Pizza and Pork meals were great and tasty. Beer was lovely and sparkling apple water went down real nice.
Menu was pretty standard and the beers had a good variety. Nice place to stretch the legs
What can I say....WOW... The hot share platter and tasting pallet of brewed on site Ales was sensational...the kids could not get enough of our meal once they had devoured their own pizzas. Food was great. Service was great. Beer was great. What more do want from a small gippsland town. Well done Bullant Brewery
We enjoyed the seafood platter on the deck at Bullant brewery on beautiful sunny winter’s day.
The menu is six pages and extraordinarily diverse - pizza, chicken curry, hamburgers, risotto... we went for a share plate as had been recommended to us by a local. The size of the platter was very generous. The grilled dory fillets were delicious and easily our favourite part of the platter. The deep fried potato spun prawns were tasty and really creative - not something we’d had before. The stuffed mussels were also nice and again quite different.
The only critique would be that the tartare sauce was much too sweet, as was the chili sauce the prawns were in – I have a suspicion these weren't made in the kitchen. With the number of dishes on the menu this temptation is understandable but did take the shine of the meal a little.
Service was friendly and prompt.
I found the beers we tried all to be a little short on carbonation for my taste and none really stood out as noteworthy.

Came to bullant brewery after hearing about it on the radio, seeing it on a food trail flyer and looking up the score on zomato. Called 1 hr in advance to make a reservation for lunch. After we got seated we didn't get service for quite a while and had to ask for menu's, they seemed quite busy though. We ordered two tasting paddles of beer, it was nice to try all the beers. Not sure whether $15 is a good price? Seemed like a little over 1 glass per tasting paddle so not cheap. We took the pork belly which was on the radio advertisment and the burger. Both were free range meat! The pork belly was not as tender and the skin not as crispy as it should have been. Sauce and price really good though. We would recommend the Jumbo River Pilsner with it. The burger came with fries and a tomato chutney. Chutney was not great. If they can improve the chutney it would be awesome to add to the burger, or add onion relish or something . The fries I would have personally liked more golden yellow and more crispy. Also the bacon on the burger could have been a bit more crispy. Burger pattie itself could have been a bit more rare.
Guess the theme is that things could have been more crispy ;)
We were very full after these two dishes, plenty of food for lunch.
One waitress was very smiley and happy, which was great. Made for hospitality.
The view from the balcony bit is very nice, over the farmland and the town seems nice too.
Came here and they were fully booked but they were very kind and welcoming to us and set up an extra table to the side for which was great as we really wanted to come after reading the reviews. We shared bread for a starter, the bread was ok but didn't have enough dipping oil with it. For my main I had the chicken and leek pie. The pie was delicious and full of flavour and had beautiful puff pastry. The veges on the side had a lovely flavour too. Definitely recommend coming here and also tasting the beers they brew on site
Headed down the road to Bullant Brewery today (Boxing Day 2015) for burgers & beers whilst spending some time in Bruthen, Victoria. Ordered the "Bullant Beef Burger" of 250gram house made beef patty with tomato, lettuce, bacon, onion jam and wholegrain mustard mayonnaise. Pricey at $22 in a small country town but those rustic cut rosemary salted chips were to die for 😍 take my money!!! The bread to filling ratio was the only let down with the homemade burger bun proving too much of a mouthful and made the burger seem dry. Would happily eat this meal again soon paired with another pot of that delightful summer kolsch!
Second time I've been here and haven't been disappointed! I believe the first time I came I shared the seafood platter with 2 others and this time we did the same, we added a bowl of chips (didn't remember this came with the platter) and a vegetarian pizza. Very reasonably priced ($96 for 3 people incl 4 alcoholic beverages). These dishes ended up being too much food for the 3 of us, but the chips are amazing here! I did feel like the seafood platter lacked a bit of seafood that was filled in with the chips. The service was really good also, very attentive and didn't feel forgotten once despite it being quite busy. The lady that seated us was super pleasant and not in an over the top fake way either, she just seemed like she wasn't hating that she was there which is always nice. Definitely would come back here with others.
Great beers and amazing ambiance and super amazing views. As soon as we parked our cars the views were breathtaking. I wanted to sit no where but outside and thankfully it wasn't that crowded at that hour. Ordered the tasting beer boards with some regular food. It was a pleasant experience. We missed there live music. hopefully not next time.
I have never given a 5.0 rating until now! Came specifically for the brewery (not sure there's too much else to see/do in Bruthen). The beer tasting paddle was pretty darn good. But then I ordered some food to go with ... the Spicy Squid was incredible! So juicy and tender, and the flavors went so well with the beer. Full marks, well deserved.
We visited this great venue today whilst on a bit of a wine and food trail. The service was outstanding and the food amazing !!! We had the hot share patter and it did not dissapoint , the squid was super tender, the pork belly flavoursome, the tandoori chicken tasty and the chefs special pizza packed full of flavour . The chunky Cajun chips packed a punch with their flavoursome spice . My husband had a tasting paddle of beers - each was delish! We ended up purchasing a six pack but we'll be back !

Me and a couple of mates went for a ride and ended up having lunch here and I'm glad we did! The sharing platter and seafood platter were spot on! The lads said the pale ale was a bit of a let down and the cider I had tasted like a mixture of wine and cider.. Will definitely be going back there but I think I'll just stick to the soft drink

Great All Rounder. Have dined here twice in the past three months and both times walked away generally very happy. Lunch with my husband at Christmas was absolutely delicious... the thai chicken salad was bursting with flavour and the beef burger tasty with crunchy chips. For dessert we had the berry cheesecake and sticky date pudding. Both were generous servings and absolutely divine.
Lunch with my in-laws and our four year old daughter for the labour day public holiday was nice but something was missing. The salads were tasty but smaller than last time, the baked barramundi was HUGE but the rosti and greens a little bit limp, the beef fillet was rare as ordered but rather chewy. Lemon cheesecake for dessert was perfect for the hot day, but small and obviously was not a baked as it was very aerated. This needs to be noted on the menu... gelatin cheesecakes are not to everyone's liking!
Without a doubt the absolute highlight of both of our dining experiences was the fantastic service we received from our lovely waitress. Unfortunately the staff do not wear name tags but this waitress is easily recognisable by her beaming smile. She is so invested in her customers and we didn't want for anything while she was working our table. You would never know that she is a mother to five children! The wonderful service makes a nice change to the surly staff we come across living in Melbourne.
We will be back, but hoping that next time it will be exceptional again!
Dined here for lunch during the week with my parents. Easily the best place to eat in the area. Quality of food & service one would expect from upmarket Melbourne restaurants. Well done; the new favourite & the standard others should be trying to achieve.

Great service, food and coffee. The burger was amazing, homemade meat burger and awesome sauce. Loved the pilsner and the local wines available was pleasing to see. Will be back.

Like a gourmet winery, but with beer. When I planned my driveabout to Lakes Entrance, I knew I'd be seeing some sea. I never reckoned I'd head for the hills too. But when I saw that Bullant Brewery was up the southern end of the Great Alpine Road, I had to go. And not just because I love brew-pubs. I reckon this is the most "Brewery at the End of the Universe" place I'll ever go.
If you score a table outside on Bullant's deck, the setting is beautiful. It's on the edge of a small town with Federation-era architecture, has views over paddocks to distant mountains, and you can watch flocks of rosellas and other squawking parroty birds wheeling about the trees in the evening. It made me flash back to the view from Tarra Warra Vineyards cellar door in the Yarra Valley. But you're here to read about food and beer, not scenery.
Bullant was plating some great Mod Oz food the night I was there. I started with a BIG bowl of what they labeled "rosemary salted potato chips." These were like "flat chips" instead of fat chips, mostly half-moons of potato that were thick enough in the middle to still be soft, but crunchy on the edges like what a Brit would call "crisps." The lamb rump was tender slices (no chew-fat!) in a thick, sweetish jus. I don't care for ratatouille, but Bullant's was finely diced, not overwhelmingly eggplant-y, and had a zesty bit of cayenne to it. It was set atop a circle of mushroom risotto that had been fried up like a potato cake -- that's different! The sticky date pudding was like a cake slice, totally moist with caramel syrup. It went perfectly with Bullant's stout, which was a lighter version of that brew than Guinness or other gut-cloggers. If you like bee-yah, Bullant is a "destination" kinda place, a restaurant that's worth the trip for its own sake.
I had the rump steak with blue cheese sauce and it was magnificent, great service and well priced, will deffinately return
Great food. Big meals. Awesome chips. Magnificent beer. The restaurant looked nice but was very breezy. Staff seemed a little lost and confused at times. All up good experience.
Wow. Went out with a partner and another couple. We all ordered something different, beef Wellington the pastas are amazing! Everyone's plates were empty- quite a big feat because the portions are quite big! Definately worth money- the pale ale is fantastic too!!

This is a place you can't miss. Great ales (the sample paddle is yum of 4 choices). Great fresh local produce which our friendly waiter advised. You'll never leave this place feeling hungry. With large perfectly cooked steaks to a tasty burger. From the atmosphere/environment to the knowledgeable waiter a stop here is a MUST!

Top meal. In the middle of nearly nowhere the brewery offers a delightful dining experience.
There were 11 motorcyclists, all a bit wet & cold who tucked into a top meal.
I had the pork loin, it was fabulous. There were no complaints, only praise from the others.
The beers are excellent as well. Tasty deserts finish off the meal.
The best food we have had outside Melbourne. Very fresh, relaxing, a compulsory stop. If you don't try the food and beer you're a wacko!
really nice lil brewery @bullantbrewery in Victoria, the guys were heaps friendly and the beers were unique and delish! 🍻 we got a beer paddle so we could try out a couple flavours, don't quite remember what they were hahaha but it was so nice to be able to choose our own!

Really enjoyed a paddle of beers with lunch and it was good to see you can purchase extra samples if you just fancy a little taste of another beer, especially enjoyed their Brown Ale and the Stout.
To eat, we had the Bullant Beef Burger which was very tasty and perfect beer food.
With plenty of outdoor seating, I highly recommend calling in if in the area, probably best to book at weekends but we noticed they still tried to fit people in if they hadn't.
Were in Bruthen near midday so went into the Bullant Brewery for some lunch and beverage and had a very nice pizza and beer. Great service from all the staff, cool from the summer heat and nice beer.....a great experience will go back again....with a designated driver of course so I may increase my experience and try the many varieties of beer!
A foodies delight in the small township of Bruthen, only a short drive from Bairnsdale. Great for a gourmet light lunch with a sample of locally brewed beers. Menu, and beers, are seasonal so repeat visit will offer something new. The inside seating area is limited, so booking in busier times is recommended to avoid disappointment. There is parking behind the facility, but it is limited, spaces are tight and the entrance is sneakily hard to find if you've not been there before. There is also plenty of street parking nearby.
What a find! Half way on our cycle from Bairnsdale to Lakes Entrance, we discovered this excellent brewery. Great beers, including tasting paddies and eclectic food including some very tasty Asian dishes. Wonderful service too. Highly recommended!
Very diverse selection of beers - recommend getting the tasting paddle so you can try a few of them! Reasonably priced and quite tasty.
