Review Portside Seafood Restaurant - Buddina

Local Gem This is a low key restaurant right next to the marina at Buddina. The service is friendly and our seafood meals were cooked beautifully - breaded trawler prawns, Cajun barramundi and pan-fried red emperor with lemon butter. The prices are quite reasonable too!

Excellent service, fantastic food. Walked in without a reservation, admittedly not a super busy night, but accommodated with a table immediately. Waitress was super friendly & knowledgeable, even recommending an Italian restaurant in the local area for us to try. Food was fantastic, light, flavourful & filling. The scallops were devine. Will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu. Will be recommending to everyone I know.

A magnificent find. ...menu was well balanced with many choices. Carol (owner) was very pleasant and friendly to everyone whilst she greeted, served and cooked. Definitely will return and definitely worth more than 5 stars...Outstanding experience

Yum! Beautiful thick pieces of fish nicely cooked by the water. Crumbed red emperor and battered snapper here. Snapper was deliciously thick and great texture. Squid & calamari was beautifully cooked with butter-lemon-salty crumb on the [I think] calamari. Both were 👌 definitely worth a visit

Disappointing Dining experience. About 30 people at the restaurant last night (midweek), with 1 waitress and 2 cooks, who were the owners I think. Grossly understaffed for so many customers, and had to wait about 45 minutes before we got our meal. However, the Barramundi meal was very good.

Lovely quiet location on the water at Kawana Marina. Well-priced and varied menu (not just seafood). Meals came out quickly and both were well sized and delicious. Service was also very good. Will definitely eat here again.

I have never in my life ever experienced service like I did here. In all my years working in hospitality in both front of house and in the kitchen I have never heard a waitress speak to customers the way we were spoken to. Not only was the waitress running around frantically in a completely empty restaurant she was constantly walking off whilst we were trying to show our vaccine records. As we had a visually impaired person with us there was a minor issue with bringing up his record in the 3 seconds we were given before the waitress walked off again, when she returned she started loudly stating that we were confusing her. Now I understand that things can get a bit full on and walk ins are unexpected but if someone gets so confused that they forget how to do the whole "customer service" thing, I'm pretty sure they should attempt a different line of work.

We all had a great time. Beautiful setting by the water. But most of all the food was delicious. Highly recommend. Thank you Carol
