Review Tokyo Jacks - Bunbury

Front of house was a friendly Aussie that gave us some good advice for our upcoming trip to Japan. Japanese chef prepared us a great meal to go with the Saki tasting selection we ordered. Will definitely plan another visit when we are in the area.

Good mix of traditional and modern Japanese food. Everything tasted delicious but the Hokkaido scallops were the favourite of the night.

It's always hard to find food sushi or especially sashimi. I've struggled in WA so was delighted by our find in Bunbury. The sushi was beautifully made and a fine balance of flavour and texture. The sashimi was smooth fresh and melted in your mouth. Service was excellant and they were especially considerate of our 3yr old son. Would definitely recommend for the sushi lovers passing by.

Quite excited to find a trendy sushi bar. Nice atmosphere and menu looks promising. It is however by far not Japanese as the sushi is loaded with mayonaise / cream cheese. A shame not to be able to taste freshly caught fish. We asked for the bill after the first round of order, which never happened before. We had hoped to give some feedback, at least to ventilate or for them to be able to improve. This was however not listened to and even counter argued. Which made me decide to write a first review ever too!

Amazing food and wonderful service! I had the Vegan Ramen, from the lunch menu, and it's super delicious! Definitely recommend stopping in for a great meal! :)

Have not been here for at least a year but remember the food was great and the owner(?) was an expert on Japanese beer, really knew his stuff. Very efficient staff. Clean, efficient, sparse-trendy restaurant.

Great food and selection of craft beers that compliment the Japanese fusion menu. Hip music playing, nice for lunch or dinner, trendy.

We hadn't been to Tokyo Jacks before, but the menu was enticing. The restaurant itself is nice, but our issues started after we ordered food. Between the four of us we ordered five small share plates and a side of rice. Drinks were prompt - however our food was very scattered and spaced out. We got four of the five mains - the other was either never put down for our order or accidentally cancelled when we asked to cancel the rice when it failed to arrive with (or even after) the dish we asked for it to. Plus side - the food was delicious but unfortunately the sizes were quite small for so called share plates and the prices high. $19 for six pieces of tempura vegetables is steep and as it came out well after the other three dishes we were ravenous, therefore it was ultimately disappointing. The food itself was very enjoyable but greatly let down by the serving sizes, long wait times and high price.

The 4 stars are for the chef for his amazing food.. best sushi in town! but the manager is the most arrogant and self absorbed person I have ever dealt with. Tonight she single handedly ruined me and my twins birthday with her terrible customer service and shitty attitude! Not sure if she hated being there in general or had something against us either way I will never set step in that place nor will the 13 other friends and family of mine!

Yum! I always feel sorry for whoever comes out with me as resounding question is what will you get? (I'm vegan) where can you eat? We picked Tokyo Jacks on a spur of the moment and I'm so glad we did. Initially my heart sank as everyone wanted to order the share menu ($55pp for 7 plates) but after speaking with the waitress they totally catered for having a vego at the table. None of us were disappointed the food was amazing and beautifully presented. I can't even pick my favourite it was all so delicious! We left very full and with definite plans of coming back definitely recommend this yummy restaurant

Had the privilege of being at the first Ramen night and have to say it was sensational! Delightful flavour and the noodles are some of the best I have ever had!! Customer service was impeccable as always. We will be back again soon :D

This is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food, it is a Jewel in the heart of Bunbury. Great service by all staff we interacted with. My favorite dish was the grilled mushrooms and loved the plum wine. Topped off by discovering i could buy my favorite soft drink, Ramune, to take home. Lovely evening thank you :)

It’s been a week now and I haven’t stopped thinking about that tasty, yummy ramen. I am so keen to have it again guys, the noodles and the broth were so delicious, and the pork nice and thinly sliced. Not to mention the other things we ordered. My fried cauliflower so crispy and amazing and the wagyu beef croquettes were smooth and creamy and just mmmmmm! The berry cocktail I ordered was also fruity and juicy too. Thanks guys for giving me and my family an amazing night! Definitely coming back! <3

To summarise my experience, I would say hit and miss... I like more traditional Japanese food and obviously this is a fusion but some dishes on the menu were quite questionable such as the scallops with basil on thin crispy bread. I enjoyed the sashimi, the chicken karagee wasn't fried and crunchy and my green tea was a tea bag Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. It was ok

Absolutely top class. A gem. One other restaurant in Bunbury comes close in standard but this place just knows what it is doing and delivers consistently.

Have never had a bad meal there. Favourite place in town by a long way

Best food in Bunbury I think. Be brave, order raw. Service is attentive, but if they get busy (and they will) don't hesitate to flag a waiter

Just magnificent food. And the Mocha Affagato Parfait... my head almost exploded with delight!!! Making this a must visit stop when I'm next in Bunbury.
