Review Aristos Waterfront Bunbury - Bunbury

Good service with kind staffs. I ordered garlic prawns with jasmin rice. I just wonder why they put cinamon in the rice. That just ruined everything, but it could be just me who doesn’t like that. Prawns were very good and sauce was yum. But cinnamon… rice.. why…

Was a fantastic meal. Food and drinks came out very quickly. The fish was to die for.. just melted in your mouth Me and hubby had the Fishermans basket and it was enough for us two. Highly recommend

I enjoyed our meals and the location was great but the pricing and service level is confused. We ordered seafood, naturally. I was driving so I could only enjoy one beer and glad of wine. You pay up front and they also do take away. The prices are expensive, like a full service restaurant but the service is take away standard, so you have to pay as you go. The staff were helpful and nice and we enjoyed oysters, crayfish and a seafood basket. I was really disappointed that the serve sachet tartare sauce, again a low budget choice that does not match the view or prices. Our fisherman basket including some crab product that tasted and looked totally manufactured. The crayfish was delicious, so the standard was totally up and down. I enjoyed our meal and the view was terrific but I will not be going back anytime soon. If you can select the correct dishes maybe recommended but too hit and miss for my liking. Not recommended

Sign is incorrect you do not need to show proof of vaccination for take away order, I am double vaccinated and showed my vaccination but the lady was very rude told me to check with the government. Check the regulations before being sassy and rude to paying customers.

I always enjoy my experience at Aristos friendly fast service and they now bring your food to the table 😊 plus when you order a glass of wine you get a full glass 🍷 probably one of the best value dining experiences in Bunbury and ++++++ gorgeous views of the water and we enjoyed our food outside and were not harassed by flies at all! ! The only negative is that the food is mainly deep fried but if that's what your craving 👍

Last night we were greeted at the ordering desk by a bored, grouchy and impatient man which set an atmosphere of just another fish n chip shop that's just out to make a buck. We picked a table with a view which is of course lovely. The food was placed in front of us in a hurry but it was very generous. The fish was basic fish n chip stuff but cooked magnificently. Melt in the mouth. Chips were delicious. I was disappointed there was no vinegar. Usually a must for me. Actually didn't need it. Such a shame about the staff because it was the best fish n chips we've ever eaten. Great value for money

Shared a seafood meal. Calamari is great, not deep fried. Nice bit of salad. Relaxed dining with good service

Love to place, every time we come down to Bunbury we always come for a feed at Aristos. The food is always perfect and the staff friendly and welcoming.

Love the feed we get from here, every single time we go. Love the squid, and the fish with chips and salad is always enough, for me and hubby to share. And the staff are great! Even after the 6weeks of awesome renos, the owner recognised us and went out of his way to say hi. One of our fave spots. We Don't go anywhere else.

One of the nicest fish and chip dinners I've ever had. Probably can't visit again but advise others to definitely drop in and try.

Very nice. Would certainly go again. The decor wasn't as good as I expected but the food and service were very good. Beautiful position.

Great place for casual dining; and the view is superb.

Great food and service at a good price. Couldn't complain about a thing on a busy public holiday Monday lunchtime.

Just wanted to report a lovely experience about Aristos. Purchased food only to drop it on the floor straightaway. The gentleman offered to replace the food for free even though it was my fault. So nice to see customers valued by a business these days. Thank you!

Love the food specially the pizza. The service is great.

Took my elderly father out for lunch and we got fish and chips to take away, portions were very generous but the fish was terrible, very floury and mushy.

Driving down south to dunsborough, we got to Bunbury at lunch time so made an unplanned stopover at Aristos. Ordered the seafood basket and a glass of house white.

This is the high-end of the budget menu here so I felt it best to check that the seafood is local and fresh. It is, only the budget fish is imported though local does mean WA - I can live with that.

At $30 a head you pay primarily for the view which is lovely though I'd rather see it without the fishing net.

The triumph of the dish was the Panko crab leg, ahhh crab is indeed the most underrated bounty of the sea and blue manner is just so sweet and succulent! The prawns were bland in comparison, the fish perfectly battered but rather floury and mushy inside. The calamari was ok but I've had a lot better. Chips- a solid performer. A touch of salad in the side was a crisp refresher. All the mentions of homemade tartar sauce on the menu don't extend to the budget menu, expect master foods squeezies instead.

So what can I say.....? If you are looking for a nice afternoon out with friends relaxing with a drink over the water then yes, you'll be on the money here. The food is not bad and I'm sure that more pricy fish would have been better - it looked like it on other tables.

If serious seafood is what you're after, there are better places to find it.

Waited nearly 5 mins at the counter before being served (in a totally empty restaurant) even though there were plenty of staff members walking past me.
We ordered the seafood basket and the prawn and scallop pizza. The pizza was burnt on the bottom and just covered in grease; and there was no point ordering the seafood basket as the prawns, squid and crab tasted like they had been frozen for years (the fish and chips were good so should've just ordered that).
Staff weren't overly friendly, and the person that served me (I'm assuming the manager) acted like i was a burden being there.
Would not recommend or go back.

this place is nice and the food is good and it's a good stop to break up a drive to margaret river-ish area, but it's pretty pricey! it's definitely more upmarket than a takeaway joint and the chowder was fantastic, but it's not too different from kailis and cicerellos in fremantle imo.

Came here for lunch on a public holiday. This place was busy but had a seat quite soon. The atmosphere was great, the view was greater and the food was awesome. I had the seafood chowder, one of the best ones I've had, it was very satisfying! The calamari and chips was also pretty good. Enjoyed my lunch here thoroughly :)

Today we ordered the seafood basket. I'd recommend you just go for straight fish and chips as the other ingredients in my meal, the squid coated in a lemon seasoning, crumbed prawn and "crab" were just not worth the space they were occupying on the plate. Tasteless "fillers" really. The fish however was nice, tasted fresh and the chips were good too. The lemon seasoning on the squid was not nice. Salt and some garlic would be nicer.

The service was good.

I took my family there today for the first time after the renovations. The renovations are fantastic but the food has been over priced. I don't know how a seafood restaurant right on the water can serve imported basa fillets as there fish and chips. I can understand if it was a fish and chip shop. But this is suppose to be a seafood restaurant. Come on I'm sure you don't need to import fish from overseas and have it at a $19. We changed it to flake for an extra $3 and only got one very small piece.
The service was great I'll give them that. But I still cannot believe they use frozen imported fish when they could support Australian fishing.

Expensive! Expect to wait! And don't expect your order to be processed as it is received. The venue is excellent and the view amazing. Not worth the money

I visited Aristos tonight with family after checking the online menu to ensure there was something I could eat. As a coeliac, I ordered the quinoa salad and then asked about whether the chips would also be safe to eat. The waitress assured me they weren't beer battered and did not have any flour coating so I decided to give them a try too. The chips came out first and were clearly beer battered so they eventually took them back. When the salad came out, it wasn't quinoa but white balls which appeared to be either pearl barley or Israeli couscous. The waitress insisted it was quinoa so I asked the manager who also said it was quinoa but did go and check with the chef. He returned with a bag of Israeli couscous which is primarily wheat. At this point I just asked for a plain Greek salad, which came out swimming in oil. The manager said he would come back with the Feta cheese and a refund, but never returned. I then had to queue up again for over 10 minutes to get a partial refund for the salad and eventually also the chips.
Unfortunately the other guests also had very greasy fish and chips they couldn't finish, and a margarita pizza that was covered in sliced garlic.
Overall a very disappointing meal.
Fresh Seafood, great dinner and even yummy coffee & cakes for afterwards!its not often a place does a variety and does it all quite well. My husband had the chicken parmigiana which was great (that's all he eats when out!) and I had the garlic prawns which were quite nice. It was great that they also did coffee & cake afterwards.

Fresh seafood. Haven't been here for over 3 years. The dining area is now all "masked" with bird net. Interesting to see a notice for their internal staff near the counter saying all staff must wear gloves to handle food. However, I saw a staff just use bare hand to pick the veggie salad to the plate !
Anyway, my seafood chowder is not bad, only a bit salty to my palate. Love the fish of the Fish & Chips, but the chips are quite oily and not crispy enough outside.

I thought the gold band snapper was great. I thought the sauce was awesome, two prawns and a limp salad was a but rough for a $36.90 special. Parking is crap, that said I do like the place. I'll be back.

The fish and chips here used to be wonderful, but the quality is steadily dropping. Too much oil is being used and it ruins the flavour of the fish. I hope it improves again soon, because the location is gorgeous.

Average. 5 years ago Aristos was great, now it just plays on the name and has jacked up the prices and is very average I just wont go there anymore. Very disappointing

Disappointed. We had dinner at Aristos last night and were very disappointed with the squid rings, more like the end off cuts with the outer skin not cleaned off properly. Not quite sure how little the squid were but certainly not very nice. On a positive note the kids meal of fish and chips went down well. The coffee at the Dome afterwards ended the night on a pleasant note.

I've maybe been to kalis bros and cicerellos in Perth 100 times. This places quality of food and service are just as good if not better. It was Sunday and packed and we got our food quickly and it was all great tasting and quality. Sure the pricing is on the high side but have you been to kalis and cicerellos recently? Try this place for yourself.

If a business can't be bothered doing their website- "under construction" since 2010- makes you wonder why you would bother to eat there.

Great spot but. I walk away with damp oil in my mouth...it they fixed that I would like it

How much?!?. Love the calamari here and beautiful atmosphere...too expensive for regular visits but definately worth having a meal here!

Awful. My mussels were uncooked and my brother bit down on something hard in his fish and chipped his tooth. We used to come here most times we passed by Bunbury. Now we'll just bypass the whole town. Keep driving people!

76% of people like it!? I ate here recently one night. After paying a small fortune at the counter, we sat outside expecting to be served a great seafood extravaganza. Unfortunately, we were given a small box of greasy chips and a tiny piece of fish, which was also drenched in oil. The place is licensed, but only had a very limited range of wine. Shameful considering Bunbury is the gateway to one of the best wine regions in the world. After sipping on my luke warm glass of wine and enduring as much grease as my stomach could handle, I left this establishment with an empty wallet feeling very disappointed. I cannot help but feel that this place is only surviving because of the celebrity status of its name sake, but I suspect Aristos himself has nothing to do with the atrocities performed in the kitchen

Overpriced. This used to be a great place to take the family for good value, delicious fish and chips. The prices have gone up recently by 50%, and the value has gone down. I would understand the prices going up a little, but they process their own fish. They charge dinner service prices for a piece of fish, and chips, served in cardboard boxes. Wake up guys, or you will lose much of your patronage. I also noticed the size of the wine glasses had changed to smaller glasses. Less wine for your bucks. I was once one of their most staunch supporters...no longer...sorry.

Delicious. The fish and seafood here is to die for! So fresh and the batter on the fish is so crunchy. Absolutely amazing.. I just wish they would open one up in Fremantle!
Hungryjuz
We ordered fish n chips. The scallops were nice and squid. But overall what we paid"$10 per a small piece of fish" I don't feel it was value for money, over priced.

Fish n'chips!!!!. To be a bit healthier - grab a kids meal and add a salad. still really filling!

If you like seafood.... Then you have to try this place ... seriously the best fish and chips I've had anywhere in WA. You get one and a half battered fillets for 1 serve of fish. Very fresh.
