Review Little House Chinese Malaysia Restaurant - Bundoora

Sorry but I don’t understand the high ratings for this place. Malaysian-born hubby and I stopped by for dinner tonight and we can’t say a single positive thing about the place. It was filthy inside and the food isn’t even remotely authentic. The char kway teow was oily, tasteless and had Chinese sausage that tasted off in it. The curry laksa was actually mulligatawny and had so much chilli oil it was impossible to eat. And don’t even get me started on the satay. Don’t bother with this place, folks. There are much better options out there, even if it means travelling a bit further south.

is an authentic mainland China's takeaway styles like i had visited China trips. though they only have English for lunch menu haven't seen the English dinner menu but u can ask and the chef will give u the recommendation of mainland China's dishes. u should try is very different from Hong Kong takes away.

What a gem. Went to this place by suggestion of friends. The chef is a master. Delicious meals and very authentic. Great little place. It's all in the food!

Love this little place, chef is entertaining and food is great, Chinese menu is where it's at. If you're not sure what to order, ask!

I've had much better. And from what I can see of the kitchen from the register area, it's not a very clean kitchen, at all.

I head down to Little House quite often for my local Chinese. The restaurant is regularly visited by all the nearby residing Asian students. Reason being, the chef provides very tasty, genuine local style dishes. Yes they cater for Western tastes too with the usual suspects (ie. Satay beef, beef and Blackbeans) but I tell you what even these seem to be done a step above the rest. Do yourself a favour and step outside your comfort zone and give something a little bit more 'real' a go next time. Most things are done rather well! One of my favourites is their Moo Shu Pork and if you're in the mood for a bit of spice, their Sichuan dishes are great! I suggest even giving their alternative to the very pink and fake sweet and sour pork a go (Shanghai Style Sweet and Sour Pork)

It is a Chinese restaurant and have a really good Shanghai cuisine. You should try the Chinese food. Definitely great. I have read other reviews. But it is a Chinese restaurant not Malaysian.

I really enjoy this place, yes the white people(I'm white) menu is a bit bleak, but if you're adventurous ask the chef to make something for you, you will not be disappointed.

So yeah, the other reviews you can ignore, because I'd bet they have the taste buds of a 2yo.

Have yet to be disappointed here, and I come here quite often, always just leave it up to the chef to "make me something interesting".

Great place!

This is definitely not a Malaysian restaurant. The current owner probably left the old sign when he took over from the previous owner. Some dishes are good while others are pretty average. Don't expect any service in there, you just wanna go in, have a quick meal and get out.

Food below average, will not return. We had pork spring rolls and Mee Goreng. The noodles were made from 2 minute noodles nothing like how Malaysian mee goreng should taste.

Malaysian or Chinese?

Quaint, looks inviting and it has been there for some 12 years.

It was a challenge choosing between Malaysian or Chinese food on the Lunch Menu.

Decided on old time Malaysian favourite Char Kwee Tiaw $11.80. Not as expected; it comes with Zucchinis and Carrots, Lap Chomg (Chinese sausage) and slices of BBQ Pork.
Not a bad fried rice noodles but it's far from an authentic CKT.

Maybe will try Chinese Menu next time, looks better.
