Review The Little Plate - Burleigh Heads

What an amazing dinning experience at The Little Plate. Service and food were next level. Very highly recommend! Especially to American tourists missing the US hospitality vibes and flavors. You can seriously taste the love and effort in the food that comes out of this charming gem!

Was there on my own. I do eat out alot. Had the kingfish salad, then banana prawns Szechuan style with rice and finally caramel bread and butter pudding. All delicious and very full at the end! Friendly staff and chefs...would come back but I do not live here.

Another visit to this wonderful place. Tonight was an excellent meal starting with pork and prawn dumplings. My wife had fish cakes. They were both served with a superb salad which was so fresh and a delicious dressing. We both ordered the kangaroo fillet which was cooked to perfection and served with roasted vegetables. An absolute wonderful evening once again and this has become my number one restaurant on the Gold Coast.

We ordered takeaway from here while staying nearby at Burleigh on the Beach and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the truffle mushroom pizza. We will definitely eat here again when we return to Burleigh Heads. Thank you!

Had my birthday here , they kindly sorted our table out the ā€œbackā€ which is my opinion is that best spot ! We had 1 gluten free and one vegetarian and the chiefs so generously gave us the set menu and created plates for our vege and gluten friends and it just made the whole experience great The food alone is enough to recommend this place over and over again , but the chiefs are wonderful the staff are equally as wonderful, the whole place is just WONDERFUL , it has a beautiful atmosphere I cannot recommend it enough ,itā€™s is by far my favourite spot in the Gold Coast Thanks guys for a great night If

Very big prices for small portions at $5.20 per piece of ravioli and $1.20 per piece of the tiniest chicken karaage I've ever seen. The little plate with big prices.

Great food and service. From home baked flat breads and pizzas through to perfectly cooked seafood and pasta. Something for everyone and reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended.

One of my favourite in Burleigh heads. Nice little collection of international cuisine- each dish was made to perfection. The lady that served us was extremely attentive, helpful and served us with very enthusiastic attitude. We all enjoyed our little catch up and the little plate. Highly recommend it- book ahead as places are limited and it does get full very quickly

The plates to share were divine! We also had one of their signature coffee martinis which was very good.Ā A great place for a night out, and it pays to book for a group as appears to be busy. A must visit!

A little gem of a find. The menu is based on share plate philosophy which is great for group dining. Our waitress was extremely good & gave us terrific intellectual exchanges between dishes.
Nice atmosphere, amazing dishes, perfect presentation & very tempting desserts. The chef even visited our table which is always a great touch.
Very hard to fault & worth every $$$ spent.
A must try when visiting the Gold Coast.
#ResearchAndTravelServices
#facxual_events

I'll start with the positives which were good service, attentive waitress, nice interior and nice cocktails. I realised after that this is a shared plate kind of restaurant (we came with visiting family who chose the restaurant) but if you have some dishes that are entrƩe sized and some main sized maybe you should delineate them on the menu so people can tell. I assume there were some specials as we saw a blackboard outside but we didn't get told what they were maybe they were just desserts?? Not sure. My main gripe is with what was detailed on the menu for my order - twice cooked pork belly with scallop ceviche on yakisoba. Now in Brisbane, Yakisoba is fried noodles .. as the name literally states 'yaki' = grilled, 'soba' = noodles. I wasn't expecting a huge meal for $19 but I did expect more than just 3 very thin pork belly strips with 1/2 tsp of ceviche (with flying fish roe) on top and some sauce underneath. I had to ask the waitress where the yakisoba mentioned on the menu was .. She said "Oh it's the sauce"... not sure if she heard my muttered comment to my husband after she left that the menu didn't say yakisoba sauce .. it said yakisoba. For $19 in a Brisbane tapas restaurant I can get either 2 dishes which would have satisfied or 1 1/2 dishes. Actually I would have been satisfied with the dish as is if there were actually some noodles on there .. 30c worth of noodles would have done it. My dining companions were more satisfied with their meals but as my nephew commented the serving sizes were a bit random as he had a salmon dish which was substantial but my husband ordered the steak for the same price and was underwhelmed.

Great little restaurant & bar, staff very friendly and tapas supurb, wine by the glass and food not expensive, Persian meatballs, paella and zucchini and potato fritters delicious! Great draft beer on tap. Sitting outside on a balmy night made it extra special.

Definitely satisfied. My wife and I had a perfect evening at The Little Plate for her Birthday.
We wanted a nice comfortable place to spend our time with a generous selection of dishes and flavours at a reasonable cost and this place definitely delivered.
The food is prepared and delivered with pure customer satisfaction in mind.
There is a selection of craft beers and several wines that are complimentary to the balanced flavours of the perfectly cooked food.
As you can tell, I highly recommend this establishment for your next dinning experience.

By the power of Seafood. I, J, along with K, enjoyed this pleasent little place. Although we got moved to "The little bar", we did not feel as though we had been shafted. The atmosphere was exactly as we liked, small but welcoming. I will start with the negative, however, which is minor.... Our waiter, lets call him Albie, although efficient enough with the service, seemed to struggle with the pronunciation of the dishes.... It may be more productive to simply write down the specials of the night and include it with the menu as opposed to relying on your staff to remember each dish..... but, this is a restaurant and we come for the food.... and it must be said, the food was delicious... both myself and K enjoyed the food, particularly the seafood options on the menu and not a complaint can be made on the quality and the timeliness of each dish. Well done Little Plate, we shall see you again......

A tasty gem - service was great, food was beautifully presented and so complex and tasty. But still had a great dish for children

Not impressed. Went last night and had pretty high expectations, but disappointed. This is a restaurant that is following the current trend of small plates that are expensive and pretty boring. Having eaten in many Izakaya's in Japan and Tapas joints in Spain and USA maybe my expectations of what constitutes "small plates" differ from this restaurant's clientele. We had 3 small plates of seafood and had the intention of following it with a couple of larger plates with meat or that were vegetable based. We ended up getting another small seafood and a large chicken dish for the second round. The first 3 were bland and small enough to give both my partner and 2 mouthfuls each - at $18 a pop. The second round resulted in the squid being sent back as it resembled rubber bands and was inedible. The chicken salad arrived and was small for the cost and well - just that, a chicken salad. Smaller than a soul bowl portion and what I'd expect for a lunch, not a dinner. We paid the bill, left and went and got a decent meal from Justin Lane for half the price. Staff were nice and attentive, but you eat out for the food, not the customer service. Definitely no WOW factor from us.

Gold Coast needs more like this. Great food, good service, easy parking as its not a mainstream location. A welcome bit of quality amongst all the places churning out so-so tourist meals. Will happily go again when in the GC.

Gaylene Burleigh Heads. We are locals and have dined here and been very impressed in the past but had not been for a while. We dined on Saturday evening with another couple and were very impressed once again. The food was fantastic with interesting choices for everyone, the service friendly and unobtrusive. We could not have been happier with the overall evening. Highly recommend and will be back again soon. Thank you Little Plate.

Not that impressed.... Went here because of great reviews, and left not very impressed.

No.1 - the dishes needed salt, and if the chefs don't agree, at least have salt on the table so those who care to can add some.

The blue corn tortilla was good, as was the crab cake. Petit mignon was also good but potatoes sucked due to lack of aforementioned salt. Paella was flavourless unfortunately.

Cocktails were nice, but service was real slow getting them. Seated in the The Little Bar which also had atmosphere severely lacking.

All in all, I would have loved to have written a good review of this restaurant as I had high hopes - but it wasn't to be.

No so sorry, I could not recommend, food was OK, but noisy as, We took friends, a little embarrassed at my choice actually, staff were lovely but service average. And BYO in this section and that section but not your section WTF ?

Dined here last night. Started off very well, pulled pork tortilla and beef capachio were delicious. Then mains arrived, 4 different dishes, were a little disappointing. Especially as we ordered wine to have with our meal and despite two reminders, we had finished our meals before the wine (and napkins) arrived. A real shame. Left wanting for more!

WOW WOW WOW!. Ate out last night at The Little Plate in Burleigh. Wow after reading all the reviews we knew we were in for some amazing food but were blown away. We choose the Mussels and the Satay chicken, both unusual choices for my husband and I but were both very happy with the choices. Food was clearly so fresh and generous serves. We both only ordered the small size and still that was enough. I was even treated to a Salted Caramel Margarita as they heard my husband mention it was my birthday. Cant wrap the food ENOUGH but the service was just as outstanding. We were served by Carly and she was so friendly and chatty and nothing was too hard! She explained the menu and tastes to perfection and even the chefs came out with our plate at one stage! The spot was nice and we wonā€™t only be rushing back there, but we will be taking everyone with us! The food was so cheap and even BYO! Do yourself a favour and book a table NOW and tell everyone else to as well! Canā€™t wait until The Little Bar opens up in the next couple of weeks, if it is half as good as the restaurant, it will be a HUGE success!

Great little side street restaurant. My friend and I had 3 share plates which was enough for us. The beef carpaccio, prawn and crab cakes and lamb kofta. And after over hearing the waitress mention the snickers dessert special, we swooped on that as well as the panna cotta. As for the service, all waitress were very knowledge and friendly. I would totally recommend

Nice Food. Nice food, quaintly different but small servings

I dont want to Share this place but its wrong not to!!!. We dined here yesterday with a group of 6. It was incredible!!!
Six was prefect numbers, as we got to try a good amount of things from the menu, any less wouldnt have been enough different plate options but any more people and it would be too tight and too hard to share.
Each one of us selected a dish from the menu, and we all shared them. In short, we had Tuna, Eye Fillet, SA Squid, Zaatar Chicken, Potato & Cheese Fritters, Pulled Pork Tacos. Each & every one of them came accompanied with something great like hand cut potato chips, with a garlic creamy sauce, or crispy potatoes etc. Every condiment we had was also fantastic. We even asked for bread to dip and finish off the sauces, in which the friendly staff were more than accommodating and served us up some hot crusty bread.

We couldnt go past dessert, so once again we each selected our own desserts. Two of our party had affogato served with caramel infused tequila which was the hit of the day. The best they have ever had, and this is coming from two local Melbournites who are regular Affogato drinkers :)
The Pannacota with Persian Fairy Floss & Pistachio icecream was a hit. Along with the Walnut & chocolate torte with Espresso Icecream (if you like coffee, you will devour this icecream). And the Sticky Date Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce with Vanilla Icecream was as good as it sounds!

All in all, for 6 main dishes, 6 desserts, a bottle of wine, and about 5 other alcoholic drinks the bill was around $95 a cpl. Its definatly worth a try if your looking for a memorable meal!!! And THANKYOU to all of the helpful, smiling staff. We especially appreciated the chef coming out and talking to us at different times throught the afternoon.

Gems can be found in all manner of places. This little gem is found in a local strip of, partly gentrified, shops in Burleigh, well off the tourist-driven 'main drag'. The menu is cleverly designed, the food is immaculately prepared and creatively presented. The service is warm, professional and welcoming. The decor and atmosphere are utterly charming. We were most impressed and will be back - it's worth the trip up from Sydney! The sticky-date pudding is the best I have experienced (and I am well-versed in sticky-date pudding!!). I highly recommend dining at Little Plate.

Simply perfect! I love everything about this place. Its has a cute Parisian interior and the food is just delicious!! I love the sharing philosophy! It meant I tried some dishes I may ordinarily have overlooked. Each dish had a lot of thought and love poured into it. It is a delight to eat out when food is this good. Don't change a thing!

Beautiful, the staff were lovely and the meals were incredibly tasty and very reasonably priced. I would have driven down from brisbane just for the panna cotta dessert! Can't wait to go back :)

Terrible waitress. We didn't enjoy our experience at this restaurant .
The food wasn't what I had hoped and we had the rudest waitress. We won't be recommending this restaurant

Over the moon with the place. Top notch food, quality service people who know what they're talking about and really intimate, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Well done guys, keep it up!

A Gem of a Find. Absolutely first class dining. I was literally blown away by the food and service last night, all seven of us thought our meals were 10/10 The chef even came out to our table and constructed a vegan menu for one of our guests. Service was always attentive and we are so excited about our return in a fortnight. Our new eatery hangout :)

What a delight. Bring more of this to GC please, suburban restaurants for locals. Try Gaynore's stingray or crepes you won't be disappointed. Excellent service.

We started withĀ Bread Crumbed Squid with Tartare ā€“ warm crisp portions of tender squid dipped in creamy, salty dill tartare sauce. Our second entree was the Mahi Mahi Thai Fishcakes ā€“ tender fragrant portions of fishcake with a herb and spice infused zesty Thai dressing. Next, we were servedĀ the Atlantic Salmon with Miso Mayo and Scandinavian Potatoes ā€“ beautifully grilled salmon with a creamy and soybean earthy sauce, served with diced dill potatoes and salad leaves. Next, was the Local Mackerel with Salsa

Dressed up for date night, coiffed, perfumed, accessorised. Should I pack my camera? Itā€™s our fifth wedding anniversary and The Main Squeeze has managed to keep the venue a secret. ā€œBe ready at 5pm,ā€ was all heā€™d said. I cast my memory back to our first date. Dressed up, coiffed, perfumed and accessorised, Iā€™d anticipated an exciting evening with a man Iā€™d known only a week or so, but really liked. Venue?
