Review Commune - Burleigh Heads

Sinead Russell
Really gorgeous food, and coffee was lovely as well. The staff could be a bit more proactive but overall i enjoyed the experience and would go back as food is so fresh, filling and awesome. Spent $42 per person on comparison to $54 at the paddock yesterday for 2 people - just to get a sense of price comparison

First visit and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and price for breakfast! Fast service, great staff and beautiful flavours. Everything was so tasty and we also enjoyed our hand made almond milk chat latte. It was amazing! I definitely recommend this place for breakfast!

Hands down one of the best cafes, ever! Food was exceptionally well flavoured and very fresh. I'm drooling just thinking bout it 🤤 Beef cheek on Rosti: Delicious af! Eggs were perfectly poached and the special hollandaise was great. Hawaiian soba with soy chicken: Yummm. Every veg was seasoned differently and perfectly! Super fresh produce. Thank you to kitchen staff and also the great service by front staff!

First-timers popping in for an afternoon coffee. We ordered an espresso and a cappuccino - both were delicious with that strong signature Campos flavour. We also got a carrot cake that was to die for. SO moist (sorry 🙈) and tasty - nothing like those bulk made carrot cakes in most coffee shops. After seeing the food people at other tables were eating, we will definitely be back! The staff were super friendly. Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Value for money: 💰💰💰💰💰/5 Customer service: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️/5 Atmosphere: 😍😍😍😍/5 Will visit again: ✅

Spent Father’s Day at this Cafe last Sunday and it was worth it. Service was exeptional as my family and I felt very looked after! Food was great and coffee was spot on 👌🏻 Would go back to this place again and definitely recommend it to others. This cafe is dog friendly too so that’s a plus! ❤️

So pleased we decided to stop here on our way to Harbour Town. We had a banana smoothie, Eggs Florintine and The Forager. Outstanding!
Kate Davison
The most delicious, fresh, tasty snapper tacos. Service was excellent - friendly and fast. Will be back when next in Burleigh.

Cute cafe with a fun vibe. I had an açai bowl and my friend had the dragonfruit one. The portions were quite large, and super delish. I’m still confused about the waiter who has something poured all over the back of her shirt, down her arm and leg but pretended like nothing was there.

Another less than average review from a first and last time visitor. My partner and I went to this place for my Bday brunch and was totally unimpressed with the service. We waited for over 45 mins for eggs on ciabatta for myself and smoked trout with a poached egg on toast for my partner. I made a complaint to the Owner after our meal and he was apologetic and blamed numerous things inc public holiday, miscommunication between himself and the chef, himself and us etc etc. I'm sorry but that doesn't cut it when there are a plethora of other cafes in the vicinity that we could have gone too. I didn't want only just an apology i wanted to know how you are going to fix the issue. We will not be returning and i suggest others to consider choosing another cafe as well.

Sunday brunch thanks to TripAdvisor was great we had the ham of the bone eggs bene and a mango smoothie (that tasted like u were drinking a weis's ice cream bar) it was so good. It was all well worth the bit of a wait we had considering how busy it was. Great atmosphere and ambience definitely recommend.

Great place yummo food great vibe loved it . Seems to be the place to go around that area.super busy but foods great staff lovely too x

Don't come here if you're hungry, place wasn't very busy at all ,waited an hour for eggs benny was about to go ask for my money back to leave when it came out, told the hung over waitress we were about to leave didn't even get an apology food was average at best aswell.

Definitely my favourite place 4 an all day breakfast great service, great vibe, awesome food and reasonably priced..

Absolutely incredible food. I came here 2 years ago and fell in love with the cacao pancakes. I was so happy to see that they're still here now! 100% recommend. Great food, great ambience, great experience

If you are from Melbourne and only used to loose leaf Chai Latte, this is the perfect place. I searched for days trying to find a chai latte not made from powder and I found it here. I can feel my strength returning!
Kathryn Cornish
Loved my cacao pancakes with fresh fruit will definately be back. Best coffe best surroundings love the people best food.
Pete Santa
Awesome coffee. Japanese pancakes with foamed texture straight from powdered Mt Fuji snow texture land. Will be going again there as soon as the sun comes up again.

Great healthy food! Very hipster. I can’t wait to go back and try an açai bowl! ❤️❤️
Andrea Maxwell
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, good coffee, friendly staff, fast service, great music. Loved the vibe and the eclectic decor. Will definite be back!

been going to this cafe for years and seriously there food is always freaking so good and full of so much flavour one of our most favourite cafes on the gc
Karen Destiny Myles
Never had anything but a delicious meal it’s so consistent and amazing.

Visiting from the US. Had breakfast there 4!mornings. We were a party of 5-7 each day. Very busy but great service and fabulous coffee and food
Siobhan Taylor
I had a delish okonomiyaki and freshly squeezed juice when I was hungover af one day. It was exactly what I needed, and the lovely staff made the experience even better. I'll definitely be returning the next time I make my way down to the Gold Coast!

Hipster cafe that attracts many of the beachgoers at Burleigh Heads. Menu is simple and service is friendly. I had the slow cooked beef cheek which was yummy as a complete dish however the individual components suffered a little on their own. I thought the beef cheeks needed more flavour and that the potato rosti was overly salty on its own. The Banh Mi however was a winner for me and although I was a little put off by the price ($18), I'd say that it's worth it given the execution.<br/><br/>If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

Favourite cafe. <br/>Coffee is great, avo toast and smoothies are amazing!<br/>Menu is great, simple but everything you want. <br/>Price is reasonable too, staff are wonderful. <br/>Portion sizes are huge! <br/>Packed on weekends - if you don’t get there before 9am you’ve got no chance of scoring a table

Venue: cute little hip cafe with plenty of outdoor seating (also indoors but more compact). They also have lounge chairs, comfy cushioned seating outside and a ping pong table for you to relax and have some chill vibes before and/or after (or during) your meal! Cute little place. Love it even though its right beside the main road. <br/><br/>Food: <br/>Menu items are all reasonably priced. Looking at the food that came out, portion sizes were reasonable as well and everything was beautifully presented. <br/><br/>Coriander and Corn Fritters (4/5) - surprisingly really enjoyed this dish considering I am not a fan of coriander normally or rocket (which also came with the dish) but the pepper notes of the rocket along with the distinctive coriander taste paired nicely with the chili jam it came with. The corn and coriander fritters were good in texture and well made, and the chili jam was on the sweet side but that definitely completed the whole dish. There were heaps of avocado in the dish, so you definitely got that buttery richness and freshness from the avo, and there were a few pieces of cherry tomatoes that gave it a bit more texture and burst of acid. The reason I give it a 4 (and not 5) was because I did feel like the fritter itself can be a touch more flavourful, and there could be more tomatoes in the dish. Overall, would order again, perhaps with some protein next time.

Visiting from Sydney and this place made the trip (breakfast wise...)<br/><br/>Simply amazing Brunch Place... the food, the atmosphere, the service, the games/magazines to keep you busy while waiting!
Manon Berben
Had the cacao pancakes and salmon on rye sandwich plus a cupcake to finish. Very good presentation of food and good coffee. The pancakes where a bit dry but the ice cream and fruit on top saved it ;) friendly service and nice atmosphere.<br/>The 80's music was a bit loud haha but we had fun :)
Christina Mollenhauer
The food looked and tasted amazing, would high recommend also the service was extremely efficient as our food was brought out at a relative fast past considering how busy they were. Also there is also of seating options available.
DamoForce Food
We were impressed with how thick the smoothies were we had to go back again. The food was nice and was enjoyed. Will revisit. Benny was a winner
Gemma Healey
Delicious, fresh, filling. Coffee is delicious, the atmosphere and vibe is amazing, haven’t been here for 3 years but I am please to say it is as good if not better than when I used to come here. You will have to wait for tables but it’s well worth it!
HungryTumTum
The cacao pancake was amazing! Great place to hang and chat. The açaí bowl was pretty good. Still not sure about the detox smoothie but I do love how the food/drinks are not artificially sweetened.
Chantelle Hiley
My husband and I had a midweek breakfast here. The staff were friendly and our meals came out promptly. We really enjoyed our meals - I had the smoked trout on rye with a nice rough tomato and avo base. There were a few little bones which I was able to pick out but otherwise a really filling fresh tasting dish.
MK
I was attracted to this establishment by the reviews and they sure are genuine. This place serves good quality food that actually tastes like real food and with unique touch. Most cafe menus are clones of one another and are boring. RECOMMEND TO ALL
Cate
Always had a nice breakfast here, but won’t be returning. Was off putting when I ate here last week and the brunette waitress was eating fruit whilst making smoothies and in between customers and food prep. I’m glad we had already received our food or I would of requested a refund and left.
Samrobinson2006
Decided to check this place out based on recommendations and we were very impressed. It’s got quite a rustic feel with older style furniture and decor which was cool. The food was outstanding, had the eggs benny, quality fresh ham off the bone (lots of), perfectly poached eggs and fresh rocket on a chunky piece of sourdough. The coffee was fantastic as well. Couldn’t fault this place
Tyler R Palm
Great location, food and polite service but lacking organisation. One meal was eaten while still waiting for the next to arrive. None of our 4 items arriving together
Charliejas
Went here after reading reviews. 4.1 review in our book should mean pretty good. Very disappointing.ordered Vietnamese Chicken roll. Worst overcooked salty chicken I’ve ever had. Coleslaw swimming in way too much dressing. Pulled chicken off as it was inedible. Any good chef knows fresh slaw and coriander don’t need to be ruined by heavy dressing. But then that’s the diff between cooks and chefs. Clearly not their best dish. Maybe they were too hot to be bothered. Nice area to sit outside but inside stifling. Coffee reasonable at least.
Wannabe Foodie
The Commune Cafe had some really nice decor. I ordered the tagine eggs with lamb meatballs. The food was decent. The almond milk used in my coffee, however, was the bitter organic kind. It doesn't work well as a coffee milk. Wish they'd used some other mainstream barista-ready almond milk.
Dinuka Dadallage
Poor service. Staff were rude and airconditioner broken on a very hot standard GC summer day. Significant wait time in between food. Have had better acai bowls elsewhere
Tammy D
Amazing brekky here on a rainy Wednesday morning. The cacao pancakes were beautifully presented and very tasty. The eggs benny was enormous in size and flavour. Great Campos coffee.
Pragindy
The food was pretty much perfect. I ordered the cocoa pancakes - which came fast - and though they needed a bit more sugar, as well as being a little on the dry side, I thought that they were delicious and well priced. There is no particular theme in the menu, which is good because they have many different meals to choose from. Feeling on the sweet side? Try the Dragon Bowl! Want something savory? Try the corn fritters! I look forward to coming here again!
Kathy Avery
We went there tbe other day the food was great & service was excellent. We tried there Tumeric Latte is was super nice am going to see if I can make it as nice.
David Nakon
Breakfast doesnt get much better than this. Funky little place with an even funkier menu. Ive lost count of the number of times I've had eggs benny for breakfast but Commune's version with ham.off the bone was simply THE BEST!! Its a busy spot and.be prepared to wait on weekends, but hands down worth it!
Jay Contor
This is my favourite cafe on the Goldy. Admittedly I'm a little bias as I live in the adjacent neighbourhood, but the staff are incredibly friendly/helpful, the coffee is spot on and the food is extremely well presented & different to your standard menus. <br/><br/>Don't expect your basic toasties or banana bread at cafe, but I encourage you to try the different options. For breakky once I had the Eggs Benny but chose ham over bacon, and it was phenomenal. They bake their own bread and the sourdough they use for these types of dishes is so thick, crunchy and so damn good! <br/><br/>Dogs are welcome too. No better way to start your day than a sneaky visit to Commune!!

I will be returning to sample other delicacies very soon as todays sample was fantastic - Smoked Ocean Trout with beetroot slaw, avocado salsa and a poached egg on toasted seeded loaf w/ Persian fetta.<br/>The spiced brioche French toast was a killer too as were the juices.<br/>Highly recommend. Not far from the beach and away from the crowds near Burleigh Beach, this Cafe had a lovely relaxed outdoor seating area and a trendy indoor area with lovely, helpful staff.

A nice local spot tucked away behind a busy strip of shops. Great for a lazy brunch or quick takeaway. <br/><br/>Food ordered:<br/>Coffee - single origin Ethiopia as espresso and a magic. The coffee was great. Juicy, fruity and vibrant. What I look forward to in a Ethiopian coffee. I had the cumin eggs with smoked trout. It was a good middle eastern take on a traditional scramble. The cheese on top was a bit too creamy in my opinion but suited well with the pesto type dressing. <br/><br/>Ambience:<br/>I was confused at first, where to order? Why are there two locations? Apparently you can only order food at one area and just coffee and cakes at the other. That was annoying to have to investigate. I suggest making it as easy as possible for customers to sit down, order and ultimately give you money! Our waiter was nice enough and took our order promptly, so no issue there. <br/><br/>So for a good brunch with coffee to suit, you would do well to stop here. I am keen to try out the many other new cafes popping up on the area, but may return for the coffee.
Cathj5
Quirky little place with great coffee & and an interesting & yummy brunch menu. A little hard to find though. Overall enjoyed the food & atmosphere & makes for a good stop after walking Burleigh national park. <br/>
Hayley
Slow service, can't get orders right... Took over half an hour for drinks to arrive. Food took over an hour. Asked for no cheese or butter. Came out with both. Bruschetta had 4 pieces of basil. Didn't eat it. Won't be coming back here.
Layak007
Waiting 45mins for a green breakie bowl was worth it. But it was a monday 10am and it was not busy. But it was so very very good. Meatless mondays here so i really loved that. Coffee is good. Very casual up here but hey its qld as they say just relax. Must visit
BlueJay
The coffee is not much, but the Smoothie with the Banana and Coffee is awesome! We both had an excellent brunch, ingredients fresh and put together thoughtfully and we couldn't resist taking away a Mango Coconut muffin which was also delicious. Thumbs up.
Glenn
Went there to try this happening place... Eggs Benedict delightful with ham and plenty of freshly cut ham off the bone...<br/>Coffees good too and the tap your own water...<br/>Home made hollandaise and plenty of that too <br/>
Melbourne Explorer
Great rustic cafe, just off the main road.<br/><br/>Must try the eggs benedict and corriander corn fritters.<br/><br/>Find us on Instagram: @melbourne_explorer.

Good food, every time, great coffee, every time. Pancakes with coconut ice cream are a must. Just be patient as it can get quite busy after 9am on weekends but thats purely a representation of their great food and service regardless of the how many patrons they serve.
Epicurusfoodie
Very cool cafe. Attractive and friendly waiters. Cool casual 70s furniture. Coffee was oustanding. I had avocado on toast which was not smashed but still very tasty. The strawberry white choc muffin with chia seeds was super delicious!
Xander
Good value. Simple, clean food. Generous serves. A solid Campos coffee. I'll be back.
Andrew
Iced slow drip coffee is incredible, as are the corn fritters. Always delicious. Service is good and price is fair
The Chef's Wife
Not a fan. Went here on a Monday, to find its Meatless Monday for them. Ordered smoked salmon croissant but what came to my table was a heavily sandwich pressed pastry with now cooked salmon inside. Completely ruined the flavor and point of smoked salmon. Coffee was nothing to rave about either. Over hyped place in my opinion.

•4.5/5 •Great Atmosphere .... •4.5/5<br/>•Great Atmosphere <br/>•Fair Service<br/>•Big Portion Sizes<br/>•Great Quality<br/>•Excellent Mango Smoothies <br/>Note: Small venue, very busy with limited seating.

Had an excellent breakfast - scrambled eggs n bacon came with some really good tomato relish, and corn fritters with a mountain of avocado accompanied by some yummy chilli jam. Good coffee to finish it off.
Taleah Huckerby
Salads from they window were nice...thick hot smoothies were not.
Sarah Bogle
Bad service. We came in and were not greeted by anyone even though they were quiet.. the girl rudely said the menu was on the board, we then looked down and saw some paper menus and sat down outside. Then decided we actually didn't want to eat there and left.
Taryn
The Hippie. Really scrumptious with the haloumi and red capsicum dish
Madbiochemist
Best sandwiches on the coast!. The chicken pesto sandwich is the best sandwich on the coast by a country mile. The staff are always lovely despite being obviously run off their feet in parts of the day. Coffee is great! Commune are happier than most to cater for food allergy and have gluten-free options. Little miss claims they make the best babychino on the coast and she would know... Great food and great coffee made and served with a smile.
Nadine Fogale
They make their own almond milk, and food is very good. You will love it :)
Laurabenningtonis
Delicious food and friendly people. Really yummy coffee, absolutely delicious food and the friendliest staff on the coast! Commune is my go to place and I'll always take visitors and friends here. Cute decor too! Uno and connect four are the funnest to play while enjoying a coffee
Damosdollars
Commune. Went for breakfast on Sunday the food was really nice except the bacon was cold. Nice coffee as well.
Agiles67
Amazing Consistent Service and Coffee and Food. Every meal is great The campos coffee is served we'll with the friendliest staff
Mandyakd
Commune Cafe. Had a bad experience at this cafe ....coffee very average my dessert was completely stale and hard as a rock the staff were rude and the owner very weird Good luck to the rest of you trying this cafe for the first time yuk....
Pomegranate
Commune definitely lived up to it's name for great quality coffee and delicious, well priced food. Service was also very friendly, making this a whole package deal. On my visit, the standouts were the absolutely delicious chilli jam, super food smoothie and their phenomenal sandwiches! The roasted vegetable sandwich on turkish really was delicious. Their coffee certainly isn't to be forgotten though, They also serve up campos coffee in the best way possible. Overall, commune has made a name for itself on the goals coast and for good reason. A top spot on the Gold Coast!

Lunch. Delicious Eggs benedict and chicken salad. Great coffee and atmosphere and super friendly staff.

Best breakfast on the GC !. This place provides the best breakfast on the Gold Coast. I highly recommend the bacon eggs benny $15 & the blueberry pancakes $12 (and they are generous with servings). It has quality delicious coffees, juices/smoothies, & the savoury/sweet selection looks amazing every time. They are consistent here with food & beverages, good service, friendly staff, good music, cool setup with different styles of seating, comfort & games to play with while you wait for your food (uno, connect fours) super fun! To top it off it is cheaper prices here compared to the other GC breakfasts. I love this place & always come back here every weekend. Thanks Commune for your awesome service!
Ashlea
So I'm not the biggest fan of salmon and don't particularly like avocado but am always up for trying things that sound nice on a menu. I ordered the salmon scrambled eggs this morning which came with half an avocado coated in dukkah and I could NOT STOP EATING! It was the most beautiful and delicious tasting breakfast I've had in a very long time and now I'll be coming here at least once a week to be trying more treats on the menu. And I'll add, their cold drip is insanely good too :) you'll have to accommodate for an extra regular now :)
Geoff The Chef
Overated. Seems to be the place to be seen. breakfast was only ok. music was alternative rock and it was so loud. we had to ask for it to be turned down. not as good as the cafe on the corner in my opinion.
Kjun
Good coffee, great vibe. Very busy though, you will be lucky to get a table on the weekends. Tasty breakfast, very good coffee
Sacha Glen
Reasonable prices & great presentation. Tasteless food though. Probably wouldn't go back again..
7teeschild
A bit of Fitzroy in Burleigh.... Great coffee, food & vibe. Who would've thunk such a groovy place would be perched on the Gold Coast highway where you'd usually expect nothing but a hardware store, an F1 motel and a dodgy fish n chips. Well worth a visit!
Facebook User
Quirky and delicious. I love commune. One of my favourite cafes on the Coast. The breakfast was delicious. The service was slow however it was a sunday morning and the place was packed from wall to wall so it is to be expected. if you go during peak trading times be aware of this. However the food and coffee is well worth the wait. Highly recommended.
Danielle Roxanne
Great coffee. I'm a fan of this coffee shop the sandwiches are great and at a great price also ($8) . It does get very busy at times and can sometimes it takes a little bit of time for your order to arrive but, overall its a great place to go.
Jim
My stay at Broardbeach. Tried out Commune Cafe for coffee & brekkie liked both so much we returned for a 2nd vist it was just as good.<br/>My Rating Brekkie 10/10 Coffee 9/10 Smoothie 10/10
Siobhan Maguire
The best coffee on the Gold Coast. Commune is the best place to get coffee on the Gold Coast ( competes with Elk Broadbeach in my mind but is more consistent ) <br/>The atmosphere is buzzing , service friendly , fast and efficient . food is yum but for me the number one thing is the consistency and quality of the coffee - I drink skinny Latte and you won't find better anywhere on the goldie ....
Head Gear
Quick stop. Just stopped for coffee, but stayed for breaky. The place was jumping, but was big enough to have room for the two of us. Coffee was great (I went the cold drip) and it was just the thing on a hot summer day. Breaky options are basic, but well executed - tasty, healthy and one of the few joints to embrace free range (not enough cafes and restaurants on board with this yet).<br/><br/>Overall we enjoyed it and will be back
Coffeeplease
Such a cool little eclectic place. Chilled vibe, yummy dishes and good coffee. Te sort of place you can chill with some friends for lunch and a chat.
Charlietango
A very cool spot on the coast. Great food, coffee, vibe and price.

Delicious - Will Def Go Back!. This cafe' is definitely up there with the best of them for the Coast / Brisbane. I had the corn fitters with poached eggs, very scrummy and super fresh tasty food. Loved the setting and the decor, very popular - you can see why. Highly recommended for all the cafe' crawlers out there.
Sarahyuii
1st timer- ordered the 'Pulled Pork' off the blackboard. Was really delicious!! Generous serving and the home made style coleslaw with sliced apple through it was so refreshing. Will be back again :)
Peter.hoare
Not as good as it looks. Quite overrated. It looks like it knows what it is doing and is DEFINITELY busy, but on the 4 or 5 occasions I've had brekky there, It was OK but have had way better in plenty of other places. I think it's just the 'in' place at the moment.
Flavoursaver
Um.... YUM!. Gets VERY busy, especially on weekends. Always playing some killer music. Not uncommon for your meal to go missing at its most frantic times. But despite this, still worth the drive from Brisbane! Meals are well priced, with avocado making a big appearance on the menu. The coffee slushies are to die for and the blueberry and banana smoothie packs a punch (beware - it also makes you VERY full). This place also uses really good bread. <br/>Slightly offputting seeing the barista wearing thongs, but hey, each to the own.
Hanah Penrose
Been a couple of times when visiting from Melbourne. Cute cafe - love the decor and ambience. Busy and can be hard to get a table. Food really yummy and coffee good. Had the mushrooms dish, which was fresh, flavoursome and hot. Good crunchy toast. Good serving size. Service okay, but took quite a while for our food to come.
Angela
Coffee was amazing, great vibe, staff were fantastic. Highly recommend & look forward to heading back.

Neat vibe and cool decor. Great Sevice. Best eggs Benedict I've had
KB
Nice vibe but 4 of us had breakfast and all of our poached eggs were over cooked. Disappointing.
Barbara Lndsy
A great sandwich. Unfortunately they stop cooking at 2.30pm but we were lucky to have a couple of their tasty sandwiches in the window! (Turkey, cranberry, brie and salad on pumpkin bread- really tasty!). Banana smoothie was also great. Funky decor.

Yummy coffee and cool decor :)
Will Durden
All the ingredients to be a cool place but the service IS JUST SO SLOW... 30 minutes for a take away smoothie. Don't be in a hurry...
Andrew Kelly
Shabby. There's shabby chic and then there's just plain shabby and unfortunately Commune falls in to the later category for me. I understand the attraction, it's a bit different, it's eco focused, it's communal. Whilst this is fine in order to stand out from the other cafes you must also match it with good food and good coffee. This is lacking at Commune. I ordered a latte to start which came out luke warm and with odd gloopy foam on top. For lunch I ordered a roast beef sandwich which whilst looked good failed in flavour. It tasted more like a sandwich you ordered from the school tuckshop as a kid. There is a small selection of salads, sandwiches and wraps and an all day breakfast menu as well. Sadly I must go against all the hype as Commune failed to live up to the expectation.
Food Lover
Healthy food, good vegeterian options. Funky cafe, yummy meals with veggie options. Friendly staff. Can get really busy and therefore hard to get a table. The view of the gold coast highway isn't great either but the food makes up for it.
Doj.email
Amazing corn fritters and they def do not skimp on the avocado! Also hv to try their Jumping Jimmy- a banana smoothie with 2 shots of espresso. Fantastic. Can't wait to go back again
Ashleigh
Quirky. Small selection of food but great coffee.
Goldtoast Supper Club
Back in the day before Commune I always dreamed of turning the little old butchers shop with the stunning breezeblocks into a cafe. Thank god someone did because it’s a beautiful space. I love the vibe of this place, the vines growing up the outer walls, the mix matched vintage furniture and Campos is always a winner.
My Name Is April
March 10, 2015 Australia , Brisbane Restaurants & Cafes , Fashion , Food , Lifestyle 0 Valentines Day this year started off just the way I like it. With coffee. Waking up as the sun tinged the sky pink, we pulled on our beachy outfits and meandered down to the closest cafe which just so happened to be Commune Cafe in Burleigh Heads. Denim Shorts – Dotti | Top – Valleygirl | Watch – Michael Kors Photo credit: Commune Cafe Facebook – I didn’t think to get an outside shot! Bad food blogger! Decorated with funky retro couches that you would normally find in your grandma’s home and a DIY water station, this place fit the bill as the current trendy breakfast hotspot. Stepping inside, you seat yourself and order at the counter from a basic, yet classic menu. Eggs Benedict with Salmon My gent ordered eggs bene with salmon on some crusty bread whilst I had my usual avocado, GF toast and poached egg. They actually give you a decent serving of avocado which is always nice – I hate when I get skimped on the avocado! Adequately priced, the coffee satisfactory and the food pleasant; it was a great find for such an inconspicuous location. If you weren’t deliberately looking for it, you most likely wouldn’t find it! Once finishing our coffees, we hopped the street and hit the sands for some quick fun in the sun before it got too hot and dangerous for us fair-skinned beings! (It’s cool to be sun smart these days!) Sunscreen lathered on, I was the bravest to enter the water first. Only to find that it wasn&#82

I had the Green Corn Fritters with Avocado, Rocquette and Tomato, served with Chili Jam. Crisp and tender, sweetened by bursts of corn, the fragrance of coriander, and the sweet and spicy chili jam, the fritters were delicious.<br/><br/>Image<br/><br/>Certainly living up to everyone’s praise, to commune with breakfast is Commune Cafe.

... cool, casual beach side cafe. The interior was plastered with band posters and surfing paraphernalia haha!<br/>Service: 7, efficient, well aware of their menu and quick to clear plates.<br/>Food: 7, solid food and drinks. There's too much banana, but since everyone else I know seems to love banana, maybe that's right up your alley haha. I saw some of the other meals floating by and they looked ama

Commune uses Campos coffee beans and the coffee is fantastic! Pricing is on the cheaper end of the spectrum but you get more than what you pay for! Fantastic salads and fluffy blueberry pancakes with coconut icecream and fresh bananas!
Marj Osborne
Yes, Commune is the epitome of an eco-friendly, environmentally aware café, serving wholesome healthy food in generous serving sizes, great coffee and freshly made juices.
Girl Who Does Lunch
The cafe is big on organic, and the shop is stocked with some fashion pieces too. If only they'd fill their food cabinets with as much zeal. Organic is the key here funky decor and funkier patrons Food I guess food is just a minor detail when the word "organic" is mentioned, and I get the feeling

I was soon eyeing off the Huevos Rancheros, Mexican style warm tomato and chilli bean salsa, topped with feta and a poached egg and served with avocado and a warmed tortilla. This breakfast was so fresh, the salsa had a slight chilli tang, and was topped off with a generous quantity of feta, a perfectly gooey egg and plenty of coriander. It made a great dipping sauce for the warmed tortilla.

Dom ordered her default breakfast dish, the mixed mushrooms sautéed with garlic and thyme ($12) with a side of avocado for an extra $3. The fragrantly herby mushrooms – a medley of shiitake, brown and Swiss – are served on a thick slice of organic sourdough with crumbed Persian feta. I can see why Dom hardly strays from this dish – it’s earthy and creamy, and oh so delicious.
