Review Marie Anitas - Burleigh Heads

This place is great. Everything is gluten free and almost everything is dairy free. Lots of options between coffee, bread, muffins, and proper food. I really enjoyed this place. The only call out is that we did have to wait 40 minutes for our food to come out after ordering. I'm not sure if this was a one-off or a regular wait time.

Loved this cafe, was one of my favs for my visit to GC. The only reason for the 4* rating is that it took 40mins to serve breakfast, and there was only two tables ahead of us in dine in. The food itself was delicious and the staff were very friendly and added to the vibe of the cafe. We ordered the big breakfast and the pancakes for breakfast. The big breakfast was tasty but probably had a little too strong a tomato flavour in the smokey beans. My husband really enjoyed the pancakes. A highlight was the caramel and banana muffin and the hot cross bun, oh and also the peppermint and cacao latte! So good!

Glorious! Such a chilled vibe here, with earthy tones and timber everywhere, it’s a very “real” place. Coffee. Soooo good!! And an amazingly delicious selection of tasty treats to suit any sweet tooth. A welcome focus on sustainability, and supporting all the dietary preferences that permeate our society nowadays. This place is well worth a visit for an indulgent treat, or an artisan loaf. Enjoy!

I ordered a Cheese and spinach roll with a large chai latte. The roll had very little flavour and was 11 bucks! Unbelievable... The latte also had no flavour, only to find everything at the bottom. Btw 1 suberb over in Nobbies that's a small cup. Unless you're a tree hugger, don't waste your money. Place is only getting business because lack of competition in area.

I absolutely love this place! The vege “sausage” rolls (how the heck do they taste so good?) and green salad are my favourites. Incredibly wholesome, tasty and beautifully presented food. I Thank you 💛

We visited this place while on family holiday and it was way better than I ever expected! All health food and they make almost all of it on site. We will be back each time we visit the Gold Coast

Came here for breakfast this morning for the first time with my daughter and her partner. I had the breakfast wrap and iced tumeric chai latte, absolutely delicious and incredibly filling, I had to bring the other half home for lunch! Beautiful, healthy, nutritious food for the body and soul made with love 💓 (the pics don't do justice to the food which was so vibrant and colourful)

Purchased bread on Tuesday warm freshly cooked. “My partner is told when waiting it will be 1m before it’s out of the oven - 25m later it’s ready” Get it home, cut it up and leave it to cool then place it in paper bag and leave in cupboard (cool environment) put it in the fridge the next day.. pull it out today to find it’s mouldy. Just over 48 hours after purchase, I’m told it’s a storage issue and should be refrigerated a couple hours after it comes out of the oven? Manager/Owner offered that I can purchase another loaf half price and denied a refund. It’s nice to try and support local business with what they seem to promote however I do not recommend this business at all.

Marie Anita's has the best prepared food I have ever eaten. The food actually nourishes your body, mind. I swear I could feel it nourishing my soul. The intention and care that has gone into the preparation is obvious, the love has made its way into the food. Do your body & mind a favour visit this beautiful place.

Our little family decided to go here this morning for breakfast and to celebrate our special boy's 3rd birthday. What a treat we were all in for. We had a great time and the staff went out of their way to help us enjoy our special birthday breakfast. The food, coffee, and cakes were delish. Thank You everyone in this quirky and quaint cafe. We will visit again when in town.

Absolutely fantastic food and amazing service staff. Would recommend to anyone of any diet, but also great for gluten free and vegans! Will attend here as much as I can on my holiday. Please open a store in Melbourne

The food is delicious and knowing it is organic I’m giving my body maximum nutrition. Great coffee and teas, choose the cosy comfortable interior or bath in balmy sunshine in the rear garden. Service friendly and professional and the veggie pasties are exceptional! 5 stars

Spoilt for choice. Finally a place I can go to not only have gluten free but cane sugar and refined sugar free. So tasty and great value. I’ll be back soon.

Just had the most superb gluten free lunch at Marie Anita's! It is so nice to be able to go into a cafe and order without having to check a number of times to make sure they have noted your gluten free request. Everything here is GF but so good you really can't tell the difference. I'm taking a loaf of the turmeric and black pepper sorghum bread home with me 😀

Looks a lovely menu, bit pricey though. $9 for a smoothie, though it was delicious. $14 for a small bowl of roasted sweet potato chips with a tiny bit of hummus on the side, waaayyy overpriced and I have had better sweet potatoe chips for sure. My friend had a better meal but she paid $30 for it. Nice feel to the cafe atmosphere, good wholesome food, friendly service.

I love this place! Lots of vegan options too AND the bread is GF vegan (so hard to come by!). So yummy and the staff are really friendly and helpful :)

Have to award 5 stars for this coffee, was superbly smooth, creamy & spot on in strength. Well wirth thesteep $5 price tag fir a double shot. I understand it was all organic & everything in the cafe is also gluten free, so a healthy food choice for breakfast & lunches, plus they bake all their own produce on site

This is a best cafe which takes care of the gluten-intolerant society. I am a student at Bond Uni and am looking for a place to rent with a family or housemates who also eats gluten free to avoid cross-contamination,please contact me if anyone would make a kind offer!
Appreciate!
Klyde 0452177105

Such a beautiful and quaint place. The food was delicious and they obviously put a lot into creating a tasty, healthy and GF menu as well as sourcing their ingredients from the best producers. Loved it and can't wait to go back.

With awesome service and great organically locally grown produce. The venue is great for Lunch or Breakfast. The Green Matcha Latte and Organic Mung Bean Tortillas with Tofu was amazing.

Was really excited to try Marie Anita's as the menu looked great. Was however really disappointed. The portion sizes were very small and overpriced, the entree and mains came out together and the coffee was terrible.

Local and organic food and entirely gluten free. Great food, good and lovely staff! It is located out of the Burleigh hub making parking easier and still only a blocks walk to the beach.

We recently spent 3.5 days in the Gold Coast, attending a Buddhist course. We stayed, as usual, in an apartment building. We had great kitchen facilities and shops nearby but given that Maria Anita’s was only 250 metres away, I didn’t cook at all. Everything in this cafe is gluten-free and refined sugar-free, and ingredient quality takes priority. All dishes are made with free-range meats, wild-caught fish, organic produce when possible, etc. There are dairy-free, grain-free and vegan options throughtout the menu.

Went for breakfast and the menu sounded great as it had a good range of healthy food options but very small portions. Coffee was awful, very very over priced.
The service was very, very slow, it was crowded that day though so I will accept that. The food and drinks took a long time to be brought out but when it came out we were all pretty happy, I found my dish (the tortillas) lacked a lot of flavour but i thought maybe it was just the way it was supposed to be with that specific dish. I think my iced chocolate could have definitely had more flavour, there was no icecream, just chocolate powder, ice and milk, it was a bit watery. It was very, very overpriced but I would come back again and try another dish, hopefully next time will be better!

Marie Anita's has an extensive menu for the health conscious. They advertise a gluten free and sugar free menu. We left disappointed, as the food lacked flavour for the price that we paid. The service was lacking as well. A friendly smile wouldn't go astray.

Food sounds amazing, tastes good and very slow service for the few times I've been here. Waited a very long time for cake one Sunday afternoon with only 3 groups of people there. Had to ask where it was and suddenly it appeared. Tasted good though.

We've always had a great meal here. LOVE their amazing muffins all crap free, made with no sugar, almond meal, coconut flour and a good size! Healthy delicious meals and good coffee. In a bit of a cooler spot so bring a jumper but other than that we love it here!

Average food - average service. With quite a few health cafes getting around I like to try them all on the Gold Coast. The food wasn't terrible by any means but I've had much better and I'd rather visit another one and have my taste buds tantalized rather than visit this cafe and have something I could have cooked at home. The service was pretty average.. I was pretty much the only person in the cafe and it took a while to take my order and the woman didn't look pleased to be there, though the food did come out fast.

Great bread, not great service. Marie Anita's makes some of the best gluten free bread in the country. Their coffee is good too. Well worth the stop off to get a loaf of bread. However, we waited 50 minutes for lunch on a Saturday, lunch was overpriced and not very tasty, so wouldn't recommend it for lunch or breakfast, just for a takeaway pastry or loaf of bread.

Terrible service & rediculous wait. This was worst dining experience Ive had in long time.
When we arrived the lady at the counter (owner?) told us to sit down and she would come over. She bought us water and said she'd return for our drinks order, she never came back. After 25 minutes our drinks orders were taken by a young waiter, along with our food order. Another 25 minutes passed before our iced coffees covered in coffee grounds & a warm smoothie arrived. Over 50 mins after arrival. About 15 minutes later food arrived. We asked for ice for the smoothie and were advised that she maybe able to scrape some dregs up for us. How appealing?! The dregs were bought out, not enough tiny scrapes to cool down a warm smoothie on a 36° day.
Everything was bad
A painful and infuriating experience. NEVER AGAIN

Delicious, amazing food. I've been here a few times. It's one of those places I just can't stop visiting. I find nothing better than having delicious, organic, locally sourced food. Even better, knowing it's gluten free and there's a bunch of vegan options. I have had one bad experience, of course it was on a day where I was trying to convince my sister she needed to eat here. It was one of those days where we were watching people who arrived well after us place their orders and receive their food before us! I think the total wait time for us was 1 hour, maybe a little longer - we were close to walking. We got our drinks...eventually...and the food came out when the tea pot was empty. So, my sister won't be back. Me, although disappointed by that experience, I have been back. I find comfort in knowing what I put into my body and with Marie Anita's, there's no stress. I know what I'm getting, I know there's no hidden animal products or dairy products, or gluten! I know they choose only the best ingredients. Of the meals I've had, they've all been mind blowing, not a single bad dish. Despite my one poor experience with service, I haven't experienced it again. I love this place.

Great atmosphere just very slow service and overpriced for what it is. I came here for lunch and it was a beautiful setup but they were so understaffed only one on the floor so I waited for ages to be served then ended up going to the counter to order only to receive our order an hour later my halo I was way too salty and I love salt but even for me it was too salty and rubbery I was very disappointed sorry. Bread was very nice though and the girl did try her best to keep everyone happy on her own.

If you have special dietary needs, or just love good clean healthy food, this place will tickle your satisfaction. Everything is gluten free! And there are heaps of dairy free option too. Marie and her mother are passionate about there venue from the great service side to artisan food. Oh yeah, great coffee too!

This gluten-free, sugar-free health café caters for a range of diners who are often overlooked on other menus: those who want or need dairy free, sugar-free, vegetarian, vegan and/or raw food.
