A pleasant 15min walk from my mum's at Penguin Parade, its the best Fish & Chips shop I have. Cod and snapper is the best of the lot, & their chips are amazing! Enjoyed the sit in & eat... comfortable.

Super soggy battered fish. Went for the dory and it was a good portion but left most as the batter was terrible. The salmon special was excellent! The salads also pretty good which is why a 4 star and not a two star. Normally there battered fish here is good but today was disgusting.

Have been here before and food is always good except last night, we ordered grilled flake and it was like an extra well done steak. Dry and leathery. Potato cakes and calamari were delicious but flake was dry and inedible. The batter surrounding the seafood sticks was very stodgy. Will be back but won’t be ordering those items.

Great place for lunch. Service was awesome all round. We had salmon and salad. Huge pieces of fish and absolutely delicious. Seems super busy, but very fast food service. Will definitely eat here again.

Best fish & chips in the world, no cap. Staff always friendly, just bought some chip & fish gave me an extra piece of fish what legends. Always consistent, I recommend 110% get the flathead & chips extra chicken salt it'll be the best day of your life to date. A+++

I remember this as the best fish and chip place around but it's no longer the case. I ordered crumbed flathead that tasted old and was left half uneaten. The lady who served me did offer another fish but I declined as I didn't have time.

Not a happy customer. As a long time Burleigh local my son and I attended Fishmongers Burleigh Heads this Saturday night, our once a fortnight eating out experience. We usually eat takeaway from either of Govindas Burleigh, Montezumas Burleigh or Justins Lane Pizza (Burleigh). My order was taken by a young boy and was simple enough - two servings of fish & chips. After waiting some 40 minutes for our order we left to eat our takeaway fare down the beach. To my great disappointment, and my son's dismay, one of the two servings was without any fish. At the time of placing my order, the young boy who served me seemed far from assured of what he was doing. He was pleasant enough but just plain unassured. Needless to say, my son and I will not be attending Fishmongers again any time soon!

Seafood plate for 2. Larger than expected portion sizes. Prawns and scallops were knock out good. Ceasar Salad was just right, although anchovies would of set it off the charts.

The fish was very fresh and oysters - amazing! Excellent ambiance. Great way to end the weekend on a high positive note and a great way to catch up with the family when they are in town! Very lively! Go to this place often and always order the salmon and oysters!

Fresh seafood was great- oysters and prawns. Unfortunately fish and chips where very poor. Dry chips and very small dry amount of fish. Being so close to the beach i found this surprising and disappointing!

Popped by for a late take away lunch. Fish and chips, the grilled whiting was excellent, so was the battered flat head tails. All in all a bit pricey for what it is, but it was a reasonable quality and well packed for takeaway. Bit different to the old school fish and chip shop, positions itself mid market.

I had a good experience here for takeaway fish and chips. It was a busy Sunday lunch and we waited 10-15min for our food. I had crumbed fish and chips which had a real crunchy crumb but with a bit of oil oozing onto my chips. I like that it came with a piece of lemon and tomato and taste sauce sachets. I also had a pumpkin salad which tasted pretty good with avo and pine nuts.

Great reputation around Burleigh, but I'm sorry, closing your venue for orders at 7:30pm on a Saturday night is absolutely absurd.<br/><br/>James St is the local hub, and we were told that they simply can't keep up with orders if they allow people to walk in after 7.30. How about expand and grow your business, as people are clearly demanding it?<br/><br/>It's embarrassing when your customers who just snuck their orders in before close, are out the front discussing how bad it is with other customers who've been turned away. Would be highly rated otherwise. Shame.

Had a lovely fish and sweet potato chip meal after work. My first time here and although the shop was staffed by kids i took the meal back to my hotel and loved it. The fish was a beautiful thick piece of snapper. Sweet potato chips a tad on the oily side but yummyyyyyy!!<br/>

Terrible. Ordered at 5.30 and told 25min wait. Finally got our order 50min later. Rude staff. The fish was nice enough but the chips horrible. We couldn't eat them as the salt they used has sugar in it and sugar on hot chips is horrible.

Scallops from Japan, fish from Vietnam and prawns from Indonesia. Clearly don't like fresh seafood or supporting our country. Gross. Children working in store took wrong order and take forever are not trained.

Tried fish and chips on the Labour Day long weekend. Chips OK. A bit salty, but you can shake that off. Fish (supposedly 3 whiting fillets but really 1 fillet cut into 3) was inedible. So overcooked it amounted to a dark, hard shell with a thin layer of white tasteless paste inside. I hate wasting even bad food so I tried eating the others' that they rejected but all were the same. The cook should have thrown these out and started again, but perhaps on very busy days they just don't care.
