Review The Local Burleigh Heads - Burleigh Heads

Been meaning to eat here since its opening.... Did not disappointed.! We rate our dinner as the best we have experienced in our 4 years on the GC. Every dish was sensational. Add the perfect music & lighting to give an exciting funky atmosphere. Already planning to return...

Food is good and nice atmosphere inside. Our chef friend recommended us of curry, bao and fried rice. You can really taste the flavour of the fish curry. Korean chicken bao is spicy and nice and fried rice is decent. Not much to complain about the experience. Just missing something a bit more special or signature!

This restaurant was on my food trying list for a while due to the creation and idea of the food. We booked the table the night before and specifically asked for 2 high chairs. The moment we got there, we were told there was only one left and the other one wouldn't be available for another 2 hours. This is very unprofessional. Although, the staff end up borrowing one from a restaurant next door, attention to detail of your customer's booking description ability needs to be improved. In terms of the food, the portion of food you get is very small for the price you paid, 4 pieces of small dumplings costs $16. The chef special fried rice didn't feel like it was freshly out of a wok, it feels more like it was pre cooked. Luckily, flavor is not too much of let down. Environment was nice and bright, decoration was pretty and chic. Music was really loud, if you want to talk to someone on the same table, you need to yell. Consider it's an open kitchen style restaurant, the music plays well to cover up the loud kitchen noises. Not recommend for young babies though.

Had our 19th Wedding Anniversary lunch there, after recommendation from a friend. We were fitted in at the last minute. Food is Amazing, overall service was good, but had great advice from one of the guys on meal options, they were very busy, so took a little longer to get around to people. Will definitely go back again.

Simply Amazing, great food and drinks in a nicely decorated space with excellent staff and great service. The food here is asian inspired bliss. The dishes are sublime and made to share (but you will not want to share!). Very good value for money and taste so good. The cocktails and drinks are also very good. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Amazing as always. The food is so delicious, everything I’ve tried here has been worthy of 5stars.

We’ve been a fan of Light Years when it was only the small little place in the back streets in Byron Bay. So glad they’ve expanded up the coast into Queensland. It is a lot bigger than the restaurant in Byron and is very well put together. Food is top notch and the fish curry was amazing. It has to be one of the best fish curries we’ve had in a very long time. Dishes are all perfect for sharing. Highly recommend Light Years for any occasion.
