Review Maria's Fish & Chips - Burpengary

We brought Maria's fish and chips tonight for tea as hubby had to go back to work tonight by 9pm it was horrible the fish was tasteless being barramundi the chips didn't even come the calamari was off and the prawns were tasteless. It cost us $55 and we could not eat it. I was so upset it was like burning a $50 note. I had to put the whole meal in the bin. I'm so upset. I don't know how anyone can send food out like this. Don't buy from this company it's sad because they use to be so good. Now they are so bad.

This is a pic of the quality one gets nowadays.. food was cold and fish dis-membered as picture clearly shows. Waste of money and going straight in the bin... They need to up their game to keep loyal customers!

I love their food and their burgers taste great . I went there for the first time 7 months ago, the food was great . Went back hundreds of times since . However recently I miss the girl with the black hair and tanned skin who always make burgers probably isn't working there anymore as i haven't seen her in a while , she especially makes my steak lot burgers amazingly and the really tall boy with the hat that works there gives good service . The cooks are really good at making their food too ! Great work !

Me and my family are well fed and enjoyed everything, especially the flake, chips and calamari. For young boys that work there thank you. Side note, I over hear some people get angry waiting for 45minutes to an hour, but you have to understand that this place makes great food and on Friday nights it gets busy, so order ahead.

Long wait even though we ordered by phone. The chips were ok but the Barra we ordered was Cod, oily tasting that I couldn't eat it. Will try somewhere else for our fish and chips which is usually a treat once a month. 20 dollars for two pieces of cod not Barramundi as ordered and small chips.

Has really gone down hill and fast after changing ownership multiple times. soggy, oily food and no chicken salt multiple times when requested. Smaller and smaller servings each time, have left feedback instore and was just told we were wrong. Photo was of what was supposed to be $8 of chips with salt and clearly was neither

My dad does uber eats delivery and he's been meaning to try Maria's fish and chips for a while now. Today we finally got some and it was marvellous. Everything was cooked perfectly and tastes great. Nice

The fish is fresh, awesome calamari rings, and soft scallops. The chips are pretty average, but I'm not huge fan of chips anyway.

We decided to go here as the cravings for fish and chips got too much. My fiancé ordered a bacon burger, asked for no tomato but what she received was 2 pieces of bacon on a cold bun burger with tomato and 2g of lettuce, she ended up throwing hers in the bin unfortunately.<br/><br/>I went with a traditional approach, fish and chips with a few sides and calamari, extremely oily. Probably the worst part of the experience is the fact that there didn’t seem to be any managerial role in sight, it was a bunch of teenagers running the joint. They were all talking usual teenage antics while cooking food, even down to asking people “what’s ya number?” To those waiting in a typical tone.<br/><br/>Maria’s Fish & Chips run by teenage boys, no worries.

Overall very happy with all the food we have had. Kayne is very helpful and always seems happy and ready to help. Great burgers! chips have come a long way, nice and crunchy and always fresh. Our only feedback is that salads on the burgers go on top of the patties and you need to add grated carrot too :) we will continue to come back for a great feed ! Well done

Worst fish and chips I have had. Tried this pace because the other local store was closed due to their fire and we wont be back! Was missing 5 pieces of calamari, everything was soggy and greasy. We asked for chicken salt and got no salt at all. Asked for extra chips to feed 2 adults and received enough for maybe 1, and we asked for cod and were given flake!!

Was pleasantly surprised got the fisherman basket 2 I got a battered piece of fish that was cooked perfectly ( not always like that around here) and chicken salt and chips were awesome could of got more chips in that basket not sure which serve that comes in that meal deal could of been 1 serve me and my bf usually get more so :) overall very satisfied it's hard to get good fish and chips!! Service was good as well as prompt!!

Food is generally ok, but the wait for a simple order is just too much. single serve of chips during a non busy period (mid afternoon with no one else around) can take over 20 mins.  Place seems to be run by teenagers with no smiles or life left in them.  In a pinch they're ok, but would prefer just to go to the bakery next door with amazing service.
