If you love high quality, healthy and delicious food, this is the place. Not only does the food look awesome, the taste is amazing and really refreshing. Staff were very friendly and welcoming as well. Definitely will come again.

Beautiful outdoor cafe with pretty and tasty food. There was a bit of wait for a table on the weekend but you can order drinks/snacks from a little window on the side while you wait. Once we got in everything was great. The furikake salmon tartine, coffee and chocolate milkshake were my favourite!

It was my first time there I liked the place, it's different in its own way Staff are super nice and friendly Food was 😋 😋 😋 Drinks are so good and refreshing 🙃 I'm going back there again to try something different and new 😊

Great selection of breakfast, brunch and lunch items. To get here you can park the car next to Burwood Park or it's a short distance from Westfields. Has a great outdoor tent that shields you from the rain. Some birds do visit and sit under the tent railings so beware. Most dishes are fusion Australian, very delicious.

The service is ok. The chicken schnitzel is so-so for a $23 but the salmon tartane is recommended. We also ordered the ice green tea and watermelon lychee which is so refreshing. The coffee is also nice.

Surprisingly to find a cafe inside of Burwood park! The mocha pancake is out of my expectation, the right level of sweetness with homemade sauces, highly recommended. Ordered a soy flat white, better than Campos.

Food was unreal, so good and menu looked excellent! Service was nice, staff friendly! Could do with a freshn up!

This place is the best in Burwood. Especially if you are looking for best breakfast options. Coffee from their barista Thomas is the best. Definitely recommended. Did I mention the outdoor setting is so relaxing. ❤️

The veiw is good, a bit pricy based on portion maybe due to location. Taste is fine.
But, when it's closed to over an hour, we realize that more people come and no table and we did finish so we are getting going, a wait stuff came to tell us that there was a time limit for dining here. I told him, as you can see we are about to leave, with smile. He reacted very victimized and said hey i am just saying...... blah blah, Well great, half of the pleasure if seeing friends was ruined by this piece of customer service. I just want to say, stay cool, no biggie, over sensitive and playing victim is not for good customer service.

Expensive small portions, they have dramatically reduced the serving size since last year but the price is the same. Service is not that good, depends on which person is assisting you and there has always been a minimum 30 minute wait for food every time I have been here. Not a fan of the loud pop music they play and how unsanitary it is for pigeons to fly onto the tables to pick at unfinished food. Also, tends to be very packed on weekends.

There is no any reason for me to come back again, waiting for my food for a very long time & the snitz was the worst one... only 1 small chicken schnitzel & a spoon of salad. Even i can get a better one from the frozen food

Tried the Burwood burger and cappuccino. I would recommend the Burwood burger. It was filling and a delicious meal. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Nice decor too 😁

We went to the picnic this morning for breakfast and they served us an iced coffee with off milk. When we asked the waitress if the milk was off she went to check and informed us that it was off. They still made us pay for the drink, did not apologise and in fact were quite rude in the manner of their service. We are both sick to the stomach both from the milk and their appalling service. Will not be returning here anytime soon.

The one star is for the friendly service. Both my mom and I vomited right after breakfast, we wanted to take a walk in the park but had to rush to Westfield bathroom. Flys everywhere (fine, it’s summer) but tables are sticky. Watery coffee, overpriced juice. Presentation is very nice but food is for people’s stomach not just instagram people!
Carol Hong
Not dog friendly. my two dogs was forced to sit at the end of the table in the sun on a 32C day
Sciclunamia
Great location in Burwood Park opposite the Westfields. Good service, got seated straight away during Sunday at lunchtime and lots of photo opportunities. Great food (I recommend the chicken schnitzel) and great vibes!

Super aesthetic café and always bustling when I visit. I got the cheeky chia which was nice and light on the stomach. The sorbet was delicious and helped contrast the richness of the chia pudding and granola. The Boss was also really tasty and I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a savoury option.

Customer service was top notch. The guy serving us could tell I didn’t like the pigeons so he got another waiter to be keep them away with a spray bottle which was nice of him!

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

I recently visited the picnic at Burwood and it was a great experience. The staff were friendly, service was good and the food was delicious. I love the way they set up the fries with my chicken schnitzel and the juices were amazing. Highly recommend and definitely be back

Super cute cafe with great vibes! Staff are always so friendly and the food is of high quality.
The acai bowl was so cute and absolutely delicious. Their french toast is also a winner - aesthetic for the gram as well.
The breakfast board was such a wonderful combination of dips and snacks, it definitely left me feeling satisfied.
We will be back!

Looks good and taste good! Can’t complain. Opposite Westfields right in front of the park easy to find. Staff are also very friendly. Nice and Chilled atmosphere. If you can’t decide what to eat ask one the staff can’t go wrong!

The Picnic Burwood is situated in easily accessible Burwood Park. It is an alfresco dining experience with the main dining area under a canopy with clear plastic windbreakers. There are also rugs available if you prefer to spread out in the park, which would make an easy and romantic picnic date. We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we ordered. It has made our list of Cafe’s to revisit.
Jasmine
Very pretty looking dishes. But tastes on the other hand are average, I found that nothing is exceptional. Good for Instagram photos. The plave is very hot during summer.
Shirley
This place is just a tad too hyped. I mean the atmosphere is amazing and serene and the food is pretty good, but not spectacular. The staff are also quite friendly and wait time average.
Kiana @ FoodFeels_Sydney
Great atmosphere! Our Sydney version of ivy in LA ! Haha Fresh food an great coffee! They have awesome açai and dragon bowls! The staff is always friendly! Love this place

The Picnic at Burwood Park is a cafe that has been on my list of places to go for quite sometime now. Unfortunately busy crowds has restricted my ability to get a table in time. This time though I picked a weekday so we were definitely getting a table on what happened to be a horribly steamy hot day. The Picnic is perhaps one of Burwood’s most popular spots for brunch, and rightly so! I’m yet to hear anything bad about the place, so you can imagine I was pretty excited about the food.
Joyce Lorbest
Went here for a brunch with a friend. Experience was great. Loved the food. Friendly staffs and excellent service. Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely going back here.
Alison
The food was average, the place is overrated and expensive. The quality and flavours of the food did not match up to its price but it was enjoyable and I enjoyed the experience.
On the bright side, the drinks were refreshing especially on a hot day. Service was nice and attentive and the atmosphere was pretty. Overall, I would not visit again if I was given the choice.
Foodiejunkie
This is the cutest outdoor cafe that you can find
in Burwood and has been on my list of cafes to try for so long. Anyways, I got the chance to try the breakky in this amazing place and let me tell you that it did not disappoint. Their acai bowl was so good and their coffee was great, also the staff were very friendly and service was fast though it gets really busy during weekends. I really enjoyed my visit to The Picnic and will come back again and again cos one time is not enough!

10/10 would brunch again!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even just the setting of this café was super cute think, a beautiful outdoor picnic with lots of beautiful flowers, cute little tables... with the comfort of an established café space all nestled in the center of burwood park.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I found the menu super intriguing, there was a fusion of Asian, Middle Eastern, and more traditional Australian flavors all mixed together into some quirky takes on some of my breakfast favorites.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I went with the picnic favorite. Chunky avocado, zaatar, tomato, mint, labneh, sliced almonds and pomegranate on sourdough with a side of bacon, paired (of course) with a skinny iced latte.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The coffee was fantastic on such a hot summers day ... it was rich, balanced, and just the perfect way to start the day.

The bacon was cooked to the perfect level of crispiness and the avocado toast was fresh, and just delicious.

I absolutely loved the pomegranate that was sprinkled over the dish. Giving you this amazing burst of sweet freshness every so often.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Did I mention that this place was also super instagramable 💁🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We will definitely be back!

Arrived to the cafe around 240pm Saturday 12th January 2019. My friend and I ordered two drinks and two meals. However, we saw that another pair (that came later than us) receive their drinks and food. When enquired about the drinks and meal 35 minutes after being served, the waiter/waitress failed to notice that the order had not been put through. Normally I would be fine and accept that mistakes were made, but in a time slot with minimal customers, it would seem odd that the workers did not notice that two customers had no drinks and food after 35 minutes. Would be happier if a review was to be made on the workers so that these mistakes did not occur again.

The food is absolutely delicious there were so many different components to the dish which delivered a mouth full of unique flavours. The only downside to this cafe is that it is in the outdoors and it being in Sydney the weather is temperamental whilst the time I was there it rained then it was perfectly sunny. It also means that the pigeon are always trying to come to you to snatch your food. Overall the cafe is delightful and the service was good.
FrenchieFoodie
Good customer service, the coffee is really good, small menu wish means that the food is fresh. The plates look amazing. Go during summer to enjoy the mist to cool you down. The Picnic is one of my favourite cafe in Sydney.

I love its concept since I love flower and cappuccino here is amazed, all the staff were amazing and friendly. Wild Rice with Salmon was really fulfilling and yummy.
Photogenic place
Come back here really soon

It’s nice to have a refreshing cafe in Burwood, with delicious food that’s also aesthetically appealing. Try The Picnic if you’re looking for a relaxing place to enjoy a good coffee and some delicious food.

Food here is expensive for what you get - tried the picnic breakfast board, wasn't worth $24. Minimal serving size and flat bread was not fresh.

Service was alright, attentive.
Foodieperth
Now I’m sorry, I don’t usually write bad reviews, but the service here was appalling and it needs to be addressed. We arrived as a table of 4 at 11am, and told to wait around 30 mins for a table. We thought that was fine, we were seated at around 11:30. Then when we tried to order food, they told us that we weren’t allowed to order food. We asked them when we could order food, and they said ‘I don’t know’. We then asked a different waitress to order, and they began yelling at our table that we ‘couldn’t order yet’. Shame about their service, I really wanted to try their pancakes.

Decor is amazing here, and the food looks very aesthetic and tasted pretty decent too. Coffee was also nice. Be warned, prices are not frugal, and your probably paying more for the aesthetic.
Service was quick and friendly, promptly and politely answering questions about the menu.
Lots of large tables so good for groups, wasn’t too busy during brunch on a weekday.
One complaint is the pigeons inside the green house- this is a difficult one to solve but it made me a little uncomfortable the amount of birds in the place 😂
Overall, 4 stars- verging on 3
HANGRYSAB
Set in a lovely outdoor area, the Picnic is home to my favourite açai bowl. It has the perfect flavour and texture, and is topped with various fruit, granola and coconut shavings. I’ve been to many places to eat açai, but will always come back here.
In their lunch menu, the schnitz is amazing! The batter is very different to what you would receive at your average bistro. It is served with fries (sweet potato fries available too for an extra fee), a mayo to dunk them in, and a nice coleslaw. I would highly recommend these 2 dishes!
I have tried both the chicken and beef burgers and in my opinion I would not order these again. The beef seems to almost always be overcooked, and the bread ends up being so soggy that it disintegrates.
In terms of drinks, their Egyptian princess is the way to go! It’s a nice refreshing tea with freshly sliced orange and lychee inside.
Service here is inconsistent - when it is busy food can take a while to come with no updates from staff. However when brought to the attention of staff, they were extremely apologetic and did a great job of rectifying the problem.

Situated in Burwood park, the picnic offers a botanical and tranquil ambience to escape from the concrete jungle. It’s definitely a picturesque cafe worth visiting!

Upon arrival, we were immediately seated by friendly staff. The food did take a while to come out, however it was delicious nonetheless. There was a great variety of dishes to select from and the coffee art was super cute!

Parking was easy to find. We parked around the corner of the park.

Came here last Saturday and although it was quite a busy morning, the service was nevertheless efficient. Ordered the shakshuka and the breakfast board-both were ok. Sweets and cakes looked promising though.

Love this place! Good food located inside Burwood Park. Love the açaí bowl and prawn linguine that we have ordered! Definitely gonna come back again! The only down side: too many birds flying around, my head was almost hit for couple times.
Sandy.Ch
A must visit place for every tourist
Loved the decoration,ambiance and location
Food is so good !!!
Good service and nice staff
Highly recommended !!!

Nice atmosphere and cute decor, but disappointed with their food quality. I ordered the singer burger - fried chicken with tomato, slaw, and cheese. The burger come out cold, fried chicken is cold inside out and hard to chew. Prawn linguine and brown rice with salmon are OK. Not overly satisfied with the food quality here as you can’t go wrong with burger. Not returning.
Fiona
I ordered a few burgers with my family, very happy with the fries, the burger was pretty mediocre but in a good way, a classic and very visually pleasing
Samantha Lee
Fun decore, great food, good service! Can’t go wrong for a catch up with friends ☀️☀️ Nb: better for small groups than big as it’s already quite noisy..hard to hear people across the table
Giovanni Jana
Nutella Gaytime Pancake!! Available for limited time only. They have a very comforable and unique place. So garden-look-like and food is so instagramable. Unfortunately i only tried their dessert, but definitely will come and and try their savories!
Sarah Chocoholic
The food and drinks were very nicely presented and I rate 5 stars for that. But when it comes to the taste , honestly I would give a 2/5. I’ve ordered the French toast ( not so French ) and it was oily and the cream on top of was too creamy, it doesn’t make me feel like continuing my next bite. For the sweet potato fries, it was wayyy toooo soft.... it should be crispy, I barely can feel the texture of it. And for the drink, I’ve ordered a hot mocha, and it was way too much water in it. My stomach wasn’t happy after that. The price is a bit overpriced as well, for the portion given. I said this out of love, and would love to see the improvement in the food and drinks after this 🙂 even though it’s a busy cafe. But I love the location as it’s at a park in Burwood. Overall rating I would give 2/5.

Enjoyed a nice brunch today at The Picnic.
Little bit pricey, loud-ish atmosphere as today was a Saturday and very kids friendly, staff was average, average food and drinks.
Parking is easy- right outside Westfield. Easy accessible location and only a short walk from the train station.

Today I ordered The Schnitz and the Burwood Burger.

The Schnitz: A little bit tasteless imo. Looked good and sides with sweet potato chips. Also came with delicious sauce.
Burwood burger: more recommended.
Classic Burger with beef patty nicely cooked, however nothing stands out in particular. Would happily eat it again though.
Kylie
Always go to there in weekend. It’s better to go in summer and spring as outdoor for winter is too cold.
My favourite is salmon! Add extra avocado or egg if you want.
Mary Tran
Breakfast menu quite mediocre but still enjoyable and not too fatty. We ordered the Nourish Bowl and Rick Rosti- not bad but the potato fritter was too dense. It would be better off to have everything on the all-day menu as we waited an hour to order off lunch menu. Chicken schnitzel was still raw + undercooked and sweet potato fries too oily. Cashier lady also gave us the wrong bill and overcharged. It wasn’t even busy. Have heard good reviews but the one time we decide to visit it was the total opposite, very disappointing
Sweet Rain
It was my first time going to such an amazing cafe. I ordered Not So French and for a drink i got Blueberey & Lime Soda. Although the french toast was a small portion, the accompaniment of the different textures of the elements presented, made it sweet and filling. I also had a taste of the Pink Dragon bowl and Goggle Bowl and Watermelon & Lychee drink which were equally as tasty.
My friends and I came during a busy time, so we had to wait 20 minutes for a seat, but we were fine waiting for it, and it was worth it. The interior was really aesthetic and combined with the food served, can be redeemed as an Instagramable place.
Prathma Sharma
Went for breakfast with family. I'm glad that we decided to go there. The ambience is awesome ♥️, with the roses nearby and the frequent water mist being sprayed. The food too matches the expectations. A must visit!
Joanna Luong
Love the concept, as the location is situated in a park, and the interior really lets you feel like you are having a picnic. Food is delicious, but the Caesar salad I ordered had a bit too much dressing. I would say the brunch place is more for Spring and Summer, not sure how it would feel during the colder seasons since it’s situated outdoors. But overall would recommend especially for families.
Ponkychick23
Get the hot cakes. The photo is the dragon fruit smoothie bowl though. Food is quickly served, very aesthetically pleasing environment. A way to improve would be to allow split payment i.e each person of group pays for their own meal
Christina Nguyen
oh my lord the flies. the food was great, very unique but i had a hard time deciding what to get. we both finished our dishes which were amazing ! the cups offered at the self serve table were dirty... but yeah the bugs were inevitable on a warm day like today. amazing place for photos !
Evannaliu0711
Really sweet place, there is no kind of cafe like the Picnic! ❤️ great for friends to hang out, dating even birthday party. Highly recommended if you looking for beautiful cafe
WesternSydneyFoodie
Came to the picnic the other week and ordered the chilli scrambled eggs and had a taste of the French toast. Both dishes were really tasty and I was left satisfied. The coffee was also decent (Campos?). Whilst both dishes were yum the portions are a bit smaller compared to other cafes. The atmosphere was really lovely and service was great. As I live around 40 minutes away it’s not a place I would always travel to but it’s definitely a place to try out.

I've been to this place 3 times. First time I went I went with my boyfriend and our food honestly took so long and we found that they had forgotten or misplaced our order. it happens and I get it. We went back for the 2nd time and our food took 50 minutes to come out - acai bowl and a picnic breakfast board and we said we wouldn't come back. I met up with 2 of my girlfriends for lunch today and my acai bowl came out in 15mins? which was great! My 2 friends ordered picnic breakfast boards (two boards in total) and we waited for 50 minutes which was ridiculous yet again. By the time their food came I had finished my acai bowl and in 15 minutes time another girl came to give me another acai bowl - thinking I didnt recieve it. I didnt take it as I had already had one already but seriously there are so many staff members and they need to be more trained and aware of what goes in and out. Maybe have designated areas for each waitstaff members.
Jessica Ferguson
I came here to catch up with a work friend. We both ordered the same thing - the picnic breakfast board and their lemon and mint drink. The location is perfect, and as it's in the middle of the park at Burwood you are close to public transport and Westfield, but have a view of the park instead of the traffic. Service was quick and attentive. My friend and I were approached by staff a number of times as we were chatting so much we kept forgetting to look at the menu! The staff were very patient with us though and didn't rush us. The food was good, although I have had better Middle Eastern food in other restaurants. I am a huge fan of the lemon mint drink at Al Aseel, and their version is definitely nowhere near as good as Al Aseel's. I would return with friends who haven't been before due to the beautiful location (it's certainly a talking point!).
Serenia Lee
The cafe is very nicely decorated and location is good! Great to come on a sunny day for so lunch! The food was just okay but wasn’t as amazing as the hype said it was. Service was fast and friendly. Had to wait 30mins for a table but they allowed us to walk around the area and would just message you when your table is ready. Overall it was an okay experience!
Justin C
Wait was 30 minutes for a table. Food took another 45 minutes to arrive. The table and seat was drenched in water from the mist that was constantly spraying. Food was underwhelming - I ordered wild rice with salmon. The salmon was overcooked and skin was not crispy. Would not recommend this cafe as this was a very disappointing experience.
Natnatchoo
unfortunately our food took 45 minutes to come. other tables that came later were served first. there iS 2% surcharge for cards. the mist kept running continuously and leaving everything on our table wet. I wonder if the water used in the mist sprays are clean......

This cafe definitely lives up to its name!!! Situated in Burwood park, is a gorgeous layout of florals and picnic tables. The menu has a mix of your standard Sydney breaky and some with a middle eastern twist! I will definitely be back!!!

(2.5/5.0) The Picnic Burwood is a colourful and vibrant cafe at Burwood Park. The standalone cafe features a spacious courtyard with whitewashed wooden tables and striking coloured chairs. The front of the cafe is a small masonry hut decorated with flowers and plants. The menu offers several instagram-worthy dishes and it is unsurprising that they are one of the most popular cafes in town.

I began my day with a flat white. The flat white has a decent mixture of espresso and milk, though the proportion of espresso is slightly greater than it should be and the coffee tasted slightly bitter.

I ordered “Not so French” for my brunch, a French toast sitting on top of colourful berries, watermelons, strawberry gel, baklava crumble and the attention-seeking Persian floss. The dish was as good as it sounds, but not exceptional. The French toast has a firm and solid crust to support the weight of all the ingredients while the lovely floss and crumble added texture and vibrancy to the dish. A worthy meal under the hot sun!
Babe
The food looks pretty and great for a photo to share on instagram or Facebook.
But the food is very average and bit pricey and not that tasty.
Won’t come back again I believe.

Love this place...great vibes! Been here 5 or 6 times over past 18 months and its coffees are divine and food is always awesome...delicious and presented very uniquely. Always exceeds my expectations! A very happy customer😊😊

Went here on a Friday morning which wasn't too busy. Small, beautifully designed place located in the park. Friend and I ordered the French Toast (quite pricey for a small portion) but nonetheless looked and tasted great. Also ordered the Pineapple & Passionfruit drink and the Berry Smoothie. Couldn't really taste the passionfruit as much as the pineapple.
We actually met the owner of the café and he asked how our food was. No complaints were given however my friend mentioned that her Berry Smoothie didn't taste like that described and he kindly removed it from the bill.
Ellylovestoeat
Came here on a Saturday morning was very busy. Waited 15 minutes to be seated and missed the breakfast menu. But not a problem as the lunch menu was equally as deliciously inviting to try. Nourish bowl was amazing, downfalls my poached egg was slightly over cooked, other downfall was the superfood juices were not fresh as we thought they would be. Came in a small bottle for the same price as a freshly squeezed juice. Other than that location was amazing and service was good too :)
Susan
A beautiful cafe that definitely makes it feel like a picnic at the park 👌🏼. With such a large menu the food came out surprisingly fast on a busy arvo. The food was full of flavour and I will definitely be back ! The only thing that I would change is having the breakfast menu as all day 😭
Lena Mountford
Ordered a serve of toast and was given it cold, I kindly ask the waitress for a new serve of toast and she gave me attitude and was arguing with me. She told me she’d warm it up in the microwave and when I got it back it was soggy and gross. Terrible service, what a joke

Pink Dragon : 😍 Amazing
Nourish Bowl : 😍Amazing
Mumma’s Balls : 😍 Amazing
Egyptian Princess : 😍 Amazing
Berry King Smoothie : 😍 Amazing
Service : 😍 Amazing

Great place to come and have brunch. Often gets busy even during the weekday so come in early. The food is amazing (as you can see). Very flavourful with lots of different elements and dishes are all insta-worthy. Great atmosphere being smack bang in the middle of a beautiful park with amazing service.
Jessica
Beautifully decorated outdoor cafe which is on par with the gorgeous presentation of their dishes. Their Not so French is a sweet dish that is very refreshing and is topped with seasonal fruits. Definitely try the sweet potato fries as they are super crisp and tasty. If you are looking for a healthier option, I would recommend the Nourish bowl - however it wasn't as delicious as the other dishes.

I absolutely love the picnic, from the cute concept to the abundant amount of flowers (even if they are fake)!

Outdoor Garden cafes are definitely on the rise, and it’s so nice to be able to have a slice of paradise right here in Burwood!.
Cute Photo opportunities out the front with the flower wall and bike.. Not only is it great on cold days, but it’s also fantastic in this 40 degree heat wave which is Sydney!

They actually have water mist spraying out of the ceiling (don’t ask me how they come up with this magic but i love it!). Definitely my favourite Cafe in Burwood thus far.

Love the breakfast options (I recommend the nourish bowl & the Dragonfruit Smoothie Bowl). Visited one of the most popular place to eat brunch in Sydney! The location was nice as is it fairly close to the station and quite many seatings as well. Small latte - $4.00. Pavlova Hotcake - $18.50. Soft pancake with house made coconut crumble, berries, meringue, lemon curd, passion fruit cream and mango sorbet
Amy
Great coffee and food although the acai bowl portion was rather small so I was still quite hungry afterwards. I love the location of the cafe, very family friendly with a great vibe! Love the presentation of the food and coffee, very pretty. The staff are extremely friendly and observant which is much appreciated
Sean Wu
Known this spot for a while, first time been hear, absolutely worth trying, fresh and good fruits, well balanced texture, kale chips very crispy and most importantly “not over seasoned”. Very good Saturday brunch experience. BTW, you can sit on the Burwood park lawn in case you want, gonna be fun with kids

Fairy lights, ivy, floral and checkered table cloths set the scene in Burwood park! No seats available? Grab some cutlery and a blanket and enjoy a picnic! Clean, fresh food with a Mediterranean twist and fantastic coffee to boot!
L Smith
At first we had to wait 30 minutes before being seated as they we're extremely busy. It is advisable to book ahead especially during the weekend, however its all worth the wait brilliant flavours and presentation of all food and drink. Well done.
Issijecic
Ate here once with a friend and we both really enjoyed what was served. The customer service was great and even though we came 30 minutes before closing time they were very accommodating (although a little hesitant like all cafes)! Very polite and would ensure their customers were well take care of - would go and enjoy the food again
Isabelle Paris
I liked the atmosphere of the establishment. It was warm and welcoming and the staff were very friendly. The food and drink was excellent, doesn't disappoint!
JiaYi Lim
A wonderful ambience for a group gathering of 16 people. The waitress were friendly and helpful in arranging a big table for us, despite the 30mins waiting period. The service was superb when the waitress asked us for confirmation whether everyone's dishes have already been served and whether we would like to add any extra. All the lunch choices are delicious. Highly recommended!
Sienna Zhou
Busy place pretty food presentation, but long wait for a table, even longer wait for the food, almost an hour for the food to come out. Disappointed by the taste also. Don't worth the $$. Won't go again.
Lisa Nguyen
The watermelon and lychee drink was nice and refreshing but the food was average and overpriced. The outdoor cafe is nice in concept but it's hard to control flies from coming in and constantly buzzing over food.
Kellu 🌟
First thing about the Picnic is that it gets pretty busy on weekends, so I recommend getting there early so you don't have to wait in the queue. My friend and I had to wait at least 40 minutes before we were notified of a vacant table 😅🙌🏼

• The atmosphere was light and cheerful, and just buzzing with conversations under a small yet spacious tent
• I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel which was accompanied with fries, slaw and a dash of aioli which I thought was delicious
• The chicken was sort of a let down, because although the seasoning and tenderness of the chicken was on point, the coating wasn't crispy throughout and it was a bit soggy
• The tea (Jasmine) was a nice complement with the chicken, and it was something warm and fragrant to have on a chilly Sunday morning
• They also have a station for self-serve water infused with a collection of sliced up fruits!! ☺️

The place is amazing. Great atmosphere, even though it's a busy place during weekend. But it still be able to create experience for their customers.
Princess Greedy Guts
Located in Burwood park, this cafe has one of the best settings. With a semi enclosed seating area filled with greenary, flowers and fairy lights, you fill bright and happy by just being here. Menus were brought out promptly and service is friendly. There is a lot of delicious sounding items, many with a Middle Eastern touch to it. We ordered the very popular Shakshuka, which was tasty with a generous amount of thinly sliced sujuk on top. The cured salmon with popcorn fritters was beautiful to look at & a light, refreshing dish. The special of the day was Fatteh - a salad with a whole wedge of roasted pumpkin, chickpeas, pomegranate & a light tahini based dressing. It was a nice dish but lacked oomph and flavour. The extremely pretty pavlova hotcake tasted as good as it looked. One very high, fluffy hotcake is topped with passionfruit curd, mango ice cream, fresh fruits & edible flowers. This was dish of the day. There is also a myriad of hot & cold drinks like taro or sweet potato latte & loaded shakes. Coffees are good also. On weekends, there is a 1.5 hour seating limit.

Wasn't too hard to find but still a challenge 😅
The service was great. The dish I ordered, Shakshuka was slightly salty but still a fantastic dish and very filling. It was overall a great experience.

Awesome food, awesome vibes, super friendly staff! Perfect for catch ups with friends! Would absolutely recommend! Although it is quite popular and so during weekends, you will probably need to wait a bit for tables

Extremely unpleasant experience. We were there as a group of 15 and was initially told that the waiting time would be 1 hour. That was fine, we waited in the park. After an hour, we went to get an update and was ONLY then notified that there is another hour's wait and not going to have joint tables.

We were then given the option to have the take away menu and eat on the park which was okay but then told us that it is going to be a 40 minutes wait on food.

I mean, this could ALL be communicated from the very beginning and we would have ordered from the takeaway menu from the start. We had young kids as well so being hungry for 2 hours was not pleasant.

Food is OVERRATED! Either too salty or too sour. Never heading back. There are better cafes in Sydney with better food, price and service.

I came here very early one morning and was the only one there. The service was a bit slow but friendly.

I ordered a coffee and a superfood bowl. The coffee was really tasty and the superfood bowl was beautifully presented and tasted amazing.

Headed on over to the picnic one Saturday morning for breakfast. Let me just start off by saying how beautiful it is there. Absolutely loved the set up, the atmosphere, and the amazing service! They also have delicious drinks (I may have fallen in love with one of their cold pressed juices- I don't remember what it was called and it may be a new menu item as I can't seem to find it online, but I think it was called the "Egyptian" ... it was purple, and delicious and it almost tasted like a fruity Ribena drink)! Onto the food... we ordered the picnic breakfast board, the breakfast burger and the hotcakes also. I really enjoyed the hotcakes... they were delicious. Unfortunately the breakfast board wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be- it looked great but didn't have as much flavour as I would have hoped. Nonetheless I would still return and give the picnic another shot. I was impressed by every other apsect of it!

The atmosphere of the cafe was lovely, all the beautiful flowers even the utensils were cute!!!Service was nice and the food looked very instagram worthy.I had the cornfritters which had very good crunch and wasn't soggy which was complimented by the beautiful sauce and delicious salmon.

Been to this love place over the weekend. Quite suprised that the rating for this cafe is low. It is an amzing place to be. You can also order picnic bucket in advance for picnic in the park. How cool is this! The piggie small is really nice and recommended to try. Follow me on instagram @cissythescorpio

Funny enough, the picnic Burwood is located right next to the Burwood park toilets opposite Westfield mall. At the front you can see a takeaway counter with a nice eat-in area. Expect quite a wait during weekends, they do ask for your number so you can always take a quick stroll at the park and be told when your table is ready.

The food here is beautiful. You get a good selection of food to pick from like salmon, schnitzels and big breakfasts. You can also pick up a picnic basket and have your own picnic on the grass.

The salmon was well cooked, it comes on top of a side of wild rice which was truly brilliant - a good mix of freshness, acidity and spiciness. The restaurant is surrounded by nature and you do feel the difference from eating at any regular café. You can see pigeons just wondering around below tables, so maybe give this place a pass if you are not a fan of birds. I would recommended not coming during October - November fly season as the place is swamped with flies buzzing around. You definitely want to be focusing on the food instead of swatting flies off your face!

Pro : Amazing food with great presentation.
Con : Fly season can be a buzzkiller. (Pun intended)
Must get : Salmon with wild rice ($24)

The atmosphere is very nice but the food is a bit bland and over priced. Tried the pavlova hotcakes twice at different occasions but i have to say that the old one tasted nicer then the new one. Staff are friendly but the food takes a pretty long time to come out.

A nice out door place for catch up with family and friends. Just across Westfields close to street parking and public transport. Food is amazing and staff are just wonderful!

Delicious and insta-worthy food. Innovative flavours plus some old faithfuls keeps everyone happy. A brunch favourite! Cocoa art on the mochas have our kids eager to see what is next. Coffees can be a bit hit and miss, but forgivable. Service is friendly and attentive. The playground nearby plus lots of space means kids can let off steam before having to 'adult' at the table.

Located in Burwood park opposite Westfield, Picnic is a cute little garden themed cafe. Glad it was nice weather when i visited, would be interesting to see if it does as well when raining. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. They have picnic blankets there for additional seating, smart! Cute little takeaway window plus the restaurant itself. They have a pop up mexican night so i may have to go back.

Went to the Picnic Burwood on a Friday after a friends recommendation. Staff were friendly but the food took forever to come out (more than 30mins). We ordered the piggie smalls dish and the pork skewers were bland, overlooked and indelibly tough.
We also ordered a just wing it plate (buffalo wings) which tasted like KFC wings.

The coffee and watermelon/lychee crushie however was great!

The location was really nice especially in the summer time. Service was really slow had to hunt down the wait staff. The food was on the pricier side for what you're actually getting.
