Review Bahn Mi - Burwood

I love the service here, the young girl always trying to make sure your order right with a smile on her face even when the line is super long. Can get busy, but the wait not long. Fresh rolls and fresh ingredients at a perfect cheap price. I also get wholemeal chicken roll here with extra salad and chill $5 plus $1 for extra salad $6 such a bargain for burwood. My fav lunch stop

Absolutely disappointed with the service I had today. My partner and I went there because I wanted a pork roll and the lady just assumed without even asking me, if my partner wanted one and made us 2 rolls. I said I’m sorry I only ordered one. She was completely disrespectful towards us and gave me the wrong change then while I was eating I find bits of hair in my roll. Communication is key and she has failed that. Would not recommend.

Good tofu and pork rolls but they charge you $1 extra for each item you ask extra for..... like extra spring onion or coriander. And the extra they give you is one single stem of coriander. Today, when they put on a single blade of spring onion, I asked for another piece, and she added 1 skinny strip of spring onion... unenthusiastically and reluctantly. Stingy.

I love the banh mi here, specifically come for the cheese and salad roll. Can be a bit of a wait as it's fairly popular for lunch. Easy on price if you don't mind an unenthusiastic service.

Such a lovely little bakery. Always come here at 11:30 am for the nice fresh hot rolls. Thi the owner always happy and nice, I m a very picky eater and have my own way in layering the ingredients. Thi never complains ,she even remembered my order after a few times. Such a lovely girl. My new fav place in burwood.

Good standard rolls at a standard price. Their bulgogi rolls are an interesting variation you don't usually see.

Love the food here. But opening hours can be unpredictable. Also I always have the stewed pork roll, some days its available. Some days its not. Never know what menu items will be available. When available, and open, I would rate service 5/5 and food 4/5. Hasnt been open all week this week. No signage as to why, or when/if it will reopen soon.

The standard pork roll is decent, only because it’s a little light in he toppings but it’s only $4.50 so it’s got that going for it and the bread is also excellent. The highlight here is the grilled pork roll. The pork is thinly sliced and marinated in lemongrass and garlic and when you combine it with the excellent bread and the crisp vegetables it’s hard to fault, especially at $5.

I usually get the classic pork banh mi for lunch and eat it at burwood park. Tastes pretty good, but sometimes the chilli touches the meat/vegetables whilst in the tray, making it really spicy even when they didn't add chilli as per my request. Also, sometimes they add a bit too much soy sauce from the squeeze bottle, and by the time I arrive at the park (1 minute walk), my banh mi is already soggy and the paper bag has soaked though.

This small bakery is awesome, didn't want to try at first but the fresh bake bread smell lead me into the place. It was 12 and my bread roll was fresh and hot.

The young girl name was Thi, super nice and friendly took her time to tell me what they had to offer, even tho the line was long. She still told me what they had and recommended me to try the chicken roll. I quickly decided and order the chicken roll. Best roll ever. The filling was just perfect. They put this sauce and mayo that's soo yummy.

Also got myself a vermicelli salad bowl as well, it was soo good for $6. I had the chicken and all I can say is i m hooked. Gonna behaving this salad more often now. New lunch place for me ESP when it's so cheap. $7 got myself a roll spring roll and a drink.
Winning!

Was here during the lunch rush, even though the line was long but it moved fast. I have to say, the banh mj here the best and the service super friendly. I dropped my banh mi on the floor, as I stepped aside for the next customer. the young girl quickly told me it's alright then made me another one with no charge and she still had her big lovely smile.
I've been to other places and they would of rolled their eyes and didn't care.

I ordered the chicken banh mi and it was absolutely lovely, enough filling and the sauce is nice. Top it off with their fresh chicken rice paper rolls. My new favorite spot in burwood for lunch.

Will be coming here more often from now on, knowing il always get a smile and my healthy lunch taken care of.
Not much conversation goes when ordering here sadly as they respond in one word answers or no response at all though I think alot of the hardwork and dedication just simply goes into the product they make which is pretty damn tasty.

They have an additional ingredient that I haven't come across anywhere else. It has an odd shrimp-like tang to it but as it's in small quantities, it adds an interesting twist to each bite that works well.

Extremely happy this outlet also does brown rolls and fresh chilli.
Will certainly return for more.
The bakery itself has a heap of other pastries, cakes and goodies though a little pricey than bring homemade and all, they honestly look better knick than Michel's patisserie sort of outlets down the road.
Try this place out :)

Love this place bread and filling always fresh, lovely smile from the girls all the time. Food much better and cheap here compare to the other bakeries around. I have lunch here at least 4 times a week.
Keep it up!

It's been about 6 months since the shop at 77 Burwood Road changed management and changed name from Don Xin Hot Bread to Banh Mi . From my experience , the food there has improved. There is a wider range of vietnamese sandwiches and the bread is always fresh. I've tried their classic pork roll, grilled pork roll, meatball roll, nem roll and their beef bulgogi roll. They are all delicious. favourites are the classic pork, the grilled lemongrass pork and the beef bulgogi roll with added pate. They also sell bacon and egg rolls for $4 when they open very early in the morning.
A recommended good cheap eat in Burwood.
