Review Yakiniku Ren - Burwood

Excellent food and services. There's quite a lot food choices as a dinner buffet, especially beef tongue is my favorite. Delivery food to table is fast. But when time's up,the staff is a bit quick to collect all stuff. I like sesame ice cream so much.

Always see friends on Facebook going to REN. So my husband and decided to check it out. Why did it take me this long to go there? The host was very cordial and friendly. The server was amazing and other servers were prompt and friendly. The manager came out to clean the grill and table between servings. Memorable dinning experience, great place, fabulous personnel, and delicious food. I highly recommend this restaurant and we are coming back!!!!!

This was my introduction to the Japanese BBQ experience. We went for the $65 buffet and we were not disappointed. There is a tablet on the table to pick all you can eat from the menu for around 70 minutes before it closes. There is a another 40 minutes to just enjoy whats left on the table. That menu and everything I tried (many for the first time) was just absolute heaven. Compliments to the chef/s My only regret is not coming in with an empty stomach because I really wanted to try much more on that menu The polite staff were great and always on the ball with service and food delivery. They were also very accommodating to our booking adjustment which we really appreciated. Thank you, I am definitely returning.

My friends and I got the premium buffet, which is well worth it for the variety and quality of food. The beef options (particularly the chuck eye steak) are excellent, a vast majority of the food items are decent (especially the yukke!) and all the ice cream types (green tea, taro and black sesame) are DIVINE. This is our new favourite local Japanese BBQ!

Delicious food! Great friendly service, food came out super fast and it was great quality! My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here tonight and we're so excited to bring our friends back one day. We thought the premium buffet was a bit expensive but the quality of the food and how much we ate made it worth it!

Had the grilled teriyaki salmon here. Reasonably priced but the teriyaki sauce was so salty and unbalanced that it made the dish very difficult to eat. Salmon was also very dry. BBQ experience isn’t too bad though and fun experience if you have a large group.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

I've been there twice now. We had the $39 buffet with unlimited wagyu beef and fried chicken. Absolutely a bargain! I reckon it's the best value for money Japanese style BBQ in Sydney. I'll try their premium buffet next time.

Went to this place twice already.. the first one was impressed with the quality of every dishes that we get on the premium buffet $59/pp. which includes seafood, sashimi and wagyu.

But yesterday was a tad disappointing with the service and the oranges served was pretty bad (not fresh). I didnt take photos coz its gonna be too harsh.

The first 35min, the food came promptly.. after abt 50mins.. it took ard 10-15mins to get what we ordered til its almost 60mins ordering time 😂

But i’d still go :) do give them a review on google/facebook for 20%disc! :)

Sorry, the yukke is sucks, the beef was sour already and the surf calm have so much sand inside. I paid $60 for the buffet but ate nothing. I was so disappointing.
Dined here for two on a quiet Sunday night, Yakiniku Ren offers both an al a carte menu and two buffet (premium or normal)- we opted for the a la carte and ordered the wagyu platter ($88) which is totally worth your money and high quality wagyu cut! For 2, this platter is more than enough - super delicious and definitely recommend. Only down side is they did not offer much variety or sauces and dipping sauce and any side dishes - you’d have to order them yourself however they do come in a larger portion for $10-15 which we did not need.
Staff was not attentive at all however meal was lovely.

Good place 👍
Good price for wagyu
Friendly staff
A lot of side dish..
Sashimi not as fresh as the one i use to go.
Overall... i would say... I’m happy to go back again. :)
The restaurant was half full on a Friday night, service great and I was impressed by how fast food came out. I did enjoy every dish on the premium buffet menu and all wagyu beef so tender. Didn’t get a chance to try chicken but the pork was reasonably nice too. Cant say no to unlimited salmon sashimi and beef tataki. I would eat multiple servings of the black sesame ice cream if I could come back ❤️ Worth trying for your typical Japanese Yakiniku at a standard price

ACTUALLY AMAZING. THE FAT JUICY MEAT JUST ... MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH. 🤤🤤
WE ORDERED: BEEF INSIDE SKIRT, RIB FINGER, BEEF SHORT RIBS + KAKI FRY.
MY PERSONAL FAVES WERE INSIDE SKIRT + RIB FINGERS (A MUST GET!) ;D
OVERALL GREAT AMBIENCE W/ EXTREMELY NICE STAFF & THE DISHES WERE SERVED QUICKLY ^^ HONESTLY AMAZING 😍😍
WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK THE BUFFET~~

🍤 Ambience: Good music, modern, comfy chairs, good atmosphere.
🍤 Staff: Very friendly and compromising.
🍤Food: Absolutely great for a $59 all you can eat buffet. The meats were tender and juicy (marinated in advance), the seafood was fresh and ice cream was premium and yum (includes green tea, taro and black sesame).

// The sashimi was nice and thickly cut, the miso soup was hot and on point, the takoyaki were perfect, the softshell crab salad was good and the bibimbap was a large portion.

Lots of options, highly recommend for anniversaries, dates or pig out nights.

My first impression is I like the layout and decorations but getting into the place,I originally thought it was closed because it was dark inside

It's one of those places where you order off a screen
It's a shame there is no bento box option for dinner, when so many places offering this option at dinner, this is their biggest weakness especially when al a carte menu seems limited in choices
Option of al a carte or BBQ or all you can eat
We choose al a carte
The sides of Veges were nice and my katsu curry wasn't too bad but they added chilli or something to it when they didn't need too! Japanese curry for me is suppose to be mild at best
My friends liked there meals but we did find it pricey
Also as the sun came down, the suns rays shined through there top windows. When we sat down we had no sunlight on us,as the sun came down it was in our face! It's hot too! They need to do something about it especially when it feels like the a/c is on a low setting in these hot summer days
Nil issues with service, they did come replace our water without asking!
Overall the foods not bad but they should put the bento box as a dinner option too
Spicy pork soup 👌
Egg soup 👌
Meats 👌
Fried food - average
Seafood/sashimi - 👌
Was too hungry that i forgot to take a pic of the fried food but we also got creamy Croquettes, chicken katsu & karaage and salt and pepper crab salad! The salt n pep crab was the best out of those but the salad itself had too much dressing that i couldn't eat it towards the end 👎
Service was really good and everything came out really fast, very impressed ☺ Overall, very cute and clean restaurant and one of the best jap bbq places ive tried so far! Cant wait to come back during the day to try their bento boxes 😋👌

Definitely a good price of 59 buffet with all you can order in 1 hour. The wagyu is really fresh. Sashimi is thick cut and good quality. I’m not sure why this place only has a rating or 2.9. We’ve quite enjoyed the place especially it does not stink like most Korean BBQ place, after having the meal you just want to run home and wash everything that’s on you! Love that they offers ice cream as well~ 🤤

I'm not sure why this restaurant has such a low rating. The meat they supplied was very fresh and of high quality. Although it is run by Chinese people (it's Burwood, what do you expect) the food and restaurant decor had a very Japanese feel. I would not recommend the buffet ($60 per person) as it is much cheaper to buy separate dishes and it is definitely enough for everyone. For my table of five people, our bill came to a total of $163. A must try is the marinated pork belly and ox tongue and I would avoid ordering sashimi as it is overpriced. Overall, a great restaurant hidden behind Burwood Station!

We had our celebration dinner for two last night, brought our bottle of sake without charged. Premium buffet have 60mins order, and 90mins the rest. It's pretty reasonable, but we did a la carte menu wasn't too different for $60pp buffet. Just not sure the different of two menu, we enjoy the vibe and food last night. Would suggest people if small group can try a la carte menu, will try buffet next time see the different.

Nice and cozy jbbq restaurant! You have a choice between a la carte or premium buffet, and an ipad menu to view, order and check the total bill from. The service of this place is average and a bit slow as it takes some time for staff to be able to do the small tasks, e.g. ask for scissors to cut the pork belly or ask for more utensils.
The food here is as expected of a bbq restaurant and the quantity is pretty average. The menu has a range of salad, udon soup dishes, bento, seafood (prawns, squid, scallops), meat for grilling (e.g. wagyu beef, pork, chicken, etc), 3 different rice bowls, sushi, sashimi, and standard fusion dishes. My group and I agree that the pricing range fits the food quality. We had the standard pork belly, squid, and two different cuts of wagyu beef on the grill, and salmon sashimi as well as rice for dinner.
The venue was not super crowded nor empty, it was just right to have a hearty meal. There seemed to be rooms available at this restaurant besides the normal table arrangement.
Def keen to come back with a larger group to try the expensive premium buffet~ (≧∇≦)

Went here and the entrees were on point, especially my spicy beef tataki I ordered. Was abit let down with the chicken teriyaki though, it was abit rubbery and they charged 2% surcharge on credit cards even though I used my debit card? So bring cash because I don't understand that logic?
