Review Charcoal Fish Burwood - Burwood

If you have tried grilled fish in a similar setting, don't go to this place, it will be a waste..but if you haven't, worth trying as you will never know the difference.

The menus are mainly in chinese which might make it a bit difficult for local to make an order. There are plenty of dishes to choose from including fresh fishes and frozen one. You can choose the spicy level and what ingredients you want in your grill fish. In comparison with other grilled fish restaurants in the area, this is so far my favourite and best value of money

For the price and quality of the food, Charcoal Fish ticks the right boxes. Sausages are so worth and have just the right level of spiciness. Speed of the service is also very fast.

Was pretty satisfied with the food we received. Well flavored and be ready for the spice. Chair was a little rocky and there was a moment where I was watching a waitress trying to stomp a flying bug but can’t complain about anything else.

Love their charcoal fish. A very big portion for 3-4people and with affordable price. Their foods are just perfect!✨ Just a little improvement on hygiene needed.

Super tasty. Love the fresh BBQ Live Barramundi fish with chilly bean flavour.

Our favourite Chinese restaurant in Sydney. Period. We have been here for over 20 times already. The taste is very close to traditional Chinese taste already. The staff is very friendly, AND helpful. They have 5 fishes to choose from, we usually go with live barramundi. The price is great considering the same brand different branch in Central charges $2 more for every sides. They take Unionpay Quickpay, which means we can save another 11% cashback. Unfortunately they don't take AMEX, even though the window sticker says they do. Still, favourite!

We come there order one fish and crab. The taste is ok, reasonable price, but the food not so fresh. The decor is average, but you could not expect more.

Price: 3.5/5
Taste: 3.5/5
Service: 4/5
Decor and presentation: 4/5
Visits: 1

We had the fish pot with lots of extras added including noodles and vegetables. This is wholesome food that is great for sharing with friends on a winter night, think hot pot but you don’t have to cook things yourself. Unfortunately this time we went the fish was cooked for too long and it was quite broken up and difficult to find pieces to eat.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Probably the only staff who works there when i came. The place close at 2pm and we came at 1pm and still verygood service. For the fish pot, u can choose the fish and the level of spiciness. $50 for the whole pot is a def bargain! Got the malashanguo as well where you pick what u want in the wok and they stirfry it with scezhuan style cooking. Lastly also tried theit spicy chicken. Not too spicy for me but maybe for some :)

Highly recommended place to try!

Great food and great price! A bit cheaper than Xi'An Grill for the same fish and flavours. However the service there is terrible (Chinese people who give you attitude and they don't listen to you the first time you request something). It took more than 15 minutes to get the bill. Good thing about this place is that it opens till 2am on the weekend, great for a midnight feast.

Highlighted as a midnight restaurant opening until 2am, Charcoal Fish has been the place I go quite frequently after badminton :) You know, at 11:30ish, most places are closing or closed and I believe that every Chinese restaurant is better than Macca's no matter how bad its food is.

It tastes good but salty without rice plus its fish is really small in size :(

It was about 11:30pm and saw this placed opened. Only thing I found on the menu was a pork rub casserole. There wasn't that much meat in this dish. It was more a vegetable casserole with a bit of pork in it. Tasted ok but didn't satisfy me. I would describe it as a poor rice farmers meal.

I heard this place is quite famous for some sort of spicy fish hot pot. However, I decided to order something else since it was my first time trying this type of Chinese cuisine.

So this is what I ended up ordering: beef slices drenched in chilli oil, spicy beef noodles, and claypot veggies and prawns.

Everything was mildly spicy and extremely delicious. For first timers, make sure you get a nice cold drink on the side because it may be a little bit troublesome for your tummy 😁😁

I will be coming back again for the fish!
