Then my Rice was cold! Unbelievable!!! My bill was $19.80 and was paying by card or eftpos, there was 2% surcharge.. Anyways, I said OK BUT PLS PUT IT ON savings... But i was shocked that she Tapped and go my card!!!! I said SAVINGS!!!! All she said was Sorry it went thru already.. Seriously, theres no reason to go there!!! Food not good, service not good, NOTHING IS GOOD!!! They have to CLOSE DOWN AND PUT SOMETHING ELSE BETTER!!!!

DO NOT GO THERE....I have made 2 minute noodles that taste better than the food served to me, I hardly ate it and tried to get my money back , instead I got threatened by the manager. The most apalling service and food i have ever had. SAVE YOUR MONEY...

Horrible customer service experience. Been here for the first time. I used to wonder why people stick to the same restaurant and now I am clear about it.

Food here are below average. Not much flavour and very oily. I understand that Sichuan cuisines are spicy & oily, but usually they are tasty too. But that's not the case at this restaurant. Special fried rice was very bland. The only ok dish was their signature Stone Pot Fish. Serving size for all dishes were very generous.
You can't really miss this restaurant with the two full sized chinese drama costumes in a large display window out the front of the restaurant. We dined on a Saturday night, we arrived relatively early when the restaurant was very quiet although it became busy quite quickly and there were people waiting for seats by the time we left. Service was quite disappointing as the staff seemed to be too busy setting up tables than attending to the diners and it was almost impossible to catch the attention of any of the staff.
Food was enjoyable, although not amazing. We had the Gangster Chicken which is a cold chicken dish in chilli sauce. The chicken was quite tender and the nutty sauce was quite unique. The stone pot fish was quite impressive to look at, we ordered it mild which was perfect. It's quite a large serving size, struggled to finish it with two people as there's also a generous serving of veggies and noodles in the pot as well. We struggled to avoid the peppercorns in the pot which left an unpleasant aftertaste in our mouths.

We enjoyed the steamed and fried buns but really wish they had come after out mains as they were cold by the time we got around to these.

Overall, we weren't overly impressed by the restaurant although judging by the popularity at the time of visit, it does have its fans.

I know this restaurant via Group On. Food was not bad, however, customer service from the lady boss tried to tell me and my family not to go back ever again!

I came here at 8th September for dinner with Jiezi Zhang Zhang Yue. All the food were great. The entree was a chicken. Dessert was steamed bun. The main course was a spicy and chill fish, which wasn't too much for 3 people. It should be enough for a couple and two people. I wouldn't recommend it if you can't be tolerant spicy and oily food.

Returned over the weekend for a late lunch. At 1.30pm, the restaurant was still busy with quite a few walk-ins during our time there. For the entree, thin fatty slices of pork were layered on top of some smashed cucumbers, so there was actually less meat than it appeared. I was glad for the cucumbers though as they were a refreshing contrast against the (mild) chilli oil and meat. The mixed vegetables were a petite serving but had decent variety of broccoli, lotus root, black fungus and bamboo shoots stir fried in a garlicky sauce. This time we ordered the three flavour barramundi stone pot. While I didn't expect much as the spicy version I'd had previously was quite bland, I was pleasantly surprised at how good this non-spicy version was. The barramundi was nicely cooked again, with tender flesh pulling from the bone easily. The pot also had glass noodles and assorted mushrooms. The soup was really tasty and unlike the chilli-based equivalents, not overly oily. We slurped up every bit of broth and I didn't feel an unquenchable thirst so hopefully it's a sign that they didn't overdo the MSG (let's be realistic, the majority of Chinese restaurants use that stuff). It took awhile for staff to clean and set our table (a good 15 mins after the previous occupants had left) but overall, service was alright. Be prepared for a slight language barrier if you don't speak Mandarin but nothing major.
---Previous visit---
Despite the name, Chilli Drama serves up plenty of dishes that non-chilli lovers can enjoy. The "gangster chicken" was an entree dish of cold poached chicken dressed in a combination of sesame sauce, Szechuan pepper and chilli oil. The numbing dressing was so addictive, we saved the leftovers to go with our rice. We also ordered the restaurant's specialty, a whole fish cooked in a stone pot with your choice of spiciness levels. Our barramundi arrived in a massive pot filled with bubbling soup, black fungus and flat mung bean noodles. We thought the soup was a little bland despite the fiery red and lacked enough flavour. Maybe because we chose the least spicy level. But the fish was moist and tasty so still a decent dish. The twice cooked pork was slices of fatty pork belly with cabbage. This had strong punchy flavours from the salted black beans though it was quite oily. A simple dish of stirfried spinach with garlic provided some much needed vegetable to our dinner. But this was pretty much cancelled out by the order of fried and steam mantou buns with condensed milk. We also dipped them in that awesome gangster sauce. We thought service was a par above the normal Chinese restaurants. It was a cold, wet night and they served us hot water without us requesting which was thoughtful. They were also helpful in recommending dishes to try. Though our waitress wasn't fluent in English, the menu is descriptive enough. A good spot for dinner near Westfield. I'm keen to try the rest of the menu.

Had the Barramundi Hot Pot accompanied by a cold dish of Chilli Chicken, mixed vegetables and steamed /fried buns. Generous serving, service was efficient and price was reasonable, two of us dined for under $50. Would recommend to chilli lovers.

I ordered lunch special, yang chow fried rice but definitely miss the mark. Taste was a bit bland,
Usually it comes with BBQ pork & prawn but only few prawns. Will I be back? Not sure !!!

If I could give this place a minus rating I would!
Food ordinary and tasteless!
Management useless, rude, ignorant!
I'd rather stick needles in my eyes then EVER go there again!

The food is disgusting.I got some take away from this place, the dish was Beef noodle in chilli sauce, what I got was a large container with noodles in water with around eight cubes of what seemed to be fatty cheap meat, when I asked for my money back, they would not return it and the manager would not come out to talk to me, when i finally raised my volume he came out to tell me he was calling the police. He lied to the police and never returned my money. Absolutely apalling behavious from our community, a real disgrace... DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

The stone pot fish is excellent and unique in Sydney, good service too! The restaurant is well decorated in typical Sichuan cultural fashion.

This placed opened late last year so thought I'd give it a go. First impressions presents a little eatery that is nicely decorated with a Chinese Opera theme. Little Chinese opera dolls is invaded in glass along one wall.

On to The food, and it is a northern Chinese chilli affair. So to stand out along BURWOOD RD you have to get it right when every third eatery offers variations of this crusine.

I ordered off the lunch menu and went for the braised pork rib noodle soup. BTW staff have a limited range in English so be patient.

The portion size when it arrive was generous on first inspection with heaps of fluffy white noodle in a hot chilli and peppercorn broth. The peppercorns were not younger numbing like some other joints. You know the feeling when you eat and its like drinking a Taser soup , well this is not like that. Main complaint though is the Pork rib. Got basically 6 bits of mainly bones and little meat.

Other diners were complementary upon leaving so give them the benefit of doubt people. Informed the owner of what I'd thought 'not enough meat, too much bone!' Her response was a lovely smile.
