Review Salsa's Fresh Mex Grill - Burwood

Maz Araati
Wish I’d checked the reviews before literally throwing $15 away. Ordered a vegetarian burrito bowl with some corn chips on the side. Something different from a Westfield food court. The burrito bowl was tasteless. The rice and beans had zero flavour and the veggies weren’t cooked. The “guacamole” was interesting. It most certainly didn’t taste like avocado or guacamole. All in all a massive fail. The corn chips came out in 2 little bags. Each bag containing 3 chips. It was a very confusing and highly disappointing experience. Opted for a chocolate bar in the end. A honey log which hit the spot. If you’re thinking of eating here - be sure to grab yourself a chocolate bar beforehand! 🤦🏻‍♀️

BIG PLASTIC PIECE IN MY BURRITO: I ordered from uber eats and I found a big plastic piece in my burrito. These idiots are not even taking care while preparing the meal. I mean this is just basics.. Why are they even taking the salaries if can’t even take care of this basic thing.

Nice Nachos! Just one area for improvement, think it might need more diced onions in the guacamole. Other than that, a really refreshing nacho dish.

I've always been happy with everything I've had here. Might help that I've only ordered the vegan options. Lol! The service has always been really good too. Mucho veggie bowl photo for tax. 😁

Cold meal and also they dont put any meat inside, very disappointed and dissatisfied. I won’t come back.

The texan beef burrito bowl hit the spot on a weekend lunch. Friendly service, and loved it how I was able to sit and charge my phone in the nearby food court.

Not bad not bad. I ordered some chips and they were salted well (absolutely love Salsas seasoning), and it didn't take them very long to serve me which was good!

Ordered a mex beef burrito and it was nice and filling, just a bit bland for my taste. I do like Mexican food with more punch and this didn't have it for me unfortunately.

It’s a worry when you ask staff if they sell Enchiladas and they give you a blank stare.

Ended up ordering 3 tacos but they don’t have the volume deal like a Guzman y Gomez so was expensive at $4.95 each. Tasted ok but wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there.

We tried the vegetarian burrito bowl and vegetarian tacos for lunch here - service is quite quick as you would hope from a fast food joint. I personally think the chips from here are good quality, with a tasty salt and good sauce options too. If you are hungry for a snack I would recommend these. The tacos were really disappointing with a lot of cabbage but barely any sauce. There was a dollop of guac right in the center so we didn't even get to taste it properly. it was worse that the taco's came in foil that was really hot but on the inside they were fridge cold and the soft shell was super soggy too.
The burrito bowl was average - we liked the lime rice and beans, but there wasn't enough of the toppings. The corn chips were average and sparse. We liked the variety of veggies, like broccoli and zucchini, which went well with the richness of the beans, but honestly there wasn't enough to eat with the rice. I wouldn't mind trying some of the other food, but it's really an average Mexican fast food shop in a food court.

Ordered a Californian bowl with chicken and guacamole. Overall the bowl was tasty and the chicken was cooked well. The ingredients didn’t taste high quality but the price matched this accordingly. I’d recommend eating from Salsas if you’re looking for a quick meal in Burwood Westfield.

Awesome and so fresh! For only $10, the summer chicken salad fill you up. The chicken is smoky and juicy, all ingredients work so well together, and the guac just makes it!

I tried the nachos! What a mistake that was! A few corn chips, tiny pieces of bland diced tomato and onion and a small plop of sour cream! How this passes as nachos is beyond me. Felt sick three hours after eating and close to vomiting and on the loo all night!

Love the bowls and the flavored chips! Always been a fan but the prices are quite expensive so sometimes it's hard to justify. By the time you make it a combo and add the extras they try to sell you, it becomes very expensive for a small "healthy" alternative.

Loving my mexican and today I got the protein bowl sans guacamole. The bowl consists of coriander and lime rice, black beans, jalepenos, beef and spicy salsa. I would definately add cheese next time though.

We ordered the Guacamole nachos and they were not the best however still quite tasty and the price was decent ($12.95). The guacamole was fresh, however the tortilla chips underneath became quite soggy due to the sour cream and guac which was quite unpleasant. Service was quick and efficient.

Salsa's are great but avoid this particular franchise. I had a burrito once which was small and had barely any meat- then today on taco Tuesday none of soft tacos were any good. They didn't even hear the tortillas so they were cold. Bondi, Eastgardens and Miranda are awesome, but this one sucks. They also haven't updated their menu like the other restaurants.

Far away from Mexican food. The food is not even TexMex, far away from Mexican food. But advertised as fresh Mexican food.

There is a prize wheel But.... There is a prize wheel
But don't be fooled we won free dipping sauce and a free taco and they said they have ran out! For some reason I don't believe them! A Mexican place that ran out of tacos???

The burrito I had was nice though its like a half size kebab which is packed full, the chips with there spicy salt didn't do anything for me

Food came out quick prices though we're more than expected

Feel cheated by the wheel I don't think I'll be back

Good food but bizarre portions. The box of chips costs 50% more than the large packet, but actually contains a smaller portion. I didn't complain at the time, as the I did not want any unpleasantness from the already sullen staff. Some staff very friendly, but I drew the short straw today : (
