Review Mini Pot - Burwood

Marcella
I have to say, this is one of my new favourite places for hotpot! I love the idea of skewered hot pot, it’s original, practical (because you don’t loose your food) and SO SO TASTY! There is an awesome selection of food on offer and great size dishes like the fried buns with condensed milk, fried rice cake with brown sugar and the deep fried pork belly!! Charlie is so lovely, he really made the night special with his amazing service! This place is always busy and for good reason! The soup broth is rich with flavour (I highly recommend the tomato soup base). Come here with your friends and make a night of it with the all you can eat options!

Jumped on the Hot Pot train lately and I am so glad I did because I love the idea of it! Loved that this place was buffet style as it meant no food wastage. I could eat as little or as much as I would like! I loved the interiors of this place. It was small, cozy and perfect for this kind of cuisine. There was so much to choose from at the buffet bar. They were all on skewers, making it easy to grab and then to cook. There were a few things we had never seen before and were curious to try. (duck gizzard being one of them!) I personally wasn’t a fan of the duck gizzard but at least I gave it a try! Everything else though was delicious. My favourite were these fish ball sticks filled with cheese. We had to ask for more! The soup bases were delicious but if that spicy one was ‘mild’, I’d hate to taste the medium and hot! I would definitely love to try more of their soup bases. Overall, I was impressed by this place and love that it’s nice and close to me. It’s not a fancy schmancy venue so if you’re down for delicious, cheap eats in the heart of Burwood, I would recommend this!

A great place to visit only once. The staff greets customers well and I believe that it keeps a good image to their restaurant but I don't really recommend going here in groups larger than 3 due to the small area and table. There weren't that many food options available, mainly just different types of pork.

Deducting stars because this place has false advertising. We chose the $45 buffet option only to be told that we will need to pay an extra $20 for the soup base! Why is this cost not included in the buffet price??? The menu clearly mentions only drinks are extra. When we questioned this they said the rules have changed. If you change the rules then change your menu prices & details to reflect this new change. So be warned!!! Apart from that the service was friendly & I do like the idea of the skewers however it does get messy & can be a bit of a hazard if there are kids & you will need to watch out in case you poke your eye out. Soup base was ok, lacked a bit of seasoning & the selection of food was ok but once an item has finished you will have to wait til they replenish the stocks again & hope someone else doesn’t snap the dishes up again whilst you wait. They did give us some extra dishes which they said was part of the buffet (fried pork belly, rice cake & condensed milk buns). Overall it isn’t too bad & fitout looks nice but agree with other reviewers the tables are a bit small but you do get a little side trolley to put your food onto. I guess I am glad I tried it out at least, but don’t know if I’d be rushing to go back any time soon.

Love this hot pot place. Great base, about $20 and then $45 per head for all you can eat sticks, rice cakes, noodles etc. great value. Variety of protein and veg can be better but for the price is pretty excellent! The staff is so helpful too, they helped us mix our sauces so we had a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

Found this new hot pot place in Burwood! The coriander beef is soooooo good, the waiter made me two sauces, and the pig brain is my favorite! Nice food! Nice people! Definitely coming back!

This is a Sichuan-inspired hotpot restaurant with a beautiful interior and really friendly and attentive service. The first thing I noticed was the unbelievable smell when you walk through the doors. You can opt for the buffet where you get unlimited skewers of pork, beef, chicken, veggies, and a whole lot of other quirky and different options. You can also choose what type of broth you get and the level of heat which is really good. I really enjoyed the deep fried pork belly on the special dishes menu, and the make your own dipping sauce station. There were so many ingredients like fresh chilli, garlic, shallots, soy sauce etc and I loved that! Follow @foodenthusiast.Sydney for more reviews

Wanna try hotpot with a difference? How about full blown buffet with most of your delicious treats all skewered ready to go. It's the first Sichuan hotpot place I have heard od with skewers! This place has a lovely interior that transports you straight to oriental China. There is such a HUGE variety of skewers from meat, seafood, vegetables and more. As you can tell my EXCITEMENT was off the chain. Tried so many cuts and variety of meat that were delicious. The buffet is epic value for money and all the work is done for you as it's skewered. Recommend it! For more eats adventures check out @sixfootandsalty
