Came in with low expectations given the mixed reviews. Gotta say was pretty damn impressed. Vindaloo was nice and spicy and good flavour as was the British chicken (probably more like a spicy butter chicken. Naans were fluffy and samosas were crisp and home made. Yes will definitely be back.
Dinner date with my gfs, we were in the Burwood/Warrigal rd and decided to eat indian as the smell literally tantalised the air- it was powerful, you could smell curry from the opposite side of the road and up the road. Between us we ordered; lamb vindaloo, chicken biriyani, potato and pea curry and garlic naan.
(-) The place looked shabby and was very small -12-14 seating, i'd recommend to quickly book.
(+) indoor/outdoor seating
(+) If you dont mind, or prefer, to take away, there are great pick up or delivery deals (see menu).
(+) vegetable and lamb somosas was bomb and came with mint and tamarind sauce.
(+) garlic naan was fluffy and a bit chard- from the tandoor oven.
(+) vindaloo was so damn delicious, we ordered extra hot.
(+) biriyani was packed with flavour!
(-...+!) potato and pea curry wasnt special at first, the potatoes tasted water-logged but as the dish cooled down, the potatoes became more starchy- this is a good thing!
(+) server asked how our meals were, quality assurance check.
No dancing around it, the place is an eye sore but the food spoke volumes! Honestly do recommend, hope your experience is as good as mine! Cheers.
It would've been 3.5 if the samosas weren't so laden with oil. They were flavourful, if you could ignore the grease. The mint and tamarind chutneys were acceptable as was the raita. My daughter enjoyed her butter chicken and I know people say it tastes like tomato soup. I would have said that too, except today I opened a can of Heinz tomato soup and they do taste different. Massively so, with a one on one comparison (if they're reading this saying "haha", I'll feel like a fool!!). I think it's a decent filling meal for 3, with enough leftovers (bonus!) for tomorrow nights dinner. My little miss would give it 5😊
Edit - and the leftovers tonight were great, add a chicken thigh, cup of rice - dinner done🤗
Always get our takeaway from here. Fast service and great Indian food that is well priced. Garlic Naan bread is fantastic and the kids love the Butter Chicken and British Chicken Tikka. Wouldn't dine in here as the interior is a bit run down however it's a great place for takeaway.
Love the curry here. If you want Spicy they can do. Seems very traditional and authentic. Well priced and super tasty. Don't like the minim $40 takeaway amount but the food is great.
It's alright. Not great food. I choose this just because this is the only better indian restaurant nearby. However, they treat customers very well.
Great food and such lovely service. Beware though, spicy is indeed very spicy! Lucky we had some yummy naan to cut through the heat
Top Takeaway!. Fantastic Indian food, one of the best I've had in Australia. Their British style tikka masala was full of flavour, beautiful sauce and chunky vegetables. We'll be back for more.
This is the best Indian food I have had in Melbourne. The British Chicken Tikka Massala was cooked to perfection only narrowly beating the Lamb Rogan Josh. These guys are the real deal. Good value too!
Damn Good Indian. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now, being a local. Finally did and glad I chose this place. Pretty damn tasty. Well worth it!!
This place is quite new.
Previously it was owned by different people. Now it's called Spice Nation.
The food is great! If you want to have a taste of genuine Indian cuisine do try this place.
They have a variety of options available from lamb, chicken and also vegetarian food.
The people here are warm and welcoming.
Service is pretty decent.
All i can say is just go and have a look, you won't regret it.
Try the 'Naan' 'tandoori chicken' or the good old fashioned biryani!
For vegetarians out there you can order 'chole' and 'samosas' and a lot more!
FINALLY an indian restaurant that serves indian SPICY (n they mean it) chicken vindaloo! So happy! Very good food if u want the level of spicy indian mom use. Its my regular go to when i miss home.Only problem i have is the amount of oil and the packaging of curries for deliveries as it tends to drip out.
Food is extremely delicious. No other restaurant can beat the taste of Palak Paneer, Asmani Kofta, and Samosa. Service is also extremely good. Like I always order take away dinner pack 1 and guys there will customize the pack according to my needs without overcharging. Also price-wise it's so reasonable. You can feed 3-4 people easily from $42.
Somehow the taste is bit inconsistent. Last time we order mix pakoras and it was not properly cooked. Something to have a look Chef!
But overall it's good. And I would definitely recommend Love from India to anyone who want authentic Indian food.
Great authentic indian cuisine. We came here from my Grandmothers Birthday and were treated exceptionally well by the staff. The curries were to die for. This is a great restaurant that serves food at great prices.
Good quality Indian food at a very reasonable price. Cooked well and prepared in a neat and clean environment. Friendly staff!!
Went to this restaurant twice over the last three days and I can honestly say not one item that we ordered dissapointed , one of the best places to visit in Melbourne for authentic Indian food!
