This is one of favourite local food restaurant in Burwood. Their price is quite reasonable and serving was pretty descent as well. The favourite food is the salt & pepper flounder fish. You can tell, that almost each table in this restaurant always order this dish. We ordered set menu for 4 people and we share easily for 5 of us. Highly recommended if you are in Burwood. Oldie but goodie !!!
Quick, cheap and food is of great value due to the cost. Lunch time menu is even cheaper with an array of Noodle, rice and Congee option.
Only thing I don’t like is they cram you in like sardines.
Very good wonton and Cowgee!!
Great customer service and friendly staff. The staff apologised multiple times for our drinks coming late as they ran out of ingredients to make them. Our food came out fast and was super fresh and hot.
Ordered shanghai noodles with pork and no mushrooms. Currently in awe! Such a big portion. So delicious. And at lunch time under $10! Not confident about the other dishes.

Such a huge menu with many types of dishes you can order. It's like Hong Kong and they serve the famous dishes from Hong Kong. The lunch specials are great too and the store is busy. They can do with a renovation but overall is tasty!!!
Top Notch Dishes!
You walked in and brings back memory of Hong Kong restaurants, these decors and some Cantonese music playing over the stereo.
4 of us, decided to order set menu for 4, with the mud crab as the main dish.
Some more you choose 4 mote dishes from the options and entrees and rice included.
Not a bad deal after all.
All dishes are tasty and generous portions.
Very cheap and taste is good too :) we had 6 people and got the 5 choices option for 80$
Salt and pepper squid isn't the freshest but not bad, everything else is good too definitely worth the price for a quick fix.
Very busy place with an extensive menu. There were lots of staff working but they are not very attentive and it takes a while to grab their attention for anything.
Food wise it was pretty good, fresh and clean flavours and not overly heavy or oily. Prices are not too bad but definitely cheaper Chinese around.
This is probably my favourite restaurant ever for cheap canto food that is so delicious. The only thing that I have tried that I wouldn’t recommend is the chicken chow ho. Would especially recommend the chicken laksa, the beef chow ho with soy sauce, Singapore noodles, beef chow mein with black bean sauce and the thousand year egg and pork porridge.
Real Asian feel at this place and I enjoyed the food! Good spot to catch up with friends and have a tasty meal at a decent price! My friends love this place and they always come here for the delicious food.
Pretty good place for noodles and Cantonese cuisine, service is really good too. The only suggestion I want to give is to provide a big table for big event, really love this place.
Nice food in general, consistent quality been there many times.
Fried noodles (egg noodles or flat rice noodles) are recommended over the ones in soup
Like most Chinese restaurants, the portions are very generous. The wonton soup is very tasty and the snow peas with scallops were cooked perfectly. The salted fish chicken fried rice was also well flavoured to complement other dishes
One of my favorite Cantonese restaurant. I like the taste which is authentic and their proportions are not very huge nor hard to finish, but the waiting time is a bit too long during lunch hours and the food is a bit too greasy.
Really nice cheap food. Recommend the chow mein cicken also the pork braised in xo sauce. With fried wonton it makes a cheap delicious dinner!
Decent southern Chinese food... Unless I have nothing to eat around Burwood other wise I wouldn't go again. But it definitely won't disappoint u if u do decide to go and try it.
this place is seriously a typical HK noodle/yum cha place that provide great value of food.
It is small and often with a lot of people, but probably worth the wait.
I came here by myself over the weekend, it was 9pm so not many people around. There is a table special: 5 scallops with rice noodle for $17.5. Out of curiosity, I ordered this dish and it was a huge plate with full rice noodle and decent size of scollops. Wth a ice HK milk tea, 20 dollars I also got next day's lunch sorted.
Having been here regularly through the past ten or so years I've grown accustomed to waiting for ten to fifteen minutes for might be the best affordable Chinese food in Burwood. What they lack in glitz they more than make up for in price and taste.
The 'fujian (hokkien) fried rice' is a persona favourite of mine, and is chocked full of calamari, chicken, and greens.
The 'shandong chicken' is not very good. More akin to just a normal fried whole chicken served with plum sauce than anything else. I highly suspect that they served us the wrong dish. Strongly avoid.
No pretense, very reasonable Cantonese cuisine similar to what you would get in Hong Kong. Don't expect first class, and you will be rewarded with tasty and economical canto Chinese meals. I go here regularly
If you're looking for fancy dining, this is the wrong place but if you're just looking for delicious, hearty food, you're on point. We ordered braised chicken with satay sauce, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork and fried rice. I have had better fried rice but the rest of the dishes were amazing. The pricing is cheap and the servings are generous. I would happily revisit.
My dad spent the afternoon installing all this random stuff in my garage for me so we decided to take him out to eat something he likes.... some good ol' fashion authentic food at Canton Noodle House.
It's situated on the main eat-strip of Burwood on Burwood Road... alongside many other wannabes... but this place holds its own. It's cosy, a bit hawkerish, you might need to wait for seats and it's not the cleanest but it's clean enough. The waitress is working overtime with such a high turnover but seems to have the whole place under control.
We started off with the Won Ton Soup with Noodles. I love this... really reminds me of how it was in Mongkok, Hong Kong... except not served with the waitresses finger dipped into my soup. The Won Ton and Noodles had this crunchy bite to it. It really added that texture needed when doing this dish right. Even the meat filling in the Won Ton was quite generous and delicious. It comes out piping hot... but there's just no patience in me to wait for it to cool....
Next we had the Eggplant with Spicy Mince and Rice. One of my wife's favourite combination of flavours. This place did the dish justice. The eggplant was soft and saucy... and with a hint of a lil' kick.
Last but not least we ordered the Beef Chow Mein... which they initially got wrong but they corrected the dish without any fuss. The best part of this dish has to be the noodles come out crunchy... which I try and get onto my plate and into my mouth before the sauce kills the buzz. I know right.. the only time I don't want sauce lingering on my food. The meat is tender and the vegetables just balance out the dish but do make it slightly blander.
All that the meal came out to be under $30... and it left all three of us feeling just full enough. The place even comes with complimentary hot tea.
You might not get service with a smile.. because they're busy and Asian BUT if you're after some authentic and lip smacking Chinese food... the make a beeline for Canton Noodle House... I don't think it'll disappoint.
Spec Chicken Noodle Soup with shredded chicken and onion, spicy... Oh wow. Yum! It was on the lunch menu
This place has super fast and efficient chefs and service. Pipping hot, humble, honest and hearty food to your table, super quick. We ordered the egg sauce, beef hor fun ($9.50). The peas are frozen, so not as good as fresh, but the beef is tender and the egg sauce has the right consistency. The hor fun is well-cooked, but not as much ‘wok-hey’ than I would have liked. This is the lovely wok heat and char taste which differentiates excellent hor fun from good hor fun. The other dish we got was the chicken chow mein ($8 lunch special). The noodles are lovely and crispy, with the middle section of the noodles full of the
We were craving traditional Hong Kong Food after work and heard this place is the best.
Love it. I am fortunate to live very close by and we always bring friends here. Don't worry if you have to wait for a table, it's worth it.
Servicr is average at best, food delish!. You don't come here for the service but for the food. We get the soft shell crab, the tofu balls and a rice dish. Always delicious and portions are large.
Good reliable staples. It's crowded for a reason - consistent food and reasonable prices.
Popular Chinese restaurant for good reasons.... Granted, Canton Noodle House won't win any awards for outstanding food or service. However, it delivers what's expected: a good feed at reasonable prices. I actually like the food here and it gets bonus points for not rushing you out the door. The XO beef and Japanese tofu hotpot was delicious - make sure you order rice so you can spoon the gravy over it. So more-ish.
There's usually a line during dinner but we arrived at 8pm Friday and surprisingly, didn't have to wait - guess that's the time to aim for. It's also pretty hilarious that seating in this restaurant is endlessly configurable...the chairs and tables never stay in the same spot for long.
Been here a lot, always busy which means the food is always fresh. Decent size portions so value for money highly recommend
Signature Wan Tan Mee is just taste medium. Definitely not the best but still delicious. Crispy chicken are very good. Shop are too small and not enough table for more customers. Staff services are good.
Definitely enjoyed the food. Place looks run down like it’s been there forever but the quality of the food is top notch. The beef brisket hotpot was surprising in that it was all meat, and no gooey fat bits hanging off it like I find with some other restaurants. Also if you come here you must try their signature tofu. Looks homemade and is oh so yummy.
Great food lovely little shop great service prices are affordable
One of the most authentic Cantonese places in Sydney. Huge portions, great food, good prices. Not the fanciest place you can find but certainly the place you go for a solid meal. Recommend the chow mein and the salt and pepper dishes.
They've just renovated too (at the time of this posting) so it's way cleaner than it used to be.
A typical Cantonese restaurants serving mostly Hongkong style cuisine. The food are quite tasty and reasonable prices. Services are quite good.
