Review Orgasmic - Byron Bay

Nick Cass
My heritage has lead me to have many types of pockets, falafel and Turkish coffee. But I can absolutely say the absolute best I've had of authentic food has come from this place. I cannot recommend this place enough and it serves as the perfect dish for quick lunches, indulgent dinners and hang over cures. Please try this place when hitting up Bryon. We have to support these amazing businesses!

Definitely recommend giving it a try. It is great to have something different with middle eastern taste in Byron Bay. To be honest if it was in Sydney that would be a 4 star but in Byron Bay, this small restaurant is one of the best food you can find.

Our falafel pockets and chips were so delicious and satisfying we went 3 times in the week we were in Byron. I was recommend to definitely try the falafels by a friend at home in Melbourne and was not disappointed. Tasty, fresh, the loveliest fluffy pita, crispy pickled veg as well as great value đŸ„™đŸ‘ŒđŸ»

Got the full pocket falafel pita and a bowl of chips to share. Such a feed of food! So tasty and it didn’t take long once we ordered! We were here before in February 2020 and couldn’t wait to come back as we remembered it being so good and thankfully it was the same standard!

LOVE the falafel plate here! Super good quality ingredients, exciting flavours, and fairly priced! The father and son duo and other staff are very friendly and genuinely want their customers to have a good experience.

I ordered the Mediterranean platter for one. The service was very quick and efficient. The staff were friendly and the food was great.

I ordered two Lamb Pockets T/A Was charged 67.50!!!! Definitely Overcharged. The meal itself was horrible. The lamb was chewy and inedible and the cucumber was too much. The best thing I got was the Coca Cola can.
Fernanda Woolley
I looooooved this place! Super tasty food. The falafel and hummus were amazing. Great mix of flavour in the Mediterranean plate. That plate is for two but it could easily feed three.

We ordered a share platter and it was absolutely perfect. The falafel was so fresh, the hummus was the best I've tasted and the salad so fresh and tasty. My husband had the meats and said that the lamb and chicken was really good too. This is one of the best meals we've had in Byron and would definitely come back. My only suggestion would be a little extra bread to mop up all the delicious dips on the plate. Excellent meal, thank you.

Just had the lamb platter and falafel pocket with a mint tea each. We loved it. The salads are super fresh, sauces super yummy. The marinade on the lamb skewers was also really tasty. Mint tea is so refreshing. Amazing experience.

Best place ever yum yum Whenever we r in Byron this is the place we lunch ïżœ

Food is tasty, friendly staff. They claim to serve Israeli/ middle eastern food, but sadly it doesn't feel very authentic. We got chicken schnitzels and Sauerkraut on our mix platter.
Ela Preston
The best falafel pockets in the world! Wish i live closer, would be my fav hangout place.
Ellana Hedger
Best falafel I have EVER had. In the 5 days I had in byron, I ate here 4 times. I dream of traveling there again for these life changing falafel.
Scott Williams
Great food, quick service. The pockets are really good and the bread is great, felafel good but not great.
Chantal Gerardy
Amazing, friendly and accommodating service, with great tasting food and a lovely atmosphere.

Delicious and fresh. Friendly staff. Quick service.

Food always great here, we never come to Byron with out a visit, but seriously, the chick serving was so rude and obnoxious it took us all by surprise! Hope she’s not there next time otherwise we’ll be going else were, she spoilt our experience 🙁
Jeff Collins
Great food. The felafel were sensational, but everything was delicious!!
Chenille Blundell
Thanks guys.. i can NEVER eat felafels again. Yours were that amazing that all others just taste rubbish.
Anna Shannon
Fresh falafels are to die for! So tasty, Good price for the amount of food you get!

The pockets are soooo overpriced. I decided to spend $18 for beef kofta in a pita pocket as I thought it might be amazing and the price would be justified. Sadly I wouldn’t even be happy to spend $10 on one of these. As you ate down into the pocket all you got was A bland salad. Then half way down there was just 2 big lumps of kofta (which were raw in the middle). Then finally at the bottom of the pita there was just a big pool of hommus. They would be better off making the kofta smaller and have more so they can spread them throughout the pocket and you could then get mouthfuls of salad and beef together. They also took forever and staff were unbelievably unenthusiastic and rude. TOTAL RIP-OFF... save your $$ for somewhere else

I buy these pockets from a place in Melbourne. They are $8 and INCREDIBLE.

I had beef pocket. It was great. My dining companion had the vegetarian falafel dish. She loved it . The owner chatted and was genuinely interested in our feedback. For what I consider street food or lane way in this case it was very tasty experience. If I was staying longer in Byron I would be back

We got recommend this place by a friend, can 100% see why! The moment we stepped into the cafe we felt very welcomed! The lady was attentive and lovely. She gave us all a sample of the lemonade they made (it was delicious so naturally we all bought some). As for the food, I think it is the best falafel pita pocket I have ever had. Me and my friends were very impressed by the fact all the toppings were layered, so even when you got down to the very bottom of the pita you were still having bites of all the ingredients. Being dairy free it can be hard to find a nice creamy sauce that isn’t tzatziki to go on top of a dish like this, however this place made an amazing tahini sauce! The lovely lady even gave some free falafels to two of my friends who weren’t eating. Would recommend this place to anyone who visits Byron bay!

Best falafels in town! Great place for a quick and easy meal, and pretty cheap too. Recommend getting the homemade lemonade too. Just yum all round.

Traditional food with a modern twist. Falafel was moist and dips were great. Could probably do with more bread given you’re paying $40 for a platter for two so two pieces of bread each doesn’t really cut it. Wasn’t overly keen on the pickles and sauerkraut added to the dish as the acidic flavours didn’t go well together.

I ate here twice on my recent trip to Byron and both times I left mildly disappointed. Coming from Melbourne where (perhaps) I am spoilt by Moroccan Deli-Casy and Very Good Falafel, the two meals I had at Orgasmic pale in comparison. I paid $8 for half a pita (which is the same price as a full pita with much better and bigger (think three times the size) falafels from similar places in Melbourne, and $19 for a plate which was really just the pita on a plate. The accompaniments were a little bland, and I only got 6 small falafels on the plate. Given the cost and size that they are made here, I think a few more would make the cost seem a little more appropriate. Then again, perhaps the cost thing is just ‘Byron’.
Good Food Good Mood
I was down in Byron for the day and had to get one of these pita pockets that I’ve heard are absolutely amazing. They certainly didn’t disappoint and were pretty sizeable read extremely messy to eat. At $18 for a glorified wrap they would want to be filling though. It’s been around for over a decade and supposedly makes the best ever felafel. I’m more of a meat eater myself and can certainly attest to the chicken pocket. Super succulent and unbelievably flavoursome. Worth the exorbitant cost for me

BEST FALAFELS IN BYRON!!!! the tahini sauce is too die for!! some one pls tell me the recipe (seriously pls) talked to the most amazing older lady that works there - said she drives a fair way to get to work - most amazing customer service, cant complain.
Nina Cooke
Best falafel! I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and always had consistently great food. Delicious falafel and other pitas such as lamb and beef, fresh lemonade with mint leaves. A must visit if you’re in Byron and in the mood for middle eastern food.

My partner and I decided to have lunch here, after a long drive down the coast.

We both ordered a pita pocket, mine with falafel and hers with beef kofta. Both were filled to the brim with salad, tabouleh, tahini and hummus, and together went down a tasty treat. From experience I can say both had those authentic flavours you’d find in a pita served at any decent eatery in The Middle East.

The chips were a little on the salty side, covered in za’atar which was a nice addition.

Would definitely recommend to those looking for a quick and easy lunch when visiting the beaches at Byron Bay.
Ellylovestoeat
Amazing food and such good value for money. Shared a platter for two and it was such an abundant meal we couldn’t finish it. The waitress was kind enough to bag it up to give to the homeless I was so impressed with the generosity of the lady whom brought me another meal to take also for the homeless.
Very friendly staff!!!!
A must to try if you are in the area!!!
Jalena
Delicious falafels and lovely customer service by the dark haired lady at the front. Witnessed her get yelled at by the lady in front of us and she handled it well and continued to do her job well. Only downside is the dodgy seating area. Exactly what you want from fast food.

Patron since 7 years.
Ambience: small place with a nice middle eastern theme. I love the friendliness and warmth.
Service: friendly and polite
Food: best Falafels ever. They've maintained the quality since I first went there. Short and simple menu. Fresh food.
Location: Off a busy street.
Foodielicious
I had the falafels on a plate and it was out of this world! And I don't think I've had a better tahini sauce. Everything on the plate just worked so well together. I thought it was a decent amount of food, but my stomach disagreed as I was hungry again after 2 hours. Or maybe it was just me wanting more falafels. LoL! I'd definitely go back.

“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” – T. S. Eliot. Located on a small street just behind the main Byron Bay beach is Orgasmic, a middle-eastern inspired cafĂ© who fries up delightful small bites of felafels for hungry beach-goers. They also serve Turkish coffee which smelled fantastic but unfortunately I had reached my caffeine quota for the day.

Cleverly disguised to perhaps justify their expensive food however it is a takeaway with very ordinary food and outrageous prices. I guess they don't rely on repeat customers so they can rip off the one timers and tourists with their $20 pitas filled with blend so called middle eastern taste. What I don't get is why they give free Falafels to public yet fill their $20 pitas with only few falafels.

I've eaten a $13.50 falafel salad (like a pita without the pita) from this joint at least once a week for the past year. Whilst overpriced the food is delicious. I just went in and asked for my usual and was told "we don't do that anymore, we have gluten free pita instead". I explained I wasn't into the gluten free option and just wanted the salad and the falafels - staff member then suggested I pay $12.50 for the salad and $6 for the balls which equates to a $5 price rise for the exact same product.

You just PERMANENTLY lost a loyal customer worth about $1000 to your business over the past year...add in the 100 airbnb guests I've sent your way in the past and won't be sending in the coming one it's a bit of balls up your price hike on the falafel salad option for the carb avoiding kind. #pricehikefail

Best falafals I've had in my life. Would be surprised to find somewhere with falafals anywhere near as good as this again. Nothing compares.

Always delicious. Came back today after three years and still fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. The falafels are amazing and service great.

I have a fetish for falefel wrap since I tasted it at Yummba. When we arrived at Byron Bay this afternoon, we immediately locked in this destination and ordered two falefel wraps without any hesitation. They were good but wish there were more falefels in my wrap.
Catherine MacLean
Stopped by for lunch on Tuesday after walking the to and from the lighthouse and was definitely satisfied! I had the falafel plate which could have done with more falafels, but that hummus is to die for. I would go back for that alone! Came with a nice salad and sauerkraut , but once I had had some of my friends as well, I was so full I didn't need a proper dinner.

As an afternoon snack the falafel wrap we ordered really hit the mark! The soft pita pocket was loaded with tahini, hummus and a generous helping of salad and crunchy falafel balls. Orgasmic indeed!

We tried the falafel and chicken pocket and the mega-pocket. Prices were $13 for the pockets and $18 for the mega-pocket (I take it the menu prices on this site are a bit old), so we expected portions to be reflective of the price....but they were nowhere near reflective. So the quality - The mega pocket came with a narrow chicken schnitzel (explaining the extra $5 cost over the regular pocket) which was the thinnest schnitzel I have ever come across, maybe 2-3mm at its thickest without exaggeration, so slim you couldn't taste the chicken, only the batter; besides being overcooked so it was more like a biscuit. However I do applaud their skill in making a schnitzel so thin. Asked for chilli sauce, maybe it was capsicum sauce, definitely not spicy As for everything else, there was nothing special, except for the bottom of the pocket giving way and the contents falling out into the cane basket it was served in. Avoid, get more value for money for half the price on the main street, for the same average taste.

I love the falafel pita pockets here so much, so delicious! And I've had my fair share of falafel dishes. The service is lovely and they even offer free samples on the street. The falafels were warm and the ingredients were fresh. The lemonade, made in-store, is also very delicious too! They had a lunch deal on at the time, which made it very affordable.

Best falafels I have ever eaten! I have tried the falafel plate & the falafel pockets - all delish! The place had a happy energy & the staff were lovely on all occasions I visited!
James John Kelly
Amazing food and great range. Very tasty authentic and REAL! The prices are affordable and there's always a line out the front. It's worth going a whole pocket and not a half!
Nathan Leonard
Fantastic falafel! Shared a platter for two and a jug of lemonade/mint with mum and it totally satisfied. The falafels were a knockout accompanied by creamy, salty, grainy Middle Easter dips: the usual suspects of babaganouj and hummus. This place rivals any of the family-run venues I've falafel'd from in Sydney with that added Byron Bay charm. Lamb patties, schnitzels and various salads made for plenty of delicious food. Beautiful combo of crunchiness, richness, freshness and happiness! Recommended for a laidback, wholesome dining experience.

By far the best food in Byron.
Orgasmic orgasmic food!
Will definitely be coming back again.
The pita croutons are to die for. And the lemonade is so fresh and refreshing

Some of the best Falafels I've had! Orgasmic food is a small place tucked away in a lane. Before I entered, some workers were standing on the street with a plate of falafels for everyone to try, which was what enticed me into the store. I got a half pita pocket for a very modest $8, and I was definitely not disappointed. The falafels were crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside, and very hot and fresh. The pita itself included very fresh ingredients, including a mouth watering hummus. The place itself is really cute, with a middle-eastern decorated den styled seating area. Staff were so friendly and sparked up some casual and funny conversation with us. Great, clean feed for a very good price. DEFINITELY give it a try.

An awesome feed! We shared a Mediterranean platter for two, and we we couldn't even finish it. Very tasty falafel and dips, great for a quick cheap meal

If I could give this review less than 1 I would.
We ordered 4 chicken plates and 1 chicken pocket. We then waited outside in the street in the rain for 45 minutes to get our food. They then called our order which for some reason they decided to make 2 chicken plates and 2 lamb pockets instead. The order was completely wrong (missing meals all together) they were then extremely rude and since they did not provide us with a receipt (now we know why) they claimed that is what we ordered. We left the shop disappointed but looking forward to sharing our food as we were left short. Added to the nightmare the food was terrible and I would have to say was the worst tasting meat we have ever had.

On a rainy Christmas afternoon decided to take a wander up Jonson St...we noticed this place on one of the lanes, seemed interesting with a shack like facade.

We ordered a falafel platter with a jug of tractional middle eastern lemonade, have to say it was the best falafel I've ever tasted, full of flavour, warm & not too dry. Plate was accompanied with a mix pitta bread, hummus, salad & chillis!

a little girl offered us a sample falafel on the street corner and pointed towards a little restaurant tucked away down an alley behind the beach hotel. We couldnt decide what we wanted because it all looked and smelt so good, So we got the mega-platter. It was amazing! Good value and the free homemade lemonade was refreshing! Best falafels ive ever had!
Nicola
Orgasmic falafel pockets and house made lemonade! Great cafe with amazing food and good ambiance.

Ok, but nothing special. Better value elsewhere peeps...
Olivia Scott
These falafels just made one of the top 3 moments of my life.
Bethanhill89
Delicious. Mistakenly referred to as Orgasmic Falafel and you can see why! The falafel were delicious as were the Mediterranean sharing platter, baba ganoush and chicken schnitzel we ordered as a group of 5. This delightful little place amongst the restaurants of a lane way was laid back and a lovely place to dine with friends as you can BYO for only a $1.50 charge per person.
Le_orange
We were enticed in by the sample falafels. They were crunchy and delicious. Decent prices too, would highly recommend the falafel share plate for 2!
The Waiter
Ordered the beef plate and a falafel + salad - portion sizes good and tasty but pricey for what you get - our meal was $50 - but if you want a quick bite - a falafel in pita (pocket bread) for takeaway then this is a good stop
Mugsie
Yum. Yep, yum

Best falafels ever. Like, literally.
Anthony
Not too bad. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, we had chicken and lamb plates with an awsome ice tea, we love eating Middle Eastern , only knock back 'no garlic sauce'.

Over all had a nice meal, was very full :)
Allie Broughton
Beautiful food! Falafel balls are amazing. We had the mega platter for two and it was thoroughly enjoyed.
Mickwilson
Awesome. Fantastic flavours, we ordered a salad plate and a falafel plate for lunch for about $30 for both and couldn't get through it all. A great spot for lunch and found the staff service great. Byron bay eateries need to take a leaf out of their book on what people want and are looking for while they are on holidays. We'll done. We will be back.
Cheeky Monkey
Nice food, staff are rude. If you want somewhere cheap to eat nice food in BB, this is the place. However, the rude staff made our dining experience not enjoyable. After the meal, we went up to the counter to say thank you and all three staff ignored us, despite us repeating our thanks (as we thought they hadn't heard us the first time).
Robyn McCreary
Overpriced bland food and the owner is very rude to his staff
Arash Ranjbaran
The Mega Platter was amazing! We swapped the schnitzel for chicken skewers for an extra dollar; good choice! Staff were awesome; the food was an explosion of favour... Absolutely loved it!!! Pair with a cold BYO SBS for best results!:)
Sycamore
We went out for some nice dinner. Ordered a platter (supposed to be for 2). The staff was very unfriendly, and when asked what exactly is on the platter, she pointed annoyed on the menu (it wasn't busy whatsoever). There was so much salads and vegies on it for at least 4 people. It simply wasn't tasty. However, the infamous falafels very delicious. It is a waste of food and paying $58 for a platter for what we got overall is simply not working.
Holly
Amazing food! We had the falafel plate and chicken skewer plate. Both fantastic. Big servings. Left very satisfied. BYO was great too at just $1.50! Good vibe.
Will be returning.

Used to be my favourite takeaway in Byron - still good but the Israeli salad could be chopped a bit finer and for a full falafel pocket would of been nice to see a few more falafels!
Tahlia Maree
Amazingly flavorful, fresh and authentic. The meals were decently sized and we licked our plates clean!
No table service when dining in was disappointing, but would still highly recommend visiting orgasmic

T&M
