The balcony review it was crab sliders, with one or share plates, I was with Cam, Aaron Close, Lachy and Bohemian Sunday’s. Aaron Close knows Peter Sheppard the band and organised the most horrifying dinner I have ever had, Satellite death and eugenics leader Peter Sheppard the band. They had equipment that made it impossible for me to see and played audiovisual video with peter Sheppard the band as the key loser that played for an hour while Aaron was laughing and not helping Brett while he had a horrifying sick in the head dining experience from equipment outside the restaurant. Aaron had organised it especially for Brett but the restaurant must have endorsed this to happen, a clear management error this will effect and has effected my view of Byron. The Show went for one hour while my friends did nothing to help. Leaving me thinking that Byron is a key out post and hotbed for satellite death activity.
Really good find and difficult to say anything bad. Staff were good and the food was very enjoyable. WE had the kingfish ceviche which was great followed by the grilled eggplant and the Bao buns with the pork belly. Plenty for two people but some excellent other options floated to other tables. Really enjoyed this place.
Really enjoyed the service and food at light years! Interesting Asian inspired menu, lovely cocktails and friendly staff. Trendy and cool but not pretentious. Good for a drink or a meal. Loved the scallops and the miso eggplant
You know the food is delicious when it is pumping on a Monday night. Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavour. Recommend the wontons and the cauliflower curry! Some of the best Asian cuisine we have come across.
We ended up here after another restaurant we planned to go to had an hour wait ...and I’m so glad that happened! It was very busy, our waiter had forgotten to put our order through but it was quickly rectified and wasn’t much of a wait at all. The girls still apologized profusely and offered a dessert on the house but we were happy enough with everything to pass on the offer and pay for everything. The service is great, they are constantly circling, checking on customers and clearing tables. We ordered the spiced fried cauliflower, duck pancakes, 2 chicken bao’s and 2 pork bao’s - everything was cooked to perfection! Next time we are visiting Byron, we will definitely be back!
What a great experience. Food, cocktails and service was outstanding. Coming from Melbourne we are very fortunate with the Vietnamese restaurants on offer. Light years produced some of the best Vietnamese we’ve eaten. Thanks again
This is a really trendy funky little restaurant!! The food is Vietnamese and it’s delicious! Fresh, modern and flavoursome. I recommend the DIY Peking Duck and the fish curry. Yummy cocktails too
Amazing food (on par with Chin Chin in Melbourne) - fresh Asian flavours are delicious! Cocktails and great tunes create and awesome vibe that makes for a very fun night!!
We were recommended this place by a friend that lives in Byron and it was spot on! Best feed I had while I was up there and the cocktails were amazing. The service was great, the waiter even fixed my broken thong!
A couple of friends told me to check this place out when I come up to Byron and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint!

I could eat pho everyday so was def going to visit Light Years but was sold when told that Chris Hemsworth has been known to frequent the place!
We ordered the ceviche, Vietnamese slaw with poached chicken, beef brisket bao, pork belly and donut holes for dessert. The ceviche, beef bao and pork belly was delicious but may cause some disappointment if you’re expecting the traditional crackling on the pork belly. Still really good though!
