Review Fishheads - Byron Bay

Nicely close to the beach, Nice service although the fish roll I had was pretty stock. Also the killpatric oysters were so small for $5 a hit. Need to lift there quality for a shop this close to the beach.

We were excited to dine at Fish Heads last week as we didn't get a chance last time we were in Byron. Unfortunately the weather was stormy so the cafe blinds were necessarily closed so we couldn't make the most of the view (but at least we didn't get wet!). Staff were friendly but very new so a few mistakes. Understandable after all the covid mess. Food was very nice as were the cocktails. We enjoyed the seafood platter which had good variety, although for the price I would have expected it to also include either a salad or fries (or both). Unfortunately a huge error was made by the chef who guaranteed the dish was totally free of the ingredients I am severely allergic to, but we could see big chunks of it right in front of us. We insisted the waitress (who was lovely) take it back to the kitchen and they replaced the dish, but didn't offer any kind of compensation or even an apology from the chef. There are many other great dining options in Byron so unfortunately we won't be dining here again.

Absolutely wonderful dinner here the food was amazing and just cooked to perfection all staff that waited on us were amazing and nothing was 2 much trouble will definitely be returning again have been coming here for many years always superb

We popped in here on the off chance that it may be good; what we got was more than we expected! The food was amazing, we both had the grilled barramundi and strawberry shortcake and the staff were so friendly. We went mid week and it was busy. Well worth the visit.

BEST seafood platter I’ve ever eaten. We got the “build it yourself” seafood basket (genius idea because it meant we only got what we liked!) and every item was amazing, I’ve never eaten seafood so fresh and delicious. And to top it off it’s so reasonably priced for a seafood basket! Highly recommend.

Just ordered 2 boxes of whiting and chips. The whiting was so light and fresh, chips were perfect. What ruined the whole meal was the amount of salt. I love salt, but it was way overboard even for me. Meal would have been a 5 star meal if not for the salt.

The most amazing whiting I have yet to eat this includes fine dining. Lightly dusted curled pieces of deliciously cooked whiting with an over generous serve of chips . By far my best fish & chip experience of my life for just $15

Best seafood chowder EVER ♥️ Delectable!!! Most definitely in house made stock which gave the fullest of flavours for any discerning palette. Mixed seafood plate also right up there. My husband enjoyed his meal very much so. A huge compliment coming from a true meat eater 😀

Terrible. Asked what was with the lemon,salt and pepper calamari he stated there was rice so I ordered the main size. Received fish with rice and an entree size calamari, what the? Sent the fish back obviously. The calamari was bland, had no salad or anything with it. Very very ordinary. My friend ordered the mixed grill and a side of coconut rice, she received normal rice and the seafood was cold when it got to the table, covered in butter and oil and was overall inedible. Don't normally complain but when the meals are very expensive and you walk away hungry it's very disappointing. Only thing that was any good was the view.

Been coming here for years. Every time I come it gets worse. Spent $300 on seafood between three of us and we still had to order food at our next venue as the size of the seafood platter was tiny and not great. The staff were lovely although the food was really poor. It will be my last visit there.

I think it's overrated and overpriced for what we got which fish and chips. The dressing on my salad was way to spicy to eat. Should have listened to the manager and gone to Maccas lol The view however is superb

Benjamin had the best service and was the cherry on top to a wonderful holiday in Byron. The food was amazing and our party of 12 would come back just for his service, it turned a dinner into an experience. Top notch

Staff are like walking zombie Service is terrible and i dont see the value for your money. Never i will recommend this place.

Overpriced! I paid $28 for a small bowl of battered calamari. They told us our son couldn't have a little bit of bacon as a side on his meal even after I said I would pay extra. They practically sneered at us for not having a booking even though they were 3/4 empty. Bad vibe. We are locals and won't go again

Meh.... Pretty average...& it's pretty cheap/Crap..(I guess you get what you pay for.!?) .... But Soggy chips,dry/over cooked fish/prawn/calamari.!... Probably won't go back.! .... ....✌️

No fish No chips No shrimp No calamari But got a sub standard chicken burger for $17

I thought it was terrible. Didn't even get the right order. The food was barely warm and tasted like it was sitting in a hot box all day. Overrated!

Little table booking mix up to begin with but it was quickly sorted and could not fault the service of staff_Alexandra was fabulous and the supervisor on duty Christina was great :)

Amazing food, great service and awesome atmosphere. Will definitely come back if we're ever in Byron again!

Good was great, coffee was good. Very nice views. Brilliant spot.
