Would definitely recommend. Loved the food and it was all for reasonable price. Great atmosphere there as well. Great place for kids too with a play area for the little ones and mini arcade area for the older kids. Deffinately going back again.

Upon the end of the separation of my last relationship, I found myself a sunrise resident... I frequented the bistro to get myself a new watering hole and a new start... What I got was not just a local treasure, but a total pleasure... Between the cheap and consistently good meals, the cheapest pints in town and free live music and trivia, but I now have a table full of new friends, and a group of workers who resemble family to me... Keep up the good work all involved...

We’ve got basically a pub bistro here, not that there’s anything wrong with that. There’s good sized internal spaces here which are nicely fitted out. There’s a decent outdoor area too.
I chose the flathead tails with chips and salad. The serving size was spot on perfect. Even better, the fish was beautifully cooked. Rick Stein himself would have struggled to do better. The fish was lovely and moist. The batter was light and fluffy. And, the chips were absolute beauties as well. Really nicely made and well cooked again. The salad was OK without being great. My partner had the chicken schnitzel which was good. She was very taken with her chips too and agreed with the above assessment of the salad. Both dishes were only $15. The fish was particularly good value for that price. You could easily add another $7-10 for the same dish at some places I know.
We liked this bistro. The food was good, the prices were right and the service was lovely. All power to them.
A pretty good open pub - with huge seating areas and a sporting/betting area. Food was reasonable with cheap lunch specials. Publican was friendly.
Sun Bistro is a very nice pub. The place is styled well, and the menu is very nice for a bistro. I tried their beef pie, which came with some great chips, mushy peas and gravy. My husband ordered the rack of ribs, which he said were awesome. This was the nearest food place outside of our resort, and it was worth a visit.
All the chips fit under the steake. And not because the steak is enormous.
The Sun Bistro has great food and their enthusiastic services Is fantastic but the chip servings right across the menu are tiny. With the $6 tapes chips bowl rarely a chip exceeds the rim of the already small bowl. My estimate puts the running cost at around 20 cent a chip. Their yummy chips yet still just a potato.
We visited this beautiful venue when we were staying at Byron. Food and service was great. Friendly staff, clean venue, great for families and get togethers. Beautiful outdoor area and live music when we were there on a Friday. Definitely a must visit if you are travelling through
Love this beautiful pub. Wonderful atmosphere, awesome staff, such a great vibe to this place. Add the fantastic food, best mushroom pizza and beer battered fish ever.. Wow what a gem of a venue. We will definitely be back..!
What a transformation of a drab pub/tavern. Great atmosphere and the food is amazing! A range of meals you’d expect in a high end restaurant. Staff very friendly and proficient. Still has the great pub food if that’s what you want. Outside is well set up and family friendly. If you’re in Byron, check it out. We’ll definitely be back. Executive chef even took the time out to explain her dishes. Great experience all round.
A seasoned visitor to Byron for the past 35 years and I can safely say this is by far one of my favourite places to enjoy a great meal, the quintessential Byron bay atmosphere and a superb wine selection. The staff are incredibly friendly and well educated on product knowledge, the menu has a great variety and the quality of the produce is well above the standard that you get at the other hotel venues (trust me). They also offer movies nights, have picnic style seating, larger party entertaining areas plus you can bring your dog and pat the horses that come by the lawn area. Not to mention an awesome kids play area. So if you want something more than the overpriced and overrated standards you get in town, then take the time to venture a little further to find the real treasures that Byron Bay has to offer.

We celebrated my husbands birthday this weekend , the food and service were outstanding. All Staff went above and beyond to ensure our function was a success. The food was delicious .We had share starters all amazing. We were a large group yet no one waited and all mains came together. Thank you to Yasmin who helped us coordinate a fabulous celebration.
I had been going here for the best part of 5 years regularly and my previous rating amidst the transition to the new ownership was 2 stars. Rude staff, food quality dropped, sizes dropped and prices of everything went up and it appeared a great pub was being destroyed. I must say my opinion thankfully has changed for the most part, the atmosphere, tunes, decor and new staff are great. Food quality has picked up. The only reason it's not 5 stars is price and size of meals, they are great quality now just leave you wanting. But in saying that if you compare with the local Byron market its well priced as everything here is more expensive. Come check it out, it won't disappoint.
What a great experience we had at The North Byron Hotel. Outstanding, modern food that was on point and very delicious, with plenty of choices for omnivores and vegetarians alike. The beverage list was on the money and the friendly staff were very helpful and attentive. It's easy on the wallet and Ill be definitely be returning!
