Review Kura - Byron Bay

Jennifer Smart
Wonderful and cosy Japanese resturant with outstanding service and food. Great choices of sake (including Kubota, one of our favs), and delicious beef tataki, ramen and more. Highly recommend in Byron Bay.

These guys been under the pump for hours and still they put a smile and welcomed us in! 110% of Byron Bay restaurants were either closed or fully booked for weeks due to the holidays and shortage of staff. We were really impressed with the food quality and the service. Delicious authentic Japanese food, friendly staff and reasonably price. Thanks guys!

Great food (we loved the assorted grilled plate and the salmon scallops roll and the grilled shiitake - we ordered it twice!) and lovely ambiance inside. Service was great as well

Tasty food and plum wine. We tried seared salmon roll and mixed grill platter and loved them, though the portions are not big. The service was good as well.

Authentic food and vibe. Reminded me of my fave haunts in Osaka. Defs recommend the grilled eggplant, and I'm not even a fan usually! There is a wait when it's busy, but that's to be expected when they're making fresh, and it's worth the wait.

Very fresh sushi! Little bit over priced but very good quality. Would suggest to add some more sushi options on the menu..

advertised as a ramen bar, they were out of ramen. This wasn’t told to us prior to sitting down, and then the waiter was somewhat impatient about us not having a back up order. We ordered a mix of entree and mains but distinctly ordered them for individuals, not to share. the food came out slowly over the next hour with one of us having entirely finished for 20 minutes before another came out. The food was tasty, but the service was terrible and the cost far too high.

We stubbled across this place - being on the 1st floor we could have easily walked by. So glad we didn’t! The food was amazing. Fabulous authentic Japanese food, the sashimi was so fresh. Everything from the tempura to the sushi was excellent Highly recommend!

Our little family dined here on Xmas eve and absolutely loved it the food was divine and the service was fantastic we enjoyed it so much we went back the night before we left and once again very happy. Will recommend this place to any of our friends or family when visiting Byron. I took cards and even gave them to our neighbours in our accommodation as a recommendation ..and the atmosphere was great and also a very cute restaurant.
