Review Bistro On Jonson - Byron Bay

I will preface this by saying that we came here right on dinner time on a very busy Saturday night. We have come here twice previously on weekdays and not had any issues whatsoever, Unfortunately, our last visit was a disaster. Our meals came out all over the place with some meals arriving 45mins before another, mains coming out before being told they had run ourt of the starters and one meal being substituted - again, because they had run out but didn't ask and just brought out a different dish (although they did also provide a refund at the same time). Medium-rare steak was somewhere between medium and well done and came with less chips than the kid's portion. Clearly the staff were trying very hard to make everyone happy, but they were completely out of their depth and about as organised and proficient as a backpacker in a rip.

The menu has so much on it that I was really keen to try. The food was fairly enjoyable but unfortunately our experience was ruined by the sour staff that clearly did not want to be there.

Sour staff that obviously don’t want to be there. They have no time for children or the elderly a big percentage of their customer base. Would recommend Ballina RSL much better staff.

We heard there was a new chef doing great things, so headed on down for a dinner on our last night in Byron. We ordered the specials and had one of the best restaurant meals ever. We found a nice spot by the windows to enjoy our house cured gravlax and perfectly cooked lamb. What a find!!

Chicken parmigiana and burrata salad! Really good service, super delicious food! I love the burrata salad, I always repeat.

We have been traveling through Australia for a couple of weeks and now stopped in byron bay looking for a meal we were directed to your club by our motel the Dolphin. And I have to say what an excellent place you have very reasonable priced food and it was also excellent breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended

Best place for our family as the kids love Squidleys the great kids room and we love the relaxed dining!

Great cold beer and the chefs have won me over as every meal I have had was very good cheers guys proud to say it's my local

I wish to congratulate your Chefs on the most outstanding lunch today! The eye fillet was cooked superbly and the service was impeccable... I have been fortunate to travel extensively and dined in many restaurants and quite frankly I was floored by today's experience!!! Well done!
