Review Rails - Byron Bay

Excellent venue, food, ambience and beer! Well worth a visit also for the live music.

Nice location and setting. Unfortunately it seems ordering food from the guy at the kitchen is really putting him out as he pouted and pulled faces the whole time as though he was a teenage girl being asked to clean their room. Im writing this before eating my meal as the experience is already ruined for us. The food can now be spectacular and the rating will stay the same.

After 7 years living in Byron and always going to Rails to have fun with my friends and have a good customer service, unfortunately the last day on 16/04, I was with my boyfriend and friends of ours who would be at the bar for the first time we had a treatment by one of the security guards (looks like Asian guy) who are currently working at the totally unacceptable . He was absolutely rude to us, telling us to shut up and go to another bar because we were trying explain to him that just one person in the group that we were was with the ID just in the picture in the phone. He was absolutely rude, we felt discriminated by him. We try talk to another guys, and they couldn’t say anything as sorry, just saying that we were wrong, not being sorry at all how they treat us. I feel super sad as Rails was traditional for locals and now I don’t want to think to come back there at all. I will never recommend there anymore. Shame!!!!

Great music all the time. Chips are good drinks are good. This place is areal classic, always something interesting happens when my I go here.

A rainy day in Byron but at the Rail it's all go. Great music the staff are the greatest. The husband and wife team feeding hungry visitors are brilliant. Check out the beautiful chicken dish coated in pomegranate molasses. Perfectly cooked and tender. Thanks team.

The most racist bar in Byron ever. Went here last April 16 and just sitting having 2 drinks for just 30 mins we were not even dancing or whatever unlike the other people and on our best behaviour, we were just sitting and all of a sudden the waitress approach us to leave the premises but not our friends which are not asians. Never coming back again even told the security what happened and told us to shut up and stay away from the bar cause we are not welcome, shame on you guys. Never been discriminated like this.

The NZ sauv blanc tasted like radiator fluid so I took it back but the bar maid gave me attitude and wouldn't swap it. Luckily the bar manager, Brad, had the decency to give me a glass of the Aussie wine instead. I think someone needs a lesson in customer service 🤔

Fabulous place great live music no dancing but grooving in the seats was ok.

Can I put an order in for two Cloudcatchers and a Chardonnay here? Only there seems to be zero chance of getting served at the bar. Been coming here for a decade and I love this place but recently there seems there's a gentlemen-only serving policy at the bar. Where's the sisterhood, ladies? The food is, as always, amazing, delicious and fair price; just need a beer to go with it....

The regular place on a Friday night ... good music ... good food ... preferred haunt for the locals

I arrived with the band to find a beautiful rustic structure with a outstanding atmosphere. Beautiful people. Great people working there to make the experience unique in every way. The bartenders serving local beer that was tasty and the food was excellent. I'm just the singer but I truly hope to perform there again. However I will return to eat drink and be merry. Thank you for the good time Jackson
