Review Golden Horse Chinese Restaurant - Caboolture

I should have read the reviews first. The fried rice was white with a half dozen or so bits of ham? and a dozen or so hard peas, it didn't taste like fried rice in fact it had no taste. We got two beef & black beans which came in two different size containers, one small and one medium, the meat was tender but the sauce tasted awful and left a greasy feeling in your mouth. Like one person said, How do they have 4 stars, I will never go back there again that's for sure.

Felt like chinese for dinner tonight so called in to order take away one dish of combination chow mien, one dish of chicken and cashew and a small steamed rice. To be honest it was the most tasteless Chinese we have ever eaten. The sauce in both of the dishes was like water there was no consistency to it we had to add soy sauce to try and give it flavour. The combination chow mien had only one Prawn in the entire dish. Very disappointed with the quality of the food, when I rang to complain they just said thankyou for the feedback and then hung up the phone. We definitely won't be back to this place anytime soon.

Food very average will not go back fried rice not cooked peas not even hot Used to be best food in the area very disaponting Have to go back to North Gardens in Burpengary every time a top feed. Not a cood Chinese restrant in Caboolture.

Food was good , but for the money $120 not even sauce for the dim sims an spring rolls or any rice crackers . Only Chinese shop that you don’t get them complementary.besides that it was decent food .

It’s sad that when you take the time to write your order out and go in to the restaurant because of the importance of the day so it will be special and they get your order wrong the order by put sauce in the boneless lemon chicken but because of my children’s allergies we get it with no sauce But they put the sauce in when I get home And found this we two children that now have no meal when you tell them about it And get is we don’t have to orders from sunday night and we are sorry about that Well after 19 years of coming to you That will be no more I feel sad that after 19 years and many mistakes made Over the years but none that have left anyone with out a meal my wife was upset about it on Mother’s Day so thanks for that it will something that will not be forgotten anytime soon I hope people see this and know how little you care about spoiling a special day and i wish you all the bad luck in the world

This place changes 50c to tap and go the company that the efpos machine is through doesn't even charge that much per transaction clearly this place profits from you using your card which they are not suppose to do. Reported to ACCC

A service was good the chicken chow mein was nice vegetables were crunchy and fresh the sizzling steak was great.

waited 55 mins . when I got to the shop they hadn't made my order. They were out of one item and said they tried to call. Said there was no answer. Funny no missed calls on my phone. They've lost me.

Loved it. Had a family gathering and even the fussy parents loved it. Have it twice a year not been disappointed yet. King prawn omlette. ..yummo

Overrated & Overpriced. The food is adequate, even sometimes nice, however I have never once received quick and organised service. They are polite enough, but you will nearly always wait too long to be served, and you will always wait a very long time to receive your meal.<br/>If it were a star rating depending on the night I'd give them a one or a two star rating, most nights a one.<br/>They are incredibly over-priced, especially for a store in the Morayfield area. You can buy a better meal at a cheaper price in more expensive suburbs to live in. That amounts to ripping people off, unless your food is truly magic, and it's far from being anywhere near that good.

What Happened to this place?. This place has really gone downhill. The food has no flavour. This use to be the best place in Caboolture for Chinese, but sadly, has become one of the worst.

Love it! It's our favourite Chinese in the area and haven't found many elsewhere that compare. Can get very busy so sometimes have a small wait but worth it! Very clean cooking. BYO so take a tasty vino and enjoy!

Great food but terrible service! Ordered 3 meals to share, waited an hour and only one meal Came out which we ate, then waited another 30 mins before our last two meals came out.

Scabby meal proportions, more rice than vegetables etc <br/>Not very vegan or vegetarian friendly. Meals were bland and boring

Don't order the tea. Rip Off<br/>charge you $2.50 a cup for Green tea even if you don't use the cup<br/><br/>or share the same one cup<br/>Food average

Soggy takeaway. I don't usually post negative reviews, but I was quite disappointed with my takeaway. The place looked busy and I was warned I would have to wait, which I was fine with. However, I wasn't fine with the soggy, overpriced result that I eventually received. The front of house, though courteous, was also disorganised, so that customers were attended to out of order.

Best Chinese ever! Been to many others and it doesnt compare. Best to order in over the phone as it gets busy on weekends and Thursday nights and does sometimes have a long wait time

Disgusted. Fathers Day 2011<br/>We;ve been eating with this place for years, but last sunday night was our last ever.<br/>meal ordered by phone at 4.45 booked for 6pm pickup<br/>6pm I arrive, told waiting on one meal be few minutes<br/>I stand back from counter<br/>6.15 I sit down, and watch other people come in and order<br/>6.40 I see those ppl get order and leave, so go to counter and say whats up, guy goes into kitchen comes back with my order.<br/>NO ONE bothered to bring it out to me when tehy knew i was there waiting, I had to go back to counter AND ASK THEM 40 mins later.<br/>takes me usually 10 mins toi get home and dish up, usually by time we eat last bit, its still hot,, THIS TIME it was COLD when we STARTED, because they forgot us.<br/>All I got from some guy at counter was " sorry mate, now how you paying for that?" no sincerity, no investigation as to to why it was forgotten, no nothing. but the bit that killed was it was cold, no heat what so ever at all.<br/><br/>I would not eat there again if they invited us back for a weekly free meal, I;d rather drive to Burpengary now.

Overcharging Customers. Overcharging their customers. The price on the bill is more that the prices stated on the menu that you receive. Check your bill carefully. When we queried our bill we were told that they had had a price increase. We were not informed of this at any time until we queried our bill. The owner was also very rude and bragged that she was charging all her customers extra, not only us.

Good food!. This is the better chinese food around town. A bit heavy handed on the oil. Spring rolls are a bit expensive too. Over all I recommend this restaurant for take away. It is also hidden off the main road, u need to know where to look.
