Review Vinh Phat - Cabramatta

Cindy QTrinh Nguyen
Our favourite local Yumcha. Was chaotic when we came as it was 45min before the kitchen closes for lunch so the cart ladies were buzzing around our table. But food was great as usual. Very fast service.

It's not often that I leave reviews, but I just thought the experience of having our son's birthday function was too amazing to not share. Brian and Amy went ABOVE and BEYOND to cater for our event, despite the fact that we asked for changes so many times. The entire staff team are also so friendly and professional, we couldn't have asked for more. Vinh Phat is our regular go to for dinner as a family, because we know that the food is ALWAYS great and never disappoints. If you want quality food and an amazing customer service experience, the food, venue and team at Vinh Phat is all that and more. Thank you SO MUCH to the team for an amazing night full of fun and laughter for both kids and adults. Supporting you guys always!!!!

Delicious dimsum! The line is long but it moves quickly. We came on a Saturday afternoon and queued for about 30 mins. If you drive, it is recommended that you drop off your passengers to queue while you look for parking. It is quite tough to find parking on weekends there. You can choose which foods you like on the cart. If what you want is not on it, you can tell what you want to the waiter/waitress and they will bring your foods directly to your table.

Food was really tasty and cheap. Enjoyed both Yum Cha and dinner. We didn’t have to wait when we went Yum Cha on a Sat morning around 9:30am. You could book a table for dinner though, just they have a min spend per person at the moment.

It was a great lunch. We did queue for about 30 mins as this spot is very popular. If there was no seating time of 45mins then I would have given it a 5 🌟. We ended up taking it home as we can't eat fast enough and the trolly ladies don't come to our table/area that often

How do I put this, Best Yum Cha in Sydney. Food is always super fresh, and delicious. The staff are friendly and there is a yum cha menu you can also order from - heaps of variety. Peak times on weekends get busy and takes a bit longer for cart ladies to come around - but that's normal and worth the wait. Been here so many times, will be back again soon. (Also the ala carte menu is just as good - authentic, fresh and tasty)
Denise (Dee)
We queued for exactly 1hour when arriving at noon on a Sunday. Then finished eating within the 45min time limit. Food is hot and fresh, good value in comparison to yumcha closer to city. But between the nightmare parking situation around cabra and the queues not sure its worth it. The place seems fairly clean those rice, and service is what u normally get an Asian restaurant. Non existant.

Excellent yum cha here this morning. Arrived at 10am not long wait probably due to covid, Cabramatta was like a ghost town today. Trolleys rushing past we managed to flag down Sui mai delicious and plump har gow yum! The best I think was the seafood dumping omg so full of flavour omg! Next up chicken feet I didn't eat lol but wow the sesame Prawn roll was outstanding. Although I thought the dough was a bit thicker than usual it was so soft and very full of prawns. The salt pepper squid very tasty but no chilli, and squid was quite chewy which doesn't bother me. The pork spare ribs devine! I'd definitely go back for more as per usual we scoffed everything down at once sigh then no room for more! Located up about 12 steps.

Beware other diners - service and staff are quite rude. Food was okay though. Had lunch today between 12-1 on a Sunday after a long wait. The wait itself didn't ruin it for me though, I don't mind waiting for food food. Entire dining experience was ruined by me asking for some "cold water please". The lady brought a jug of coke and I kindly informed here that it wasn't what we had asked for, expecting she withdraw the coke and bring water as any other restaurant would do. She immediately became angry and visibly frustrated, shaking her head and proceeded to mumble: "Next time you come here, ask for tap water, not cold water". I informed her that tap water wouldn't have been ice cold and that interchangeable terminology, whether it be ice water, cold water, cold tap water all imply 'water' and that in no restaurant would 'cold water' really be considered as 'coke water'. She responded by saying "well most of the waitresses and waiters here are vietnamese, so you need to adjust your language for us". I immediately saw how childish and immature this lady was, mind you in her 50s so I just stopped responding to her. She continued to utter words while I just ignored her. My thoughts? Sure, a restaurant may have non-english speaking staff, that is entirely up to them who they hire. However, if you incorrectly take a customer's order, just kindly rectify that and move on - diners want food, drink and a pleasant experience and staff want to ensure that should happen. Don't make snarky comments about the terminology a customer should use to order 'water'. That wasn't the end of it. She continued to stare at our table for another 15 minutes from behind the bar where she was washing cups and muttered to her colleagues (potentially) foul words while we were eating and even as we had left. I am not aware of her position in the restaurant, whether she is the owner, management or waitress, but regardless, that gives her no right to treat anyone in such a manner.

My family and i have been dining at this place for over 15 years. They use to be at 2 other locations before they moved to this one. We only go here to eat yum cha and they have always delivered top quality yum cha. Our family fav place to go. 5 stars

Cheap is about all it has going for it. My partner & I always leave with an upset tummy from this place no matter what we eat. No such issues anywhere else. Iron Chef on the other side, Phoenix chain, Eaton, Yummy, 8 Dragons, Savoury Court, Fishermans Wharf, Din Tai Fung, Tim Ho Wan etc Selection is also a poor. Food quality is not that great and you can tell its just a place thats tried to mimic the dishes from other places that are far greater. On three occasions bathrooms had no hand wash or papertowel. (only there as friends, family etc have invited, otherwise would not have been there so many times) Also what's with the payment counter. Its such a stupid set up trying to pay when you practically can't even see the cashiers. Feels like you're in a damn Federal Courtroom about to be served.

Worst dinner experience EVER! I have never had such poor customer service. Ruined my birthday! Where to begin..... Literally the first 4 things I wanted on the menu were unavailable because they either simply didnt have it or there was a "big" party that ordered all their stock - this party consists of 40 people that took up only 1/10th of the restaurant. So they can't even cater for capacity. All of my 7 orders came out very slowly one at a time in the slowest manner, almost after we'd finish one dish the next would come. This is NOT the Chinese dining way. It should also be all enjoyed at once with rice. I had to ask for my fried rice 5 times, WTF. Food comes and we have no rice to eat it with, I kid you not. Then that went so quickly coz we were all starving that I had to ask for more rice another 5 times! I had one order of food left and by this time we had finished everything, I told the girl to cancel it and she just says "but they're already making it". I say to her l, "look at the table, your packing it up coz we are finished and you want me to wait for one dish, that I have nothing (no rice) to eat it with?!". By this stage I was fuming. I would NEVER COME HERE FOR DINNER AGAIN. Sunday night dinner service is like a "one year wait for food" (quote from my nephew who was hangry by this point) and the restaurant wasn't even full.. probably o Ly half full. To sum it up, they have no food you want, no service, no rice apparently, and generally what we ate was not worth the very expensive bill - could have just made the food at home and it would taste the same. Go to Iron Chef on the other side of the station next time. It's much better. If I could give this a minus ten rating, I would.

Most of the food we ordered were nice except for the salt n peper squid it tasted like we were eating battered tentacles. We couldnt chew most of it.Most dimsum were nice and yummy.Just need the staff to be more friendlier they dont smile much and even if you are actually ordering something.Food over all was great.
Tiffany Nguyen
Today i went to your restaurant, the food was really nice , but the service was a little bit terrible just because the man stare at me when I didnt know I order 3 time about vegie ! I felt bad but by the way the food made me happy , although I didnt have your lovely crepe mango

My partner and I had the worst lunch experience today at Vinh Phat, we finished our food, asked and paid for the bill, and wanted to finish my tea to wash down the food before leaving. Within 1 minute of paying the bill. i had 4 waiters/ waitress asking am i finished and wanted to clear the table. i told them no, give me 3 minutes. One of them even took the pot of tea away, then another minute later the Owner come and told me to leave since i paid the bill. i understand there are people waiting to be seated, I am a paying customer as well. The owner said " i can stay but i will be charged a fee for occupying the table ". Great service to your regular customer Vinh Phat. Ive been a customer at your Restaurant for more than 20 years since u were across the road, My friends and i will not return to your restaurant again.

Best yumcha and great food for real reasonable price :) will deffinantly recommend this place!
Dave Green
Amazing food, even better than I've had in Hong Kong. Very reasonable prices too!
Anh Nguyen
Family and I were regulars. Food was ok. Customer service however was always so shocking. Had multiple staff walk away even though they saw us asking for service. We also encountered a problem with our order, and even had a fight with the staff about it. The staff were rude and even shouting back at us in different languages. Not coming back again
Alex
service was great, came in and had people come serve us immediately. food came out hot and freshly steamed and tasted amazing while also being at an affordable price.
Marina Ung
Our first time experience here involved us having to wait for more than 20 minutes to get a trolley to notice our table as we were seated in the corner of the restaurant... while trying to get waitress and waiters attention, they never really seemed to want to care. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

On the positive note, the dumplings were definitely full of flavours, fresh and tasty! My favourite is chicken feet, prawn noodles, prawn dumplings and beef tripe! ✨
Munching With Mel
Rating: 4
Food: 4
Value: 5
Service: 3
Ambience: 3

Headed to the centre of Cabramatta for some warm hearty yum cha. This restaurant ticks all the boxes for a delicious traditional yum cha experience, for such an amazingly cheap price.

We ordered a variety of dishes: chicken feet, steamed vegetables, har gow (prawn dumplings), steamed rice paper rolls with xiu mai (bbq pork), some other prawn dumplings, marinated pork cuts, crispy wontons and crispy prawn rolls. Everything was made steaming hot, and was very delicious. I definitely would recommend the steamed rice rolls with bbq pork if you love a different take of the prawn rice paper rolls. The crispy wontons and prawn rolls were a bit oily, but so heavenly in the mouth when dipped in mayo sauce. Chicken feet here is on the chillier side but is bearable.

Service is okay and took a while for us to actually order since we were sitting in the corner, and staff were not so friendly, but I'm here for the food anyways.
Lisafoodadventures
No.1 recommendation in Cabramatta. It's must for yumcha. Lots of people travel here simply for the yumcha. Queuing can be quite long so I recommend to be prepared or arrive early. It definitely competes in quality across Sydney with mango pancakes, prawn spring rolls and the classics!Dinner here is good too as they provide a complimentary soup and fruit/dessert.
EllenTheExplorer
Great and fresh dumping! Fast service and reasonable price only 45 dollar for 6 plates! Definitely will come back
Benjamin Yeo
I’ve been going here since I was a kid when it was in a little store across the road. This is the best Yumcha place in Sydney! Their Chicken Feet and Cheung Fun are my absolute faves.
SAHAR M.
So I came here before with my group of friends (who were all Vietnamese and I’m not) and we had the amazing food and service I loved it.
But how I was so upset this time, my friend and I who are Arab we didn’t get served for so long after seating, no one came around to us, we waiting 15-20 mins after each plate!
I had to get up 4 times to ask if we can get food, in total we order only 6 dishes and then they were closing. We came 1 1/2hours before closing time mind you.

No hate but I don’t understand why people in front of us were being served and staff walking right passed us and us calling out every time. We got 4 differ people take our same order??? And never got it, and only brought one of it and it wasn’t what we ordered........
It’s was a special day and it was really upsetting because we weren’t rude, we waited and didn’t complain until we left.
I’m never come back I’ll go somewhere else, the food isn’t that good to be treated like that
I understand I’m going to Cabramatta but not everywhere is like this. I guest if I really have to go, I’ll have to be with my Asian friends since I can’t be served👎🏼

Best place for Yum Cha craving, price is OK. Good food and professional service. Come on a rainy day and the server already got a bag ready for us to put wet umbrella in. Unlucky that it also got affected by Corana virus issue so they were quite not busy these day, just a few tables on Sunday. Of course the number of customers really affect the food, so there was not many dishes come out on that day, Btw. I always give a thumbs up for this restaurants. Best food
Nozaira Sultana
Not sure why this place is so highly rated. The yum cha was so average. Nothing to really talk about.
Alice Chau Nguyen
The go to spot in Cabramatta for Yum Cha. It's a common sight for the line to wrap around the corner especially on weekends. I love all the dumplings here, it's always busy so you need to be quite patient with the servers. It's not always the best service but food is quite nice.

20/2/20: Came here last week and it was my first time having the dinner menu here. The food was quite mediocre. My first time trying lobster sashimi and I really enjoyed that but there was no standout dish for me.
D&T
The place is always busy during lunch time so can be some waiting time before you are seated. The food is great and fresh, the only issue I have is that if you’re seated away from the kitchen the food rotation can take quite a while before they reach you and when they do half of the food is gone. If you have the chance sit on the side where the kitchen is that way you get all the good stuff. Other than that the food is great and price is quite reasonable as well for yum cha. Would recommend to anyone.
Sydney Food Lover
I was recommended this place by several people for good dim sum, it was a bit of a trek to get here but you get a real sense of Asia when you arrive here in cabramatta so I thought I Hope I’m in luck with some quality food.
The dumplings were tasty, the main stand out was probably the egg tarts which had a balanced ratio of custard and flakey pastry.
I would say you should dine in their earlier sessions so your favourite dishes don’t run out.
Msstephyang
Yumcha here is very good. Everything tastes just how it should. Dishes are reasonably priced and staff are attentive. There's a little language barrier but using key words helps. There can be very long lines for this place on weekends so be prepared to wait. Highly recommend!
Kika 😊
We enjoy coming to this restaurant for thw food, it has a nice casual vibe to it and food is really nice. Only thing is that the portions are a little inconsistent. Weve been here 5 times and we come back because we love the salt and pepper crab! Overall nice food.
Sylvia Tran
Yum cha here is SOOOO good. The service isn't the best, but after going to many yum cha places, that kind of service is quite the norm. But the food will be worth it!! Keep in mind that there's a long line on the weekends, so come when it opens, or opt for going on a weekday.
EMZ EATS
Vinh Phat is my favourite yum cha place in Sydney that’s super affordable, has the best quality food and has a clean appealing interior. Vinh Phat’s lines are always excessive on weekends and public holidays so don’t be angry or surprised if you’re waiting for up to an hour. I prefer to go on weekdays in the morning! Vinh Phat has a great selection of dishes - my personal favourites are chicken feet, the seafood spring rolls, prawn rolls and steamed rice noodles. The mango pancake and silky tofu dishes are popular dishes. Unlike a lot of yum cha places I’ve tried in Sydney that are outside South West Sydney, you don’t have to pay for tea. If you go in the afternoon, sometimes there are less trolleys of food going around and the ladies might miss your table if you’re positioned on the edge, but don’t hesitate to ask someone to order!
Jasmine
Yummy fresh seafood and family restaurant. Nice interiors as well. We always go here for family birthdays or celebrations. The yumcha in the morning is also good with numerous options.
Josie
delicious (!!) dumplings which had me in love. Other yum cha options are a little bit limited but once you spot them and grab it, they are just as good as well ; Keep your eye out for them
Gloria Giang
The line is usually very long and extends past the corner of the block. However, we went on a weekday and waited only about 10 min at most. We were seated and there weren’t a lot of trolleys passing by our table. However one of the staff noticed this and came by our table. We mentioned to her which dim sums we wanted to eat and she was friendly and kind enough to come back to our table with our requests. I’m very impressed by her conduct. The food was delicious and affordable. We will definitely be coming back. Very happy with the service and price.
Kirsty Lei
Really rude staff, some ladies dismissed our request to order dishes and weren’t willing to help us order. Food took ages to come around to us and was quite limited in options compared to other yum cha places. They have the basic dishes but not as many as others. Don’t understand the hype for this place although it’s cheaper
Dee Tu
The service here is horrible. A friend asked to order some food, but instead was yelled at by the lady.
Not sure what’s all the hype about as the yum cha is average.
Mykim
One of the original Yum Cha places I used to go to as a kid got revamped and moved across the road. Now queues for this place needs to even be roped off its so popular! Totally understand why.. their dishes are plentiful, tasty and packed with flavour from the chicken feet to the simmai to hargow. I’d go here all the time if it weren’t for the parking in Cabramatta and the queue up here!!
Jess
The food is good here but the customer service wasn't friendly at all. One particular waitress was frowning and being very rude when we asked to order more food for the table.
Indyde
Hands down have never ever tried a better place for yum cha than this place. Always been a loyal customer for many years, I am happy to say that this place has always been good and consistent. Price and food quality is fairly reasonable and cheap compared to any other yum cha within the area. I am up for any suggestion on any other places that are better than Vinh phat because I’m pretty set at this place !
Mily Hoang
Typical Yum Cha restaurant, the queue can be long on weekends. I think this place is okay but I don’t understand the hype on this restaurant.
The service is okay!
Chewie
Vinh Phat is an absolute gem, i've been coming here my whole life, back when this place had creepy blood red velvet curtains and those nostalgic red melamine longevity bowls that were in desperate need of an upgrade. There is always a massive queue on the weekends but the food here is top notch, my recommendation is to order everything. Since it's renovation and relocation, the restaurant has significantly revamped its decor and so I find myself coming here for more special occasions such as birthdays, graduations, ect. I have such fond memories of this place will continue to do so.
Naomi Wu
It's not bad, I don't see the hype in it. I've had better yum cha. Alas, it is not too bad, but would not drive all the way to Cabramatta for it though. Some of the dumplings are nice, but not the specific prawn dumpling with peanuts. That was not nice.
Elaina
Ugh the yum cha here is by far the best...like dont even bother going anywhere else. The rice paper rolls and fried taro are a must try. Staff may take a while to get to you and the waiting time is quite long especially on Saturday mornings, but I always find myself coming back.
Fatmine
2.5/5
Expect to wait a long time for a table. Once you have a table, expect to wait a little bit longer for the food trolleys to come out.
It's busy and very popular because it serves pretty good yum cha, but I think their prices have recently gone up and I don't find it worth the money ($60 for 2 people compared to a max. of $45 not so long ago).
I'd rather travel a bit further away (Parramatta way) for Yum Cha for the same price and with much better service
Hungry Foodies
Absolutely LOVE Vinh Phat! MY go to Yumcha spot.
It's super busy on the weekend so expect long lines and slow service, wait isn't too bad though.
It's cheaper than other Yumcha spots and high quality.
Only downfall would be lack of variety. I find that the popular, main items such as the dumplings, fried stuff, steamed rice rolls are always going around but they forget a few others such as fried seafood spring rolls, steamed greens etc.
So you'll always see the same thing going around the trolleys.
However, their steamed dumpling variety is always delicious! Must try their mango pancakes also- AMAZING!
Theviettraveller
Delicious foods, friendly staffs and price is reasonable. The only thing is the line willl be huge on the weekend so you better come early. I would recommend you wait to try the foods.
Kweenie Eats
One of the best Yum Cha place in Cabramatta. Family and Friends enjoyed coming here. Get in early or a bit later if you don't like to wait in line for too long.
Lyonee Dang
Delicious food as always, a very popular Chinese restaurant in this area, friendly service however they forgot our sweet n sour like 3 times. Also great for yum Cha
Dingwenting Yuan
must eat yum ! I believe it's the best yum cha in sydney ! it was very busy in the Saturday noon, we waited for the table for half hour! but it is worth to wait !
Jz
Vinh Phat is by far the most popular yumcha restaurant within Cabramatta. If you're visiting on a weekend, you should expect a really really long line. However it is one of the most costly Yum Cha in this district. I really love the mango pancake and the tofu dessert.
Chelsea Lee
Food was good but customer service was appalling. I went there twice and it seems like the customer service is quite consistent - rude!! They rushed us to order food and was very impolite about it when we thought about ordering food again a couple of minutes earlier. They expect us to know from the top of our heads what food we wanted since we were half an hour to close and said "well you better order all now, don't order again in a couple of minutes". Disgusting manners.

Also, we were placed at an empty table but no carts were being pushed to us after about 3 dishes split between 3 people and I was still very hungry. How is this "yum cha" and no food is being brought over to us and we are rushed to order within the 1 minute the cart lady is standing next to our table? No patience from their employees, and no provided menus too during this "rush".

When we asked for fill up of tea they took the teapot away and didn't bring it back for a while so we had to ask again for it and when we did they rolled their eyes and didn't even apologise.

Overall, the food is good but I don't think I'll ever return or introduce this place to anyone because of such terrible customer service I had to experience.
Boop
The food aren't fresh most of the times. They are mostly reheated. Ate one of the scallops and it was chunky, old and tasted funny. There is a menu but they apparently don't hand them out to you, so choosing which dish to eat is a risk because you don't know the prices. I even asked for a menu and one of the workers just dismissed me by saying to just pick the food off the trays but then she told me she'll get me a menu. I never got the menu.

Food distributing isn't fair as well. The workers tend to favour the people sitting on the left hand side of the room rather than on the right, so waiting for food on the right side takes a very long time, and when food does come, it's often always the same kind of dishes.

The manager doesn't care about the customers. He prioritises money instead and can become very passive aggressive or aggressive to you when paying the bill. He is very rude and haughty as well.

Wouldn't recommend to go there.
SOGOKOU
Vinh Phat Yumcha (morning) is still fine but dinner is getting crappy now. Their food quality standard is not consistent and the price is not cheap.

I have experienced a couple of times when I had dinner there with my family. I couldn't believe they served very old and rotten oysters with XO sauce dishes. Usually the oysters have to be a bit chewy and you can still taste the freshness in your mouth.
I am so disappointed as a regular customer.

For me the customer service is still fine, it is just the foods quality need to be improved.
KamEatz
VINH PHAT

The go to place when craving yum cha.

This place has long queues after 10 am and has a big venue to accommodate large groups/families. Food taste is better and service is quick with a wide range of dishes compared to other places. Total bill is slightly cheaper too.

Overall, recommend this place if you are willing to wait and enjoy the yum cha experience.
LKH
My favourite yumcha in the area. Not as much variety as the ones in the City, but good enough for me.
Their dinner is also great. Lots of variety, good size of serving, and at reasonable price, too.
HANGRYHUNGRY
Favourite yum cha place in Cabramatta! They serve a huge variety of yum cha food! I especially love their har gow, xiu mao, egg tarts, pork dumplings, durian pastry, spinach dumplings, and heaps more! Service can be a bit slow, as the place is huge! But the quality is actually really good! Probably the best yum cha place in Cabramatta! They also accept card payments + does takeaway. Prices can be abit expensive though.
Kevin Ng
Been here ever since the small first opening of the restaurant and this place has constantly remained as number one for my yumcha preference. Cheap and delicious food.
Babybao
I recommend visiting this restaurant on a weekday when it isn't so busy. A large variety of items on the menu. Food is always fresh. Service is always quick and efficient. Vinh Phat is my go-to for yum cha.
Eat With Pete
Always packed out on the weekends, and rightfully so! This is THE best yum cha restaurant in Cabramatta!

Be prepared for a 20+ minute wait if you're planning to visit on a weekend.
Joseph Tran
Casual yumcha place that serves the best dim sims, chicken feet, fried calamari (forgot what it was called). However must always try the mango pancake as a dessert. RECOMMEND a weekday not WEEKEND.
PotatoPototo
My favourite Yum cha mainly due to their amazing mango pancake. It’s honestly the best i’ve ever tasted. All the dishes are fresh and delicious. Service could be better but otherwise very impressed :)
It's CAKe Time
Don’t let the lines turn you away – take it as confirmation of how good the place is. The line moves quite fast anyway and if you don’t like waiting just make sure you get there early ... If you’re in the area and looking for yum cha, you can’t do wrong with Vinh Phat. It’s a great place to catch up with friends or family over familiar foods done well.
Tanya
Came here for dinner, the food was really nice. I’d highly recommend getting the crab with vermicelli and prawn scallop balls. The service is very quick and staff very prompt. The price of the food was more on the expensive side but it was worth a treat! Would definitely recommend this place.
Food Is Life
This was great although its what you would usually get at any yumcha place. The only difference was that the food felt clean.
I dare say the wait in line probably made the food taste way better than it may be, because I was soo hungry by the time we sat down.
It was quite entertaining to see how fast they managed to clear and set up a table. Got to say i could've went to the other yumcha place in cabramatta for a much cheaper price, but more dessert options won me over.
Cindy Phan
One of my favourite yum cha spots! Food is mostly fresh and almost never disappointed even though there’s a miss every now and then. The customer service could definitely use a bit of improvement but it’s quite understandable with the high demand as it is one of the busiest Yum Cha spots in Sydney. Would definitely recommend.
Virelya.com
One of the best Yum cha restaurant in Sydney!!! The portion was big and taste was good!! Love their BBQ Pork Bun!! Came 9.44 and the queue was long already.. but we don’t have to wait for long.. around 5-10mins only..
Aynan Nige
Place is nice although it's gets pretty busy at times. I've been a few times for Yum Cha during the weekend and the line goes all the way out. The atmosphere is like any typical Chinese Restaurant, noisy and full of chatter but thats how it is. Its a bit too dark for my liking but it's not that big of a deal. The place seems very rushed, they expect you to finish eating very quickly and leave straight away. I much prefer taking my time, as Yum Cha for me is a time to catch up. The service there is not the best. The workers (waiters and waitresses) seem to be like robots, yes hardworking, but does not seem to have life in them. The food there is pretty good, especially their fried prawn thing. The restaurant's a bit dirty though, I once sat on something sticky and couldn't get it off. Overall, it's not that bad, I would go there again but its very hard to find parking at Cabramatta.
Elizabeth Lim
My favourite yumcha restaurant! Everything here is served piping hot and super tasty. Love love love the seafood rolls, beef tendon, beef stomach and black sesame balls. Only slight complaint is the bean curd rolls are quite average.
Price is very reasonable and the portions are generous. The queue might be long, but turnover is quick.
The Sydney Tram
Since the renovation, Vinh Phat has become so popular among yum cha lovers. The place is clean and spacious, so even the wait on a Saturday can be really quick (5-10 minutes). The prawn and scallop siu mai is my favourite, but other dishes are really tasty as well. I’d love to take my friends here so we can try out more yum cha dishes.
Mauyeeyee
First time went for Yumcha and they have already become one of my favourite Yumcha places. They have a very high standard of food at a very reasonable price with good service. Went there with a friend on a weekday around 11am, no queues whatsoever, I’m told that they get really busy on weekends.

We ordered 5 dim sum dishes and they were all delicious. We would love to try other dishes but we were already full because of the big portions. Definitely will go back sometime soon. The highlights of the meal was the Crispy durian cake. It was the best I’ve ever tasted. The outside was flakey & crispy and the inside was smooth & creamy with pungent durian smell. The pastry crust wasn’t greasy or taste buttery. If people like durian, they have to try. It was the perfect dessert to round up a satisfying meal. 😋
Janenguyen0109
Terrible service. They didn't have many dishes on the menu. Food and drink service was sooooo slow! Food was decent but we ate one dish at a time 😤

Beware other diners - service and staff are quite rude. Food was okay though.

Had lunch between 12-1 on a Sunday after a long wait. The wait itself didn't ruin it for me though, I don't mind waiting for good food.

The queue is really something else. Some positive points would be that it's cheap and food comes out quick. Not a fan of their prawn dumplings and Cheung fun - the dough is too thick and floury

Food : 😁 Great
Service : 😁 Great
Price : 😊 Good

Awesome Yum Cha experience. The dumplings and rolls were quite delicious. The Mango Crepe is a must try for dessert. It was sooo goood ! We ate so much I can't even remember which dishes we ordered! The waiters were nice and polite. There's almost always a line so be prepared.

Best yumcha place in cabramatta. Food is always good and service is pretty good too. Has a huge variety to choose from and is quite affordable
Vicky Bao
Despite Vinh Phat always being packed, this is my favourite Yum Cha place in Cabramatta. Expect a long line if you arrive at around 11am. You may be expected to wait for about 30 minutes or longer until you are able to get a table. The service works like this, so there are trollies of food going around and if you want something you just tell the ladies how many you want. The service is very quick and simple. There are many different dishes to choose, from savoury to sweet. Though, Yum Cha closes at 3pm. The atmosphere is quite loud and warm with everyone talking amongst themselves. The environment is extremely clean. All foods are reasonably priced for Yum Cha.

I have been here for yum Cha and seafood dinner. Both serve really delicious food, especially banh cuon. Would recommend for family events :)

Worst customer service ever!
First of all I need to mention the fact that I came in an hour before closing (3pm) but the service my family and I received was a disgraced.
1. We found a piece of hair in one of our dishes.
2. Simply rude. I was placing last orders but the lady taking our order kept cutting me off and talking over me as I was speaking, yelling "it coming, it coming!" And then walked away while I was still ordering. It happened not once but twice (because I didn't get to finish ordering the first time around) but some dishes never came and so we ordered for the third time.
3. Billed and asked to pay while we were still eating. I had asked if we could finish eating before paying and she said yes but stood next to our table the entire time waiting for payment and you guess it, I was asked to pay again for the second time in 5 minuets!

I am truly disgusted! This is not the best yum cha restaurant in town. The food overall was average and well overrated.

Really enjoyed the great variety of yum cha dishes available. One of the best I've been to within the area. Service was quick. The only downside was that some dishes served were not hot. It's best to go on weekdays during lunch time as you should expect a long queue on the weekend

Food is indeed affordable but not worth the bad service unless you're desperate.

Eaten here multiple times and I've never had a good service experience. Worst experience I've had is when I ordered quail and waited approx half an hour only to be told that another table that ordered the exact thing AFTER my order had been given the meal and had no warning or notice about this until I asked around 4 times.

Not enjoyable waiting in queue or eating as the waiters and waitresses always push you to take something on their cart even when your table is always full.

Average food (minus the mango pancakes, those are delicious) with terrible service.
Hungry Vibes Only
The best yum cha in Cabramatta. It's so affordable here and you will never leave hungry! All the traditional yum cha dishes are available here including hargao, siu mai, chicken feet and mango pancakes.

However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Don't look for a smile from staff or wait to hear a please or thank you. If Vinh Phat can improve this part of their restaurant, then they'll definitely be a lot more popular!

Vinh Phat is the best value yum cha I've had in Sydney. I usually come here in a group of 4-8 people, the bill is always $15-20pp and we're always rolling out the door really full. Queues here can be quite long, but turnover seems quite fast. I've had to wait in queues going out the door, going down the street, but I've always been seated within less than half an hour.

The service here is also sharp and fast, just the way I like it. The if the trolley aunties don't have what you're after, they tend to get your order through pretty fast. All the standard dim sum are great, always piping hot and not over-steamed. They do a really good liu sha bao (golden lava bun) which I've found quite difficult to find in Sydney. I also love how they offer Vietnamese iced coffee in the restaurant too!

A must try yum cha if you're in the west. Fast service, decent food selection, and best value!
Ph.D!
Vinh Phat is one of our favourite Yum Cha restaurant in Sydney. There is always a line on the weekends, but it does move quite quickly.

Plenty of food trolleys pushing around. Dumplings and other dishes are all hot and tasty. No extra charge for soya sauce & fresh chilli 🌶 unlike most other yum cha joints.

Service is very rushed, but you do get what you want if you ask.

Very affordable price for yum cha!
Hemi Guahk
The que for a table may be long and the service may not be the best at times but the quality of food is very high for the price. There is also a wider range of seafood dishes compared to other yumcha restaurants.
I'm Hangry
Vinh Phat is THE yum cha institution in Cabramatta. Many will remember when they were at their original smaller location on the same road – for some reason, the dark red colour of the interior is my main recollection of that location, outside of the food. However, the consistency of their yum cha over time cannot be rivalled.

To keep this brief, because well, if you haven’t been to Vinh Phat yet, you really should hurry up and go (though watch out for the lines from about 11AM on the weekend), I’m going to focus on the key dishes that place the Vinh Phat yum cha food a notch above most other yum cha places including the Phoenix branches.

1. Steamed prawn rice noodle rolls (pictured above) – the Vinh Phat noodle rolls are the softest and silkiest I’ve had at any yum cha place. Pretty much all other yum cha restaurants will have this dish but will fail at the dish due to hard rice noodle rolls

2. Seafood and bean curd spring rolls with plum sauce (pictured above) – this has just the right level of greasiness with a juicy prawn and scallop filling

To continue reading, see imhangry.net/2017/06/13/yum-cha-at-vinh-phat-cabramatta/

I regard Vinh Phat as one of the best yum cha places in Sydney and one of my all time favourite places that my family have been going to for years. This place is always popping on weekends, with queues that extend all the way down the stair case. Regardless of their long queues, I never have to wait too long because the service is quick. There's so many dishes to choose from here, all very delicious and typical of what you'll find from a yum cha service. As the place is always quite busy, you'll always expect to get the freshest dishes. The food isn't over priced like other places and offers complimentary tea. A must go to yum cha place whenever you're in the west.

This was my go to place for yum cha with my family, i don't know what happened but the quality of food and service was shocking on mothers day. After waiting 45 minutes you would think it would be worth it, but definitely not on this occasion! Not many variety of foods came out and some foods which really stood out from the rest which wasn't fresh were the dimsims, prawn siomai and also the chicken spring rolls (had some foul smell to it which i haven't experience in the past when ordering this). Even shocking is the fact they didn't have fried rice available that day as their excuse was that it was apparently too busy and one of their chefs didn't come in.. what yum cha place doesn't have fried rice!?! That is my first to ever hear that over my years of eating at yum cha's (20 yrs +). I'm definitely not taking my family here again..
Yuying
Food here is really nice:)
The service quality is quite good also, since the turnover for each table is quite high:)

Loved the scallop siew mai, chicken feet, and sesame ball!
Will definitely come back again!

Ok. This is my go to for yumcha. My heart breaks when I go to yumcha elsewhere because I will always comment "not as good as vinh phat". The food cannot be faulted, I leave satisfied every time. Don't come here on the weekends esp Sunday, if you can go on a weekday. You'll be lining up for 1hr + but besides that Yum!!!!! Chicken feet is my favourite dish here
Alan Lau
We went on a Sunday which was packed with people. We had to line up but got a table reasonably fast. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are very generous.
Pam
HONESTLY the most affordable yum cha in all of Sydney. All the dishes are succulent and generous in proportion. Me and my friend ate to our hearts content and paid just above $40 which is amazing. To compare, only a few dishes at Marrickville yum cha ended up costing us $80. I can understand why this place is always packed to the bottom of the stairwell. 🤤❤️ I come here at least once a month now.

The only thing I dislike is how the batter on the deep fried octopus legs is not crunchy, which is a letdown as that's my favourite dish lol.
Stacy
This place is definitely my go-to place whenever I want to eat yum cha. The food is always good but the long queues and their service during busy periods are a major turn off. Your seat actually determines whether or not you will get food served to your table.

The left side where the kitchen is, you will definitely get a variety of dishes. By the time the cart gets to the right side of the restaurant, forget it. There won't be much variety and you have to order food (which takes ages or the waitresses forget).

I'm still questioning whether or not they charge you for water?
Steph Yang
Great Yumcha and the familys go-to place for birthdays(dinner). Great food, nice staff at a reasonable price. Usually for me and my partner plus drinks would cost about $55. If you need anything just get the attention of the people in the green tops as the cart ladies won't really understand. Overall, great place for any occasion.

alright food with alright service, resonably priced.
great for families, groups, gathering.

didnt need to line up but probably because we went on a weekday.

Vinh Phat is one of the best yumcha places to go to! It's always a family favourite and I have been eating at Vinh Phat way before they moved locations. However, due to the new location it has gained more popularity and hence on the weekends there is usually a long line of people waiting for a table. I suggest if you wanted to eat here come when they open or towards the end when it's nearly closing time. The food are really yummy and always come out nice and fresh. The dishes that I highly recommend are the prawn dumplings, siu mai dumplings, mango pancake and my all time favourite seafood spring roll! The service at Vinh Phat are quick, incredible and friendly. The staff would ask if there's any particular food I would like to order and they would bring it out so that I didn't have to wait. Not only that, the staff would constantly walking the table to check if the teapots needed to be refilled. The price is reasonable. I will always come back to Vinh Phat as it never disappoints!

Yum cha is my go to! Definitely should get their banh coun and dim Sims. Yum cha is always fresh only downside would be sometimes the wait is quite long

Waited only about like 7 mins in queue today after lunch time. We had prawn hargou, their prawn mixture with fried bean curd skin with sweet N sour sauce and some seafood siu mai. Everything was hot and delicious. The dumpling skin was really nice and al dente. We had the prawn cheung fun and the new fried dough with prawn cheung fun. They both were really nice too. The food just melts in your mouth. Dessert was mango pancakes and mango mousse jelly. Both were to die for. Will come back next time.
Little Miss Hungry
The food is actually good but the terrible service ruined our experience at the restaurant and any chances of us returning. The staff were not responsive and when they did eventually come to the table, they were very rude. Everything took a long time, from getting a waiter to take our order to getting water refills for our teapots. It was not a busy night. They also dumped the bill on our table when we were singing happy birthday to my sister. We hadn't asked for the bill yet (clearly). Also, we asked for plates and forks for the cake and after waiting almost 1/2hr we decided to just use the napkins. So disappointing. I'll always associate the restaurant with this negative experience.
Picturesque Food
Not really a fan of waiting in line, however, woke up early today and arrived at Vinh Phat at 9am. To my surprise...there was no line!
The decor of the restaurant is somewhat classy with all the usual hints of Cabramatta which make it unique and great.
The food was decent and priced okay. I was disappointed with the dim sim though. It was very tough inside.

I can never quite catch on to the pricing at yum cha, but safe to say Vinh Phat has great prices! Wouldn’t say it’s the best yum cha out there, but was still tasty and enjoyable. I can imagine this place being completely full and buzzing on the weekends, considering it was a weekday and still a decent amount of people.

Many, many seafood choices with pretty much every dumpling having prawn. The best had to be the prawn and chives, so much so we ordered another serving.

Wouldn’t say that great of a variety, and it was pretty much the same carts being pushed around. Staff were actually kinda nice, surprisingly as I have never come across this at yumcha. By nice I don’t mean above and beyond, more like they don’t get annoyed at you and some actually notice little things like empty tea. However, when it came to getting some veggies, it was quite the task! Never came around so we decided to order some, but not without a couple of failed attempts. So in the end we just had a plate of veggies as we were done with everything else.

Seafood restaurant with the typical Chinese restaurant share dishes. The seafood spring rolls and Chilli crab noodle are a must when visiting.

Just been there on Saturday line was decent not too long got in pretty quickly food was spontaneous freshly cooked served while still hot large variety just awesome I would highly recommend cabrramatta than others just spectacular
Docfood
It used to be my favourite yum Cha place but it's gone down a bit. The last few times having to line up for a while and not much food variety on offer. Although the food is nice, somehow the lack of new food coming out and the waits make it not that worth it. The price is reasonable.
Tortuguita Comiendo
Even though the line was super long and it took about half an hour to get a table the wait was well worth it. Lots of yummy food which came quickly and was fresh and hot. After all the food the bill came which was very reasonable.

This is one of my favourite Chinese restaurant in Sydney. If u prefer sweet or deep fried Chinese food, u should try it. We always order the crab (can't remember its English name, Chinese name is 星洲炒蟹)with their fried bread (this is soooooooo yummy, must try!) Eat the crab first, and then dip the bread into the sauce! We only had six people but nearly finished 8 fried bread (we had five other dishes, so 8 is already too much for us). The other dishes are not bad as well, but try their special ones would be a safe choice.
Pushpanjali Atta
Worst chinese food ever. Scared to eat chinese in the area. We threw everthing we ordered( corn n chicken soup, schezwan chicken and chicken n salty fish fried rice)
BubblyCake
I've been to Vinh Phat for years, before they moved to their current location. Hands down my favourite yum cha place compared to the ones in the city. Be prepared to wait in line during the weekends but it's all worth it! It's much more affordable that the other places I've been. I highly recommend the chicken feet and the rice prawn pancakes but there are many other savory dishes that are very good too. A slight let down was the mango pancakes, as I felt it wasn't up to the standard I was looking for - way too much cream filling. The staff are friendly and regularly walked around to refill tea without us needing to ask.

Vinh phat is the best yum Cha for me, everything is good and tasty also a lot of variety and has fresh seafood and dessert and I hardly get sick of it. No where can beat Vinh phat yum Cha! I love every dish there. Would recommend :)

This place is completely underrated!! We went with a bunch of friends and we are so glad we decided ln this yum cha place instead of other more high profile ones in the city!! The taste is so authentic and the portions are super generous!! The price was far more reasonable than any yum cha place in the city!!! The service is surprising very friendly too, we hardly needed to call the waitress for extra tea - they came by and checked all the tables regularly and brought around new pots of tea without being asked!!! Highly recommended!
