In comparison to other joints in the realm of $12 pub dishes, J’s is best in terms of price, value, speed of food, portion size, sauce and accompaniments (chips + salad).
You really can’t compare this to proper steakhouses as it’s like comparing Prada to Kmart. People come here really only for the sauce and salad dressing and massive portions to feed an entire family on a budget so it’s a winner.
If you want a cheap and fat feed, definitely come to J's Kitchen.
J's Kitchen have a few menu items (e.g steak, kransky sausage) that are just $12 for a massive portion of chips (or rice), salad, complimentary sauce, and your chosen protein. Sometimes they give you two pieces of steaks! There are also some other menu items that you can get such as chicken schnitzel at a higher price.
P.S: Get the dianne sauce.
Massive portions, extremely affordable and located at an easily accessible area. The restaurant is always bustling with people which adds to a vibrant ambience. You’ll leave feeling satisfied and in a food coma.
Quality wise the food is alright for what you’re paying. Since it’s always busy the workers are quite tired and such the service may not be 10/10 which is justifiable and understandable.
You get more than your money’s worth here (although I’m not sure how long that’s going to last because the price goes up by $1 each year). Aside from that, the salad dressing is the absolute highlight!!! The chicken schnitzel is fried beautifully (nice and thin, not too oily and without too much crumb). Always love to go back for a hearty meal every once in awhile.
If you're a student, or someone who's on the low then J's kitchen steak house got your back. With 12$ meals all week round. But heres the best bit, if you're slightly hungry yall should get the kids menu $5 meals. These includes a kids menu fish and chips which includes a battered fish and chips. Probably the most budget restaurant here.
Another things is their milkshakes, although its just syrup based shake and can be slightly sweet. I have discovered that they have green tea milkshake and to my surprise they taste exactly like matcha milk tea stores you purchase from milktea stores. For a steal price for 3$ the drink is quite cheap. There's also a special where if you purchase a meal then you get 50c off you're milk shake which is basically a $2.50 add on.

Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a cheap meal or a snack. Cheap drinks and free iced water at your disposal. Friendly staff

Over the years J’s Steakhouse has definitely died down of the craze it has for the past couple of years. However upon entering the restaurant stairs on a Saturday night, the atmosphere was still busy buzzing with people.
Service was fast and efficient even though they were jam packed with customers. I ordered the lamb chops and my boyfriend had the steak. It was a generous dish filled with 3 lamb chops, chips, salad and mushroom sauce on the side - they definitely don’t hold back at all! Although the lamb was tender and the chips were crispy, I actually live for the mushroom sauce and salad dressing which I always find myself craving after some time. My boyfriend also enjoyed his steak where it was cooked perfectly.
With paying $11 for delicious hearty meals, we cannot complain. We both left J’s steakhouse almost in a food coma and we’ll definitely be coming back when we feel like we’re starving. I recommend for anyone who’s looking for a cheap and filling meal!
Absolutely love this place, big portion size and a budget friendly place - very affordable. You can replace the salad with rice and the meat is cooked very well. Very busy at times but fast service.

Too overrated to be honest. In my opinion, the hype isnt up anymore. The food is affordable even though the price has slowly increased by a $1. Would still come to enjoy the lamb chops as it is my personal favourite. However the salad doesn't taste as fresh, I could be wrong as I always come during the night and they always provide new fresh salads in the morning.
Very fast, affordable and portions are huge! Its the right amount of messy and unhealthy for a visit every few weeks. Ordered the kids meal twice, and honestly, even the kids meal left me feeling very full.
The food was delicious and the portions were generous at a great price. The fruit smoothies are $4 for a large cup blended with about four different fruits. I've been to this place many times and I'm constantly recommending this place to all of my friends, love it and I'm definitely coming back!
The food is served quite quickly. Large portions, I would suggest eating half and bringing a container to take the other half home. The mushroom sauce is tasty. Lots of seating. Well priced. Nice atmosphere for the whole family.

Had lunch with bub and hubby yesterday as we were craving pub feed. Went to J's and not disappointed. They serve massive portions, in a very affordable price!
Ordered fish and chips from kid's menu, and it was huge! More like a normal portion I would usually eat, and the adult portion is even bigger. Had coconut juice and viet iced coffee, delicious as well. Definitely gonna go there again when craving pub feed.

The food isn't designer it's a hunger buster. Sure to satisfy even the 120kg male for 12$ 👌🏼 always completely covered with the sauce of your choice for no extra charge.
The service is also extremely fast and there's plenty of seats, even when the place is packed out, I've never waited longer than 5 minutes for a table.
Drinks are very cheap also at 6$ for a jug of soft drink.
Only issue is parking and it's a cash only place. Other than that it's perfect 👍🏼 l
Very inconsistent. Last time i went my steak was nice and tender, cooked just how i liked it. Other times steak were thin and small that didnt taste well.

Extremely good and cheap steak with chips and sauce. The portion sizes are also huge! Although the steak can be quite chewy, it is worth the price you are paying and I would definitely recommend this steak house for steaklovers in the west.
Always the go to for cheap steak while maintaining quality. It's loud and busy but always a good sign of a good food place. I usually go for the steak or calamari.

Good pub grub at super cheap prices. Atmosphere is nothing special, it's quite loud with lots of families and large groups here to enjoy hearty meals without the huge price tag.
Order at the counter, take a buzzer and then pick up food when ready. Staff are very efficient in the kitchen, with a pretty reasonable wait for food considering how busy it gets here. Takeaway is also available.
Food is of a pretty good quality considering the price, with very generous serving sizes. My fish and prawns were cooked perfectly and I couldn't finish my dish. Loz had the grilled chicken breast with at least 3 portions of chicken on his plate. Be warned, the meat is drowned in sauce! Great place for those who don't want to spend a fortune for a big meal. And it's cash only!

The food here is ridiculously cheap for its portion size. Never have I ever finished my meal here no matter how hard I try. There are a few variable options which are really affordable. I highly recommend the Kransky sausages because sometimes the steak and chicken get over cooked and tough.
Guys! This is such a legit place to eat steak, lamb and others. So cheap, for only $11 you get a t-bone and another piece of steak with chips and salad. Don't forget to choose your sauce, I got mushroom and it was delicious. It wasn't a long wait as well. If you're looking for a cheap and filling food place to eat, check it out! I really recommend it! You won't regret checking it out!

A great place for cheap eats, but don't let cheap deter you. The food here is great and the service is very quick. There's everything from steaks to calamari and fish, all for $11 with very generous servings. Get a side of sauce for an extra dollar to go with your fries!
If you ain't got the money for higher standard eats try this place! They have a few dishes but the steaks here are the best and really really generous on portion sizes, the sauce on the salad has a nice acidic kick and chips for extra munchies
Been here many times and not once at all has the steak been cooked badly (even on a happy hour) unless you get this random 2nd piece then yeaa it's most likely that one is dry and tough (experience..😢)
Overall a nice place to come to for a very hungry stomach or a casual eat at cabra with friends~

This place serves really cheap pub food. You can get a hearty meal with side salad and chips for only $11. Lots of families and high school kids go here. The jugs are cheap and good for sharing too. The only downside is every time I go it has been a hit or miss. First time I came here, the food was cooked beautifully. Second time, I didn't even finish half the dish. Anyway, the food is really cheap and filling if you don't mind the inconsistency. My younger siblings love this place.
The quality of the steak can be questioned but this is offset by the LARGE portions (and delicious too!) of chips and salad. I'm aware that most people find the steak questionable as it doesn't look, well, steaky? It's blue/grey in colour and looks cheap but in the end, you do get what you pay for and I haven't had any health/bowel syndromes from consuming this dish. Overall, its a delicious pub eat with filling portions. Great vibes, lots of high schoolers come here to eat after school hours and drinks are quite cheap priced at $1.50 for a glass of softdrink. I think they have a buy-1-get-1-free option for drinks on Mondays (I'm not sure!)

Was brought here by friends when I was in Sydney. Huge servings, great fill, and really good value for what you pay ($11 for calamari rings, salads and chips which I couldn't even finish!). The place seems to fill up really quickly during peak dining periods - so maybe try to get in early!
J's kitchen is my dirty little secret. If I crave pub grub I'll head here. The serving is generous though easily a couple of thousand calories. The lamb is fatty chops, thick fries, and creamy salad. Also cheap soft drinks by jugs. The atmosphere isn't much its simply a place to go to if you want cheap pub grub best for teens/students

I always get the steak with mushroom sauce and it's always a huge serving which I always finish and I've trained my girlfriend to finish her dish as well I love waiting in line and telling the lady my order and she writes in shorthand code but I can never decipher whether "M" is for medium rare or mushroom but the bad thing is looking around and seeing people not finishing their food and I wonder if people would judge me if I have some of their chips that they leave behind but my girlfriend stops me but the chips are getting chucked into the bin anyway and I get upset when people order the kransky and not finish it because who the hell orders kransky at j's
Great place for a quick, cheap, filling feed. A variety of chargrilled dishes served with a side of fries and salad for under $15. Can't go wrong really - just don't expect to get a table without waiting during dinner period.
J's kitchen never fails to deliver a food baby haha the servings are huge. For $11 you get two big pieces of steak the sauce is usually okay nothing amazing but still yummy. They also have a really yummy salad dressing :) Good spot for a post-gym feed

His hair is fashionable too; short on the sides with a long sprouting top. Ironically, that hair cut probably costs double the $11 steak his girlfriend is ordering.
Decent place, service was really fast, food was delicious. $11 plates comes with chips and salad, chips were warmish hot and crispy and salad was fresh with delicious dressing (I normally don't eat salads when eating out). Plenty of seats and decent prices $
Very worth the $11. While the steak isn't fine dining level it is always well cooked and slathered in lots and lots of sauce with lots of chips. Great for family dinners. Drinks are cheap too!

All servings were huge and some of us had luckily decided to share some of the dishes. A lot of people come here and complain about service but what do you expect from a place which charges $10 for most dishes and a self serve counter. Don't expect any fancy, just what you pay for. I guess the only thing I would complain about would be the long lines or the chips that turn soggy since they're placed under the meat and sauce.
A few more spoonfuls of sauce would be preferred considering two pieces of chicken on top of each other but other than that, the chicken was tender and moist.
What they’re known for is their $10 dishes, all day every day, which has proven very, very popular within the local community. It’s also a great fit within Cabramatta as you can now get western food at a competitive price similar to the Asian food found in the area.

Nice and cheap and large portions. Went recently with a couple of mates and boy is it busy even on a monday night! Couldn't believe it was just $10. I ordered the steak when the food came out (literally in 2 mins, but i think its because we came at time that they already made a bunch) it was huge! The plate, the steak, chips and salad all cooked and made well and tasted great! Greatly Recommended to those who are looking for a fast and filling meal and on a tight budget :)

For those who dislike the steaks here, you can't expect to pay 10 bucks for the best quality. It's simply the best 10 dollar steaks you can get anywhere around this area! Possibly even anywhere else, it's one of the best. You pay a cheap 10 bucks to get a huge serving of steak, a generous serving of yummy salad with of delicious ranch sauce, generous amounts of crispy fries and a big ladle of whatever gravy you want. The mushroom and Dianne sauce are known to be the best and I absolutely love it, ill pay an extra 2 bucks for another portion of sauce! It's cheap, humble, tasty and definately worth more than 10 bucks. J's Steakhouse set the mark for 10 dollar cheap and fast eats around this area. It's widely popular with the local community and there's even people from other areas coming into Cabramatta or at Cooks Hill Hotel their older venue to eat the food. Besides steaks there's lamb, pork, chicken, fish, sausages and pasta. All for 10 dollars. Chips money. Go for it, it's worth it you can't ask for more
Food was great came out nice and hot. The pork chops were good and grilled fish was delicious. Calamari was nice my daughter loved it. Overall all was good 5 star. Also it wasn’t as busy here.

I been to this place a few times for dinner. Their portion sizes are huge and food is delicious. Price is fairly reasonable. My go to dishes are the chicken boscaiola in first and the chicken fillet as my second option.
