This is an absolutely lovely waterfront restaurant overlooking the marina. We tried the $55 per person banquet which offered a wealth of various dishes. The service was fantastic however food was a bit slow, this is understandable given that they are very busy when we went on Saturday night.
Overall a great experience and I'm definitely keen to come back again

Fantastic location by waterfront. Excellent service and very good food. The waitress names Vivek was very friendly. My wife and I were very happy the service. The very fresh seafood platter and seafood pasta we were shared that was delicious. We had a wonderful Sunday night at Piato.

I was so happy that we ended up at this amazing restaurant for our last dinner on holiday. Our last night in Cairns was incredible the staff was so friendly, attentive and overall best customer service. The owner is such a nice and welcoming person.
Now to the food review OMG the food was fantastic the seafood platter was awsome and so fresh and the steak was cooked to perfection. My husband had the beef cheeks which were incredibly tender.
We finished of the night with the creamiest creme brule, coffee and a complimentary ouzo.
Thank you Piato team for making our last night a night to remember and we can't wait to come back again soon. I would definitely recommend 👌

This was a last minute family lunch! The atmosphere was lovely along the pier. We were greeted by friendly staff. We ordered the award winning seafood platter, arancini balls, steak with garlic butter & fish n chips. All were lovely to eat.
They have a great range of lunch specials as well.

Easy to see why every lunchtime is busy at this restaurant! Incredible specials which include a glass of vino, and all beautifully prepared by Chef Michael. The arancini and calamari dishes are amazing, and as Cairns locals, we love supporting this great business.

My friends and I had the pleasure of dining here some months ago and we still talk about what a great experience it was till this day. We had the beef cheeks, the ribs and some bugs. The food was absolutely fantastic. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. The team at Piato really went above and beyond, we will be sure to return here again in the future

Corat trout is recommended!!! The seafood platter is a bit pricey and could use more flavour. Kids meal got big portion.

On holidays in Cairns, we stopped by for lunch. Food was amazing as was the service, very friendly and went above and beyond, even providing our requests that weren't in the menu. Best Pina Colada in Cairns and an Affogato to die for. Wish i grabbed the names of the staff as they were amazing. Highly recommend!

We had a group of 10 for lunch and all of the meals were amazing - loving the new lunch menu for a smaller option. Great food and great service - never disappointed when we eat at piata - well done again guys �

Finally made it here and certainly wasn’t disappointed. The calamari was melt in the mouth and the sword fish was fantastic. The service was attentive without being intrusive! Piato is a great affordable addition to the Cairns fine dining scene. The whole experience was a memorable one and we’ll definitely be back!

I don't like to give 5 stars but I couldn't fault it. We had the banquet and loved it, the dips were amazing, the lamb cutlets were yummy and the baklava was to die for. The service was friendly and a great location.

Not only did we enjoy the food and service but we had a great time. Being from the US we were warmly welcomed by the owner and after our meal were given lemoncello and oozo shots on the house.

We were a group of 4 friends and go out each month to a new Cairns eatery. I decided this time and we dined at Piato's after reading the Cairns Life article. The service was good and attentive - too attentive with plates and glasses being removed continually when we had not finished what was on/in them. After our meals we ordered coffee and the climax came with the hot mocha being sliding off the waiters tray allover one of the friends - she was soaked and distressed . The coffee also splashed over the friend next to her. We were all devastated and the sodden love went home in tears. As we hoped she did not have to pay for her meal but as many friends and family said later after hearing of this - the four of us should have not paid for our meals as the day ended in disaster. The duck salad was small , the calamari had no greens even decorating it and the baklava was dry. Sorry but not so impressed.

I wouldn’t return, we had the banquet x3 and the most enjoyable dish was the lamb cutlet and the potatoes. The calamari was oily and not edible, the swordfish tasted like something I would buy out of the freezer in Coles or Woolies. Not impressed at all.
