We enjoyed a great potato & pea curry here, along with some well prepared naan bread. The bread was filled with a generous amount of cheese & had lovely burnt bits around the edges. Curry was well spiced & we ordered extra hot & it was!
It was a the best indian I've had, staff were friendly and welcoming, it was beautiful and clean inside and had a wonderful atmosphere. Exactly what you want in your dining experience.
Such a culinary delight this one is. I visited with my family for dinner and had one of the best Indian meals of my life! I highly recommend the non-veg platter, korma and Goan prawn curry; they were so so delicious. The staff is super friendly and accommodating too. The 3 of us had a ball there and hope to come back soon!
Went with my sister last week to this beautiful restaurant and what an experience we had! The meal was authentic and delightful. The attention we got from the staff was impressive and ambiance was too good. So glad we found Marinades, it is definitely the best Indian restaurant in Cairns!!
Lovely Restaurant and excellent Service. Mandy made our night with her smile and good recommendation of the food. We had a great time 6 of us. And we have been in many Indian restaurants in Cairns. For us is the best one and they have many Vegan options. Nice ambience, good food and great service. Quite happy with our dinner tonight, we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, butter naans and it was nice. I am quite picky about Indian food so would definitely recommend!
Great Food as well as quantity is also good, everyone should definitely try it. Taste is equally good like Indian food in India. Also prices are bery nominal.
I’d give a 5 star rating for the Indian food they serve in cairns! We had chicken tikka masala and also tasted gravies of butter chicken and rogan josh. Butter chicken was the best of them all. Even better than some of the Gurgaon/ Delhi based restaurants!
It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. Food came out fast and it was tasty. The garlic naan was probably not as fluffy as some other Indian restaurants, it was a bit flat. Butter chicken and lamb vindaloo was flavoursome and very enjoyable. Place was clean and service was good.
Delicious food and friendly service. They accommodated our dietary requirements with no issues at all. 100% recommend it! Will definitely come back.

We ordered tandoori mushroom for starters, for mains it was bagrella baingans and paneer butter masala with lasooni naans and tandoori roti in bread. Our order for the night was flavourful and breads were fresh going along well with the main dishes.
A very nice Indian restaraunt with amazingly tasty food and quick service. They were very hospitable. Food was authentic. A definite recommend for anyone looking out for indian food in Cairns.
Terrific food - the lamb vindaloo was spicy and delicious..i am an indian food lover from melbourne and did not expect there is an indian restaurant this good in Cairns!
The last day in Cairns - We were looking for a place for dinner which would be like the icing on the cake after a memorable trip to this great place and glad my wife found this gem.
Lasooni naan - Oh man! Never had such good naans even back in India. Soft and fluffy with right amount of garlic blended in without overpowering the actual taste. A winner!
Aloo Parantha - On the average side. The filling could have been better.
Paneer Butter masala - Just delicious! I have had it in other restaurants where it will either be very sweet or very buttery and creamy. This was just perfect with right amount of ingredients mixed together to create a delicious dish.
Veg biriyani - Can't complain about this one. We were too full by the time we finished half of this and decided to take it away.
At the end of the meal, I was just wishing I could pack this restaurant and take it back with me to Melbourne! Will definitely be the 1st stop when we visit Cairns again.

The ambiance was nice, and warm. Food was really good..the lasooni naan and lamb madrasi reminded of the indian spices coming straight from mom's spice storage! However, the price we paid for the taste, not the quantity.
But just two cues-
The curry quantity was just enough for 4 naans (measuring scale is not 2 people, because i was so excited and hungry that i could've even devoured 6 naans)
We thought of having biriyani. But that was also served in the same sized handis as the curries. That's really not fair :(. I'm sure those who had it, were half-fed. In traditional restos, if you dont have handis or bowls to serve biriyani, simply the biriyani is served on the plate, the meat served on top or side, with little salad to make the plate look fuller.
People who are on diet, or who usually (and always) eat less, will find this place mesmerizing.
For the Great Indian Bhukkad, carry a good balance, or be ready to hunt out for more in the night markets..
The food is authentic Indian, probably the best you would get in Cairns. We had ordered a dal, a butter chicken, palak paneer and a biriyani. The food was good, at par with what you would expect from a good restaurant back home in Delhi.
A lovely surprise; excellent curries and breads, plus a lovely owner who was happy to chat at length about the menu. Wish this place was back home in Melbourne!

A very good choice to have Indian cuisine in cairns.
Had dum aaloo, dal.makhni n butter naan.
Dum aaloo were exceptionally good.
breads were soft n crispy.
For me it was a perfect place to have indian food in cairns.
Consistently yummy indian food over years of going here. Also well priced for budget conscious people with good portions. Or try the lunch Tali's for a cheap meal and to taste a few things. My vegetarian favourite is the rich and delicious Paneer Mahkani. Also the beautifully textured eggplant dish. In house lime pickle is great. The lamb Biryani has also been consistently good. I am not sure about the other meat dishes. A nice treat for lunch or dinner, we go whenever my family visits from out of town. Usually a warm atmosphere too.
Good food, was just walking the street and got in to have dinner randomly, was attended also very warmly and greeted, ambience was also was veryyyy nice, loved the food and ambience. ☺️☺️☺️

Our 1st day in cairns and looking for a perfect indian meal .. thank u zomato for bringing us tho this much deserved 4 star place .... true to its pedigree ... we ordered a non veg thali .. which had the right portion of lamb .. chicken .. and vegetables like dal .. subjee .. perfect for an all round indian culinary experience. . We also ordered malaise kofta ... it's traditionally sweet and not as spicy as the one served here . A bit disappointed there .. but the owner was kind enuff to share a fact that local ozzie like it a bit spicy .. so no complaints there . We also called for a papad platter. . Interesting. .
Overall . A good experience ..

Friday night dinner, did book. We had the lamb vindaloo, Goan fish curry and palak paneer, rice & roti. And it was lovely! Have missed good authentic Indian food since moving from west Melb and this place sure did delivery! Service though lacking general friendliness, was fast and efficiently! And meals were generous seizes packed with flavour! Will be back!
Worth visiting when next in Cairns people. Owner friendly and accommodating. Wait staff efficient and friendly also. I loved it and my 5 year old who had Chicken Madras loved it too!! More than enough food served and very reasonable price.

We love it!. We've dined for lunch at Marinades many many times, and every single time is a wonderful experience. We generally have the triple garlic naan with lamb saag and chickpea masala with a little rice. The food is always a delight and consistently delicious and fills us up with food left over. We love their service which is always friendly and professional with a beautiful warm smile welcoming us as we enter their establishment. The wine is always nice and only have a suggestion to perhaps make a few changes to the offering and use either gas or a sealant method to keep the wine tasting nice all the way to the end of the bottle. The only disappointment we've ever experienced there is when their not open and we're hungry!
Ok but not spectacular. Entree Murg bazaari kebab (chicken) was cooked to perfection. Absolute highlight. Butter chicken was watery in the sauce and pretty average. Naan bread pretty thin and I've certainly had better. Nice place and lovely staff. Overall food was ok but not spectacular.

Definitely in my top 5 Best Indian restaurants in QLD! Great food, service and atmosphere. Only criticism was the long wait between starters and mains and they were only at about 30% capacity. But it was damn worth the wait!

Food was fabulous and you can order from your table which is fun as well. Be careful hower, when you order through the waitstaff they explain the meals and sizes of the meals. When you order by yourself, you can order a meal that is designed for two and have to eat it yourself. Ohh well, pleasant mistake which I enjoyed thoroughly. Lol
The Paneer Chili was the entrees in question, every mouthful was a culinary adventure into flavour heaven.
Generous serving sizes all round.
Ohh... and the Cheese and Spinach Naan will blow your mind.
Paneer and butter chicken were so tasty! Worth the price and it wasn't too expensive. Rotis were also well made. Overall, very happy with the meal. It came out quickly and the portions for 1 dish is good for 1 very hungry person.
Took wife on her birthday dinner, we absolutely loved it, foods we ordered were amazing, rich in flavours and delicious.
Also the staff were fabulous, highly rated customer service.

SO TASTY. So shocked to get such a great curry in cairns. Such a HUGE vegetarian menu too! Staff were attentive and food didn’t take long to arrive despite being short staffed. Would definitely recommend

No wonder this place is rated the best Indian in Cairns. We love our Indian and could not fault the food here. Simran looked after us extremely well and gave us some terrific tips on what to order based on our preferences. Phenomenal food. Highly recommended.
