Well it's been too long since we visited this place. Last night we returned and it was unbelievably amazing. I thought the last time I was there that it could not get any better but it has!! The food was just beautiful, cooked to perfection, absolutely nothing that could be criticized. The atmosphere is just fantastic and the hosts, Mike and Junko, together with their wonderful staff just make the whole experience an absolute joy. I truly did not want my meal to end!! Can't wait to go back. Would recommend to anybody looking for fantastic food which is also great value for money to visit this place. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. Well done guys!!! x

Great service and a real friendly host. Very pleasant atmosphere and quite a range in the menu. Food is also a real plus. Highly recommend the bistro for breakfast, lunch or sonner
Had a surprise dinner here at the end of our hols. Food was amazing. Good choice and well cooked. Staff were excellent. Will definitely return if we are in Cairns again

1) Is the lasagna home made on the premises?
2) What roast is it this Sunday?

Beautiful food, service and at a cheap price. My partner and I live close so have become regulars at this little staple and is one of my favourite places to go for a coffee and bite to eat!
Great and friendly service, the seating is really nice with options to sit inside a train! Food was really good, highly recommend!

Beautiful place in Freshwater station. Opens early. Their eggs benedict was one of the best I have had so far.
Reduced service at the moment. Pre made toasted sandwiches, savoury breakfast muffins, sensational banana bread using bananas they’d grown themselves and coffee plus a few other bits and pieces only at the moment. Eat at the tables in the station which is in a pretty, historical looking ye oldy style with a nice view of horses grazing.

The Best eggs Benedict and big breaky ( the day starter) I’ve had since moving to Queensland from Melbourne!
I personally went back to the kitchen and thanked the staff. Compliments to the chef !
Fresh ingredients cooked to perfection! Eggs perfect , toast buttered , sauce on the side as we’d asked for , extra bacon as they were out of mushrooms , brilliant sausages too ! If only we didn’t live on the sunny coast ! Next time you get the train do yourself a favour and arrive early and enjoy a brilliant breaky !
* they also have pre made egg/ bacon muffins for your convenience if you don’t have time before the train arrives

Decent menu options and great customer service. Can get busy before train services, but in general a good spot for a feed/coffee
More than expected, reasonable price with good food in good size and friendly staff plus good service , please don’t come here so we can enjoy the peaceful environment and comfortable space, nature wild or air-conditioning old style tran...... can’t stress how good is it. If there is 6 starts , this restaurant deserves it!!!
Excellent food and service. A nice touch to enjoy both in a historical train carriage beside the freshwater station. This is a regular for me.

We eat here regularly, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. Set up at the Freshwater Train Station you can dine on the original Platform or in a restored Carriage. They have a small bar for a beer or wine with your meal. Once you have been there it is hard to forget
