Review Golden Boat Chinese Restaurant - Cairns

Freshly cooked and delicious. The manager is a very kind and looked after us well. The roast duck is so crispy outside and tender inside.

Good food. Good service. A little pricey for what you get - we managed to run up a fine dining bill from a pretty standard Chinese menu - but it was an enjoyable meal nonetheless. Worth checking out.

Really enjoyed my lunch here today. Freindly & very quick service. Very flavourful.

Some of the nicest Chinese we've had in a while. Had been here years ago and quality is still just as good, but not the same numbers of people dining as used to be (probably a post C*V1D thing)

I was offered a Gluten Free menu and it was explained that GF Soya sauce would be used, however, the chicken was absolutely dried out & tasteless, I actually had to ask for salt. It was supposed to be a Honey sauce, but it had more chilly than honey and was certainly the worst meal I have had in a very, very long time. The owner gentleman was also very unfriendly, so not an enjoyable experience at all, especially for the first night of our holiday.

You cannot really question the quality of the food, it is delicious although pretty pricy..the quality negates that. I’ve been here twice now when I get to come to cairns and the service unfortunately lets it down hugely.I can only assume they are short of staff. Meals coming out in dribs and drabs or not at all… just disappointing when you spend so much…not sure I would go again to be honest.🥲

This place charges premium prices for low quality and minimal selection. Don't bother eating asian cuisine in Cairns, this restaurant really opened my eyes. Customer service is trash. Put my hand up for 10 mins straight to get some soy sauce but no one came. The ambience was filthy. Unvaccummed floors, empty obsolete fish tanks, no trolley service for a place that is meant to serve yum cha. The worst yumcha in Sydney is levels above this subpar supposedly 'Chinese' restaurant. Don't waste your time here.

I went into here expecting the best Chinese food Cairns had to offer. Boy was I disappointed. The menu was very bare bones. Upon first glance, I quickly realised that it was riddled with spelling errors and westernised spelling of classic chinese dishese which had me worried. No authentic Chinese restaurant would call dumplings, dim sim. After we ordered the food we had to wait 40mins for fried wontons only. The rest of our order comes another 15 mins after. How can you call your self a yumcha restaurant and not have so many essential yumcha dishes. I.e. no shu mai, no cheng fan, scallop dumplings. There was literally only 10 yumcha items not of them authentic.
