First ever visit to Cairns, early Jan 2022. As well as the terrific Cairns Foreshore and natural attractions we were delighted to find this huge shopping plaza in McLeod Street. Impressive range of retail outlets, including Myer, Target, fashion chains, supermarkets, liquor outlets, and large food hall. Also air-conditioning πŸ₯΅πŸ˜. Highly recommend a visit. It's also situated across from the famous Grand Hotel with the wooden crocodile bar. Lots of taxi's outside or call for pick up is very efficient. πŸ‘πŸŒΊπŸŒ΄

Consider that the town feels very regional, this has a regional feel to it. It is great for us from Sydney to walk around someplace that is like a halfway between Sydney and Cairns.

Nice shopping centre about four blocks away from the tourist centre of Cairns. Place has a myriad of shops, mostly the usual franchise flavours. Well air conditioned, nice to get out from the hot spring sun. Pleasant food court upstairs in the middle. Cairns Station (main departure of the Kuranda Scenic Railway) and the Queensland Rail Office is next door (via ground floor passage way). Easy walk down Shields Street to the water front and Esplanade.

Cairns Central is the most popular Cairns shopping centre. Importantly for me, it has very good wheelchair access.

The Cairns Central Shopping Centre is bounded by McCleod Street, Spence Street, Aplin Street and Bunda Street. It contains such shops as Myer, Kmart, Coles and Woolworths and also Event Cinemas. There's plenty of undercover parking. There are around 170 shops with a wide selection of foods at the food court. In Spence Street is the bus terminus where you can catch the Sunbus services 143, 150, 120 and more. On the Bunda Street side is the railway platform for catching the Kuranda Scenic Railway.

Perfect place to visit on a hot sunny day after lunch if you are feeling lazy to put on any sunscreen πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It's alright. The security are disciplined and professional if not overly polite and deserve every drop of respect for some of the things they put up with. My only gripe is the lack of variety. There's a lot of copy and paste stores with different names. I'm sure these have their niches but it's difficult to find specific things because of this.
