Review Ali Babba's Kebabs & Cafe - Cairns

Some of the biggest and best kebabs in Cairns. Almost too big to eat in one go! Friendly staff that make you feel welcome, I highly recommend giving these guys a try next time you feel like a good kebab.

Ordered a kebab after a big night out as you do. Everyone that ordered after me started getting their kebabs so I politely enquired with a senior gentleman who appeared to be running the show as to where my order might be. He said it won’t be far away hang around it should be out soon. So I continued to wait patiently. After another 5 - 10 minutes I asked again if it was on its way. Please be patient I was told so I continued to wait. Everyone one else in the group was finished their food and I was still waiting so I enquired again more abruptly this time. I was told that they had given my kebab away because I wasn’t waiting at the counter which was a lie. I had not left the counter the entire time. They then started filling out a new order for me only to find shortly after my order in the cabinet under heat lamp. They never called out my order and had the audacity to blame it on me not waiting for my order. No apology nothing. Yes I had a few drinks but there was 7 of us waiting for food and everyone else managed to get their order. If my order got called out one of us would have heard it. If they had checked any of the times I enquired they would have found it. Mistakes happen. They were busy but to blame it on me and not apologise for their mistake is not on. Kebab I eventually received was a bit stingy with fillings but not too bad.

Decent Turkish kabab restaurant in Cairns Australia. Friendly staff who prepares a good doner kabab roll and meal box. Halal food. Outside seating. Has a deal when u hv a meal, soft drink or a salad at couple of dollars more. Open till late in the night.

Good place, nice ambiance, good food options... Moderate priced kabab... But, kabab was not so tasty... Taste of meat was nill... Meat was not crunchy... Some thing missing with the taste of the kabab...

You know when you can just tell when people care about what they do from their work? This place is so much more than just a late night food stop. The food is fast, flavorful, delicious, and authentic. The service is friendly and outstanding. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Also, he gave me the advice of the century: one bite of kebab, and then one chip with sauce ;) wow, total game changer!
