Review Tides Waterfront Dining - Caloundra

We had the $52 three-course lunch special today, and were very impressed. The food was tasty, serving sizes were more than adequate, the staff were attentive and funny, and we had a great view of the beach. I can't wait to go back and try different dishes!

Had high expectations for this place while on holidays in Caloundra. We knew it was school holidays so we specially booked on a “quieter” night on a Tuesday. Unfortunately there were two groups dining that night, one about 10-12, the other about 8 people. Took 15 minutes before we had to initiate someone coming over to take our drink/food order - felt like they had forgotten about us. Entree came 30 minutes after that (45 mins from arriving) where we were jokingly/casually told that our mains were going to take a while as the kitchen were working hard on catering for the groups in the restaurant that night. Topped up with many drinks waiting for our food. The table next to us actually left due to the wait before getting their mains. The food eventually came over an hour later from finishing our entrees - so a whole 1.5 hours plus from us arriving. Luckily the food was exquisite. My partner said it was one of the best steaks he has had which is a pretty bold statement. I had the chicken which was pretty delicious. Essentially, I would rate the overall experience a 3.5 but google doesn’t allow half stars. The food was great but considering the cost, the wait time really tarnished the experience for us. A better prepared and planned evening in the kitchen would have secured a great experience for us and all the other diners in the restaurant that night

Fantastic location and excellent service. Food was all delicious well good portioned. A very reasonable wine list makes this an excellent dinning experience. Slightly on the pricy side compared to other local restaurants.

Truly amazing fine dinning. We came across this gem when we ordered lunch downstairs at another restaurant. We saw well dressed people sitting at nice table and it was packed. So we booked for dinner the next night. From the second we walked in we were treated like royalty. The cocktails were the strongest and yummiest I've had in a while. And the seafood was just amazing. Was blown away by the price if our bill as we expected it to be a lot higher than it was. This place is an absolute MUST on every foodies bucket list. Cannot wait to go back.

Fantastic view with fantastic food and service makes a gorgeous lunch! Cool sea breezes and 3 courses was so relaxing and fun! The meal was scrumptious and the service was top shelf. Very nice thank you

My partner and I had our short stay in Caloundra, and found this restaurant with such a great view from the Pacific Ocean. So we tried to reserve a table for lunch and requested for the veranda seating. When we arrived, even made our reservation ahead, we could only around the corner! So make sure you book a few days earlier for great view seating. We decided to try their 3 courses lunch special menu. When we started to order, the staff told us to have the 2 courses first as the portion of each course was quite big. So we took his advice. For entrees, my partner had pork belly salad and I had the 1⁄2 shell scallops. They’re both very fresh and delicious. The portion for the pork belly salad was really big. For the main, we both had the beef, and it’s cool to perfection. The garlic & thyme dauphinoise potato was also very nice. Again, the portion was very generous too. The staff was right as we both felt quite full after these 2 courses. But we still would like to try their dessert, so we just ordered one dessert to share. I picked the blackberry panna cotta as I don’t have a very sweet tooth. This dessert was beautifully presented and also very tasty. We really enjoyed our lunch special here. It’s very reasonable priced(2 course $42;3 courses $52), very friendly staffs and one of the best views too. You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful Fine Restaurant, very friendly staff, we have ordered seafood platter for 2, which was very tasty, fresh and delicious. Expensive but worth it. Would recommend for romantic couple outgoings.

Fabulous friendly service from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Good selection of food and generous serves, not to mention extremely tasty. A view to die for and we will definitely be back.

Near perfection! Amazing food and just as good service. Best food we have eaten in some time. Kingfish, scallops, pork belly and violet crumble were all on point! The balance of flavours, colours and textures was perfect. 10/10 Highly recommend.

Absolute perfection is all I can say! I have never eaten such amazing food! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with the 7 course chefs tasting menu. The food and wines were so well balanced together. I can’t recommend this amazing restaurant more highly! I would give it 10 stars if I could! Can’t wait to dine with you again!

On 20th December my husband and I visited the restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a table on the verandah over looking the water and views out to the Glasshouse Mountains. The staff were very attentive and helpful when asked questions relating to the menu. The meal was more than we expected. Beautfully cooked and well presented. The staff gave us a lovely surprise to celebrate our anniversary at the completion of our meal. We will make the long journey again just to enjoy a wonderful restaurant again

Yesterday's lunch was just ok, pork belly was a bit dry, Barra was good, scallops average, pulled pork terine lacked flavour. I have been here once for dinner and it was great hence I expected a better lunch dining experience.

Will be back....soon! Great food and drinks and exceptional friendly service. Don’t normally order dessert either but it was amazing. Seafood was super fresh and had plenty of flavor and texture :)

5 star dining at relatively affordable prices. Excellent service delivery, immaculately presented and proportioned dishes. The owner or manager took pains to explain what each dish contained as they were being presented. Ingredients were fresh and of high quality, the food was delicious.

Valentine's Day $80 pp not even a glass of bubbly on entry or any sign it was Valentine's just silver circles on the table. Food was ok with the exception of dessert disappointing share dish nothing romantic on the plate just melting ice cream. Beautiful night and the blinds were down couldn't even see that beautiful view! 2 hours later $435 for 3 of us don't mind paying that but definitely over priced!

My husband & I celebrate by going to Tides whenever we can - birthdays, anniversaries, lunch dates when the kids are at school - the food is always amazing, with friendly staff & a beautiful setting, you can’t go wrong. Well worth it!

We dined at Tides last night and had been looking for a restaurant that dished up sensational food and cocktails, and as our whole family is in the hospitality industry, we value fantastic service!! Tides delivered on all accounts. The food and drinks were out promptly, tasted INCREDIBLE, and our gorgeous French waiter was second to none. He made our whole experience all the more enjoyable. He also made our little people, 7 and 3, feel very welcome. I appreciated that so much. � Thank you for such a great family night out. We’ll be back ���

Full dining experience was everything you could ever want ... perfect venue and view ... same for table service attentive at all the right times and not to mention the food ... wow !! Summed up in a word Superb !!

As usual, perfect service, great views and fantastic food. We dine every year for our anniversary at a minimum and are never disappointed. 7 course degustation menu with matching wines is superb and an absolute credit to the chefs. Love this place 💕

Had an amazing meal at Tides last night, the food and the service couldn’t be faulted . Such a beautiful venue as well, can’t wait to eat there again .
