Review Home Cookin Eats - Caloundra

My friend and i were so excited to try this new little place the post on facebook looked amazing. How disappointing.... we arrived at 8.30am for $10 plate there was barely anything left in the buffet waiting for sausages eggs that werent cooked greasy hash browns, people waiting by the toaster for bread to be supplied once it was toaster took for ever by the time it was cooked the rest of our plates were cold. Then try to find a clean table to eat at near impossible. They had a young boy probably no older 10/11 trying his best to clear tables. What can i say than this place has no order or system what so ever...Great idea and concept just no pulling it off.

Well were shall I start. First of all the positive aspect of this place. Great service, very young employees but I guess it is a family business so to save money their children are helping. Customer service is very good but cannot make up for all the bad things I have experienced. When we arrived in the premises, it was a cold atmosphere, a U-shaped table arrangement with red plastic table cloths. Very off-putting. Than the young girl explained that for $10 you get the green plastic (!!) plate and you can fill it up once with as much food as you can fit on it. For $18 you get a yellow plastic plate that you can fill up as much as you want. For me buffet means if you advertise it for $10 you should be able to have as much food and as many times as you want, or advertise it different so people will not be disappointed or surprised. After we paid and understood what we had to do we had a look around the food. Half of the items that were written on the signs were not available. So they had hot boxes for example for capsicums but there were no capsicums no mushrooms available. All they had for deserts or sweet breakfast was plain yoghurt some pineapple (looked like from a tin) and some muesli which looked like wood chippings. The 'Coffee machine' was like do it yourself and so was the toast which took for ever. I tried the scrambled egg and the sausages and the bacon and some spaghetti from the tin. Everything was barely warm and not cooked very nice. The bacon and the sausage tasted rubbery and the scrambled egg made me feel sick. It was slimy and not cooked properly. A women kept walking around and asking how everything was and if everyone was happy. The little boy kept watching us from the corner. A little too overwhelming for the bad food. Long story short I was not impressed and I did not even have the heart to tell the owner in person. We stood up and left because we felt very bad due to barely eating what was on our plates. I do not mean to be rude. This is my opinion and I hope the owners read this and try to improve on what is going on.

Went for the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, great food and lovely staff. I like that you get unlimited juices/tea/coffees included without having to pay extra! Highly recommend :)

We looked at eating here for lunch, but decided not to. The staff (I assume the owners) were friendly, but the buffet only had a few selections of salad, veggies and drinks. Nothing to tempt me.

Amazing customer service 11/10. Great price, affordable healthy food definetly have a try, you wont regret it.

Would highly recommend this place for anyone seeking amazing food(extremely fresh,tasty and very affordable),with warm friendly staff(who were happy to modify my meal to suit my many dietary requirements).What's not to like...l'm so happy to discover this little gem of a place.Will be returning soon

Healthy and wholesome meal. Good selection of salads and caters for allergies, etc. Friendly staff, clean and tidy environment.

Best salad in Caloundra! Roast pumpkin potato and sweet potato so good.

The food is like a home away from home, ive come here being unwell and nothing makes it better then “home cooked meal” I’ve had the delight to try most of the dishes they put to the table, how boy are they yummy! they even had options for vegetarians which is something you don’t see to often at buffets. Customer service is awesome too! Really happy with this place! �� Highly recommend

Its $10 for as much as you can fit on a plate includes coffee and a yoghurt if your looking for a economical place to take the family then this is it....I don't know of anywhere you can get a plate coffee juice and yoghurt for that price on the coast!! Worth a try at least once.

Top eating establishment. Great fresh home cooked food and plenty of it, at a bargain price. Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit and will return regularly. Fantastically friendly owners who make the experience that extra bit special with their genuine desire to see you roll away happy. Thank you for putting Caloundra back on the map. Was bloody awesome, had breakfast here this morning with my beautiful wife & 2 kids while browsing the markets. Great food & friendly staff � we will definitely be back again! Keen to try the lunch �

My friend and I had the pleasure to have our lunch at your restaurant today and were more than impressed with the variety of food , very reasonably priced, flavour and quality ticked all the boxes , Kerri is so friendly it is just like eating at home.....I would recommend that people should treat themselves to go and enjoy good simple home cooked food, we will be going back...I hear the breakfast � is great as well...well done and hoping the people of Caloundra will support your efforts.

Very affordable price for dining buffet. Yummy food. Satisfied after eating, my tummy is full. Nice place for dining in an open area. One thing for suggestion, it will be better if you have live entertainment like solo singer or duo performing as added attraction for the diners both lunchtime and dinner time. I am available to perform if you like hey..the owner.����

Fantastic service, good honest food & a wide variety. Chicken schnitzel and passionfruit pannacotta were a standout. Loved it!
