Steak breakfast
Absolutely loving their steak breakfast. Everything came together perfectly. The steak was cooked perfectly. The pancetta and mushroom jus had a good depth of flavour. One highlight was the brioche bread! So buttery and moist.
Truffled Scrambled Eggs
That truffle flavour of the eggs was strong and fragrant. Perfect texture for the eggs. I was very satisfied the avo and tomatoes side. That zingy flavour brought so much freshness to the dish.
Overall, a high quality cafe with an unique and amazing menu. Their food was packed with flavour yet well balanced. For sure I will come back again!
Had a lovely lunch with this small busy cafe. Great coffee and very friendly staff. Gnudi is delicious!!
Great Venue. Now have a very happy staff member who used to make my coffee. This is a wonderful venue with great coffee, ample room for groups or couples. It’s not too noisy. Whilst I just had eggs on toast, nothing was too much trouble and I promise to become more adventurous on my next visit.
Great food. Very friendly staff. We loved the courtyard- spatious and warm on a winter morning. We had a great experience dining there would come back again.
A quaint little cafe in Camberwell. Came here out of recommendation from a friend of a friend that lived in the area. Came for brunch around 11.30am and got seated straight away. Service were quick and the waiters were polite. The food was good but portion was a bit small. Coffee is great though, no need to order an extra shot.
It may have been raining but that didn't stop me from heading out to brunch. I decided to order a matcha latte to warm me up followed by a green apple smashed avo. The smashed avo was everything you wish for colorfull and every bite delicious. I also couldn't go past the pistachio and olive oil cake which is a work of art. The plating is amazing. I definitely left stuffed full of deliciousness
Absolute loved the seared fish dish. A special on the menu and it was beautifully presented. The mussels were equally as good. Nice coffee to go with the meal.

It's not often that I'll go to the same cafe 2 weekends in a row, but the dishes that we got were so delicious that round 2 was a necessity. On both occasions, I ordered the Middle Eastern scrambled eggs which are possibly the tastiest eggs I’ve ever had! The flavoursome eggs were infused with spices while being light and fluffy. The garlic sumac yoghurt and chilli oil on the side paired immaculately with the warm walnut buttered Turkish bread.
My partner ordered their signature dish- the Dish and Spoon Bomba both times as well. This is no place for thin rashers of bacon, Dish and Spoon go all in - with the bacon resembling a slab of pork belly rather than actual bacon; nothing like we'd ever seen. Give it a dip in the tomato and tarragon hollandaise w/ spiced pepper purée, and you've got yourself a mouthful of heaven. We thought it was such a unique and fun dish and especially loved how they plated it up.
Going by how good their food was, it was no surprise that their drinks would be at the same standard. Their blended sunrise smoothie deserves a special mention as it was so good that is was also a repeat order. A perfect combination of mango, pineapple and coconut making it a great drink for any occasion.
Really enjoyed my brunch experience at Dish and Spoon. We stumbled upon this place after looking at rating and reviews on Zomato and we definitely understand why it’s highly rated.
The service was exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful!
We ordered the scrambled eggs and the bomba. They were so amazing and had so much flavor in both dishes. The spices in the scrambled eggs were amazing and definitely beats all the other scrambled eggs I’ve tried! The bomba was different to a “typical” brunch dish but absolutely delicious!
Would definitely revisit to try some other things on the menu!
A little crowded, because the food is always great! Coffee is good too. Great place for brunch, and the outside seating is very pet friendly. Staff have always been polite.
5 stars well deserved. We love to go to this place for brunch. Very creative dishes and friendly staff. I want to order the whole menu each time. Can someone please stop me !!!
Hands down my favourite brunch spot in Melbourne after a solid 3-years of scouring the classics and the new spots of Melbourne. The absolute friendliest staff that just makes you feel right at home.
And the food? As our brunch scene develops through the years and the lines between traditional breakfast and contemporary restaurants blur, Dish and Spoon is leading the charge with their ‘specials’ menu, month after month of dining here, they always keep you on your toes with new innovative fusion dishes and keep the menu refreshed.
The coffee? Representing the team Campos with descendent Single-origins (My favourite espresso was served here, an Ethiopian Goji) and the same can be said about their batch-brew.
But then again, the food and coffee are a reflection of the person who wields it, the chef and the baristas and they love what they are doing. Props to Franks and the team.
Nice place! I know the place for long time just got chance to go recently. Coffee is very professional way and food also nice. Just take a bit longer for waiting the food.
I don’t often give a 5 star review but Dish & Spoon definitely deserves one! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing coffee and the open steak sandwich was simply brilliant. Do yourself a favour and try this amazing cafe!
This place literally has something for everyone!
Miss 5 was particularly stoked with the fairy waffles w fruit and the crayons to colour the kids menu in. Hubby was in coffee heaven with 2 single origins to choose from (he couldn’t choose and so had both) and I was in food bliss - with the both the fritters and the breakfast board light, impressive and delicious, exceeding my expectations!
This place has a very strong following and was busy on a cold Saturday morning, bringing me to the only downside of dish & spoon - it was very noisy and somewhat slow.
I would highly recommend this place (regardless of whether you have kids or not) and would suggest to go on a day when you have plenty of time to enjoy the gorgeous offerings.

Dish & Spoon had the most creative and well-thought vegan breakfast I have ever tried. It is plated with a swoosh of beetroot hummus; crispy squares of medium tofu which have been battered, deep fried like tempura and then doused with paprika; a lentil and black rice combo in a Middle Eastern style with sultanas and nuts; lightly battered and fried cauliflower which was pre-cooked to be soft inside and crispy on the battered florets; smashed, ripe avocado with lemon and little chunks of apple for an extra sweetness; and bread with a smooth texture but grainy flavour. Think that last sentence was a mouthful? Just wait until you eat it.

Dish & Spoon cafe in Camberwell continues to be one of our favourite cafes in Melbourne for so many amazing reasons. Owners Francesco and Elainne have put their heart and soul into creating this friendly rustic corner cafe that truly goes that extra mile. When visiting Dish & Spoon cafe you can expect to enjoy specialty coffee by Campos Coffee Roasters, a deliciously innovative and flavoursome all day brunch menu which will not disappoint and best of all, a friendly service that will make you feel very welcome.
Staffs are super friendly!! Love the breakfast board and great soy chai they made, and courtyard area was so nice to enjoy the sun. Totally worth the journey travelling from city:)

Love Dish and Spoon! A beautiful venue with a great team and amazing food.
I’ve tried the vegan breakfast - vibrant, tasty, satisfying and unique! I’m definitely keen to go back and try some more dishes.
The coffee there is fantastic too!
Great coffee, so good to have a local cafe as amazing as dish and spoon. The service was great too. It was quick, the staff was friendly and efficient!

I thought this weekend couldn’t be topped food wise, after an amazing few days of good food. I then arrived at Dish & Spoon, and everything was blown out the window. This cafe is serious goals, with an incredibly inspired menu filled with the most delicious options. What I love about the menu is that most dishes don’t contain meat, sure you can add it but you really don’t need too as everything is so full of flavour.
The Potted Salad is the coolest, with this delicious hummus hiding under an olive crumb. The pickled veggies bring another dimension that compliments the whole dish.
The Mediterranean Scrambled Egg was massive, and the garlic yoghurt was incredible. Who thought scrambled eggs and yoghurt worked, but it does! Loved the addition of the coriander and chilli. The walnut spread was so good!
Beetroot Gnocchi with goats cheese and pesto, hold the phone, my all time favourite dish - it was incredible!!! With broccolini and beetroot, so so tasty.
We enjoyed the drink specials of Cascara Iced Tea and the Black & White. Both incredible and I recommend them on a warm day!
Make this a priority to visit, you won’t be disappointed!
We came into dish and spoon the other weekend and loved everything about it. The owners have a long history in the hospitality business and after listening to them tell their story, it was clear that their passion and love for this industry resonates to the food, service and overall atmosphere of the café
We tried the dish and spoon bomba, the organic poached chicken and the olive oil and pistachio cake. The bomba had a thick slab of bacon which we loved, and amazing middle eastern influenced flavours – it was a great take on the traditional benny ( I especially loved the tarragon hollandaise)
The organic poached chicken was another winning dish , it pulled a lot of Asian influence and was extremely refreshing on such a hot day . We loved the amount of chicken inside the beautiful cucumber wrap and loved how this salad was presented – it looked extremely elegant on the plate and tasted as good as it looked
The pistachio and olive oil cake was the menu item that intrigued me the most! What a marvellous creation indeed, the cake was moist and full of flavour, the orange notes really complimented the flavours and the braised rhubarb added the perfect amount of tartness to cut through. This dish is easily one of my top 10 brunch dishes of 2018 . What a breath of fresh air !
Thanks so much for having us in !
Now, this is how you do brunch! What a lovely little cafe. Service was impeccable which is always a great way to start a meal. The wait staff were super attentive and our glasses of water never stayed empty.
As for the food, the Middle Eastern Scramble looked like a simple dish but a lot was happening on the plate. The scrambled eggs were perfectly spiced and served with walnut buttered Turkish bread - not something I see very often.
The free range eggs were cooked to my liking. This came with toast and bacon.....and as we all know, bacon makes everything better. Everything.
Great food, excellent service, unending glasses of water.....from Sunny Days, it's 5 stars!
The lovechild of Elianne and Francesco Sgro, Dish & Spoon presents guests with a delectable brunch menu that looks to European and Middle Eastern flavours, aligning with the founders’ heritage.
Housed in an interior that speaks to food for the soul touched with creativity, Dish & Spoon possesses a relaxed ambience. Wooden floors and furniture, and exposed brick interiors create a cosy space with plenty of familial warmth.
Exceptional cafe. Honestly, the best in Melbourne. Artisan coffee. Amazing breakfast. The most friendly, warm and welcoming staff. If you haven't been here, you are truly missing out. 5 stars isn't enough.
A local cafe in our area it was a must to mark down on our list and were we pleased to have! The interior is buzzing with large counter including a display of baked treats, along with adequate seating across the cafe as well as a fanatic outdoor seating area.
On the menu today we went for the Breakfast Board (Vegan), chips and the Dish and Spoon Bomba.
Starting with our entree, the chips were hands down one of the best chips we have ever had!!! A chip that does not require any dipping sauce is a fantastic chip, they were wonderfully seasoned to perfect and the cut was spot on. Moving onto the Breakfast Board the quinoa puff was lovely sweet addition to the plate balancing out a wonderful classic smashed avocado.
The Dish and Spoon Bomba was another smashing dish unlike many cafe dishes you would come across, a welcome difference. Bacon was crispy and the Bomba delightful with a slight tang.
This is a wonderful cafe with friendly staff and incredible food, the chips are a MUST for all visiting. Highly recommend.
We walked into Dish & Spoon on a very summery warm Sunday not knowing what to expect. The venue was busy but not chaotic. We decided to sat outside in the courtyard under the sun. We were given menus and specials and offered drinks.
These guys are definitely passionate about their coffee. It both looks and tastes that they put a lot of effort in delivering delicious beverages and so our long black was perfect. Sadly, we omitted to ask what the single origin was; regardless, it was delicious and so easy to drink.
Our waiter was exceptional; knowledgeable; professional; attentive yet not in our face. And all that wrapped around a very chilled breakfast atmosphere. For us, that alone is a winner.
We asked for suggestions and followed them faithfully. We ended up getting the sardines with chorizo, a fried egg and a deliciously slice of olive bread with olive oil and herbs. Now this dish was phenomenal packing so much flavor yet not overpowering. It was truly delicious.
Our other choice was the aromatic poached chicken and boy was this dish packing some serious flavour. Firstly, the dish is presented in a simple yet elegant manner which prompts for some yummy photo taking. More importantly though, the combination of flavours just really goes; the mango, the chicken, the chilly, the cucumber. It was fresh and definitely what we needed and paired perfectly with fresh and lemony drinks.
We loved that these guys are eco friendly and only had non-plastic straws. It’s the little things that make a difference.
We will be returning ASAP.

4.5/5 Run by a husband and wife team, Dish & Spoon is a warm and friendly cafe that’s found in the surburban streets of Camberwell. Dish & Spoon is larger than it might appear from the outside, and the dog-friendly courtyard out the back increases their capacity for the large peak-hour crowd.
This is a cafe that takes itself very seriously. And for good reason. The coffee is exceptional and the breakfast and all-day menu is thoughtfully designed and the food is very good. The Middle Eastern scramble is a very well balanced light meal with a perfect balance of strong flavours.
Dish & Spoon is located in a small group of shops on Highfield Road in Camberwell. Away from the hustle & bustle of Burke Road, this beautiful cafe is set on a gorgeous tree lined street. With seating out the front, ample seating & a cute enclosed courtyard out the back, it feels very welcoming with exposed brick walls, wooden floorboards & plenty of plants.
We visited on a Saturday & it was consistently busy, definitely a popular spot. We started with coffee & they have an impressive range of blends. We ordered a few dishes to share & drinks from the specials list, the honey trap & the green bomb, both delicious.
The gnocchi dish was a standout, beetroot, tomato, chervil & parmesan gnocchi served with Meredith goats curd, broccolini, heirloom beetroot and almond kale pesto. Such a vibrant & creative dish with beautiful flavours & presentation.
My friend had the middle eastern scramble which was served with a tasty garlic sumac yoghurt & chilli oil, another interesting dish that he thoroughly enjoyed.
We finished with the pistachio & olive oil cake. Served with vanilla braised rhubarb, burnt orange gel, pistachio granola & a spiced orange labneh, this was one of the most unique and incredible sweet dishes I’ve tried. The presentation was stunning and the flavour was divine. I’ll be heading back to have this dish again, it was an absolute winner.
The team at Dish & Spoon were so warm & welcoming, owners Frank & Elliane made us feel at home & it was lovely chatting with them both about the cafe & the various dishes. Thanks so much for having us & I look forward to coming back for that spectacular dessert dish.
Located in the back streets on Cambers, My visit to Dish & Spoon absolutely lived up to my expectation. From the warm welcome on arrival, we were seated in the lovely, sunny courtyard! Service was fast and friendly despite how business it was. The food was delicious. Every mouthful was wonderful. Highly recommend.

We were lucky enough to be invited to come here. The cafe is lovely with a spacious backyard. The staff was very attentive and energetic.
We ordered 2 smoothies, Sunrise and Spring, they were very light and refreshing which is very good for a hot day.
Then we had 3 dishes, one sweet and 2 savoury
- Pistachio & Olive Oil Cake (very rich in pistachio flavour comes with orange and rhubarb on top)
- Dish & Spoon Bomba (Thick cut bacon, potato hash and poached eggs)
- Poke Bowl (raw salmon, avocado, rice noodle, edamame and some veggies)
Our favourite is the Dish& Spoon Bomba, the combination is perfect! We recommend you to try it.
Love this local gem! I’ve been a few times & they always deliver. Especially love their veg & vegan options - the tofu popcorn is THE BEST!!
We were invited to Dish and Spoon yesterday and I was pretty floored by their innovative brunch menu. This suburban cafe is doing intriguing breakfast dishes that I have never seen before. Not to mention the staff were unbelievably lovely (and it wasn’t just because we’d been invited because being a public holiday, they were so busy I’m quite confident they didn’t even know).
I order the smashed avocado but this wasn’t exactly your bog standard version. It came with green apple, walnut and textures of beetroot all atop olive bread. I’m not a real olive fan but I loved this concept of apple and walnut with the avo. So much more exciting than your average feta and chilli combo. The kaffir lime cured salmon on the side exploded this to the next level.
Hubby got the middle eastern scramble which was a unique twist on what most cafes serve as chilli scramble. What was quite different about this was the walnut buttered Turkish bread. Move over peanut butter the walnut spread is here. Free range eggs to boot which I always love to see.
Our final dish was perhaps the most interesting of all. Pistachio and olive oil cake. In place of traditionally sweet brunchfare like the humble hotcake or waffle comes this stunningly presented little cake. Quite frankly we were blown away by the beauty of the plating. It looked like art and the flavours and textures were akin to what you would experience during dessert at a fine dining restaurant. We were certainly very impressed and would thoroughly recommend to anyone but especially those who consider themselves foodies
Absolutely love coming here. The food is absolutely yummy and colourful and the atomsphere is always vibrant. The staff are extremely welcoming. Thank you
Had a quick lunch here with 3 friends. Friendly service great food amazing coffee. Finally a cafe with a different creative menu with out being pretentious. They happily catered to my many allergies. Will definitely be back soon.
Creative menu with exceptional service, they asked about our allergies and made sure we were taken care of. I had the avo on toast with apple and breaded haluomi, corn fritters were dish but love their scrambled eggs in particular.
It was so refreshing to see an exciting menu that goes far beyond your classic avo smash and chilli scramble. With so many flavours, combinations and of course beautiful presentations, there is something for everyone at dish and spoon and you will not be disappointed! We loved the middle eastern scramble and smashed avo with Apple (don’t diss it until you try it)- their sides of salmon, pop corn tofu and halloumi are all phenomenal too! They also have two weekly rotating specials- the raspberry tapioca panacotta was certainly different and full of different flavours and textures. We love their outside (dog friendly and heated) court yard and will definitely return soon!
Absolutely loved this place!! Everything about it was so different and unique. The original flavours and creative flair they incorporated into every dish continued to wow us. The combination of flavours all worked so well together to create perfectly balanced dishes that surprised us. The staff were so friendly and the courtyard was perfect for a fresh environment with the warm heaters.
We attended here on Sunday the 9th of September for lunch and had a great time.
We had the fritters, pork salad and the GF pistachio cake. Both the meals and service was great. I would defiantly love to come back and visit this café – the menu had many options and creative dishes along with reasonable prices.
Thank you for having us.
Perfect balance of professional and friendly. Food presentation is excellent. Lovely flavour combinations and great quality ingredients. Unusual for a neighbourhood café. Great soy chai latte and coffee, of course. Clean, tidy environment with attention to detail. Hands-on owners who clearly care.
Great meal for a Sunday brunch ! One of the Best service Bunch restaurant, plus the food are great!
One must try has to be the mussels fish dish! It’s amazing!!!
Really good coffee, brunch and excellent service. I had the Middle Eastern Scramble which was delicious - I wish I had more Turkish bread though! The staff were really lovely and would definitely head back for brunch again.
Delightful place for coffee or a meal Friendly helpful staff Healthy delcious food and beverages Many savoury and sweet as well as sugar free treats Add it to your favourite spots Jen
Did you ever had breakfast that you'd be excited before even you had your first bite??? Imagine that and you'll be celibating for the next dish you order. PIŃA colada on French toast. Zucchini & Buckwheat fritters, it's like a melody that sings in your mouth. Single origin from Papua new Guinea in flat white and how you finish a great breakfast on a silly rainy winter day.
Slightly long wait, but the service is very good. They are attentive and friendly. The food is nice and the ingredients combinations are special. Worth trying for something different.
Such an inventive menu. Usually breakfast menus have the 'tried and true' items. I love Dish and Spoon because they have seasonal menus that always include very thoughtful additions. Coffee is great as well. Have been several times and will be back again.
Visited D&S for lunch today. Friendly and quick service. Food was good and tasty. Was well looked after. Highly recommended. Will come back.
Staff were so polite and friendly. We had a wonderfull brunch here where every meal was enjoyed by adults and kids alike. It is busy though so make sure you book or be prepared for a wait on the weekend.
despite the freezing cold weather we had a gorgeous brunch with staff who were lovely and completely delicious food. i ordered the chicken burger, middle eastern scramble and mille fuille french toast. each dish was so full of flavor and really unique compared to all the classic brunch foods. i'm really looking forward to going back and trying more!
dish and spoon was such a welcoming cafe and super friendly 🥄 shout out to all the amazing staff! on another note i had the green apple smashed avo on gluten free bread , only note i would make on the bread is that it was small..but tasted awesome!! 🍞🍏🥑🥚 but wow the flavour combo was amazing!!! absolutely loved this dish 🙌🏼😍 coffee was amazing too! i would love to come back and try more
It is one of my favourite cafes!Always love their coffee, especially the dark city blend. Today I tried the breakfast board, and really love the pink strawberry foam on top, as well as the smashed avocado with apples. My hubby ordered the fried chicken burger, and he loved the idea of adding wasabi in the sauce. By the way staff there are very nice and friendly!
Best service! The staff here are friendly and caring, they would always help me with the doors when I come here with my baby in her pram. Any dish that you order would be delicious and they have the best best best hot chocolates.
They are super busy but the service is attentive and welcoming. There is a great vibe, a fantastic menu and specials for which you know up front the cost. Love the transparency. Ordered a strong cap with Dish & Spoon Bomba. Coffee was nice and creamy, thankfully avoiding the citrusy flavour of over roasted beans. Breakfast was spicy but not hot, well plated, would have done with a slice of sourdough and would have been perfect. Great job, worth driving to Dish & Spoon for a great breakfast in a friendly environment!
Visited a couple of Sundays ago on a very wet and miserable day. This cafe was buzzing at about 10.30am!
Staff were very lovely as a lot of tables were taken/reserved (yes they take bookings!) but we were seated on the bench and were happy to stay there but staff did everything they could to make room for us.
Drinks, almond hot chocolate with great as was the latte.
For food we got the middle eastern scramble and the breakfast board. The variety of the breakfast board was great but possibly one more small food element would have topped it off.
The middle eastern scramble had a unique flavour to it and a lot of egg so probably another bit of Turkish break would have been a bonus.
The service and staff here are fantastic and adds a big value to the overall experience. A new menu was being introduced last weekend so would definitely love to go back and see what’s on offer.
Great cafe....
The staff are extremely polite, the food is exceptional and the atmosphere is great.
The chef was running a few extras on the menu which included a Rossini pasta with belly pork in it, two people on my table had it and we agreed we would both travel there again to eat it!!! 10 our of 10, I asked the waiter to compliment the chef on our behalf...
We had the breakfast board and the middle eastern scrambled eggs. Everything was very good. Great service and great food. Would definitely recommend
Delicious brunch yet again, Middle Eastern scrambled egg & steak sandwich & perfect chips, always super healthy and such friendly staff, also amazing coffee 👍

Risotto Hash= One of the best brunch dishes I’ve ever had! I love my meat but this didn’t need the addition of bacon! The mix mushroom and the harrisa sauce were just the perfect accompaniments! We also tried the French toast (great tropical flavours) and the fried chicken burger which were both nice but nothing was as good as the hash!
The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is cosy. I suggest you make a reservation before going as they are quite busy!
Dish and Spoon is a cute, quaint little cafe on Highfield Road. Inside it is rustic and has very nice decor, which matches the quality of their food. They have reliably good food, the vegan breakfast board being my favourite. On the vegan breakfast board is a delightful variety of foods as well as D&S's specialty, popcorn tofu. Popcorn tofu is crispy, salty tofu with some paprika (I believe?) which is a beautiful addition to any meal. Like many Camberwell cafes, they have quite nice iced lattes and cold brews, though I would appreciate my generous servings of the java.
The staff are also always friendly and polite, and happy to have a chat, as well as the cafe being fairly easy to navigate with an elderly friend, no raised surface upon entry, for walkers, and room nearby your table to place a walker. Can get a little bit noisy in there sometimes, though I have not eaten in the courtyard, thus cannot speak for that.
Overall a nice place for a quaint local bite to eat, with great food.
Tried the Middle Eastern breakfast dish and it was delightful! The staff here are really special- I called ahead to ask if their kitchen was closed (late afternoon) and they said yes, but they could still whip me up what I was after. I’ve found a beautiful jewel in Camberwell and I intend on returning, soon!
Fantastic food, excellent coffee, top notch service and an interesting menu. Prices were fair and dining space was lively. The tables are a tad on the small size, but this was really the only thing I could pick on.
Amazing service, great food and coffee. The vegan options are great, as well as the rest of the menu. Friendly staff and owners and a buzzing busy atmosphere! Can’t wait to come back!! :)
Been coming to Dish and Spoon for a couple years now. The cafe always has a great atmosphere and we are continuously greeted by very friendly staff. The dish and spoon benny is definitely a favourite of mine, and the coffee is exceptional. Great cafe in a quiet, leafy part of Camberwell.
Cosy and friendly cafe for a relaxed brunch. Had the risotto hash which was unique in texture and tasty. The pulled pork of the D&S benny was bit too salty otherwise good.
Amazing brunch dishes! Just what we needed after a long morning at the camberwell market.
All of our dishes were delicious! Staff were so friendly and attentive, our waiter was great with his customer service!
Atmosphere was comfortable, they also have a backyard area too for those who want to bring their furry friends along.
Please come to the West of Melbourne to fulfil our belly’s 😇
Take your lover, friends and family here for tasty brunch cuisines!
Great food, lovely coffee. Their take on the Bomba hash browns is delish though a bit of salad would help to cut the richness a bit. Delish food and a wonderful experience.
Coffee from here was quite good and I really loved the atmosphere of this place. Will definitely be back to try some dishes soon ! And those cakes looked so good as well
- came back to try some of the dishes including the vegan breakfast which I would definitely recommend
Great little spot hidden away from the usual Camberwell spots. We popped in for a late lunch/brunch on a sunny Saturday. It was warm and sunny out front and the two spots there were in use. Inside was pretty full also so we tried a spot in the back courtyard. Decor and ambiance is lovely throughout. The back courtyard while well covered for Melbourne’s notorious weather blocked all the warm sun so it was a little chilly and was quite noisy. Service is super friendly and prompt. The menu reads so well I had trouble deciding! Eventually we settled on the lemonade, sparkling Capi, the corn and buckwheat fritters (with a sneaky bit of sausage on the side) and the risotto hash (of course with bacon). While it was full and busy when we arrived most around us had eaten, so we did expect a the food and drinks to come out a bit faster than it did. Worth the wait though - everything was so delicious and while smaller in portion size for the price as many have mentioned, it was still enough without feeling super full as one often does after bunching. We’d happily order both again and again. There’s a lovely selection of sweet treats in the cabinet - so we hit the road with a takeaway coffee and a delicious looking red velvet vo vo type cupcake something or other. Coffee was spot on. I’d love to see a bit more out front seating - best vantage point out there. 4 stars for the amazing food, lovely service, cute decor and ambiance, easy parking in the less hectic part of Camberwell and great coffee. A little faster food and drink service and more sunny spots to sit would score a full 5 stars. We’ll be back to work our way through the menu items!!!
It was such a rainy day in the morning in Melbourne. I found this gorgeous little cafe with homey vibes kinda feeling to it.
I ordered dish & spoon benny- taste amazing! quite a small portion but hey i choose quality-over—quantity-kinda-person😌. Risotto hash was also good too!Chai latte and coffe was REALLY delish!
So far, great place, friendly staff & nice ambience, will come back for sure!
#BHAsFoodDiary
We enjoyed our visit to Dish & Spoon. The space is very relaxing and the service was lovely. The benny was delicious, and the risotta hash was incredibly creative and well done (the risotta hash itself). The only thing is it was quite small and not very filling for the price.
I drove all the way from Chelsea to Camberwell for my Easter Monday brunch and I was not disappointed at all. I loved the foods and coffee we had but what impressed me the most was the service. It was nice, friendly and genuine. We did not experience any atmosphere inside because we were seated outside. ( it was just too busy and jam packed) I was asked by local friends that “did you enjoy?” Yes! I replied. Would you come back? Definitely!
Nothing like brunching in a Monday and Easter Monday seemed like as good a day as any to drop into Dish & Spoon to see whether Camberwell’s highest rated brunch spot was worthy of that title.
It’s a good thing we came in just before 10 as the place was already full and a number of tables reserved. We were fortunate to grab the last indoor table for two with others being sent down to the back courtyard to sit in the sun, not a bad result for them either. Despite the crowds waiting staff didn’t seem frazzled and the menu looked good.
Despite not having lactose free milk KD was able to manage her super strong long black with almond milk on the side and I continued on my weekend of chocolate consumption with a Mörk hot chocolate. For me ordering was simple I went the breakfast board which came with a mini açai smoothie, granola bowl and apple avocado and a poached egg on toast. KD has a three way dilemma between risotto fritters, green with envy from the specials menu or the piklets from the special... but after waiting staff consultation went with the Green with Envy dish.
Green with envy was a delightfully presented dish made up with minted goats cheese croquettes, smashed peas a poached egg and other delights. KD raved about the flavour of her dish and really loved the citrus lift from the lime, avocado mousse
I loved the apple, mint, avocado combination in my dish. The avocado wasn’t totally smashed and still had a chunky texture and the addition of apple gave it a light fresh taste and is certainly now my preferred way of having my smash. Egg was well poached but I would expect no less. Granola had a ton of fruit and chia/ coconut yogurt was a good addition. My smoothie was a tiny tiny thimble full and I wanted more but appreciate it is part of a tasting board... still I wanted more :)
The service was faultless and staff circled around to check how we were enjoying our meals. In the way out I noticed a lovely selection of dough boy doughnuts and other sweet treats which would be perfect for those in between meal coffee visits or just because!
Will have to explore more of their menu in future visits.
went here with my family and we had the zucchini fritters, beef brisket sandwich and dish and spoon bennys. was yummo!! the waiter was really nice- my aunty left her hat here and he chased after us. good job alex!
Plenty of vegan options.
gorgeous painted murals on the outside.
I had a golden mylk latte, a raw vegan caramel slice and the vegan breakfast - so much flavour from the apple avocado mash to the pickled cauliflower and most of all the spicy crisp tofu, yum!
The girls had coco pops and a fairy pancake.
Hubby had the steak sandwich special - everyone enjoyed their dishes.
We will return.
One of my most unforgettable brunch experiences thus far! This cafe definitely lives up to its reputation as being one of the highly sought after brunch places in the Eastern suburbs!
I cannot boast enough about how fantastic their service was during my visit on a busy public holiday. (Edit* I’ve returned here for a second visit and the waiters still went above and beyond for us 😭🙏🏼) Staff here were extremely jovial, they were very informative about wait times and weren’t shy to ask us about our day which even after what felt like a 40 minute wait for our food, was compensated by their contagious happy go lucky attitudes.
The house blend was flawless. As was the almond milk that was paired with the coffee. It was served at the most optimum temperature which resulted in a smooth, even thickness through and through. I only just recently started drinking almond milk and most of the time I’m left with a chalky or watered down taste so when I took my first sip, I instantly thought I was mistaken and doubted it was almond milk to begin with!
They serve a creative and extensive menu, and even offer several specials which I believe change seasonally. We opted for Zucchini and Buckwheat Fritters and the Poke Bowl. Both dishes were all about simple flavours which were executed wonderfully. The zucchini Fritters were dense which I liked and the buckwheat which was used to make them kept them becoming a soggy mess.
There is no surprise that Dish and Spoon continue to bring in crowds from all over Melbourne and on weekends I would even expect a wait but with a front, indoor and outdoor space I would highly recommend this place to all crowds of family, friends and couples.
This cafe is a little hidden away, although definitely worth the visit. Staff gave us choice of where to sit and were really good with making sure we were being looked after. There was a long wait on the food although we were given warning so I do not consider this a fault of the cafe. The actual food was lovely tasting and came in decent portion sizes. I would return here to try other items on the menu!
Went there for breakfast midweek, they were not overly busy but our food was quite slow to come out. Having said that , it was delicious and the portion was generous. overall nice ambience and friendly staff. Will definitely go back again.
Cute interior!! Also great coffee and menu. Loved the potato hash. Staff were super friendly! Overall a gem tucked away in the leafy streets of Camberwell. Would recommend
This little gem is hidden deeply in the in the inner streets of Camberwell. Easily identifiable by your typical bunch go-ers flaunting their puppers and woofers🐶
Coming in on a Saturday Arvo, you can expect the shop to be jam packed like tin of sardines. Without a booking expect to be seated at a shared communal table, where nearby strangers will be practically eating your dish with their devourous stares.
But onto the food!
Starting with an elegant presented cold drip, special blended black and the go-to flat white; all were produced at a very high quality and tasted wonderful as you would expect.
The first dish was my go-to eggs benedict. Presentation was outstanding as you can see from the photo. I guess what separates this one from other cafes is the fact that they include jalapenos; to give the dish a bit of a punch, which I believe did the job. Highly recommend this one for all the fellas that don't want to be seen eating petal filled masculinity-reducing dishes.
The second dish was the scramble eggs and pork belly on toast. The relish and quality of the cooked pork belly is stand out here. All components fused beautifully together and that's all I have to say.
Highly recommended this place if you want a no frills high quality brunch meal.
What a great place! Hidden within the suburb this cafe is a gem! Plenty of tables back in the courtyard so do not be fooled by the small shop front. Very interesting menu and all done extremely well. I had the risotto hash which was sooooo good and I don’t even like risotto! Will definitely come back again.
We highly recommend Dish & Spoon if you’re looking for the perfect combination of vibe, service and great food in the Camberwell area. Dish & Spoon is a vibrant cafe in the quieter part of Camberwell (122 Highfield Road), east of the busy Camberwell junction district. The cafe is unassuming from the outside and it is only when you venture inside will you discover how popular Dish & Spoon really is for locals. You can also see how good the service is when a cafe is very busy and, yet, the various waiters who served us were all super friendly.
Truly deserving of its rating. The service at dish and spoon was friendly, inviting and staff were very helpful with any inquiries we had on the menu. I had the Poke Bowl and my partner the Benedict - both abundant with flavour and great presentation. My only problem would be the amount of fish on my poke - given the price I anticipated a little more than I got (probably about a 1/4 cup); this however was so minor given the incredible flavour and freshness of it. On my go-to list permanently!
4.5/5
This is a chic and popular brunch spot in the Eastern suburb of Camberwell – boasting not only a beautifully designed interior, but also a lovely outdoor section in the back covered with a patio. Dish and Spoon also features a seasonally changing menu with Middle Eastern twists on certain classics – which is always a favourite of mine to try! The cold drip coffee was delicious (my first time trying and I loved the roasted, slightly sweet after taste) and the meal itself was hearty, refined, making it a very enjoyable brunch experience for me.

Easy perfect score.
Location and ambiance- located in a side street of Camberwell, Dish & Spoon is an easy drive and totally worth the effort. The cafe is extremely beautiful and is complimented by a stunning courtyard.
Service- extraordinary. Each staff member is well trained and really knows how to make you feel welcomed. This totally compensated for the wait time of the food.
Food and drinks order
Pina colada french toast- one of a kind. I am never generally too fond of french toasts but this one at Dish & Spoon is delicious. Really well cooked, soft and very tasty.
Breakfast board- at first, it didn’t look like a lot of food, but I was wrong. The bowl with muesli and fruits was yumm! It was served with a perfectly well cooked poached egg on toast and smashed avo. The best thing was the acai smoothie! Too cute and quite nice!
Coffee- Costa Rica and Dark City blend. As a strong coffee lover I really enjoyed the Dark City blend. The Costa Rica blend was pretty great too and definitely something I’d try again.
Overall, if you haven’t been to Dish & Spoon, you are missing out.
