Review Legacy - Camberwell

Very good coffee here always has a line outside over the weekend very popular among locals! Lovely staff made the experience very pleasant! Good quality food and generous portion! The only thing is that the texture of pancake was quite dense and thick at times difficult to chew..

Cute little cafe with the most unique decor! Very generous portions of food were served up, the potato rosti was especially good, and the salmon from the sushi bowl was really fresh. Staff were very friendly and nice. Bonus points as there were owners with their cute puppies just outside! šŸ“· Big Brekkie, Sushi Bowl

Great Cafe just down the road from the library. Usually easy to get a park on Camberwell Road on weekends. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious with good gluten free options. Definitely one of the best in the Camberwell Junction area

This oldie but still goodie is one of my go-to brunch spot in Camberwell. I love their acaii bowl and waffle benedict. So delicious and fresh šŸ§‡Waffles Benedict šŸØAcaii bowl šŸŒ®Popcorn tacos šŸ„—Sushi bowl

The another best cafe to have breakfast or brunch. Loved my jungle juice and mushroom french toast...

Cute place and atmosphere. Unfortunately my dish was a miss. I had the soba and unfortunately the dressing was too acidic. Everything was beautiful to eat just ruined by the acidic dressing. If maybe accompanied with Japanese mayo and the dressing the creaminess might save it or perhaps a sweet Dashi broth sauce or dressing would be better. My friend had the bao. I had a bite and it was delicious. I would come back next time to try the sushi bowl instead.

Food was delicious, fantastic ambiance the staff were really friendly and helpful!

Great coffee, easily one of the best in the area. Service was fast and responsive clearing away plates as they were done and bring out our food when it was ready. Prices are on par with the area for brunch cafes and the food is up there. I had the chilli eggs and my partner had the hotcakes. Neither were 10/10 but the portions were large, both came hot and they tasted great. The decor and ambience is also great, styling is very modern and comparable to other cafes. The one thing I really like was that even when full the place wasn't so loud that we couldn't have a conversation. 4/5 Update Went back recently for breakfast on a public holiday. We were pretty disappointed with the food this time around. Coffee(Dimattina beans) and service was still good. I found my green bowl particularly bad, it's was mixed with a pickled mushroom which one paper sounds good as I love pickles but the pickles themselves were unbalanced and their flavour was mixed in and overpowered every bite so I was unable to finish my meal. 3/5

A great cafe which has a very nice and cosy space. The service here was really good and I loved the menu.My friend and I had some coffees which were perfect! To eat we had the little somethin' somethin' board which is a great idea for those who are indecisive on what to order. A delish spread of smashed avo, acai, glass of OJ and a mini croissant it looked so cute! We also ordered the charred greens with miso dressing, poached chicken and a poached egg. Such a healthy and filling salad, you will be sure to love this! Thank you for the invite, we had a fab time.

Food is very mediocre, not a lot of flavour, isnā€™t very worth it. Super expensive for what youā€™re getting. This place is a little overhyped.
The coffees are not bad

Amazing coffee and best brunch food in camberwell
Gastrology
Recently enjoyed a takeaway brunch which we enjoyed in the comfort of our own home and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious.

The sushi bowl was a delightfully colourful and flavoursome dish comprising of fresh salmon tataki, avocado, nori, edamame, radish, pickled ginger, sushi rice, shallots and togarashi brought together by a wasabi mayo, soy sauce and a fried egg encasing oozy yolk.

For something healthy and nutrient dense, do not go past the dish of charred greens. Think broccoli, snow peas, sugar snaps, kale, avocado, mushrooms, puffed wild rice, wasabi coconut labneh and togarashi tossed in a miso dressing and poached chicken.

This place in camberwell had a great menu and by looking at what was being served to other guests, definitely a place to come back to and try other options. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and werenā€™t disappointed at all. The only negative and this is very minor, is the noise bounces off the concrete walls and itā€™s hard to have a conversation.

šŸŒæ Legacy is a small and modern shophouse with a few outdoor tables. Came here for a very late brunch but it was still buzzing with excitement. šŸ„œThe superfood smoothies were large and very filling! Peanut butter smoothie was again a winner - I reckon itā€™s hard to beat anything with Reese peanut butter. Dragon fruit was healthier, but tasted less potent compared to the peanut butter smoothie.šŸ£ we were quite spoilt for choice with the menu selection. The fried chicken baos caught my eye but I eventually went for the sushi bowl. Beyond just being visually gorgeous, the cafe was generous with portions. Salmon was fresh and peppered with sesame seeds. There was not much sauce beyond the soy sauce on the rice and kewpie mayo, so it greatly resembled a poke bowl. šŸ„“Legacy creates a healthier version of the English big breakfast. Nothing was too oily which I appreciated. The bacon and crunchy and packed potato rosti were my highlights. I left wishing I added saganaki to the meal, but otherwise was stuffed! Thanks for the invite ♥ļø your team was great and Iā€™ll be back to get the fried chicken baos! *Taste: āļøāļøāļøāļøAmbience: āļøāļøāļøāļøPresentation: āļøāļøāļøāļøāļøPrice: āļøāļøāļøāļøService: āļøāļøāļøāļø

Been here twice and one thing for sure is they have good coffee here ā˜•ļø good cafe to go to if youā€™re looking for a good strong coffee fix.
Service here is okay, I feel that the service could be more friendlier though I have to admit that the service here is fast, so Iā€™m not complaining.
Food here is good. We had the chicken baos and breakfast bruschetta with potato rosti instead of sourdough. The potato rosti was the most delicious rosti I have had and everything about the chicken bao was yummy! The fried chicken was moist on the inside yet crispy on the outside!
My only critic is that the menu selection should either me modified or increase in variation. They have very nice elements cooked but lacking in the dishes itself. For instance with my rosti, I had to pay to swap my sourdough for potato rosti when I feel that their signature is the potato rosti as they do it the best šŸ¤©

Really lovely cafe! The staff were very friendly and helpful! The food was nice and flavoursome. The servicing size was generous! The acai bowl was refreshing and had really nice elements. The avocado was simple and tasty. A perfect go to dish! The hot cakes were a nice dish! Huge servicing size and lots of flavour. The mascarpone was amazing and worked really well on this dish.

Legacy Camberwell is a must visit for anyone in the area! Delicious food, fantastic staff and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting - the cafe definitely lives up to its instagram hype and would return in a heartbeat!

The avocado smash was very good. It came with halloumi and an optional poached egg which really added to the taste and textures of the dish.

The ricotta hotcakes tasted even better than they looked - which is hard to believe! Perfect for a winters (or summers) day, and a must for anyone with a sweet tooth out there.

The fried chicken bao buns were out of this world. The texture of the buns were just right and the dish had the perfect amount of spice and flavour.

First off I want to say that whenever dining out, my partner and I always, always finish our meals...
At this cafe, we barely ate half of our meals.
I had read the hype about this cafe and the photos looked incredible so I was super excited to finally try it. I had seen the mixed reviews and hoped that it was going to live up to the positive expectations. Unfortunately we were hugely disappointed.
We ordered the hotcakes and the sweet potato fritters. We were informed that the hotcakes usually take approx 20min to prepare, which was totally fine by us.
When the food arrived, it looked amazing! Pretty as a picture. It was the flavour and texture that completely let down the dish. The hotcakes were just thick and gluggy and it seemed like they weren't fully cooked through in the centre. The sharp knife wouldn't even cut through them. And the rest of the dish, was just some berries and maple syrup. It was such a heavy sickly dish, that I only ate 1 half of a hotcake and left the rest.
The sweet potato weren't much better. They were very thick and lacked seasoning, and they were drowning in tomato salsa. It was very plain and another dish that was impossible to finish. My partner didn't finish his portion of the dishes either, and he eats everything!
Really disappointed and overpriced for the quality of the food. I wish this place lived up to the Instagram hype, but it really doesn't..
Melbourne Pancakes
I visited legacy on Sunday afternoon for an amazing lunch with some friends. Our waitress was super friendly and greeted us with coffee orders straight away. We decided to sit outside to enjoy what was left of the sun and ordered a variety of dishes - the pancake stack, charred greens, sushi bowl and aƧai bowl!

We all got to try a bit of each otherā€™s dish, and I was so surprised at how amazing they each were! The sushi bowl tasted delicious - one of the best Iā€™ve ever tried! And the aƧai bowl had an amazing dollop of peanut butter perfection on top šŸ˜. But my favourite was certainly the pancakes - cooked perfectly, light and fluffy with the perfect toppings with it!

Canā€™t wait to come back and eat my way through the rest of the menu!

4.5
I visited Legacy for the second time over the weekend and I really enjoyed my experience. We ordered the AƧai Bowl, the Big Stack, the Sushi Bowl and the Charred Greens.
The Sushi Bowl was just perfect. It was fresh, full of flavour and had the right amount of every component. It was definitely one of the best I've eaten. The pancakes were super fluffy and were not overpowered with a bunch of sugar and extras. They were topped with delicious berries & vanilla ice cream, which meant you were able to actually enjoy how well the pancakes were made. I was in awe when I saw that the aƧai had the biggest dollop of peanut butter! I think I speak for everyone when I say ENOUGH SAID about that!!! I didn't get to try the charred greens, but my friend absolutely loved them and highly recommended them for my next visit.

The staff were lovely and were happy to engage in a chat. Thank you Legacy, I'll be back soon!

Legacy is absolutely adored by the locals and the moment you enter the bustling hot spot, you can see why.

We ordered the Big Stack, the AƧai Bowl, the Sushi Bowl and the the Charred Greens. The pancakes were some of my favourites that I've tried yet, they managed to be fluffy without being overly cakey, which I find really off-putting. The aƧai was perfect for a spring day and all the flavours were spot on, really loved the HUGE peanut butter dollop! I order a sushi bowl at most places if it's on their menu so it's no small claim when I say that this is one of the best. The salmon was absolutely mouthwatering and I loved the touch of adding a fried egg. The charred greens tasted so delicious, with the added bonus of being nourishing and light.

The staff were so friendly and able to accomodate to all our needs with a smile.

I also loved the modern dƩcor and the warm, friendly atmosphere that comes with being a local-favourite.

Will definitely be going back again!

I visited Legacy Camberwell with three friends on Sunday and was very impressed with the service, food and all round atmosphere. We had a wonderful lunch outside and were looked after well.
Atmosphere: The cafƩ maximises space superbly, with a long table in the centre of the cafe with smaller ones around the perimeter and outdoor seating. I loved the use of greenery too.
Food: I ate the charred greens with a poached egg. A highlight was the delicious balsamic dressing that brought out the flavours in the vegetables. My friends at the orange and ricotta hot cakes, aƧai bowl and sushi bowl. The sushi bowl featured wonderful pickled ginger and was a very colourful dish šŸ˜Š
Service: the staff attended to our every need and the owner, Costa greeted us too. They accommodated to our desire to sit outside and overall were very friendly.
Would definitely come back here šŸŒŸ

Legacy is bringing quality coffee and healthy fodder to Camberwell. Run by powerhouse trio Julien Moussi, Kristy-Lea Deva and Nicky Campbell, the menu is interesting and the coffee is sublime. The layout is clean and Nordic with lots of natural wood and light. The atmosphere is chilled with music from the 1990s like Moby to bring you back to youthfulness.

Not a lot of vegan glutenfree options but the sautƩed greens and mocha were lovely.
The space was great as was the service.

An absolute delight!

I have seen legacy a lot on Instagram and sometimes Iā€™m worried places that get a lot of insta hype lack in food quality but legacy did not disappoint on food or service!

I arrived and was created by the quality staff, they were all so friendly and made sure I had everything I needed.

I ordered a chai latte with almond milk. I really liked the way this served. It made it different, fun and kept the tea element of the drink.

I also ordered their breakfast bruschetta. It was topped with tomatoes and two poached eggs with a pesto base. I also ordered a side of mushrooms which was an ace portion and their were delicious. The tomatoes had a sprinkle of olive oil on there and some Italian herbs. The two eggs were also poached very well. YOLK PORN EVERYWHEREEEE. The whole dish was well presented and wasnā€™t too heavy or too light. I would definitely recommend ordering some sides with it.

I really enjoyed legacy, great atmosphere, staff and food.

I will be back ā˜ŗļø

I wished my legacy would be filled with acai and sushi bowls like these ones!

I had heard about this place for a long time, not only for its famous and interesting menu but also for the less positive social media and legal aspects that even came recently on the newspaper. Nonetheless, my review, as usual, is based on my own personal experience and I have to say that it was amazing.

I arrived at the venue, located at Camberwell around 1pm and was kindly welcomed by one of the staff members. The ambience was great and it was such a sunny day (even though it was a week day) that I was actually surprised the venue was not packed and I was able to choose where to seat. Because the weather was so good and warm, I decided to opt for an outside seat so that I could also appreciate the sun.
Inside the space is relatively small and there is a main room from the entrance, with the barista station on the left. A main table takes the centre of the room and it is used as a communal table which I think is very nicely thought of and creates a good shared ambience. Some people might not be very found of this idea but I think it is a very good use of the space and certainly is nicely and inviting due to the plants used. Further to the back the space again isnā€™t massive but more private tables, ideal for couples or small friends catch ups.

I mentioned the staff my dietary requirements and asked their opinion about what was best from the menu and after taking a look at it, this what I had (and must say straight away that was VERY happy with my choices in all aspects of serving size and quality of food):
Ā
- Acai Bowl - Okay, I actually had heard some bad reviews from fellow food bloggers about this bowl but OBVIOUSLY that I had to try it, as a smoothie and acai lover. Personally, I have to say that this was FANTASTIC. The bowl, in terms of diameter is not massive but do not get fooled because it is deep! Portion was way more than great and very welcomed and the acai was pleasantly and impeccably blended with banana and mangoes, not watery and with a creamy semi-thick consistency and the finest flavour. Of course that after having a spoonful, I knew straight away that the acai used was Purple Foods as its taste is so characteristic and flawless, and undoubtedly one of my favourite brands of acai. It came topped with a huge and so iconic spoonful of coconut yogurt and just next to it an exact replication with smooth peanut butter. These were not only delightful in terms of size but the quality is definitely of point too and even though I am team crunchy peanut butter this was just a bliss and a VERY VERY VERY good serving. The same with the coyo - I am usually very picky and not a huge fan of most coconut yogurts but this was on point too. With a generous serving of big coconut flakes, freshly cut strawberries sprinkles with some chia seeds along with a great portion of oats (originally honey butter oats) I loved every single spoon. It was actually very remarkable of them to actually notice the butter on oats and saying that that could just be changed for simple oats.

- Sushi Bowl - A very unexpected surprise with this one indeed. Seriously, I was not expecting this to SO good. Again, in every single aspect. And to be fair, I love sushi and I love everything about sushi but regardless of that I have to say that the whole bowl is very beautifully designed and unquestionably nourishing in every sense of the word. It comes served in a large bowl and it is more filling that it looks, definitely. Topped with an amazing salmon tataki portion - I was actually SO impressed with this, really, because cafes usually cut short of expensive ingredients like salmon and most protein sources, but not here, not at all! - with edamame beans that I just adore, watermelon radish, A MASSIVE and addictive pickled ginger (gosh, I love that so much to the point that I actually buy bags of it!), all of these cover a great portion of sushi rice that you will try and cry for more. Possibly one of the best sushi bowls I have had in my life. The togarashi was just impressive in terms of quantity (sometimes venues only sprinkle it) and the wasabi mayo was SO GOOD. Instead of a fried egg and soy sauce, I asked for two poached eggs and I was very happy with the whole meal. I would definitely recommend it and I would DEFINITELY ask for it again.

- Jungle Juice - I asked for this smoothie so that I could also try their matcha although the dragon fruit smoothie and the peanut butter based one, all sounded very tempting. This one came and a result of blended matcha, banana spinach and soy milk (and I kindly asked the avocado to be removed so that it would not be too filling and although I am a big eater I was already having two other meals). The taste was good but I would say that it lacked in consistency a little (maybe because of the lack of avocado, which is fair enough) and the matcha was quite overpowering and I would not have personally used that much (maybe with the avocado it would have been more smooth). It came topped with large coconut flakes and some fresh mint leaves and on the top of the jar a circular line of honey sticking some more coconut sprinkles, was just beautiful. The look was impressive and I am also very happy with the shots that I took.

Overall, I think this place was certainly a win. Regardless of other peopleā€™s experiences and the cafe ethos and marketing strategies, my opinion is not biased and in my very own honesty I must say that my own was extremely positive. I felt the overall service was good, the staff members were considerate and the meals are of good portion and quality. I was happy with my experience and I would love to go back again and enjoy some of their other meals.

Good portion size. Food is great and staff are awesome.Ā
Juice is nice and fresh. Love the homey decor and pastry selections! Love it.

Had the chorizo, avocado, poached eggs and hash. The portion was really small. The taste was average coupled with the price it's really not worth it.

I was still hungry after, so got some pancakes to share. The pancakes was a bit different to conventional pancakes where it's fluffy. It's not bad, I liked it and the portion was fair for that.

Overall, I think the place has been hyped up a lot through advertising on social media. Pretty average brunch place with high prices (considering portions and quality compared to most brunch places in Melbourne). However, the service and staff is really good!

We live nearby so came here quite often but mainly for the coffee since its soo good!

The dishes were nice, i ordered hotcakes and I liked it. Its soft and not too sweet. Service is always friendly.

We had visited Legacy for brunch not long ago and hereā€™s what we had!

Sweet potato fritters - served with goat cheese, Kaiser bacon and tomato chutney! Though simple looking, the flavors worked pretty well with the savoriness of the bacon and goat cheese complementing the sourness and tanginess of the tomato chutney! With the addition of the sweet fritters, all the flavors came together!

The big stack - hot cakes with orange ricotta, vanilla bean mascarpone, mixed berries and maple syrup! This was my fave dish of the day for several reasons! Firstly, the thickness, softness, fluffiness and moistness of the hot cakes! Secondly, the simpleness and yumminess of this! Lastly, every bite kept me going back for more! They pretty much nailed every element on the dish!

Buttermilk fried chicken bao - served with pickled cabbage, mustard and sriracha mayo! The fried chicken was pretty crispy and juicy inside and the bao was soft and fluffy! It was a good combination of soft and heavy being mixed into one!

Legacy had impressed us with their yummy dishes and we would definitely go back again!

Me and 3 friends visited Legacy this morning for breakfast like most melbournians do on a Sunday. Left feeling a little confused about the hype over this place? Whoever's running their Instagram is driving their business because the food wasn't anything special. I ordered eggs Benedict. It had a whole 2 peices of chorizo, 4 tiny slivers of avocado and it had no sriracha or hollandaise... when we mentioned the absense of sauce to the staff as we were paying they refused to believe us. The girl serving us seemed just as confused as we were about "the big breakfast" not having bacon. Not good value at all. They wouldn't let us split bill between 2 couples. This is a major pet peeve of mine. If it's not busy I don't see the problem. Big MEH from us.

Legacy is such a warm and happy cafe due to the friendly staff, but also because there are always dogs outside to pat šŸ˜šŸ¶ It is definitely a popular place when the weekend hits but their table wait service is so efficient and easy if they are packed!!
When I went I had the ā€˜little somethinā€™ somethinā€™, a combination of juice, smashed avo & egg on toast, and a fresh aƧai bowl with optional croissant. šŸ‘ŒšŸ½ If you are like me and super indecisive when choosing what you want to eat for brunch, this is the perfect dish giving you a little taste of everything!
I hope to be back soon to explore more of the menu! ā¤ļø
#eatdrinkmelbs

Legacy is one of those destinations that siply lives up to its hype in every way! šŸ™šŸ» I visited here for a second time with a friend and was super impressed by how attentive, helpful and lovely all the staff members were!

We ordered a plethora of different drinks: a chai latte, the wellness tea and the Royal Reece superfood smoothie! Each one was presented beautifully and tasted much the same! To eat, my friend ordered the sushi bowl (which she loved) whilst I satisfied my PB/J craving (thanks Legacy!) and ordered the avo smash with mushrooms! The portion size was so decent, I ended up offering a slice to my friend! This is ALWAYS a good thing, if you ask me! šŸ˜‰

We left more than satisfied with the food, the environment and ambience here! If you're based in Camberwell, you simply can't go past this spot. It's nothing short of a winner!

Loved my visit today at Legacy! What an awesome way to end a hectic day at work- with some delish Hotcakes with mixed berries and maple syrup! šŸ˜‹ I love hotcakes and these really hit that Friyay spot! Just enough crispy to keep you wanting another fork-full.. šŸ¤— the acidity of from the berries also helped with this! Overpriced for average food. Went on the weekend and got eggs Benny and a coffee and paid $31. It wasnā€™t even that tasty. Also, toilet is inside apartment building next door and was absolutely filthy. Wonā€™t be coming back here.

3.5/5

We had the chill scrambled which was nice, not fantastic just a nice mid range chili scramble that didnā€™t leave me wanting to come back but had me leaving satisfied. Also had the sweet potato fritters which had really good flavors but were very hard and dense and overall a bit underwhelming!

Coffee was fine.... Service was friendly and food/drink came in a good time. I think this joint is ok, worth a visit but probably wouldnā€™t rush back.

This place is usually packed with people and no matter the time of day the coffee queue is always long. Serves good coffee and you will definitely be back for seconds.

Bit expensive for what it is.Ā

Went for a takeaway coffee & something from the cabinet, was over $10Ā

What should have been a 3 minute wait ended up being closer to 10 as the girl on coffee decided to have a conversation with someone that was sitting down. Really poor service, if you're going to leave the coffee machine and talk to your friend wait until the dockets are cleared or get someone to take over on the machine.
Two Hungry Diners
We finally got a chance to check this cafe out which is not too far away from where we live but maybe a bit out of reach if you are using public transport. The cafe was not too busy when we arrived just a little past lunchtime, the staff was friendly and very accommodating.

The menu looks very decent and nothing is too stand out for us but we finally settled with `Little somethin', something (mini acai granola, mini smashed avo w/ egg and OJ), and the Sriracha & Chorizo Eggs Benny along with the smoothie. The portion of the Chorizo Benny was TINY and for $19.50 we personally thought this massively overpriced, considering the taste was ordinary. The acai granola was tasty though but again a bit overpriced in our opinion as the size is quite small.

We kinda agree with other reviewers here, our expectations were maybe too high but it was a bit underwhelming experience. On the positive note: coffee was good, the smoothie was delicious as well, and we like the acai granola a lot.

Our tip: if super hungry then don't bother with the Chorizo Egg Benny.

Awesome place with really lovely staff! Great menu with lots of colour and the service was spot on! Highly recommend this brunch spot on the weekend!
Sense Of Food
šŸ“: Positioned on the ground floor of an upmarket apartment complex, Legacy is bathed in warm red brickā€”on the floor, in the furniture and even as a feature wall.

Itā€™s a nice chill out place for brunch, and always packed, so probably a cue saying how awesome they are.

ā¤ļø: The menu here is essentially a feast of two different halves. One being the epic selection of healthy dishes, and the other gone wildly tasty and decadent.

But what they all have in common is that theyā€™re all deliciously amazing and worthy to be the most Instagrammable dishes of the year.

Well, can I say what I ordered is a mix? Their new addition to the menu, acai bowl (with a dollop of PB, of course) and the Big Breakkie, since I couldnā€™t choose on one single thing.

But to be honest, I donā€™t know whether I had my expectations too high or what, but the taste did not live up to my expectations. They were okay, but I can think of a million other places here in Melbourne with much better food.
Imogen
I ordered latte , the waitress give me the take away cup without askingļ¼also the restaurant is so noisy. its nearby the Camberwell library, so I always buy a coffee there before I go to library, the coffee tastes almost different everyday, too hot or even not hot enough, they always change barista.

Kinda meh and overpriced for me šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

FOOD: I ordered the Sriracha & Chorizo Eggs Benny and I didnā€™t want to underestimate the size bcs from photos it looked small but when it came... it WAS TINY. And this isnā€™t me being ā€˜hungryā€™ for $19.50 it was pretty tiny. The sriracha hollandaise was lacking abit of flavour, the hash didnā€™t have any kimchi flavour but the chorizo was great! But they only gave 4 slices which... for $19.50 I was appalled. I also ordered extra haloumi as every single person seemed to do so but $4 for 3 HARD pieces just wasnā€™t what I would do again.

SERVICE: Service was okay I guess. Theyā€™re cool with their locals but it was slow, they disappeared at times and it was pretty messy.

Overall, the photos tempted me and I was super excited to try it and I wouldnā€™t say it was a bad experience, it was just pretty underwhelming and for $23.50, there are definitely better options.

We visited for lunch, itā€™s a busy cafe so expect that you may not get a table straight away. But we got lucky and sat at the communal table. The staff are very friendly and offered coffee upon arrival and then took out orders soon after. I got the Greens bowl and my partner got the big breakfast. I felt the Greens bowl wasnā€™t really want my thing, wanted to try something healthier but I really did not like the sauce it came with. Not that itā€™s not something others wouldnā€™t like, but just not my thing. Iā€™d go back and try something else next time :)

Tiny small servings- very big prices. This place hope to trade on their decor rather than great food. Donā€™t bother going here. They donā€™t even have a toilet!!

A minty, fetta taste which kept this dish ultra interesting. If youā€™re an avocado lover thereā€™s no question that this is the best one Iā€™ve tried....and Iā€™ve tried lots. Definitely stop by and treat yourself to this stunning dish and you can thank me later šŸ˜‹šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

My friends and I recently checked out this cafe that Iā€™ve been meaning to try for a while now. I ordered the potato rosti with poached eggs & a strong coffee. When the meal arrived I was surprised just how small the serving was !! The avocado pieces were super small , the size of 2x 10 cent pieces and only a small handful of chorizo. Honestly, Iā€™ve never seen such a small serving before . As it was over the Easter break , there was an extra 15% surcharge (which I understand is normal). All up just over $27 and wasnā€™t impressed at all . My friend on the other hand had the green folded omelette which was double the portion & priced less - go figure?

I can see how this cafe is very popular as thereā€™s no other competition in the immediate vicinity, however I live near several cafes with beautifully presented, ā€œinsta worthyā€ breakfasts , for the same price with better quality & much more generous servings . This , along with an overall dark interior (no light streams in), I canā€™t see myself ever coming back.

Itā€™s such a pitty as the portion sizes are so inconsistent, for the quality, price & value ratio.

On a positive our waiter was fantastic & the coffee was good.

Food was filling but wasnā€™t amazing. If you got no taste buds order the sushi bowl šŸ˜Š If you are looking to pay $21 for a sushi bowl this is not the right place. You can get more affordable ones elsewhere.

What a gorgeous place Legacy was. The food was delicious especially the fried chicken bao. The peanut butter smoothie was a standout and probably the best weā€™ve had! Canā€™t wait to go back!
Jessica Sargeant (Unbeleafablefood)
What a lovely experience at Legacy! The team were all really friendly and the food was delicious!

We tried the dragonfruit smoothie, AƧai bowl and charred greens. All could be made vegan which was great!!

AƧai bowl was tasty, fresh, and had a good dollop of coyo and PB on top which I loved!!

Charred greens were so flavourful! Loved the puffed rice and crunchy kale on top.

Legacy is definitely one of camberwellā€™s coolest, yet super friendly cafes!!
Dine And Dash
We came here for lunch the other day and boy did we leave satisfied.

We arrived at the cafĆ© at around 12 pm for lunch. Walking in, we were blown away at how busy the place was for a Tuesday afternoon!Ā We ordered the Sriracha and Chorizo Eggs Benny, the Sweet Potato Fritters, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Bao and the Sushi Bowl.Ā For drinks, we had the Nutella milkshake, Orange Juice as well as one of the superfood smoothies!

The food was absolutely sensational. The stand out dish was definitely the Fried Chicken Baos - that sriracha mayo sauce was exquisite and the fried chicken was cooked to perfection.Ā I also loved the Sushi bowl, it was of a generous serving and there were so many components of the dish that worked so well together including the wasabi mayo and watermelon radish.Ā The Eggs Benny (although small) was delightful and was extremely tasty. The Potato Fritters were crunchy and the Kaiser bacon and tomato chutney worked so well together.Ā Nothing to complain about the drinks - they were all refreshing (especially the smoothie) and accompanied the meals very well.

Overall, we were extremely impressed with the dining experience that we had - the ambience, decor and customer service were all exceptional and my friend and I were so happy that we dined here for lunch.
LetsDoBreaky
Saturday morning breaky and thought weā€™d try Legacy, it was easy to find and to park (ticketed parking on Camberwell Rd) and away from the craziness of the junction. I canā€™t say I was blown away by the food or the service, everything was okay. Although with a 10% weekend surcharge I should be raving about the service...
Instead I actually felt like we were an imposition with the pram and miss 5, rather than welcomed, we were sat at the very back out of the way and it was hard to get the attention of the staff.
Sherryyy
Went there by accident. Itā€™s a busy cafe located in Camberwell. Close to Camberwell junction so its quite easy to find. Great cafe food and friendly stuff. There is no bathroom inside so you have take a key and to go next door which is a bit inconvenient but itā€™s ok. The lamb super salad is just too good. Colorful and yum! Staffs are friendly. Absolutely worth trying šŸ‘»

This place has been very highly talked up, so I was expecting big things. The first thing that wasnā€™t clearly not big was the size of the cafe itself. We went there during 12-1pm (ish) so it was quite busy, and very squishy. We had a horrible place to sit, right at the front near one register. Second thing that wasnā€™t quite big was the size of the glasses, which were clearly made for gnomes. Third of all, we ordered a smoothie that was quite pricey for the average, again expecting big things...low and behold that glass was about the height of a toothpick. Honestly, for the price of that smoothie nearly $10 that was not worth it and quite disappointing. Food was tasty and fresh, but I feel legacy camberwell was quite hyped up, and needs a dash of humbleness.
Signing off...E.Thornbury
Fiona Chen
The food look pretty but taste average, 80% of the sushi bowl on the bottom are plain rice with no taste and the bao of fried chicken are way too thick and the hot cakes texture were too firm, but it's a good neighborhood gem to spend your time with friends/family in the areas
Thydafoodtour
This restaurant definitely worth the hype. Their food is amazing and the service is on point. The food were delicious and reasonable prices. Highly recommended. šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ

Went there early on a Sunday morning as it usually packed. Good choices on the menu and all food well presented. Staff were all very lovely. Food was very good. I had the eggs Benedict, my daughter the pancakes and a friend had the oats. All very very good. Would go back again.
The World Loves Melbourne
Legacy Camberwell is a superb cafe destination in Melbourne. So many menu options i wanted to order. The food is exciting and approachable, and well presented.Ā

Sriracha & Chorizo Eggs Benny was a rewarding dish with some welcome heat. So many of my favs in this dish - two poached eggs, chorizo (extra), avocado, sriracha hollandaise (innovative), on kimchi potato hash (innovative also with some heat), with halloumi (extra).Ā

The Legacy buttermilk fried chicken bao is a creative and substantial dish - you get 3 bao! The sriracha mayo makes this dish - so good!Ā

Also amazing was the Sushi Bowl - for those wanting a fresh healthy style dish.Ā

Service was also outstanding, engaging and attentive.Ā

A gem in Camberwell and worth a drive across town.Ā

Coffee was spot on. The vibe is excellent - I recommend sitting outside if you can get a table.

Legacy Camberwell is up there with the best cafes in Melbourne. A star in the east.

WOW! What a cafe!! šŸ’ÆšŸ’Æ
This place is next level amazing. šŸ˜ā¤ļø
The staff, decor, food and vibes were on point! The entire brunch experience was incredible and I cannot stress that enough. šŸ™ŒšŸ¼šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

The food was so delicious, my friend and I tried the:
1. Sriracha and chorizo eggs benny (a personal fave) with added halloumi šŸ§€
2. Hokey pokey hotcakes (so crispy and delicious, my only suggestion would be to have smaller pieces of honeycomb!) šŸ„ž
3. Charred greens with added poachie and halloumi (such an excellent tasty and healthy dish) šŸ„¦
4. The Mr Brightside and Royal Reece smoothie and almond latte ā˜•ļøšŸ„›
5. Also got to sneak a pic of the new acai bowl!! šŸ‘€ (will be trying next time!)

I have nothing more to say about the food except that it is presented so beautifully and tastes out of this world šŸŒŽ

I will 100% be returning ASAP! Everything was that good!

As a frequent visitor to Camberwell I've been to just about every cafe in the area, and trust me, there are a lot. Legacy is up there with the best, as it's situated away from the hustle and bustle of town, and is such a relaxing place to visit.

Upon entering, we are greeted by the happy and friendly staff... the type of welcome that keeps the regulars returning for more. The place is packed for a Friday morning, but the staff treat everyone with the same pleasant attitude despite being constantly busy. We love the relaxed vibe and decor... it's the kind of place that you want to chill out for hours.

There are so many yummy options on the menu, but we went with the Eggs Benny and the French toast. The Benny is amazing, with a base of kimchi hash, this was certainly a different spin on the classic. A great balance of flavours and textures, this one will keep Benny fans more than satisfied. The French toast is a generous portion, with the sharpness of the berries cutting through the sweeness of the fluffy toast. This dish proves that sometimes the simple things are the best.

Delicious coffee and vibrant, tasty smoothies round out our meal, and we walk away full, extremely happy, and already planning our return to this bustling cafe in the burbs.

Love the food here at Legacy! So many great options, both healthy and a little bit naughty. The buttermilk fried chicken bao are a stand out dish that you must try.
Kris L
Legacy is a great cafe tucked away in a little corner in Camberwell.
They offer Asian inspired brunch food that is absolutely delicious! We had the sriracha & chorizo eggs benny, fried chicken bao and chilli scrambled eggs. Yum!
The ambience is nice inside but can get a bit loud if the cafe is packed, and they have limited seats outside (two tables only).
Kvita Galashchuk
What a wonder cafe, great atmosphere and vibe! Definitely the right way to start a morning.

We had the Sriracha & Chorizo eggs, and the lamb super salad! The lamb super salad is definitely a stand out, loved the delicious flavours and fresh ingredients!

Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes from here!!!
TJS
Staff were lovely and attentive! Although the space is very loud. Food was good, I had the avo smash except lacked a bit of flavour. My mum got the Kimchi Rosti (see pictures) which was around $18 and it was a very small meal. 5 pax breakfast cost almost $200. Quite expensive for an average meal.
Daisynpeony
Will not recommend this dish Hokey Pokey hotcakes. Bitter white skin left on orange, the red syrup look disgusting soaking the hotcakes. Hot cakes is thick and not cook properly insidešŸ˜žšŸ’”. Presentation is šŸ‘Ž maybe other dishes is ok but Wonā€™t be back to try.
Michelle
Atmosphere was great and staff were friendly but where it matters...the food...we were left underwhelmed.

Ricotta hotcakes were dense and doughy rather than fluffy. Honeycomb was soggy. Accompanied by orange wedges with skin on? At $18 a plate shouldnā€™t be too hard to segment the citrus to make it easier to eat. Very popular though, maybe try something other than the not so hotcakes.

We were lucky enough to be invited to visit this popular cafe in Camberwell. We really like their interior design and vibes. It was great that we got to sit outside with a bit of sun shine in the summer.Ā

We started of with Mr Brightside smoothie, we would say it is one of the best smoothies we have tried. if you like smoothie we really want you to try.Ā

We also had Power Bowl, Sushi Bowl and Sriracha & chorizo eggs benny. We really like the acai power bowl. It doesnt taste sour like acai bowls that some cafes do. It has peanut butter in it so it tastes amazing!
Vivian
Legacy has always been very high on list when I think about some favourite cafes around Melbourne

I came in again after not visiting for some time and thoroughly enjoyed my meal . The cafƩ does get quick packed and sitting inside can sometimes be very noisy

We started our meal with the lamb salad, fried chicken bao and the green egg scramble. The lamb salad was fresh and had great flavour , loved the beetroot at the bottom but I do wish there was more lamb

The fried chicken bao was demolished in minutes, the fried chicken was juicy and succulent, the mayo that accompanied the chicken and slaw was so good !

The green eggs were also a hit, we loved the spinach folded inside but what I loved most about this dish was the farro! I have now discovered this delicious grain and was so shocked at how much flavour was packed into this element on this dish! So good

Thanks for having us
Jennitals
LIT!: we ordered the sweet potato fritters and the super salad. These fritters have won my heart. It was crispy with a few soft part due to the sauce which were really flavourful and excited every tastebud. Just when you think it doesnā€™t get better, the egg yolk blankets the fritters with its gooey goodness. As a healthier alternative, the salad was also delicious but the star of the show would go to these amazing fritters! Coffee and soy chai latte was also well done.

Thanks for having us, Iā€™ll have to throw you in my top 5 fave brunch places x

Been to a fair few cafes and legacy is definitely one of my favourites. It has a nice vibe to the cafe and staff are all very friendly, however I do wish the place was a little bigger as it is quite small.
Shanelwatson14
Cracking breakfast this morning. Had the little somethinā€™ somethinā€™ and all elements done perfectly. Strong skinny latteā€™s bang on the money as well.
Asi200377
The salmon on sushi bowl is not fresh ( the waiter is no any word to response when told the salmon is not fresh) and chicken from chicken bao is dry... I donā€™t think the food is qualified for this rate.
Dennis Auzan Darwis
Good place to have brunch,
I had Sushi Bowl(looks like a bigger portion of poke bowl), and Prana Chai.
Even tough the place was crowded and noisy, the staffs are friendly and cheerful.
Flying Forward
With so many popular cafes around the area, Legacy has been strong with the locals for the last couple years.

The exposed red brick gives it an industrial feel, and the interior is surprisingly large and features an inviting communal table stretching along the room. The floor to ceiling front windows provide a lot of natural light. at the front end of the cafe.
The menu is interesting, giving some cafƩ classics a fresh spin but also offering some inventive dishes to the trendy and healthy folk around the area.

* Mr Brightside - The smoothie is surprisingly refreshing. The mango gives it a beautifully sweet and tropical flavour but the vivid purple colour comes from dragonfruit. Naturally, dragonfruit doesnā€™t offer much flavour ā€“ itā€™s kind of like a soft, ever so lightly sweet watermelon.Ā

* Sushi Bowl - Itā€™s kind of a cross between a chirashi bowl (with only one kind of sashimi), and what people are calling a poke bowl these days. Whatever it is, the bowl is a pretty picture, with many elements complementing each other. The bed of sushi rice is sprinkled with furikake seasoning, providing a subtle dimension of umami, similar to the fried shallots which also have a nice crunch. The salmon sashimi is quite light in flavour but it goes really well with the roasted seaweed. I like the generous half avocado provided, and the fried egg is also a bit of luxury. Really nice dish.Ā

* Lamb salad ā€“ Itā€™s a little bit unassuming, but the lamb salad is delicious with a bit of a Middle Eastern flair. Tender pieces of lamb is shredded into the kale leaf salad and lightly dressed in a creamy but tangy beetroot pachadi, along with some lightly roasted hazlenuts. I love poking the poached egg, letting the yolk run through.

Itā€™s quite a busy cafĆ© at peak times as expected, but I really enjoyed my visit.

Thanks to the owner and the team for hosting me.

This place is great when it comes to food and has a point of difference when it comes to options of meals. We had the pancakes and the little bit of somethin' somethin', which had literally a little bit of something here and there as shown in the picture. It felt healthy, sufficient and tasty. Only suggestion is to change the middle communal table into several smaller tables for a more intimate atmosphere with you partner or friends.
Melanie (ForeverBrunching)
Delicious meal at Legacy last week. I loved the feel of the cafe, but I do wish it was bigger as it was quite loud inside with so many people in the small space. Sitting on the shared high table was nice but I do wish the seats were a little comfier. The staff were friendly and the meal came out very promptly. The soy flat white I ordered was delicious, and also very pretty! I loved the aƧai power bowl I ordered, it was exactly what I needed on the hot Melbourne day. I loved the generous serving of granola which was sweet and crispy. It was loaded with fresh fruit & coconut yogurt. I do wish there was more of the aƧai mixture in the dish. My friendā€™s sushi bowl was nice but didnā€™t blow me away. Overall great experience

I had brunch at this cafe. Industrial style cafe nice mood lighting and a really bright white interior.

My strong skinny latte was perfect. Strong w/o being bitter, but too hot, a good froth on top, yummy lol

The macchiato was perfect and it had some fun latte art. It was almost too good to drink lol

I had a sweet potato, kale and amaranth fritters served w goats cheese, bacon, cherry tomatoes, and a poached egg on top. Yum yum yum!! Hahaha this dish was delicious, everything worked really well together. It was soo moorish. Oh and I had some pork belly too which just topped this dish off.

My partner ordered Siracha & Chirozo eggs benny on a kimchi mash. This looked like a work or art, and the eggs were perfectly cooked, the siracha benny sauce was great and I really liked the kimchi mash. It had the consistency of a hash brown but much better.

I also saw sourdough Rye bread on the menu and I couldnā€™t resist this. The bread was perfect, it had a strong flavour, a nice sourdough taste and it was for me the perfect accompaniment!

This food is really good and this place is definitely worth a visit. Oh and there is easy street parking which is a bonus.

Thanks to the owner for the invitation to visit their this cafe. I was really impressed.
Srslyfoods
Good food with friendly and attentive staff. It can be very busy over the weekends. There are some 10% extra for weekend and public holidays. There is a 2P car park near the restaurant. I recommend the cafe for brunch

My visit to Legacy was amazing! I absolutely enjoyed all the dishes they served and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We got their Lamb Superfood Salad, Acai Bowl, Hokey Pokey Hotcakes and their NEW Nourish Bowl.Ā
Their portion sizes were SO generous that we were overwhelmed with how much food we had leftover, but it all tasted soo good that we didn't want any to go to waste so for probably the first time ever, I actually asked for a takeaway container so I could take stuff home (I usually just leave whatever's left over but it was soo good that I couldn't this time).
Lulu T. Legrand
I went out of my way to visit this place due to the high ratings. Based on what I got, the food is mediocre, portions small and my eggs were badly poached, almost hard inside, not runny at all. The kimchi hash was really good, nothing I have tried before and I really enjoyed it. The chorizo was just a thin slice of it, one. Overall, forgettable.

Good coffee.

The staff were genuinely friendly, accommodating and very attentive. In fact the staff were the best thing of my visit

The place is really vibrant and comfortable, with a great seating common area.
Hungry Gwendy
A good place to brunch and catch up with mates over the weekend in Camberwell. Ordered the Sushi bowl, which was so filling and healthy.Ā The staff was super friendly and cheerful, even though it was crowded on that day. Would definitely go back again!!!

Gorgeous cafe with stunning interior this is a must visit. besides the lovely welcoming and knowledgable staff the food and coffee were incredible! The coffee has got to be one of my favourites in the area and the food was flavoursome. Not usually one to order a nourish bowl this was the exception! Love love love! Defntelt recommend this dish if you're visiting, I'm still dreaming about that hummus! Absolutely delicious, healthy and for sure left me feeling satisfied! Shout out to the lovely waiter who suggested adding lemon for extra flavour! oh and the peanut butter smoothie! Creamy, thick and smooth, just how I like it! Id like to call myself a peanut butter expert and this for sure meets my standards! The best peanut smoothie ive tried hands down! You can actually taste the peanut butter unlike other bland ones I've had! plus the atmosphere at legacy is nice and the seating is so cute! Definitely worth paying a visit! Plus the individual behind this amazing cafe is one of the friendliest! Thanks legacy for this yum nourish bowl!
Laura
Have been at this cafe many times and still love going back, this cafe is very popular. The service is friendly and very attentive to customers. My favourite meal to have here, is the Sweet potato, Kale and Amaranth fritters as well as the newly introduced Nourish bowl. Coffee is also one of the best šŸ™ŒšŸ¼ highly recommend this cafe.
Molipus
My experience in this cafe was poor. Coffee was very unbalanced, had one sip and couldnā€™t drink it. Ordered the aƧai bowl, the taste was good but had to stop half way through because it was that sweet. Majority of this dish was vanilla yogurt out of a tub and granola out of a tub. Should just be called bowl of sugary vanilla yogurt. Not impressed at all as i find this place very hyped up. Went to pay and was even asked him anything was, even though he knew I barely touched it all.

Summary: Legacy is a superior Melbourne cafe. It has classy industrial chic surroundings. The food is fantastic and includes excellent healthy options. The coffee is exceptional as well. Service is warm, friendly and engaging too. Legacy is highly recommended.

Review:

We loved our experience here today. Weā€™d been keen to visit. Everything works and the cafe is up there with the best Melbourne venues. It has fantastic food, coffee and service.

Legacy has super modern decor. Itā€™s urban chic highlighting exposed bricks with lined timber. There was good music on the sound system and the space felt really good overall. I began with a wonderfully delectable long black. The coffee was the Maven by Maker Fine Coffee and is from Colombia. The coffee is utterly beautiful. Itā€™s beautiful, itā€™s full bodied and itā€™s thrillingly smooth. This is seriously good coffee and itā€™s made very skillfully here.

We were seated near the pass and saw a range of delicious looking meals coming out. Weā€™d spotted a few dishes being enjoyed by other customers. The Legacy buttermilk fried chick bao looked fantastic and so it proved. There are three on a plate and theyā€™re delicious. Soft and tangy with super tender chicken. They have lovely spicing. These are fantastic and have terrific texture and flavour.

Our key interest today though was the beautiful healthy bowls available at Legacy. Weā€™d been hanging out for them after seeing the Instagram pics and reading various reviews online. The sushi bowl is a cracker. We both wanted it but I lost out. The bowl delivers everything you could wish for. The warm rice is flavored nicely and the salmon well encrusted with sesame. This is served together with a generous serve of avocado, sliced radish, edamame and cute little fried egg and fried shallots that combined make a truly terrific meal. My partner adored it and proclaimed it the best healthy bowl sheā€™d ever had. I had a taste and had to agree it was outstanding. My dish was the nourish bowl with poached egg which was also a lovely combination. The dish is bursting with freshness. It has a luscious hummus with a lovely hit of tahini and lemon. Add cherry tomatoes, chick peas, cabbage, spinach and carrots and it all rests on a bed of beautifully cooked warm brown rice. The carrots had just the slightest crunch. Itā€™s a great dish as well and is really nicely arranged and presented. These are very very good healthy bowls. We loved both of them.

I finished with a turmeric latte on soy. This was soft, creamy, spicy, and gorgeous. Itā€™s a delicious offering. My partnerā€™s skinny flat white was a cracker too. Service was excellent throughout from all the staff here. Theyā€™re warm friendly and engaging with all customers and are a serious asset to the business. Our visit to Legacy was a great experience. Itā€™s an excellent cafe. We want to return for several dishes including the green folded eggs which sound amazing.

Our sincere thanks to Costa for the invitation to dine here today.

Legacy Camberwell is a great place for brunch. Whether you want coffee, smoothies, something healthy or something indulgent, you can find it all here. The food is colourful and the staff are friendly. When brunch is this good you just have to keep coming back to try the whole menu. Legacy Camberwell - coffee

I love this place for the simple fact it has some of the kindest people running it. Huge thanks to Abby for the great coffee.

Im sure everyone else has waxed lyrical about the food. Id like to give credit to the coffee

5 āļø
I visited Legacy for the first time and from word of mouth it definitely lived up to expectations. That upon entry you could see why this cafe is one of the best in the area. With friendly staff and a variety of dishes to suit any palette.

Being the first time, we asked for suggestions on what to order, which we ended up ordering, the Nourish Bowl, Sushi Bowl, Legacy Buttermilk Fried Chicken Bao and two superfood smoothies, Mr. Brightside and Royal Reece.

The Nourish Bowl was super tasty. The flavours within the bowl all balanced out each other, creating a nutritious and healthy dish. Alongside a nice Superfood Smoothie during the hot Melbourne weather, went down incredibly.

My friend ordered a Sushi Bowl, which she commented was ā€˜one of the greatest and tastiest meals sheā€™s had in a whileā€™. So, yes she certainly was impressed and loved her dish.

No complaints on food or staff, in all reality, there actually isnā€™t anything I could fault. It was the first and definitely not the last time visiting Legacy.

I thought Iā€™d Pop into Legacy Camberwell today for a quick meal. The place is very nice and they have lovely staff, the service is great they were busy at the time and managed to do an amazing job. The food was beautiful I got the fritters with a side of smashed avo and a smoothie and it was beautiful, I also got a takeaway coffee as I was leaving and one of the best coffees Iā€™ve had!!
Good Food Good Mood
We were invited to Legacy on Saturday and were seated on the bench next to the cake cabinet which was kind of uncomfortable but the sensational smells that emerged whenever the door slid open were truly delicious.

Given I started with a smoothie I didnā€™t have room for cake but I certainly wished I did. My purple paradise smoothie however was super tasty comprising of mango, coconut, blueberry and mint. We chose to order the French toast, hotcakes and smashed avocado.

The hotcakes had a lovely citrusy taste to them but the actual hokey pokey element was decorating the plate rather than inside the dish itself. It was still quite enjoyable but I would have preferred it through the hotcakes themselves or on top. Smashed avo is always a classic but I didnā€™t love the dark rye bread so in hindsight I probably should have swapped it out. Great cheery atmosphere

Original review
I had the superfood porridge thatā€™s served with blueberries, pepitas, banana and whipped pumpkin butter but they had run out of nanas so I was offered strawberries instead. While it's not exactly a contender for most instagrammable dish of the year I must admit they've made buckwheat look about as appetising as it possibly can.

I didn't really enjoy the dish but that was possibly poor ordering on my part rather than the talent of the chefs. The texture of the buckwheat was a bit grainy and that coupled with eating essentially four tablespoons of butter didn't exactly make my tastebuds sing. Another annoying thing was the bathrooms are down the street and you need to take a key with you. I've read lots of good things, but it didn't impart a legacy on me
Wellness Eats
Along busy Camberwell Road was Legacy, a quintessential inner-city Melbourne cafƩ. Legacy exudes an industrial vibe with its bare brick walls and exposed pipes, and this was the perfect neutral backdrop to the vibrant dishes featured on its menu.

All of our dishes were impressively presented with vivid colours and varying textures, and each dish tasted just as good as it looked!Ā The "Mixed berry french toast" is highly recommended with the perfect balance of flavours from sweet to savoury owing to the vanilla bean mascarpone and the berry compote. However, one item on the menu that we really appreciated was the "Little somethin', somethin", which included a mini acai granola, a mini croissant, a mini avo toast and OJ. Super cute and ideal for those who are either incredibly indecisive (i.e. us ;)) or just want a little taste of everything!

For a weekday lunch, service was great and staff were attentive. We would definitely be back again :)
Sweetoothbrunches
Often buzzing with people I decided to try this place out. The hotcakes were light and fluffy, but I personally didn't like the pomegranates with the strawberries. I think having one fruit would have been better, but anyway it was still delicious
Kyah English
I'd found out about this cafe through its popularity on Instagram and the amount of high profile individuals visit for a meal. I was happy to discover that the food doesn't just look good on Instagram and is followed with amazing flavour. I had the lamb super salad with added halloumi. I highly recommend adding the halloumi, it takes the dish to a whole other level and they didn't skimp on the lamb! It's a small seating area so if you don't mind sitting close to others and waiting for a table you should check it out.
KnowingMelbourne
I visited Legacy Camberwell over the weekend and was so excited, having seen their beautiful dishes across instagram over the last year. I am happy to report I was not disappointed! What a lovely spot! Melbourne turned on the weather so we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine.
I started with the Royal Reece smoothie which was so delicious! A strong and rich peanut butter flavour with banana, cacao powder, coconut, chia seed and almond milk. I loved it!
We then shared the absolutely delicious chicken bao. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a delicious coating, add some cabbage and some sriracha mayo and this dish is definitely one not to miss!
The sweet potato fritters were also a very tasty dish. A big and filling serving of three fritters, topped with goats cheese and a tomato chutney. A thick piece of bacon on top and we added a poached egg, what a dish. You wonā€™t leave hungry thatā€™s for sure!
And as if that wasnā€™t enough, we then shared the beautiful French toast with strawberries and blueberries and mascarpone. Sweet and satisfying!
Thanks so much for having us!

Really impressed with this place! The menu has a range of delicious healthy options and also more indulgent options which is exactly what balance you need when youā€™re going with friends to share. I loved the bao and the hot cakes the most!

Understandably a very popular spot. Coffee was great. Sat on the chairs that were facing the footpath and got to see all the cute dogs. Staff were attentive. I recommend the hotcakes and the fritters.

Loved the hot cakes here. Really well balanced and fragrant. We had bacon and eggs which were nice too! Busy little cafe! Will definitely be coming back!

Meh. I came here for a coffee recently, and tried one of their superfood smoothies as well. Both were good, but the coffee was in a tiny cup and cost around $5. I have soy milk, so I know thatā€™s always extra, but it was literally a few mouthfuls! And Iā€™m not sure how cafes justify an extra (usually) 50 cents for soy anyway, when itā€™s not that expensive anymore. Apart from that, the service was fairly average. When I first arrived, I just kind of stood in the front of the cafe awkwardly until someone finally greeted me - they werenā€™t super busy, and just a cheery ā€œhello, weā€™ll be with you in a momentā€ from behind the coffee machine is all it takes anyway. Just lacks atmosphere and that little ā€˜something extraā€™ that makes you want to return.
