Review Punto - Camberwell

Alex K
Hidden gem 'round the corner from the hustle and bustle of Burke Road wankery. Fantastic, reasonably priced, rustic Italian food served in a warm and welcoming cafe. The staff are genuinely friendly, and to top it all off, the coffee is great. What more could you want! Love it here.

Best coffee in the Junction, with the owner/barista as top bloke as you want. Decent Italian food and sweets. Can't go wrong with the croissant.
Andrew Pym
Great coffee certainly best in camberwell, didn't eat but food looked good so will be back to try. Needs a menu on display.
Adam Houston
Great coffee, a reasonable selection of light meals, and a nice atmosphere.
Sylvia Page
Great coffee and tea. Nice and small. Good food and nibbles
Kate Garvey
Amazing coffee & great simple food.
Derek Lai
Great coffee place in Camberwell shopping precinct. Highly recommended.

Delicious panino and good coffee

What can I say, homemade pizza with mushroom and fresh chill, amazing, coffee, lovely staff with a smile. A great family business with lots of love. Small place but hopefully one day they can expand as I can see this place share more love with more people. Keep up the great work guys.

Great coffee and good jazz music IF you are not in a rush. Right place to chill and relax or for a chat with the friendly barista. Not very big (6-8 seats plus a communal table).

So sad that they don’t have pasta anymore for weekday lunch :(. So I had the mushroom pizza instead. At first the dough was soft and fluffy and so yummy but by the time I finished half, the dough became a bit hard and thin :( sigh. I was a bit disappointed. I don’t mind going there again and try something else. I wish I can give 3.5 but I can’t :(

Really nice little place. I love their pastas (I've had them all) and their pizzas are also delicious yet simple. I've had their mortadella panini (with delicious green olives) and a Bresaola salad that were both very very nice as well. Coffee is great. Service is friendly. The place is tiny, get there early for lunch. My ONLY gripe is that (particularly considering the prices are not what you'd call "cheap") the portions are a bit on the small side for me. I guess it's great for a not-so-heavy lunch but even for that, I think it could use another 30% on the portions. I used to come here with a friend and we would often share one of their (also small) pizzas before we each had our own pasta. Their carbonara is obviously proper carbonara with no cream in sight. Highly recommended.

Great Service
Great Location
Great Atmosphere
Friendly and funny owner! The coffee is well balanced, not too strong, not too milky. I love their prosciutto pizza, fresh made!

A small joint right across Camberwell junction, serving nice coffee. Its a good one to start your day with..!! However, it could be quite busy in mornings and the service is pretty slow and prices are on higher side..!!
You probably wont mind that if you are visiting this place regularly as are most people who see in queue around you & which means the barista will pick up chit-chats to slow down coffee churning process.
Definitely worth a try...

This honest hard working restaurant/ coffee place right in the heart of Camberwell is so dependable.
The owner creates our long black coffees with hot milk on the side beautifully.
One could be tempted by a few little hand made Italian biscuits or a slice of orange cake.
Savoury specials with ingredients carefully selected. It is a small area that manages to serve a devoted clientele.
Engaging staff love their work and it is noticed in the results they serve each person.

Excellent cafe. Great coffee, lovely pasta, nice service. Authentic Italian. Small so cross your fingers for a table. Tucked away close to Rivoli.
Li-La
Had lunch there with a friend. We both had the "funghi" mushroom pasta - it was delicious: really tasty & perfectly cooked, although a bit too oily. Coffee was good. Service was friendly & efficient. Very small place with a nice atmosphere and authentic Italian food, right next to the Rivoli cinema & Camberwell junction.

Great food and coffee!

A must to visit in Camberwell!

Even if it's to listen to Dario's tales

Great authentic Italian bar food in a little cafe. Great coffee, friendly, accommodating and efficient staff. Only real Italian food on camberwell.
Vinay Gehi
Great food and coffee, I have been going to this cafe for 3 years and it's one of my favourite. Very friendly staff and always get great service. If you are around the area it's a must visit.

It's always service with a smile at this local gem. Dario and his team make everyone welcome whether regulars or passers by on the way to the Rivoli theatre. Coffee is perfectly extracted and the food is simple Classic Italian fare with a twist. Space is at a premium, but this seems to add to the cosy vibe. A must if visiting Camberwell!
No complaints here. Tasty coffee, fresh bread used in my foccaccia, great service, fair prices. I'll be back again. And I was! This time with the pasta and boy was it tasty, both my partner and I loved our meals, look forward to coming back again and again.

Mushroom Pasta. Very very nice and delicious!

Whoops. Apparently emoticons don't work in reviews. The mushroom pasta is awesome. So tasty & simple. I'm not a carbhead & I loved it.

Boring food. Simple classic dishes not made well. Underwhelming in flavour. My pumpkin pizza and the wooden board it was served on was soaked in oil.

Service was friendly, seem to have quite a number of regulars.

Maybe, maybe not. Considering the good rating, I must've had high expectations.

Food was a little underwhelming - I had poached eggs, peas with prosciutto, and a slightly burnt toast. My long black coffee was fair.

Friendly service and ambience is cosy, good music during Saturday lunch.

May be back to try other items.

Coffee. Wonderful coffee. Lovely Italian food and cakes bits. I wish they took credit cards!

Quality Italian. Simple, elegant and tasty authentic italian ingredients grace the menu and manifest themselves in the form of thin crusted pizzas, rolls and an assortment of breakfast options. Add to this one of the nicest coffees (they have their own blend) i have had in the area and this place is a standout.
Fi The Foodie
Arguably the best barista in camberwell, fresh little pizzas too, I'll often pop into punto

Hidden Gem. This is a great little place. Breakfast is fantastic as is the lunch menu. Best coffee East of Melbourne! Staff are always friendly and service is great.

The most consistent, best coffee I have probably ever tasted in my life. And god knows consistency is important with coffee! This place does amazing food, and I mean amazing. Has cute little Italian charm and the service is always friendly. Absolute win.

Fantastic coffee, nice and cozy small place, very friendly, good background music and one of the few places offering lactose free milk. What more could you want!

A Glowing Review. The wife and I walked past one night after an evening at the Rivoli. She said "I bet that place is GREAT." Word to the wise: ALWAYS listen to your wife ;)

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do enjoy the hot chocolates here. The menu has quite a few entries but I'm always a sucker for a carbonara, which here I find brilliant tasting, and I am very picky on my carbonara.

Definitely worth a go, particularly if you like your Italian food. Place is tiny, and busy, so pick your moment, but it is a very yummy place.

Lovely caffee. Pasta is nice and fresh. Coffe: amazing! Great prices too!
Jufo
Great coffee!!. Does a great soy latte, consistently - and service with a smile. Very impressed.

Dark Horse. Better coffee than Coffeehead ... Coffeehead have St Ali, Seven Seeds etc., Punto have Grinders. Go figure.

Very reasonable prices, great quality ingredients. Great to head down with a friend. Head down with three friends though and getting a table is a gamble. Having said that, it usually works out.

Good coffee, bad breakfast. We were excited to try this place after reading the good reviews. The coffee was good the food was very average. Overcooked poached eggs. Underdone bacon and burnt toast. My partner asked if he could have some relish or sauce with his meal and was told they do not have any sauces or relish ( in a cafe???). I ordered a freshly squeezed OJ from the menu and was told they dont have any oranges! We left feeling very underwhelmed.

Lucky day. Never thought I would have found such a gem place especially in such a high end suburb. The price is very reasonable but the food and coffee are exceptional - very authentic and delicious.

What a great little cafe. Fantastic coffee, friendly staff and the proscutto panini's are to die for...

Simply lovely. Punto is now open for dinner on fri and sat nights. on a warm spring evening I indulged on ice cold peroni's and delicious antipasto. Really lovely staff and lovely simple food. thumbs up!

The place to go. Punto has a great atmosphere with excellent food. Menu is plentiful, between pastas, rolls, snacks and desserts to please all customers' needs. The service is spot on, with a friendly face to make your day. The home made gnocchi is to die for!
