Review Juventino - Camberwell

Nice pasta. Must try the Pasta Calabrese! Seafood gourmet pizza was delicious too!

I've really held off writing a review on this place cause I've had mixed experiences. This place is one of the worst pizza joints I know I will not be returning. I asked for a meatlovers extra crispy what do I get a pizza that was so oily that it leaked all over my car seat there was literally a puddle of it. The other thing I saw was one of the cooks put his finger in a pot and eat whatever was in there. Do not go here there are far better places around. I'm done with the inconsistency and having to come home and put it in the oven cause you can't do your job!

BEST PIZZA’s and SERVICE This place is a “ Gem” - nothing like freshly cooked home style pizzas served by genuinely friendly staff 🍕 😊 You will not be disappointed Chris.

Great place for a pasta pizza and wine after a hard week.. Food excellent and affordable.

I have had Juventinos pizzas 3 times now and I can now say how lovely they are. I look forward to going through the menu . The house special and prosciutto pizza are top shelf . The pumpkin salad is beautiful. This is now my new go to place for pizza Julian

Wonderful evening and genuinely great food. If you live nearby, this is a must visit in 2022!!

Their arancini are frozen and when served to me, were still cold in the centre. Risotto alla pescatora was average. The seafood seemed decent quality but the overall dish didn't seem fresh. Luckily I ordered from here with a 45% discount, otherwise I would be mad if I had to pay the full prices for this poor food. Service was nice and polite though.

Great experience. Enjoyed the food and their customer service. Katia has been very friendly and does a wonderful job.

Dropped in for dessert and coffee and had an underwhelming crepe Suzette. The hot chocolate was very nice though. Wait staff looked like they would rather be anywhere else.

Had a lovely dinner for my daughter’s 7th birthday, top notch pizza, crust was thin and crispy and toppings were generous. My wife enjoyed her creamy pesto pasta we also ordered a carbonara and grilled chicken salad. Everything was was on point, fresh ingredients, lots of flavour. Love this place!

Nice pizzas and really good value. I bought 6 pizzas, garlic bread and a drink because we had a lot of people over. Everything was eaten. They even carried the pizzas into my car for me!! Been going there for a while and the quality is always good and consistent.

We took my elderly Mum out for dinner, We had a booking. We sat down and waited to order. After a lot of waiting a someone came for our order. We ordered our drinks 2 Cab Sav's and a coke, my Mum ordered spaghetti and my hubby had lasagna I ordered the veal. We watched as others came in and ordered their drinks and got them. The bread arrived, it seemed a little stale to me. The place was very busy. Family's and groups. After more waiting and waiting we order drinks again, more waiting finally the drinks came but still no food. Our food came but they sent out some chicken dish to me instead of veal. I said I hadn't ordered it and told them what I originally ordered. The waiter came and apologized, I said it would be good if they could send us out a glass of wine for my Mum and I; He replied that he had to speak to his boss. After another 18 minutes passed and no meal we decided to leave and asked for the veal takeaway. We spent $100.00 on the meal. I have a son who is a chef and talked to him about it, he said he would have compensated his patrons for the error. I have now told a number of people about the problem we had there and will never go again. You know the staff could have redeemed the situation but they didn't. Take my advice and never eat there.

I am a regular at this place, and they always deliver the goods, food is on point everytime, and great size meals and great staff, the pizza is amazing with fresh ingredients and I love having a treat which is there chocolate mousse is by far the best I’ve ever had... it’s house made and amazing.
Tonight I had the special which was the baked potato filled with chicken, and spring onion , cheddar cheese topped with bolognese ..
Absolutely amazing 👌

Please spend your money elsewhere. I visited last night with some friends, the food was fine, but the way these people treat their staff is appalling. The son (Prince) was lovely to his customers but had no hesitation at yelling at one of his waiters and even verbally abusing him sarcastically calling him a 'genius'. Absolutely unprofessional and pathetic. This guy doesn't treat his staff with any respect. I will never return and I hope other customers chose not to support this guy.

Hey "genius" (Prince) I hope you read this and feel really big and strong talking down and name calling a young waiter. Pathetic. Even if this waiter had made a mistake, address him by his name, talk to him respectfully, and let him know what he can do next time.

Tried this little local out with my children the other day. Service was good. Food was ok. Kids were quite happy with their pizzas but I wouldn’t say they were particularly good pizzas, just average. Gnocchi with mushroom sauce was nice and the gnocchi itself was really good - fresh and had a really nice, “melty” consistency. Portion of gnocchi was a bit too generous, I really struggled to finish it. Prices are reasonable and this is quite a good local place to have for a family dinner but it is a bit underwhelming and the decor/atmosphere could definitely be improved too. The lighting is too bright and too cold and the place could do with a bit of a revamp to make it more cosy/appealing. Sometimes it doesn’t take much - dim the lighting, repaint, and maybe add a few candles and that already makes a big difference!

Absolutely love the pizza from here. The seafood one from the gourmet menu has giant succulent shrimp, scallops and loads of cheese. The Hawaiian was great too. Best take out pizza in Camberwell.

We love dining out and love dining at Juventino, a great local restaurant. The food is delicious and if I had to chose my favourite I would have to say the pizza! The wait staff are attentive and offer great service. Juventino is an awesome restaurant and I highly recommend this place to others.

Great food and excellent service. I think it's under new management and it really shows. The quality of food is high and service is very attentive. Their pizzas don't have that heavy sloggy consistency of many other places, cooked well and ingredients always fresh. Pasta is hand made and has an the tic Italian flavour. There was only one time it took a while for my meal but they were very busy and got a complimentary garlic pizza! Yum

Can't speak highly enough of this restaurant! Me and my wife dine their once a fortnight now. Pastas are amazing and I love their pizzas as well. Service is also excellent and I found staff always friendly and courteous.

Had dinner here the other night with a girlfriend...this place is definitely a hidden gem! Pizza was great with beautiful crust and not greasy. The pasta was fresh and sauce was amazing compared to what I have had. My friend had the porterhouse and she loved it cooked well with a nice mushroom sauce chips and veggies...it was a little noisy because they had a function on but we will definitely be back!

This place is in a prime position with all competition some distance away and with the drawcard of Monaco's Deli nearby. They have totally wasted these opportunities by serving claggy sauces on any pasta or meat dish and absolutely tasteless pizzas. There is no reason at all to go here which pains me as I live close by and would love a walk-to italian restaurant. Step up and improve your fare, the locals would love a good local eatery.

Had a cosy Sunday night dinner here with my wife and young daughter. Pizzas were delicious, the crust was perfect and the toppings were fresh. My daughter loved standing behind the gelato counter to scoop her own dessert. Friendly and attentive staff, we will definitely be back!

Service and food exceptional. Perfect for family get together!!! Been there several times and each time the food was awesome. Provides good customer service.

Tried here after the refurbishment I had Veal Florentine my wife Brooklyn pizza. The veal was bland and sauce tasteless lots of soggy chips .Pizza was very good.Prices have risen since we lat ate here and the food has not kept pace with the price. Service was really good, but just not worth the cost

Last night the mood struck for takeaway Pizza, so we thought we'd give Juventino a go for the first time instead of our other locals. We rang and ordered a Brooklyn and a basic Vegetarian and arranged to collect. When I arrived however the place was in darkness, no they hadn't just shut up, but they did have a major power outage in Camberwell Rd. I felt sorry for them and the few customers who were sitting inside. I must however compliment the staff, they apologised and since their oven was still hot they had made our pizzas for collection. It took a little longer than expected but the pizzas themselves were worth waiting for. Good ingredients, not smothered, but sufficient to appreciate the taste and quality. We'll be back to give them another try, hopefully when their overall presentation etc. can be better observed.

The service was fine and the staff personable but the food is very very very bland. Wouldn't go back. They should choose if they are Italian or pub grub style and do a simple menu well.
Hoang Le
Says it is homemade pasta. I don't believe it is. Very salty. Very mediocre pizza. From past reviews it looks like just had a change of management.

Great place!. I have been going to Juventino Restaurant since it originally opened under Justine and Adrian. The food went from great to the other end of the spectrum. They decided a few months ago that it was time for them to move on and passed on ownership to a Joe. The food has ever since been absolutely fantastic - very consistent, fantastic staff, may be a little pricey now but it's still amazing. The sizing is very generous and you can easily get two meals out of it if you take away...unless you are super hungry of course! I am glad I can still go back to Juventino and be completely satisfied! Love the new menu items too!

Disappointed customers. Since management changed, prices up and quality down.

Needs more Dave and Corso.

Great Service and Food Was Great, They Made Me a Custom Made Pizza....I Love It When They do That. I asked the waiter if they would add a few things to my pizza, they were like " what ever you want" oh and they the even made pasta the way I wanted it too.
Austar
Very Very Average. Visited for lunch. Good location and well decorated inside. Service good and attentive. But the food was awful. The pasta (home made apparently) was grossly overcooked and the arrabiata sauce was more like a stir fry of various vegetables. Almost no flavour and poor consistency. A pity because I walk past this place often and would like it to be much better. Never again!
Jenny
Love it!. Love this restaurant always bring my family here

Excellent!. Such a great place to have dinner/lunch with friends & family. Beautiful food and so many choices on the menu

New owners. I live nearby this restaurant and I came here a few times a while ago.. found the food to be pretty average. Since the new owners came in a few months ago I thought I'd give it another shot and I was definitely impressed with the change. The food is amazing and the service is great! This will be one of my regular restaurants now

Had dinner the other night since new management have taken over and the place has definitely improved.

service was great, food was even better...and have since had home delivery, new menu, great quality and prices are better...overall happy customer sure to keep on eating at Juventino's

Cheers boys
keep up the good work

Highly recommend. Lovely, understated and warm restaurant. Had a group of friends here for dinner. Service was fantastic from beginning to end, the wait staff here were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and full of flavour!
Will definitely be coming back again.

Dissapointed to say the least. I had the worst pizza last night, and will never return. The dough was so gluggy it stuck to the roof of my mouth and both pizzas were soggy which left us all feeling quite ill. I wouldn't recommend Juventino.
ROON
Had takeaway. Best gnocchi I have had at a restaurant. Pizza not so good.
Rogue Spoon
Disappointing. What a shame. Good looking place, service is not bad, but let down by average, bland food.
Pizza was just ok. But the Pesto with pasta, penne was covered in a cream based green sauce. Lazy.
Lots of diners too. Popularity has led to complacency.
Local Diner
Great food, terrible service. Went there with 2 girlfriends for a mid week dinner and had to ask the waiters continiously to serve us from not having plates, knifes forks, menus and ordering every step of the way we had to ask for a help. The worst thing was the waiters were not busy but standing around chatting whilst we waited to get their attention to serve us. Not once but several times throughout the evening and at times it was several minutes before we could get their attention. Shocking, shocking shocking service, when the food did arrive it was very nice, but didnt get servers with the pasta to share, so another wait.......

Fantastic!. I have been to this place many times and each time it is consistently good. The homemade gnocchi melts in the mouth and the pizzas have a thin base with flavoursome toppings. The decor is nice and the ambience is relaxing, as it's not too noisy. The staff are really friendly and attentive and they make an effort to remember you each time. Additionally, it is very reasonably priced for the quantity and the quality of the food. I highly recommend this place, I would strongly suggest booking.

Great pizza and great staff. The pizza guy named Dave is also dashingly handsome. Probably the only reason I go there
Holly_cool_6
Fantastic. Really enjoyed my dining experience at Juventino. the staff is excellent and the food was amazing. definitely recommending this place to my friends.
Maebee
Consistently good. Great place, fantastic service, good consistent food and good price. Great for families and groups any night of the week.

Great Food - Great Ambience. Despite reading a couple of mediocre as well as many good reviews, my husband and I decided to try Juventino a few weeks ago. And, we are so glad we did! A typical Italian style pizza restaurant we were treated like ‘long lost friends’ the moment we arrived. As the eatery was half full, we were informed that we could sit anywhere we liked. Our friendly and well mannered waiter ensured that we had drinks whilst selecting our order. My husband ordered ‘veal funghi’ and I ordered a pasta dish. Both were cooked to perfection. The veal was flavoursome, melted in the mouth and was served with chips that stayed hot until the end and a fresh green salad. The pasta was freshly made and served with a well seasoned home- made style sauce.
Being in the small group of shops in Camberwell Road, we didn’t have the hassle of finding a car parking spot as we often do in the Junction precinct. We have now been back to Juventino on two other occasions with friends and have happily enjoyed the food, ambience and service each time. Well done and keep up the good work.

After visiting Juventino , I dont know a they survive considering how poor the food and service was, our table of 6 ordered a combination of pizza, pasta and mains and every dish was unacceptable. The three pizzas were inedible. One was a more like a soup considering how wet and soggy it was and black on the bottom, the other two were burnt and extremely dry. Maybe the kids making the pizzas should be concentrating on their high school studies than making pizzas!

The two spaghetti pastas were overcooked, one had a split sauce, the other overloaded on salt. The steak came out rare when medium/well was ordered.

The waiter and waitress lacked knowledge, generally unfriendly and forgetful. The table water was not chilled and drink service took forever.

As well as this, the restaurant was in a dirty condition.

I hope other people have had better experiences than this, but Juventino was definitely an experience is prefer to forget!

Poor and disappointing.. Food as good as ever, but service standards have dropped, judging by our last visit. We reserved a table but found on arrival that it was one of the worst tables in the restaurant (despite it not being very busy at all, only two or three other tables were occupied). We relocated but that exercise did not seem to please the waitress terribly much. Again, despite it not being busy, our food took longer than usual to get to us and part of our order was forgotten (without any apology from the surly waiter). Of the two people serving us, I don't think there was a single smile or gesture of welcome exchanged between them or toward us. The overall impression we got was that we were interrupting whatever else the waiters had to do that night. We were put near the cutlery tray at the back of the restaurant, and ate our meals to the harmonic sound of the waitress loudly clunking the clean cutlery into the trays. She certainly behaved in a manner as if we were not there at all. Overall, despite being regulars since the restaurant opened, we didn't feel at all welcome and it was not an enjoyable experience. If you want to be valued as customers and feel that your hefty bill is being well spent, I certainly wouldn't head here.

This place looks like your average pizza / pasta joint. But it's not. Great food and service. Pizzas were beautiful. They understand that u don't need to pile on toppings for a pizza is good. Sometimes less is better and they nailed it. I'll be back!
Serge
Great friendly staff and nice tasty food at a great price - will definitely go back again!

Uncomplicated home cooked Italian - great!
Good service and reasonable prices and corkage.
We will return.

Excellent!. Haven't been in a year so not sure if it has changed but when I was there last - BRILLIANT. Pasta is fresh and melts in your mouth (literally). It is so yummy. Pizza is great and the service is fantastic. Very friendly staff and quick service.
Serg
The food was very very average. The service was very poor. Over staffed by very young people who would prefer to be somewhere else. Never again!
DR
Love it!. Relaxed, casual dining, good food - especially the ice cream!

Pasta not good Pizza did not try. We went with a group of four on 14th January and they had just reopened after Xmas break the day before. We ordered Caesar and Green salad both of which arrived after our mains. Both dishes worse for wear. We all ordered Carbinara style pasta which was the worst mistake ever. The pasta was absolutely tasteless! In fact so bad that we left a lot on the plates.Service was poor but feel they were under pressure and the noise in the restaurant was extreme. Will take a long time before we return.
Mumneedscoffee
Great local Italian. The pasta if fresh and the pizzas are v tasty! Quick takeaway and great service if you dine in.

Went for a chicken Caesar, hard to find a good one.... We have without Caesar dressing an this one was ok but not great. Interestingly chicken came smothered in pesto (I wasn't a fan but wife was). Simple iceberg lettuce and lots of shaved Parmesan. Average...

Not too happy. It was our first timer getting a takeaway from this rest. Carbonara was so peppery and Al salmon pasta was way too salty.
Georgia
Home made delights. Nothing like freshly made pasta and house-made ice-cream.
The calamari is delicious, the ceasar salad is yummy and we'll travel over 3 suburbs to get the pizza.
We love sitting in the booths by the front window for an early meal with the kiddies.
Eman
Went there for dads.... Went there for dinner for dads birthday and had such nice time, staff are so friendly and food was so yummy! :)
Charlotte
Pasta was great, pizza was so so. Great family friendly but not too romantic.

Mrs kathryn taylor. My father & i had a wonderful lunch at
juventino today.
the fillet steak was one of the best i have had anywhere.
the restaurant is family owned & run .we were made very welcome
we will certainly be back.

Had take away from here a couple of times. Toppings are cheap and pizzas are soggy. Pastas are nothing special ether. Not a fan of this place at all. Definitely not returning in a rush!!

Best Pasta in the World !. I have traveled all over the world and can honestly say that together with the excellent service and warm atmosphere the pasta is phenomenal !
Carlo
Family friendly. Great little italian/pizza restaurant in Middle Camberwell. Friendly, down-to-earth staff work in here. Great pizza's ranging from Aussie to gourmet Italian variants (and I've tried a fair few!). You can bring the kids for lunch on Saturdays before going to the footy or have a little anniversery do or a cold weekday evening. Plenty of parking in the surrounding streets.

Juventino is on its way up in the restaurant world and it not hard to see why. A small restaurant hidden within the heart of Camberwell, Juventino is amazing both locals, and people coming into the suburb. There is nothing quite like the fresh pasta (which is made on premises) and whilst eating it your tempted to think "why should i ever buy packaged pasta from the supermarket again?". Along with their extensive range of lovely made pizzas, and their Specials board with a different taste in food, Juventino manages to bring a wide variety of fresh food to us. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and with a liquor licence on its way, Juventino will soon be the next big thing. 9/10
LBW
Yum. I've tried a few pizzas from this place and love them all. I'd recommend the vegetarian with ham some added.
HJS
Bill, Juventino's dosn't deliver because it is a restaurant, not a pizza place, and traditional pizzas from Italy are made with less toppings than what u find at other pizza place, which make the experience just that much better.
Sue
I loved it!!. I have 2 young kids and it was a very child friendly restaurant and great value for money. The gnocchi was great!
Bill
Pizza's can be very soggy and not very generous with the toppings. Much better value for money at other nearby pizza shops (that will also he deliver - juventino do not)
