Review Kopan Grill - Camberwell

Great flavours from this cosy Korean/Japanese joint, good service with a smile. Will come again to sample the fried chicken.
Mike Efron
Beautiful food, expertly cooked. Lovely little place that my family just adores. Good options for kids and adults. The quality of the food is beyond anything you'd expect from a little neighbourhood place. Jae's udon broth alone is worth a visit. The Korean Fried Chicken is outstanding. The nasu miso (eggplant) is delicious. And heaps more.

Great food great service clean and fresh. Authentic Japanese with a Korean dash for extra enjoyment at very reasonable prices. Brilliant take away or eat in beautifully presented and with a smile. Love this place a regular
Ronnie Gane
Delicious! I had the fried chicken and curry, which was hearty, warming and perfectly spiced. Prawn gyoza entrees were great, and my friend's bulgogi was top notch.

So good. Well balanced flavours and big dishes. Two menu's- weekday lunches and dinner/ weekend menu. Looks tried but get past that and make your tastebuds happy
Chris Burns
Truly exceptional food at fabulous value prices. Very intimate, cosy surrounds and super friendly staff. We recommend.
Khoa Le
Arguably one of the best korean and japanese restaurants in town. The menu is creative and food tastes heavenly!!!
Eric So
Wonderful Korean food. Consistent quality. Great customer service. A local gem.

The food here never fails to please the stomach! Everything here is fantastic especially the sushi (only during dinner time). Food is beautifully presented and staff are super friendly :) will always go back when there's an opportunity

Been here many times and I have always ordered Beef Udon. I had my best Beef Udon so far from them. Decided to try Jampong the other day after being loyal to their Beef Udon for a year. And they did not disappoint me. The soup was full of flavour with a LOT of seafood. I was so full when I tried to finish the last big prawn. Greentea ice cream was on point too. Furthermore, the decor of this restaurant makes you feel very cosy. I always come here alone, the window table is probably my most favourite spot to peacefully enjoy my food while watching people walk pass and do my own work. Staffs are friendly and helpful is a plus point. I will definitely make my way back to them soon.

Food: simply delicious, home style cooking with a little contemporary flare. The Korean fried chickens with herbs was crunchy and bite sized. Grilled sushi was great. Tofu and takoyaki sizzler a fun delicious dish. Definitely recommend the kimchi pork main set, it was flavoursome and tender with a bit of crisp. All mains came with refreshing side salads.

Service: very polite and attentive staff, never really needed to ask for anything because it was always provided and brought to you in advance.

Would definitely return for takeaway or another casual dinner!

Went with a group of 11 recently. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was full of flavour and very tasty. We will surely be back for the prawn gyoza.

Have been coming to this Korean-Japanese infused reataurant for a couple of years now, and their food never seems to let us down (except for when the katsu is sometimes burnt). We have talked to the owner a few times, and he is extremely welcoming and polite. Great ambience and solid music to crusie to in the background- staff speak Korean and are super friendly to call over.

Their salmon snow mountain grilled sushi is a must-have for a dinner entree, and from Jae's selection of bibimbap, ginger pork belly and tofu and takoyaki sizzler, you honestly can't go wrong. Their modern take is delicious and holds true flavour. This quaint restaurant found right next to Camberwell train station and tram stop is local and authentic with a modern twist.

Would suggest this lovely restaurant spot for lunch or dinner meals.

Very clean, small place, friendly service and above average food for a Korean/Japanese menu. For the price you pay for, this is definitely worth it. The portion is quite huge n u get varieties on a plate of lunch.
Darren Chow
Easily my favourite Korean and Japanese restaurant around town. Though decor is lacking, but the shop is small and it is understandable. Staff was great. Food was amazing. Everything there was amazing. I especially liked the herb fried chicken and bulgogi set menu. I recommend the fried chicken because it is crunchy with some herbs and spices. The bulgogi was fabulous. Nice char-grilled flavour and tender beef. The veggies add some crunch. They also serve the bulgogi with rice, salad, edamame (soy beans), tofu, and tempura. Tasty food and would definitely go often.

Unassuming, simple restaurant that you would probably miss on your evening stroll down Bourke Road. My boyfriend and I were looking for something to eat Friday after work. It was 5.30 so a lot of the places were only starting to open for their dinner rush. Kopan Grill was where we set our sights if only because it looked nice and cosy, and we were getting really cold. I'm so glad that we ended up stopping here! Simple, inexpensive food, with very attentive service.

Prawn spring rolls - 3/5 - these are more like money bags than spring rolls. I didn't like these, but didn't hate them. The noodle cut through the creaminess of the prawn, which I enjoyed.
Volcano grilled sushi - 4.5/5 - the small serving comes with 4 pieces, and the large comes with 8. Loved it so much that we got a small serving first, then a large one afterwards. The sushi pieces themselves aren't that big and are very easy to eat. Whilst it's called "Volcano", those who cannot handle chilli should not be deterred. It is not overly spicy. I'd say it's more subtle with its kick and I really enjoyed this. Would recommend the salmon over the tuna.
KFC - 4.5/5 - I love Korean Fried Chicken and I loved Kopan Grill's take on Korean Fried Chicken. It's as simple as that.
Curry rice with prawn - 3.5/5 - can't really go wrong with curry rice and it was a really easy way to warm up that cold night. Very rich and filling. Would have enjoyed it more if it were a bit spicier but I like spicy food so that's my word on it.

To get your Korean and Japanese fix, visit Kopan Grill!! For winter nights the hot citron tea is also delicious!

Kopan is delish and very affordable. Haven't been here for a while but defs need to attend again rapidly. BYO and super convenient location, would recommend.

Our local go to, we're usually here once a week. The food is consistently excellent. We often take friends here and they ask what to order, we say everything is good! My faves are the volcano sushi and the curry.
Shaun Lim
The sushi here is the best! :)! Food here in general is so good! The service and waiters 👌🏽 definitely will come here more than once ! :):):)

Love the place and personlised service, only complaint is they run out of quite a few things we wanted.. love the food., Overall great place.

My wife & I are really fussy with our Korean food. Thankfully, Kopan Grill is our local. Why 5 stars? The food is always first class, tasty and prepared as quickly as one can expect for a freshly made meal. Highlights are the spicy prawn and squid, the bulgogi and Japanese curry. It's a great mix of Korean and Japanese. Look out for Jai, he looks like he works his ass off 24/7, but he's always got a smile and even remembers my voice when I call. Very lucky to have this gem nearby!

In this little town, it's expensive. Though the trick is to go out for lunch, especially while you still can. As an adult who works 9-5pm you won't be able to sneak out for a leisurely meal. Kopan Grill - Korean & Japanese, just a block away from the station has been on our list since we first moved here, though we haven't gotten around it till now (yes a week-ish before moving houses).

This restaurant is our local go to.
They always produce great fresh food.
The "Sets" are to die for.
Grilled sushi fantastic.
Great tastes, great service, great value.
Always a smile and we leave very satisfied.
Thank you.
Sat Sep 9 2017
And again another super meal.
Sizzling seafood plate. So yummy.
Jampong, spicy seafood soup amazing.
Thanks again, always always superb.

Very good service and quality Japanese food . Loved the grilled sushi , inari udon and Katsu don . The Korean fried chicken however can be better but overall pleasant dining experience .

Always come here when I can't be bothered cooking. Really cozy atmosphere! Excellent staff service and delicious food! I luv their food presentation ! But be sure to call in to check if they are open at lunch as they sometimes doesn't open according to opening hours .

Kopan stands for Korea and japan I guess, since the restaurant offered mix of Korean and Japanese cuisines.
This restaurant was pretty small and popular on the weekday night. But they might need to improve the ventilation since I walked in, the smoking from the kitchen made me coughing.
But the service was pretty good and staff were friendly. The menu was quite interesting, a lot of mix Korean and Japanese traditional dishes but also has some creative ones.
We ordered one agedashi tofu one sizzling spicy Korean pork and chili beef special.
#tofu- not very traditional since they used firmer tofu than the silky one. The skin was crunchy without the potato starch layer, but I think there were too much sauce on it, not bad, but maybe less is better.
#chili beef-like the name, it was chilly but not too bad. Sliced beef was very tender, sweet and flavorful , underneath it was some stir fried vegetables. Personally I preferred the beef than the pork.
#pork-well, it didn't come out very sizzling...also it was not what I expected. I want some kimchi in it...if possible...anyway, the pork was in big slices and the sauce was ok. Nothing stands out...
Overall, Kopan was not a restaurant that served traditional Korean and Japanese food, it more leaned towards westernized food.

Weird restaurant that said open for lunch but when we went there, it was closed. We saw a waiter inside and asked him coz the opening hours on the door shown that it shouldve been open, he answered, err... We dont think we will do lunch today.. Errr... Ok weird.
Dunno if ill bother to go there again n try their food.
Hello World!
Last time when I went to Kopan Grill, it was just opened! The menu back then was small and choices were limited with fusion Korean food. Few years after we went back and found it has been improving! Service was good, and there were more choices this time! We had BiBimBap, ginger pork belly and small fried chicken. The fried chicken was so tender, steamy inside and crispy outside, it is the tenderest Korean fried chicken I ever had! The Bibimbap and ginger pork belly were good too. It would be better if the service size was bigger!

Lovely, flavourful food here. The lunch specials are great value and so yummy and not unhealthy! The chef is really friendly too. I've had the curry, and miso tofu and veggies many times and the food has always been delicious and tasty comfort food! Recommended!
PotatoDemon
Cheap and delicious. Service was fast and friendly and food was pretty darn tasty. Worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood. Especially enjoyed the crispy chicken curry!
Jelena Louise May
I've dined here too many times to count and I have never been disappointed! The Volcano sushi is a must to order when you visit and the Crispy Chicken Main set is my number one favourite for main. Its a great local hot spot and reasonably priced also.
Travelling Palate
Delightful Korean and Japanese grill. Cheap and cheerful but very good, attentive service. The dishes are of very good quality food and beautifully presented.
Jessica Han
western fushion Korean and Japanese cuisine, tried Korean herb fried chicken, bongugi and spicy seafood combination. The flavour is alright but not very traditional. It serves like the meal. The Barbecue does not look like the special thing
Rachel Jade
Having been there for lunch, it offers good deals and the standard rice fare - I had a crispy chicken and curry dish that was tasty enough, though not super exciting or different.
Martina
Great food!
Love their Kimchi and sushi
Will definitely come back
Super friendly service
Ambiance could improve, decoration is pretty boring
Been here few times and love this place. Great food, good price, good service. Love the beef curry with kopan sauce so delicious I highly recommend to try.!
Sam
Kopan Grill is a great little restaurant with Japanese/Korean fusion food. All of the dishes on the menu are great, and the selection is varied. Their Volcano/Snow Mountain sushi is fantastic. All the staff are friendly, and the service is very speedy. A great spot for a quick bite to eat on a weeknight.

We have been to this place a few times and we love it!!

Good customer service & good food!

Sashimi & scallops on rice & volcano rolls are my big fav!!

Price are reasonable.
LeanMeanChewingMachine
A nice place to enjoy a meal. Rather small establishment, accommodating max of 22 patrons, but tables are reasonably spaced and decor is trendy. We ordered from the mains lunch set - kimchi pork and red crispy chicken. Food was well presented, tasty and fresh. Portion size is decent and good value for money. I would say that they are adopting a modern Japanese- Korean theme and they have done well. A minor let down was the lack of traditional korean side dishes that one would usually get with their Korean meal.
Friendly staff.
Brunching Around
Friendly, intimate local Korean restaurant. The food is fresh and made well. Prices are reasonable and the staff are very nice. Great for a casual meal
Spunkychicken
Lovely lunch spot.... Enjoyed a delicious meal at lunchtime, good value lunch menu, perhaps more pricey than similiar offerings along Glenferrie Rd, but the quality of the food was excellent, and service was really friendly.
Jessy
A cold night deserves this heart-warming Bulgogi Udon soup...simply the best winter dish that I have ever had!!
The Cat
Beautiful, lovely staff and the food was fantastic, look forward to the next visit .
Nice with the mix of Korean & Japanese. Menu choice was very good

Value for food!. Love this place! Have never been disappointed..only downside is how small it is but other than that the food and service is great! Can't complain about this place..LOVE the food and how cheap it is to eat there too..always leaving a tip for these guys! :)
Quanchai Burns
Tiny local gem. Tried it after reading reviews and salivating at the pictures. Fresh ingredients, great chef and lovely service.
Nean
My only dislike.... It just wasn't spicy enough. I had a red noodle soup, expecting the red was from chilli (which would've been great) but seemed like the red was from tomato or something else. It was extremely mild, but tasty. The fried chicken though was tough and no where near crispy. Service was lovely and manager was lovely, but it didn't hit my expectations for proper Korean. It was dumbed down.
Stephanie T
Lovely service, lovely food and beatifully presented. I feel this will become one of our regulars.
Hyeonjun Kim
Very Impressed!. I was not that much expected how foods are delicious. However, it turns out the foods are absolutely amazing and the waitress is so kind and smart! she knows what i need even before i ask. I will go often as I love their food and for their kindness.

Sorely disappointed and pissed off. My husband called the night before we went and booked a table for three people for my mum's birthday. Mum wanted to try Korean so we chose this restaurant based on good reviews we had read. When we arrived (on time) we were greeted by the hostess who asked us to wait a minute. We waited squished into a corner, as the place was tiny but full so there was not much space. She came back and apologised saying that they mistakenly had given our reserved table to one person who was still eating. She then asked if we wanted to eat on the street outside which didn't have a pleasant alfresco setting at all, nor was it what we had in mind to celebrate mum's birthday.
Although it was busy, we were pretty annoyed that we had taken the trouble of booking ahead, but they hadn't bothered to reserve a table for us. This made us have to wing it and hope we found another Korean somewhere else on Burke Road. Fortunately, we did! It's called Miss Korea Kitchen and was only around 200-300m down the road. The food was amazing (came out really quickly), fantastic customer service and the atmosphere and size of the restaurant was WAY better than Kopan Grill. My recommendation is to skip Kopan Grill altogether and head straight to Miss Korea Kitchen. You'll have a far better dining experience!
Renée Gee
Amazing Food - Lovely Manager. We have a tough time on our first night sitting on the street (in the rain) as there were no tables. The waitress left us waiting for our drinks for 45 minutes. The other people at the next table got our order... waited almost an hour for our food. We were not happy and the manager came out and apologised for the misunderstanding. The food was amazing and we were not charged for our trouble. Worth the wait and I'm sure that would never happen normally. Highly recommended for the quality of the food and honourable owner.

We love Kopan Grill we go so often we have got to know the owners and they have a great little restaurant here.

This is the place to go everyday! Quality and detail food with nice plate up,also very reasonable price. The service is fantastic. Helpful and friendly staff. Will come back soon

What a hidden gem in Camberwell. The tuna sushi roll with grilled salmon on top was delicious, as was the scallop and Katsu prawn on rice. Will definitely be coming back. Loved it!

Cannot be faulted - sublime - with prices that allow you to eat here every day.. Food is memorably delicious, a visual delight, really well priced for the punter (cheap), just right in size and very healthy. Looking at the menu I want to try everything. The service is great - prompt, cheerful, polite and not intrusive. Ambience - cosy but not cramped or unkempt. It is always not too busy or too quiet. I'm going to miss this place enormously when my office moves. It's so good that a colleague eats here for lunch every workday except Monday. Ah - there is a fault! It is not open on Mondays! But I still give it 5 stars because it exceeds every other expectation.
Austar
Quick lunch . Excellent for service, speed and quality.....couldn't fault.
Asian_foodie
Awesome!. Had lunch here a few times. Great place and staff. Must try their fried chicken curry and the salmon and scallops on rice. Really yum!
Miss Mel
All yammy dishes in an affordable price! Strongly recommend it!!!!

OMG! Great food and awesome service. For a 'cafe-style' restaurant it is beyond expectations!

1) Service is great
2) Interior is quaint - you feel as if you were in a Japanese or South Korean local restaurant
3) Food is fantastic. I had a pork curry, which was beautifully presented.
4) Attention to detail - everything, from the way your entree is served to how your tea is decorated.

Another great addition to Burke Rd!
Bwchauffeuredcars
Yummy. Great food, do yourself a favour and try the green tea ice cream.

Very cozy and welcoming service. Food is good
service is even better
We had a really good time this afternoon

Tasty, good value, excellent food and friendly service!!. Getting very busy at night but still too quiet during the day! One of the best fried chicken, not oil and tasty. Their sushi rolls are so tasty and freshly made - Prefer the fresh salmon to the canned tuna. Very different to the Japanese ones. Try any of their set rice meals and you will not be disappointed! Why cook when you can have a good meal for two for less than $30! Cheryl

Delicious after Saturday movie. Very delicious, quick but not too quick. Prawn and squid on rice was tasty, light and just spicy enough, beef curry also light and tasty and the best of all was the entree of gyoza which was beautiful with the side dipping sauce. Very engaging waitress. Very pleased with our decision to try it out and will definitely return soon.
Georgia Bridgeman
Great food, great service!. The other weekend I called up last minute to book a table for my family and had absolutely no troubles. Upon arrival I realised it was the chef (unfortunately did not catch his name!) who I had talked to on the phone and he happily greeted me on a first-name basis and did so during and after the meal as well. The waiting staff member was also very friendly and helpful. And of course, the food was absolutely delicious, with every single one of us being satisfied with our dishes. For the record, the sukiyaki is a winner :)
Very reasonably priced, lovely food and good service make for a happy diner.

Super friendly staff, great prices and most importantly magnificent food. Would happily pay twice as much (but don't tell them that)

Delicious, small and friendly!. This tiny little restaurant is such a gem, i wish i'd found it before!
the first time going, i went in a group of three and between us we shared the beef udon, the teriyaki chicken set and a rice dish. ended up very full indeed. the beef udon was a tad too sweet for me but nice and spicy, and i'd highly recommend any of the sets, they come with a tempura prawn, edamame and a gorgeous salad. very nicely presented too!
second time ordered the bulgogi set and the small korean herb fried chicken. no complaints at all, it was all immaculately presented and tasted incredible!! the staff were also super friendly on both accounts, it was a pleasure to go there, i'll be heading there soon! cant recommend this place enough!
Molly Baulch
Cheap, tasty and fun!. Went with three friends for dinner and drinks on a Friday night. We booked about an hour before hand which I would recommend as the dining room is quite small. I was worried about the feel of it but on the tables were full with music playing, a lovely friendly hostess and an open kitchen all creating a nice vibe.
We had crispy chicken sets, the chilli and miso, and the chilli tofu ramen - all were tasty and a bargain! The chicken sets came with a crispy fried prawn which was a nice touch!
Waitress recommended us to a trendy wine shop just up the road to stock up for the $2.50/head BYO charge.
Such a fun, cheap night and I plan on going back and trying the curry as soon as I can!

Taste and service for less. So impressed with this little gem in Camberwell!
We went last night for a 7.30 booking and found our name on the table which we were referred to each time we were served making it a personal experience. The service was SO quick but what we could get over was how AMAZING the food was and how CHEAP it was too. One of the best salmon and scallop sashimi i have ever eaten. Worth a weekly date night or take out!
Matgoh
What a little gem!. Extremely happy to have stumbled upon this little beauty in Camberwell! All the dishes we ordered were not only well presented but the whole lot was tasty, from the tuna seaweed salad to the fried chicken, scallops, beef udon and fried tofu. And service was warm and friendly and dishes were very reasonably priced! Will be back here again in no time!
LindaDiosa
Amazingly tasty food together with a friendly and very attentive service made my dinner experience a really enjoyable one. Highly recommended!!

Keep up the good work chef Jay!!!! We really loved the foods and thanks for your wife's wonderful service!!!!

Tiffany & family

We went there last week after the Adelaide crows beat Collingwood at the MCG. Didn't think it could get any better than that, but this food was bloody fantastic thank you. We'll be back whenever we are in Melbourne visiting our friends in Camberwell

2015. Back again this year to see the crows beat the dogs. Had a takeaway gyoza and ginger pork belly. Again excellent. Will return next week to see the crows play Hawthorn. Sensational food thank you

Game in 2017, sadly the crows got beaten by the Tigers in the grand final but we have had a lovely lovely meal here again. So much to love about this small local Japanese Korean restaurant. BYO please keep supporting these wonderful people
Caroline Beaney
Great sushi!. It's very good! The sushi is nice and fresh. I love the grilled bit of salmon on top of the sushi as well. I would strongly recommend the Snow Mountain sushi with salmon, avocado and grilled salmon.
Michelle
Nice food with thoughtful service! Good value as well.

Salmon Volcano and Korean Herb Fried Chicken. Perfect Dish to share
Don Grigorio
Simple decor stunning food. This small restaurant in Burke Road is a sensational find. What lies behind the simple decor is sensational food that is such good value. I have been back three times now and each time the food is the highlight. Taking influence from Korea and Japan it is flavorsome and really well presented.
You get the impression that it is all being prepared by the chef on the spot. Snow Mountain sushi was so fresh, the Korean Herb fried chicken demanded a second serving and the chefs take on Ginger Pork Belly was equal to what I have had in other restaurants at 3 times the price. It is all worth a try and I have never been disappointed.
Service is terrific and our waitress Sharon was so professional and friendly and guided us through the menu options. It's BYO which makes this place a great night out. Give it a go - it exceeds expectations.

We had a delicious and great value lunch a Kopan Grill today. The Volcano Sushi, Salmon & Scallop Sashimi plate and Herb Fried Chicken were very tasty starters and perfect for sharing.

My main was the Ginger Pork Belly with steamed rice - yum!!!!! My companions ordered a variety of meat and seafood dishes, all of them looked fresh and I was assured they tasted great! My vegetarian friend was well catered for with a large variety of suitable dishes.

Our meal was concluded was a glass of Korean Citron Tea which was a lovely warm, sweet and soothing drink, perfect for cleansing our palate at the end of the lunch.

Highly recommend this restaurant for a cheap and cheerful lunch or dinner!! Great service, great value and most importantly - delicious food!!!

A+!

Phenomenal Korean food!. Fantastic Korean food in a family run restaurant. Must try the fried chicken and the salmon and scallop sashimi.
Reasonable prices and excellent service.
Get here before the crowds find it!

Highly recommended. Good price + friendly service + fresh ingredients + lovely presentation = good find. Very happy with our Kopan experience. Definitely returning.

Fantastic Fusion Korean food! Definitely will visit again with my dear family and friends!
James Cole
Very solid. Cheap, quality takeaway. Quick and excellent service. Proper vegetarian options. This place deserves attention and for under $10 a main this is where I go when I'm immediately hungry and can't be bothered cooking.
Amy
Quickly became a regular after first visit! Amazingly tasty food with the finesse that's rare in Asian cuisine, and best of all very reasonably priced. A must try!
Ben Yap
Ive been to kopan grill about 4 times now. Have tried their bulgogi sets, beef udon and korean herb fried chicken! Prices are very reasonable and service is good and attentive. I highly recommend this place for a quick eat during lunch or dinner! Dinner can be quite packed now as this place is getting popular!
Guli Noza
We were just truly amazed by delicious food and great warm service. Me, my husband and our daughter loved every single bite. We are coming back with a large group of friends.
Sabrina Sim
Truly enjoyable. There were 7 of us; we got the chance to order and tried 7 dishes. That's our first visit and we were impressed. We ordered both the sizzler dishes but prefer the beef than the pork. The beef sizzler and volcano sushi were good and were our favourites. Beef udon didn't look so impressive compare to other dishes but surprisingly yummy! Customer service was fantastic. Friendly and polite. They (chef & lady) were more like a great host in a Korean house than dining out at a restaurant. Value was great too! Definitely will go back again.

Small place, reservation is highly recommended.
Victor Lim
Fresh and flavoursome. The grilled sushi were fabulicious. The service was good and the chef came out to have a chat with us wanting to know how was our experience and the food. We have had a great evening as the food we tasted were all made with really fresh and had lots of flavour. Would definitely recommend to friends and will return to try out more on their menu.

Kopan Grill is definitely one of our favourite haunts and a weekly must-have for us. It is more than just going to a restaurant, it's like visiting friends. No rules, no pish posh. Just warm, friendly service from the chef and his wife. The food tastes like (or better than!) what you'd find at a top notch Korean restaurant and presented as such. A well thought out menu and an ever changing blackboard of specials means that there's always something different, even if you visit weekly like us.
Simply put, we love it.
Mike_3101
Just keeps getting better. We come here all the time and love it - family favourite. Jae is wonderfully hospitable, and cooks you a top-shelf meal for a family dining price. Want to see what I mean? Order the beef udon: the broth has extraordinary depth and character - it's not from some mix. Also recommend the Korean fried chicken, nasu dengaku (roast eggplant), the sushi, all the main sets (especially Bulgogi and red crispy chicken) and prawn katsu. It's modest in feel and decor, but a true gem for food and service.
Health And Coffee
FANTASTIC addition to Camberwell!. We tried this new restaurant a couple of nights ago and were so pleasantly surprised by the experience! The service was fast and efficient, the food was fresh and tasty and the chef was super friendly and eager for feedback! Highly recommended!

Great food! fantastic staff. Kopan Grill food is just delicious the snow mountain tuna and crab meat is a MUST have! we shared this but I could eat the large dish on my own! I also had the Teriyaki Chicken set and my husband had the Bulgogi set which are both a palates delight! also tried the special which is the pork belly in ginger sauce, I could have just about everything on the menu and the price is so cheap, I cannot believe it. I wish I have taken photos. I will! next time as the presentation is just so appetising. Wonderful find I will return to try more on the menu..I would recommend it with no hesitation and the staff is just as beautiful and friendly and attentive.. Thanks Sharon and Katie

Thoughtful Chef and Delicious Meal. Tasty and yummy food. Cheap meals with authentic food. Nice atmosphere too. Will recommend to others. And Chef was friendly and thoughtful about the door as he thought we were cold (he asked if we wanted to close the door due to the wind). I will return.

Best korean meal...... Best korean food we've eaten. Very affordable and friendly and attentive staff.
SRYeoh
Very friendly staff and exceptional service. When they ran out of a certain ingredient that was needed for our dish, the chef came out himself to apologize and recommended an alternative and may I say... *DELICIOUS* dish and charged us for a small even though he served a large ..we would have been happy to pay the price of a large.. but his gesture was amazing and appreciated. Definitely will come back and highly recommend this place if you want something YUMMY and inexpensive! A++++

Throughly impressed. I've been to Kopan Grill twice now, both times with two other people and so have tried many of their dishes.

The restaurant is a fusion of Korean and Japanese foods. Their specialty is Bulgogi a grilled marinated beef dish served with plenty of veges. I have also tried the beef udon and agedashi tofu udon noodle soups. Both come with a generous amount of delicious udon noodles in a hot and very tasty broth. For those that like curry- the Kopan curry is sweeter than most curries I have had before (apparently it contains apple cider), I had the tofu and veggie curry which was just as generous and delicious as the other items mentioned.
They also have 'grilled sushi' which is like normal sushi with grilled fish on top. I have tried the tuna and salmon variety, with the salmon being my preference.
For those with a sweet tooth the citron tea (which we were given to try the first time we visited) is a deliciously sweet hot beverage with a citrus flavour that seems to be made by some combination of candied citrus fruits, honey and hot tea and is definitely worth a try.

To top off the great food the service has been excellent on both visits. They were extremely attentive and incredibly friendly. Each time we were there the chef/owner came to our table to chat and answer any questions about the menu.

I've been thoroughly impressed with the experience each time and hope to visit many more times in the future.

Fresh, tasty and well priced. Tried this new restaurant and really loved the flavours, freshness, and value for money. I think the owner is the chef. The food is ample and the quality is high.

Kopan Grill , a family owned & operated restaurant, opened up a few months ago very close to the Camberwell train station. We tried it out last month and were thoroughly impressed that such an amazing Korean & Japanese place is within walking distance from our humble abode. We stopped there for lunch but look forward to returning to try their grilled sushi which is meant to be amazing but is currently only available on their dinner menu.
