Review Chan Korean Cuisine - Camberwell

Paul Snow
Was pleasantly surprised by the flavoursome food. Great staff, the atmosphere is friendly, and the food was delicious. Will be back to try more dishes.

delicious authentic Korea dishes, The chicken was our favourite and bibimbap is one of the best in Melbourne 😊 Also those homemade side dishes are amazing as well as those soups they sell in freezer section! we travelled all the way from Eastern side to here for good korean food 💕 Thanks team 고맙습니다 💕

Wonderful, simple Korean cafe opposite the municipal buildings in Camberwell. Food is tasty, and authentic. Service is fast and efficient. A great place to try some flavoursome Korean favourites without. Reading the budget.

Yummy food and a huge variety of banchan to take home! Very friendly service. I'm so happy to find this shop!

Authentic home cooked Korean dishes, never leaves you feeling bloated or msg ridden. Service is friendly and reserved. Does not come with condiments like kimchi as standard
OzMomo Chan
Authentic Korean food at reasonable price. Eat in or takeaway. Also sells take home packs of side dishes and kimchi. Minus one star for the lack of smile and enthusiasm from the server that was taking orders.

Highly recommended. This place serves great pre-made take-home meals. Some of the best marinated beef short ribs ever. Lots of entrees and assorted pickles available. The homemade kimchi is amazing. Delightful owner and very proud of their offerings.

Chan Korean Cuisine was another one of those "looks can be deceiving" sort of joint. Don’t be fooled by its underwhelming presentation.

This place served up authentic Korean food. So many words can be used to describe their offerings: scrumptious, wholesome, tasty, homemade and flavoursome. They have all the classic Korean dishes and so far they never disappoint.

There were plenty of well-portioned takeaway packs ready for sale. Everything was reasonably priced. We will be back.

📍Location: 383-385 Camberwell Rd, Camberwell,VIC 3124
🖼Ambience: Relaxing ambience as we sat outside watching people drive home.
👨🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳Staffs : Friendly staff
🍲Food: We ordered the following:
1. Pork Bulgogi which my husband ordered and we loved its flavor along with a side salad and rice. I would recommend go for pork bulgogi over beef if you’re ok to have pork.
2. Beef Bulgogi which I ordered and i loved it too, it had its flavors with a touch of sweetness from its broth along with its side salad and rice
✅Overall: 5/5 rating for the best ever bulgogis i had, must try if ur a korean Bulgogi fan !

Simple authentic homely Korean food that will be sure to satisfy your cravings. We tried their gimbap and it was delish! Took me back to the streets of Seoul! They also sell frozen homecooked soups, kimchi and banchan that you can take home to enjoy with your meal. The service was not 100% but the food makes up for it!

Went there for lunch. Simple and clean décor with fridges packed full with plastic containers of kimchi and other Korean goodies to take-away. The ordering format is akin to a fast food restaurant, but that is where the comparison ends. You order at the cash register, pay, and take a table number. You can help yourself to chilled water from the fridge. With mains at about $12, we were not sure of the size, so we ordered entrees of Chicken Gangjeon which was delicious and just spicy enough. For mains, we had Beef Bulgogi and Chicken Teriyaki which were both served with steamed rice and a light leafy salad. We need not have worried. The mains were more than enough, and the entrees were an over-indulgence. We will return to try some of the other dishes. We went at about midday and by the time we left the pace was filling up.

Nice restaurant, not too crowded (probably because not a lot of people know about this place)
Food here is good, their fried chicken was delicious, crispy and the sauce was just right! Ordered two different types of stew, and the stew amount was generous (some places, the stone pot is only 60% full) so I was content here.
Only sad thing is their opening hours are not long and closes fairly early.

Will definitely be back soon!

Tasty, uncomplicated collection of Korean staples. Solid gimbap and mandu. Warming and hearty kimchi jigae. Great selection of takeaway kimchi and banchan at a reasonable price too.

Kimbab was really delicious. And the jjolmyeun were delicious. But other foods are below average. Especially Kalguksu was very disappointed. Sometimes it would be nice to visit when you want to eat a light meal.
Melbourne Food Journey
Great Korean food, definitely a cut above other Korean restaurants in Melbourne. Their bibimbap is authentic and well seasoned. I like their chicken teriyaki with salad, it had good flavour. Will return!

Our Family Favourite Korean Restaurant in Camberwell. Price is affordable, restaurant is clean, and food is authentic. Recomendation menu are Grill Salmon, Spicy Pork Bulgogi, Chicken Gangjeong (sweet chilli chicken) and Kimchi Jigae. However they don't have delivery services, hopefully they will do this in the future.
Lovely little Korean place (recently moved up a few doors, now bigger and nicer space) - had lunch there with my son. Food was delicious and authentic, service was lovely. I had the beef bulgogi and my son had the salmon teriyaki and we both loved it. Great little local place, will definitely be back.

Love this quaint and authentic Korean restaurant. They moved a couple stores down and now have a bigger dining space with modern interior- loving it! Always keep coming back for their affordable and delicious dishes.

Ate the chicken teriyaki with rice- came with a generous serving of rice, a large portion of tender and juicy chicken soaking in a sticky teriyaki sauce with some greens on the side.

Fair sizes for the quality and price of the dish, what I love best about the restaurant. As a local, I love buying takeaway from here too.

Came here on my work break because I was craving Jjolmyeon and wow! Was delighted by the authenticity, flavour, portion size and service. Hidden gem in Camberwell - would go here for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I lived in the area. The lovely Korean home-cooks even sell a range of kimchis, frozen dumplings and marinated meats for guests to have Korean cuisine in their own homes!

Went here for lunch today. Chan offers exceptional food at the price point! I ordered the beef bulgogi with rice and didn't expect much from it but turns out they are very generous with the beef. Also tried the fried chicken and it was fantastic! Amazing flavours as well! Don't have a lot to say other than that. Very satisfied customer and definitely a new regular!

Fantastic home-made food, you can clearly see the effort they put in to making everything which is demonstrated by their massive kitchen. Would go again

You can definitely feel the love they put in the food when you are tasting their meals. Home cook method with no MSG. Service is good as well :) However on the portion... lol.

This quaint restaurant is a favourite of mine whenever I want home-cooked style Korean food. The menu will cater to any palate and the quality of food will not disappoint. Deep fried chicken, beef and pork bulgogi sets and dokboki are must try dishes. It also sells a very large selection of Korean side dishes (banchan) which is perfect for those who have busy lives. Staff are always friendly and the restaurant gets very busy during lunch times. Two thumbs up from me!

Came here with the owner's son Matthew, recommending this Korean restaurant to try its delicious, mouth watering food. It is definitely one of the best Asian restaurants i have been to with the customer service being top notch, with its food being top notch as well. i definitely recommend this place to other people who are keen on finding a restaurant with genuine, authentic Korean food.

After your meal, you can also take Korean side dishes, Korean Dumplings (Mandu) and various other dishes. If you're nearby or happen to see it along your way home, definitely stop by and have a meal

Delicious home-cooking Korean dishes.. Their dumplings (home-made, of course), are the bomb: Juicy, plump, & generous size... You can even buy them frozen to take home & add to your Korean instant noodle soup when at home & too lazy to go out for a meal. They also sell a variety of Korean side dishes. Friendly service, prices are decent, nice small little Korean place that will not disappoint.

Had a take away teriyaki tofu and some beef dish the other day, it was hot, inexpensive and balance of flavours where spot on! Great little Korean food joint that doesn't over complicate it and offers an awesome array of take home meals and ingredients! Big thumbs up! 😀

Super cute shop! Really nice owners! The korean fried chicken was beautifully cooked and the bibimbap was very tasty. Lots of takeaway options as well. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a delicious and casual korean meal.

This is the best food you're going to find in Camberwell at the best price.

Keep it up. thanks!

Korean comfort food. I'm from Korea and Chan is the place I go when I miss my home country's food. Every food on the menu is good here, really (but some can be spicy as typical korean food so ask if you're not sure). I heard the owner at Chan used to be the original owner of the CJ lunch bar in CBD. I usually go there for lunch, and always grab some side dishes as well. As a korean, I know how long it takes to make those side dishes! So it's great to know I can have a taste of home country and get my comfort food without spending too much time and effort in making it. Their mandoo (korean dumpling) and donkatsu are pretty good as well (they are in the fridge). I also like that their food is clean, no MSG, just like homemade food. I'm happy to live close by and grateful to the owner for feeding us with good food!

Awesome little Korean lunch joint. Come here for a small selection of classic, well-executed Korean fare at bargain prices. yum. And you can head off with a bulk pack of Kim chi, dried squid or chicken 'curlet' from the fridges if the mood takes you. Run and frequented by Koreans by the look, right down to the squealing child under my table.

YAY! I found Korean place for lunch in Camberwell. Had the spicy pork belly for lunch. It was quiet delicious, a tad too salty for my liking bit when I had it with the salad it balanced it out. I don't know what that dressing on the salad was but omg YUM. There were black sesame seeds on it. Lunch for under 10 bucks in Camberwell AWESOME. I loved that you can buy side dishes to take home as well. I bought some kimchi and some raddish kimchi. I will definitely be back
