Review Goodness Gracious Cafe - Camberwell

Cozy, homey atmosphere. Coffee was made very well. The vanilla slice was as delicious as promised. Also ordered a shepherd’s pie which was good - nice pastry, though could have been heated a bit more. Friendly workers, fast service, and decent prices. Will definitely be returning :)

Honestly i was expecting alot better quality. I order a mushrooms pie, it was just mince pie and a few slices of mushroom very ordinary and on top of that it was microwave leaving the pie soggy and warm not freshly baked. I did ask for tomato sauce unaware that it wasn't going to be in a sqeeze packet it was all over the pie and put into a paper bag which added to the soggyness of the microwaved pie. The pie wasn't hot and the friand had been refrigerated and was cold and hard. Overall i wasn't impressed and won't be going back. Disappointing because all the food looked good in the glass window.

One of the greatest perks when I accompany my client to shop is that we get to explore nearby coffee places! We went to Coles and spotted this cafe accross. We saw their sign that they have really good Vanilla Slices so we ordered for it along with my Hot Chocolate and her usual Cappuccino. I tell you, the Vanilla Slices are big! It is so much worth more than it costs. It is tasty and velvety. It completely complements our drink. They have a variety of pastries and hot foods to try. It's such a cozy place, too!

This is great little cafe in (South) Camberwell on Riversdale Road. Very friendly service and great coffee. A smile is always waiting, even at 7am in the midst of Winter.

Breakfast and coffee. Delicious scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, tasty bacon and tomato on toast. Service from happy people - and quicker than Maccas 👍☺️

Have been going to Goodness Gracious for many years for genuine and friendly service and recently had a party catered for. The fresh, mostly home made food was delicious and very well priced. The catering menu would suit any occasion and Fairlie and staff so helpful... The home made quiches are wonderful too and great for a quick dinner. Naturally the vanilla slices starred!

The service wasn’t good, the female staff rushed me to order. Got an iced chocolate which was way too sweet. I normally don’t like ice cream in my drink but I wasn’t aware when I ordered the drink, after the ice cream melted the drink became more sweet. The vanilla slice was good though.

I have been going to Goodness Gracious cafe for about 2 months now, because it is close to the office I work in. After the service today I will not be returning. I went in to order a sandwich and was asked if I wanted any meat at the beginning. As the woman was adding the salads I said, oh is that chicken, she responded saying yes and I then asked if I could have some chicken on my sandwich. She looked up at me and said ‘I already asked if you wanted any meat’ and laughed sarcastically. I was shocked, I knew she had asked but I had changed my mind. It was just really poor customer service and wasn’t at all appreciated.

This cafe is in Middle Camberwell just near the Woolworths supermarket. They are dog friendly - the lady who served us brought the dog a bowl of water and a doggie treat.
The staff were friendly and patient. (We were indecisive about which of the great looking gourmet pies we should try!)
I'm a fan of chicken pies, not meat and there were several varieties; thai curry, chicken and mushroom, chicken and leek & butter chicken. I went with the chicken and mushroom and it was fabulous. Really flavoursome of plenty of chicken breast meat. I'd happily return to try others.
I noticed they do gourmet sandwiches and lots of other homemade looking patties and meatballs, for example.
My companion had the beef burgundy pie, one of their best sellers and she was impressed.
We also enjoyed a great coffee and their award winning vanilla slice. The custard was a pale colour with a creamy taste and texture and thankfully not too sweet.
The staff (I assume they own the business, just struck me that way) were excellent. Very friendly and obviously have a good rapport with their local regulars.

This is a hidden gem in the middle camberwell precinct near the Woolworths. Although I haven't eaten here, the coffee was great, the staff were friendly and the place was filled with locals who seemed to have built quite a rapport with the staff

Good food, friendly relaxed service and great coffee. GG has been a favourite cafe in middle Camberwell for many years. It caters for a broad demographic and has the reputation of having the best Vanilla Slice in the world!
