Review Daruma Japanese Kitchen - Camberwell

Came and ordered 2 sushi rolls and 2 scallop nigiri. The staff squished and piled them all in a tiny box that they were all out of shape….. I have ordered soft shell crab sushi roll but was given squid which I am allergic to. This can cause really dangerous consequences to customers…..

Ordered a sushi platter and was very satisfied with the quality and portions. $42 for the deluxe sashimi platter! Regular sushi rolls are the usual you’d get from any sushi takeaway in Melb.

Too expensive for a small sushi roll. $4 each and the quality was bad. Poor rolling so it fell apart while eating and the seasoning was not tasty, nor was the texture. Very average and will not go back as unfortunately they don’t do sushi well at all.

I visited Melbourne in February & went to shops at Camberwell On passing Sushi Sushi I bought takeaway Few hours after I was so sick which continued well after I arrived back into Qld 5 days later On going to my doctor he confirmed I had food poisoning & advised me sushi MUST be eaten within 6 hours of making Was a dreadful experience!!

Says open at 8am, walk in at 9:15am and was told that you’re not ready. Not a single sushi put out for sale. Please do not put up false advertisement of business hours. This is not the first time. It’s been multiple occasions of which I’ve visited past 9am when it clearly says on your door that you open at 8am. I keep coming back cause most of the ladies who serve in the afternoons are so lovely. But the guys in the morning who turn me away always leave me feeling like I’m intruding. I’ve worked in retail for a long time. I know how it feels like when people come in when you’re not ready. But i was there more than an hour after the advertised opening hour. Please do something about this. The service and quality of food used to be good.

Clean, fresh and delicious sushi. Are one of the only healthy varieties of food available for lunch if you aren't interested in sitting in a cafe. They freshly make their sushi daily and are happy to accomodate your requests if you are happy to wait. (Will make up a sushi roll just for you). Although the prices have increased, so has the quality and variety available so you cant complain. I could happily eat this for lunch everyday with a smile on my face. Shoutout to one of their employee's Wei, who is always smiling and happy to serve you!
