Review Infuzions - Cammeray

JLW Wong
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. One of the best Thai in Sydney.

Some of the most disappointing Thai food I have had in a while. It was all just mhhhh Doughy non fluffy curry puffs with what amounted to a single pea of stuffing. What I can only assume was defrosted salmon in the Salmon larb. The vegetable green and red curries were flavourless with rubbery duck and what can only be creatively described as vegetables. The service was lovely but if you actually want some tasty food go elsewhere.

We visited this long-standing place years ago when it first opened-up and did promo on Entertainment Book. Back then, the place specialized in modern look, fusion Asian dishes based on Thai cuisines and fancy looking Asian-style desserts. Though the dishes' quality were not bad, we prefer more authentic Thai staples so we haven't visited the place for years. However, recently we visited Cammeray to shop on a weekend and had a quick lunch here. They have very good-value lunch menu to choose from where most dishes are priced between $10-$13 depending on protein type choice. We ordered three dishes i.e. beef soy-sauce stir-fried rice noodle (<i>pad see ew nuea</i>), rice w/ stir-fried beef in chilli jam sauce + cashew nuts and a selection of steam dumplings (six items incl 2 each of crab dumpling, prawn <i>har-gow</i> dumpling and chicken <i>khnm cīb</i> dumpling) as side-dish. All dishes were prepared with nice professional restaurant presentation and taste nice and authentic Thai. The stir-fried dishes have nice <i>wok hei</i> aroma and we love the rice noodle the best which came not only with generous serving of beef, but also creamy stir-fried egg. The rice dish was also nice with generous portion and included good portion of various vegetables. However, we thought that the sauce was a bit too sweet. The dumplings were also nice addition to our lunch experience. We spent $30 for such nice lunch experience, an excellent value you hardly can find nowadays in Sydney. Though look a bit older than its golden days, the place still has good decor, warm lighting and equipped with nice cold A/C for hot, humid summer days. The service from floor staff was wonderful and they will try their best to please you. We asked for a bit of chopped chilli and they gave us the hot version of <b>serious Thai chillies</b> to enjoy with our rice and noodle dishes. It is rare to find such authentic Thai place in a suburb like Cammeray whose demographic profile dominated by European-based community. You can pay by credit cards with no additional surcharge, which is a great customer service practice. After a second visit for quick lunch again, I can say this place is really <b>the best value Thai lunch options, north of Sydney Harbour Bridge</b>. Their drunken noodle (<i>pad kee maw</i>) and grilled pork skewers (<i>moo ping</i>) are a must order if you want to get a filling, satisfying lunch and paying just below $10.

This is the first one star review I gave out because I had stomach after the food which cause diarrhea! 😡😡😡Absolutely unacceptable! We Randomly walked in to have some food. Ordered salt pepper squid, * Moo pork skewers, beef curry and rice. The salt pepper squid wasn’t fresh at all and it was definitely under cooked!

I had a team dinner party in this restaurant 2weeks ago and i can assure you the service was amazingly top notch, they welcome us with beautiful entrees and my favourite was salt and pepper softshell crab. For the main, i love the lamb shank. It was melting in my mouth. I definitely will come back. Love it!!!

Great foof that is clever and interesting. Great atmosphere and very good value for money. Go to Infuzions to have a few drinks and a couple of tapas or go to Infuzions to have a feast. They have options for all.

During iso we were able to celebrate our eldest son's 18th birthday. Food and drinks were excellent. Prawn dumplings were our kids favourite 😊

The decor and ambiance of Infuzions was very hip, and their menu provided a great range of food. This was one of the only times I saw massamung curry on the menu that was vegetarian, so that was my choice. Unfortunately though I didn’t enjoy my dish - the curry was good but the texture of squash didn’t go well with it - maybe swap it out with potatoes instead? Would like to go again and try another dish, but was slightly turned off from the squash!

Excellent menu. Very different from your average Thai. This is a classy menu and I would encourage you to experiment with new dishes. It's fantastic if you are GF as it caters for you big time! I have been many times now and have NEVER had a bad meal! The lobster pad Thai is a favourite along with the slow cooked pork belly! BYO and licenced so do yourself a favour and give this great restaurant a try!! 5 stars and well priced. Can get busy at night so book soon Macca

slow service ... girl was so nice but had limited English ... salt and pepper squid was as tough as garden hose ... one of our group's main meals came 25 mins after everyone else's ... sorry, not coming back

It departs from the normal Thai cuisine but the dishes are a hot and miss. More sour and spiciness may give it a more authentic tadte.

Absolutely amazing! Dumplings were to die for !! Service excellent!

Loved everything about this place. Deserts were 5 stars.

Not your run of the mill Thai place... Impressive menu with classics as well as modern interesting dishes, attentive staff, good atmosphere and great value. We have taken friends here who normally don't enjoy Thai food and they love it here.

Fabulous as always in every measure. If you can leave a place feeling better than you went in then you know it's good!!! FYI..Catalina Sounds Sauv Blanc goes with everything on the Menu.

While you're eating here you find yourself using words like ''Taste sensation'', ''incredible'', ''cooked to perfection'', ''amazing'' etc. But in your excitement about the taste you find yourself telling people ''you have to try this'' then regretting it because you don't want to spare a single bite.

Ordered takeaway on Saturday night however when I got back to my friend's house we realised that the main item 'red curry with prawns' was missing.  I called them and argued that I had not received it and they said they would "re-make" the order.  I collected it 10 mins later, divided up the pathetically small portion (5 prawns between 3 of us) and all was well until the 3 of us were all sick a few hours later!

Food is fantastic and decor and place is nice and buzzing.<br/><br/>I have been here 6 times of which service has been extremely poor and staff quite rude 5 out of 6 times. Unfortunately this means I will not return.<br/><br/>It is a real shame as I live in Cammeray.

Worst Asian meal I gave had in Sydney for many years. Lift your game north shore! Lots of carrots! Salt and copious quantities of oyster sauce on steamed broccoli! Ugh!

Chicken Pad Thai is 10/10 - chicken cashew is also amazing! Soft Shell Crab not the greatest 😔 but all in all amazing food! Would definitely go back for the Pad Thai ! 😋 Shaw and Smith white wine is delicious and fruity !

Considering I live Cammeray I only visit Infuzions about once a year. Each visit I am blown away by the flavours and the well presented but always leave feeling hungry and paying too much. The front section of the restaurant is very loud we asked to sit out the back and was seated facing a big dark black wall, service was quite slow too. Probably won't be back for another year.

I love Infuzions. We frequently visited when we lived in Sydney so while here for the weekend, well...why not?!<br/><br/>We had to go for takeaway as there's a 4month old in a pram and thought this would be much easier!<br/><br/>Entrees consisted of prawn dumplings, salt and pepper squid, chilli prawns and chicken skewers. All great but dumplings definitely stood out!<br/><br/>For mains we ordered the massamam beef, crispy pork belly, chicken pad Thai and chicken cashew nut. The beef was the star performer here. Thought good, there were way too many noodles in that pad thai. The other two dishes were both good too.<br/><br/>I've been here maybe 6 or 7 times in the past ~2 years. The staff are all great and if it weren't for living in Melbourne, I would visit much more frequently.

Desserts. Infuzions is a typical mod-Asian restaurant, serving contemporary Thai fusion in a sleek, dark space. The salmon larb, duck curry and pad Kee Mao were great. Skip the white rice in favour of the spiced rice, you won't regret it. But don't bother with the "roti" - we're convinced they just slice up mountain bread or Lebanese bread. <br/>The dessert menu had some unique offerings. We chose the goblet filled with a brownie, strawberry slices, three scoops of ice cream and topped with a spun sugar crown. It looked as impressive as it sounds, and delicious to boot. The ice cream flavours appear to vary - we chose jackfruit, palm sugar and green apple. I thought they were all excellent and surprisingly, not too sweet.<br/>Service is a mixed bag. Our first waitress was enthusiastic and friendly; the other one who took our dessert orders was less so and didn't know what a mocha was even though it was on the menu.

Always great quality food. The friendly attentive staff make it a pleasurable dining experience. Don't miss the amazing desserts, my favourite is the one with the sugar spun crown, a treat to behold.

Infusions is consistently a great restaurant and without doubt one of my favourite local and city restaurants. Very good Thai cuisine, super friendly and caring staff
Raquel
Good local dinner option. We ́ve been to Infuzions twice. As a couple and with friends.<br/>Both times the same waiter has served us friendly and kindly.<br/>Food is a good fusion of thai, modern cuisine and curries.<br/>BYO is a good choice specially when there is a bottle o right next to the restaurant! There is a carpark behind the restaurant and the bus stop is one step outside the place.
Felicity
We had a family function here for 20 people. Was so easy to organize via email. It felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Everyone loved the variety & quantity of foods served & the staff were so attentive. Thank you Infuzions for making our function a breeze to organize & a big success!

Terrible Service- Average Food. What a pity. This place really thinks its the best when in actual fact its arrongant and pompus.<br/><br/>A shame the service wasn't friendly to us particularily by their senior staff who was dismissive and full of himself. As for the food, one dish was good the rest very, very average; no real depth in flavour with the curry being more of a soup with a few bits in it. A bit pricey but my main grip is with the way the front of house seemed so poorly run.
Mark From Killarney Heights
Very Good. This is an excellent restaurant in more ways than one. The menu offers an excellent range, the portions of tapas being adjusted to suit the number of people at the table. The flavours are varied and I have not had a meal where the flavours crossed over. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. It is one of the few places where we leave a tip. Go because its really good.

Mediocre. Food - 5/10,<br/><br/>Ambiance - 8/10, <br/><br/>Service - 4/10, <br/><br/>Value - 6/10.<br/> <br/>We arrived here after walking past this newish Chinese/Thai restaurant on Miller Street, and decided to give it a try. The place looks great but the service is average. We ordered 2 entrees, 1 asian pan and 1 curry. They were all pretty average, and poor considering the superior surrounding restaurants. The curry was runny, not rich or flavoursome and oily. The rest didn't taste fresh at all. The meat was chewy and the accompanying vegies over cooked. A major disappointment.
Nicole
I really wanted to like this place and hate to leave negative reviews but our experience was a pretty poor one. After a recommendation and reading the reviews on here we were keen to give it a go. The decor was nice and as the restaurant filled up the vibe improved. Service was pretty dismal, not a lot of care factor, no offers of more drinks and it took a long time to get their attention for extra rice (which we had to ask for twice) and the bill. All would be forgiven if the food was great but it too was fairly average. Prawn dumplings for entree were nice enough. Yum cha style but a little tough. The red curry didn't have a great depth of flavour and there was far more sauce than vegies or meat. Highlight of the mains was the soft shell crab but even that didn't live up to expectation. Their impressive dessert menu was a key reason we booked but they didn't have the one we had our hearts set on. Maybe we caught them on a bad night but based on the food and service we experienced, I wouldn't recommend a visit here.

Best in Cammeray. Having tried most of the restaurants in Cammeray, Infuzions wins hands down.<br/>After friends recommended it to us, we were cautious, expecting a hefty bill, but we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the food prices were. Not only was the food beautifully presented by attentive yet non intrusive staff, it was very fresh and very tasty. When food tastes this good and is presented by people who obviously love what they do, it makes a difference to the whole dining experience! The decor of the restaurant is also unique and interesting. It doesn't try to look like or copy any other restaurant, and the layout is extremely comfortable & relaxing. Cant wait to return to try more of the menu. 10/10

Went for mates bday for lunch we chose from the yum cha menu.the food was amazing all brought out at a good pace.great service and for all the dishes we had incl dessert (which was delicious) not too expensive would live to come back and sample the dinner menu

I think some of these reviews are from neighbouring restaurants. My friends, family and I thoroughly enjoy eating at Infusions. The restaurant has beautiful cuisine, an extraordinary interior, conversational staff and these combine to make the restaurant the perfect location to catch up with friends, have a family gathering, business meeting or date. The food is scrumptious, inexpensive and looks wonderful. The toilets are clean too! 10 out of 10 every time.

Not great in Cammeray. This place describes itself as Thai/ Malaysian. I know my Malaysian food very well and I can honestly say that the dishes here are Not Malaysian. The food seems to be a magpie of Chinasian plus Thai. We found the dishes lacking in depth of flavour and authenticity. 5/10.
Libby
Not Good. Came here after reading the reviews and did not think this restaurant was that great. The food was ok but what let this place down was the service. Painfully slow is what I would call it. The attitude from the management staff too was indifferent and snoby (we're the best and don't care). It's not good from the customer's point of view and they should do something about it. FYI; There are loads of great eateries around but this is not one of them!

Saturday night 8 of us for my wife's birthday. Great service & food with extensive menu. Very reasonably priced for the quality and enjoyed the buzzy atmosphere. On our list to return.

Ear Splitting. The worst dining experience I can remember. Unable to hear ourselves over the live band we asked the volume to be reduced, which it was but increased to ear splitting volume. We sat dumbfounded over the screaming female vocalist. The staff would walk past see there was no rice and keep walking. A request for dishes to be served one at a time was forgotten. A horrific evening...ps The food was great. I will never, ever go back.

Amazing on all levels!. I have been here three times. <br/>Each time the service has been incredible, the food tasty and presented in an exciting way. <br/>The scallops are soft shell crab were delicious.<br/>Had my birthday there recently and was brought a complimentary cocktail and the 'goblet for two' dessert with the spun sugar which looked and tasted amazing. <br/>Love this place and recommend it to everyone!

Copiously capable. I tried to think of a way to review Infuzions without sounding bland or unimaginative but ultimately I'll just have to take that risk.<br/>Four of us went there for a family meal (my wife and I up from Melbourne and first time at Infuzions, 2nd for my parents). I couldn't fault it, hence the fear of blandness.<br/>The structure was very clean, open, tasteful and restrained.<br/>The food was varied, tasty, clean and imaginative. One member being gluten free was no problem and no real penalty of choice.<br/>The service was spot on - prompt, attentive and sensitive to space.<br/>We took BYO but the wine list was sufficient.<br/>We spoke to one of the owners and he was passionate about his restaurant.<br/>I can't imagine why I won't make a beeline for Infuzions the next time that I'm in Sydney.
Sam
Modern asian cuisine that gives new meaning to the dining experience. Food here is just as incredible as the service. Little bit pricey for the area, but worth going. Recommend for a night out with friends.

A brilliant twist on Asian style of food. Perfect to share!
