Review Amici Ristorante Pizzeria Bar - Cammeray

I love coming back to this place every now and then when I have a family dinner, they have excellent food, choices and great service. I especially like the tin foil swan that my pasta dish came in, what a lovely design!

I don’t expect any less from this restaurant! Craving a pizza? I’ll go to amici… craving a scrumptious pasta? I’ll go to amici.. the staff and owner are always great company and always make sure that you are happy with your food. Also if you love seafood, the brodetto is a must!

The waitress was efficient, polite, informed and happy faced. Her Italian boss said the wait staff are all from Nepal - and wonderful. Like the food. The Truffle penne was a glorious taste. I should have tipped !

We have been going here for years but I just finished work and went to pick up pizza my husband had ordered while on my way home. I went to the counter to collect, I was not dressed up, I was in my nursing scrubs. I was spoken to so rudely over a miscommunication over our order that they didn’t seem have. I have NEVER been spoken down to like this and so rudely. I was told ‘we don’t have time for this love’ and no resolution was offered. I was so embarrassed and shocked that I left. We have been loyal customers but will never go here again. So disappointing and not the way to treat your customers or speak to people in general, ever. In response to the message below: As mentioned, and as shown below, again speaking rudely to your customers is unnecessary. I mentioned there was a miscommunication, however my complaint is over the way you spoke down to me and were extremely rude. Just like below, no apology or kindness towards your clients, even with any misunderstanding, just that we are wrong. We have been great customers over the years so for anyone to think speaking to someone like that, customer or not, is disappointing.

Authentic italian food. The pizza base is the best I have had. I am definitely going back for that. The tiramisu is just perfect. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I am glad we have this place in our area.

Amazing! The food was wonderful and the staff efficient, personable and welcoming. The chef was very present, greeting customers. It is rare to find a genuine Italian restaurant these days.

Great atmosphere, attentive staff and fabulous food! Spoilt for choice the menu is extensive something for everyone and make sure you order the Tiramisu for dessert it was so good. Plenty of parking behind restaurant.

Edible but barely. We ordered the Cecatielli Casalboresi and the Penne Alla Norcia to takeaway. The Casalboresi looked like a dogs breakfast and tasted like it looked. The Penne was flavourless. Both had rubbery pasta. Only the two stars because quick service and nice staff on pick-up.

Been coming to Amici for at least 15 years and the current owner has been here for 7. Such a family focused eatery; with all the favourites to fulfil any desire! A few chef suggestions tonight... veal tripe in a slowly cooked napoli sauce, nonna's meat balls with wood fired bread or angel hair pasta tossed with garlic and crab meat in napoletana sauce. My partner is starving and orders up big....Caprese salad, house made warm loaf with olive oil and a hearty lasagne. When I dine here I like to keep it truly simple and I order a very comforting and delicious spaghetti alle vongole with cherry tomotoes. All dishes are full of flavour and will keep you coming back for more! A little pick me up for dessert with a good portion of tiramisu! Authentically Italian! There is also an extensive pizza menu which looks very popular but I just can't seem to go beyond the tasty pasta dishes. Can't mess with perfection.

We went on a whim, midweek, just looking for a nice meal out and we weren’t at all disappointed. It has a nice cosy feel and the service was great. Really enjoyed all the food we had and it’s always nice when it’s BYO too. Will definitely go back again, a good discovery

Amici’s was an accidental discovery following a hankering for pizza for dinner and feeling adventurous. This pizzeria is located a little out of the way of public transport and they don’t do delivery but they do have plenty of public parking behind their restaurant. When you walk in, the centrepiece of this restaurant is quite clearly the wood-fire oven which burns brightly and complements the warm, rustic feel.

This place was great. Food was great but service was amazing! Felt at home. The staff was friendly, the resturant had a romantic feel to it which was prefect for my date night.

Been here twice with Wife's friends.
Chef comes to Table and greeting everyone. I liked how he introduce daily special menu.
1st time i was having dinner at street level and 2nd time we were 12people so went to upstairs.
I think street level, you can see how they making pizza and stuff. it's cooler than upstiars.
Liked Ravioli :)

Great little local italian that I wish I had around the corner.I didn't try the pizza but its wood fired and looked and smelt amazing.I had the porcini risotto with truffles,I can't go past a truffle, and even though it was slightly gluggy for my taste, the rice grains were still firm and it was full of flavour. Will go again I'd I'm local.

Best margarita pizza around! Have other great appetizers just wish they delivered or offered a service of that nature as sometimes you just want to stay home! :)

Highly rate Amacai! One of my favourite restaurants. Everything from the food, service, waiters and the owner. You’ll find me here at least once a fortnight, walking in with a BYO bottle of wine and chatting to the owner. Always ordering the same thing (its become a bit of a tradition for my boyfriend and I)
The Antipasto degl’Amici and the Brodetto dell’Adriatico (the seafood stew - probably one of my favourite dishes ever), if the fig pizza is also on the specials board make sure you give it a try too. Highly recommend if you are in Cammeray.

Been a while. It has been a couple of years since we last went to amici and we loved being back. Went with 3 kids and everyone loved the meal. Pizza was a hit. I enjoyed the pork ragou pasta. Service eas very friendly and attentive. Chef even had the kids sit with him while he made the Nutella pancakes. Will be back.

I'm on the loose end tonight because Mysaucepan is catching up with her girlfriends. So I find myself with the boys which is a rare thing these days. Well, not quite all the boys because my friend Peter is also with his wife Cindy. Tonight, he suggests one of the better Italian restaurants in Sydney's north shore and we rock up to Amici Ristorante Pizzeria along Miller street. When this restaurant first opened years ago, I remember the craze with its wafer thin pizzas with a refreshing twist from the traditional ones.

Neighbourhood gem. A great local place to eat. The food is fresh, good variety and lovely attentive staff. The owner takes a personal interest in all the diners. Warm and inviting atmosphere. A must!

Food wasn't too bad but poor service. We ordered a glass of wine and a lemon lime bitter (very watery) that came in 5 mims and the wine, which we had to remind the waiter about, took 25 mins. The mains took 55 mins for my girlfriend's to arrive, a simple and quite bland ravioli that was cold. By the time mine came she had finished hers.
She's a slow eater.
To top it off, my pizza was missing the olives that I so clearly ordered and the waiter confirmed back but after waiting well over an hour for just a pizza, I was just keen to end the whole ordeal.
One plus, the mussels entrée was excellent.

Hit and miss. Having dined in and had take away this place can frustrate. Had a very good experience dining in and it is great to find a pizzeria in Sydney that does tuna on a pizza. However take away have been appalled at the huge amount of grease on the pizza. I am not usually fussy about a bit of oil or grease but both times the pizza was unedible. Very disappointing.

Great Food. This local institution has been around for about 10 yrs and still turns out some of the best food around. The wood fired pizzas are perfection. Their desserts are simply divine. The food along with the typical Italian hospitality, both warm and friendly, keeps us coming back to this gem. Well done Amici! 10/10

I've had better from a can!!. Amici used to be a real gem - great food, friendy staff and reasonable prices. Diners beware this is no longer the case! The quality has dramatically slipped!

I just had their beef ragu and it had no taste, hardly any meat and loads of oil (see photos). I've had better from a can!

Very disappointing and what is worse is that management made no appology and charged me for the meal even though it was hardly eaten. My partner had the veal which was not much better!

Heavenly pizza! Well established place. The food is exceptional, and the prices are reasonable, try to go early or on a quiet night, as this place gets busy quickly.

Yum!. This place is delicious - but dont only get the pizza. everytime I come here we get the seafood plate...an assortment of fresh seafood in a delicious rich tomato sauce, its a little expensive but it is cooked to perfection.
The wait staff are extremely friendly and always accomodate to our every need. Desserts are yum too.... if your nice they may also give u a special surprise drink to finish your meal :)

Meravilioso. I think that is the correct spelling for Fantastic/Magnificent in Italian. This family owned Italian restaurant & pizzeria is just that...absolutely fantastic. The owner is always there ensuring everything is spot on and making you feel like you are a personal guest & friend (amici) in his home. The food is absolutely mouthwatering and very generous portions, almost not leaving enough room for the desert, but I couldn't say no to the refreshing Limoncella. We will be back regularly, as this place is a hidden gem...great value for money for the authentic Italian dining experience...great food & hospitality...Grazie

Excellent pizza, great food and spot on service. Our favourite is seafood pasta baked in the oven, any pizza and antipasto platter to die for. Loud and cheerfull, not for the quiet ones.
