Such a fabulous place! tucked away in a beautiful corner building, this family run cafe is the place to go for amazing coffee, fabulous food and great service. And I love the decor. Highly recommended!
Lovely place, lovely food and lovely staff!! Will defiantly be going back!
The breakfast was one of the best ones I’ve had! The fire was so nice. Service was great!
I love this place, lovely cosy cafe with a wide selection of food on offer and great coffee. Will be returning again and again, a real gem!
Down the hill from Cammeray Shops, its a great place where locals call in. Also great as a temporary office for an hour or two!
I called The Alchemist at the last minute on a Saturday morning in the hope of a table for eight, and they were able to accommodate my party. I am always impressed with their welcoming attitude and the consistent quality of food and drink. This Cammeray gem is well worth a visit.
Popped in for coffee on a short trip to Sydney - now considering moving to Cammeray so this place can be my local! Best coffee, beaming service, beautiful decor and even a big bowl of water for my pooch. Thanks for the smiles and caffeine guys! Delicious.
Great service and definitely the best espresso north of the bridge!!
Fantastic food and coffee – even the decaf is exceptional! Lovely service and wonderful staff. Will be back soon!!
Great theme, great staff, delicious food. Recommended.
Congratulations on serving a perfect coffee!! I thought I had to go to Melbourne for coffee that good!! Will definitely be back - fab space too
Love the space and the vibe. Great coffee too. Congrats guys!
Quinoa muesli 2 mornings in a row for breakfast...yummo!
Changing the coffee and bacon and egg game. 10/10 legendary
Neighbourhood gem. Imaginative menu. Beautiful presentation. Can’t wait to return
Have been coming along to the Alchemist at least weekly since they opened up. Fantastic cafe that is always refining it's service and looking for new ways to improve.
The staff are always friendly and personable and the owners are fantastic and remember faces, it feels like a community!
Particular favourites are the breaky burger (which my wife doesn't let me order very often) and the Acai bowl. Coffee is always consistent.
Couldn't believe my luck when such a fantastic cafe opened up in the area!
In Short: The Alchemist Espresso is a suburban gem. Tucked away on a quiet street, yet still only minutes from North Sydney, this café delivers astounding coffee and nourishing eats. There’s a great selection of gluten-free muffins and cakes. . I have a feeling this post is going to annoy locals who covet The Alchemist Espresso, but little gems like this one need to be celebrated. This little café shuns the exposure of Miller Street, where you would find a host of eateries. It sits a couple of blocks from the main drag, yet never suffers from lack of attention. The space has been fashioned out of an old liquor store with that characteristic VB sign up top. It’s rustic, with a real country home atmosphere.
Great cafe and run by lovely people. We really enjoyed the menu, nice cafe style food but with a bit of an exotic twist. Coffee was top shelf!
Definitely becoming a regular weekend breakfast for us.
The best coffee shop I've been to in Sydney. I've recently started coming to Sydney internationally, and every time I come through from now on I'll always make this a go to stop.
The owners are the nicest people, and care very much for every customer that comes through its doors. Jonny makes the best latte I've ever had, seriously, you need to try it. The cafe attendants take the time to talk to you and ask if you need anything, they are always very accommodating.
I recommend this place to anybody who likes great coffee, and delicious food. Sue is a master chef, like the kind you'd see on TV. By the way they just got new stoneware, the plating is great.

This gem of a cafe could well serve up the best breakfast and coffee that you will ever experience. We were visiting Sydney from the self named coffee capital of the southern hemisphere (Wellington NZ) but this little place, hidden away in the gorgeous neighbourood of Cammeray exceeded all expectations and then some. Supporting great coffee is an excellent selection of super healthy and super tasty food. If there's a better cafe in Sydney, I haven't been to it. Maybe its a locals' best kept secret? I suggest its well worth a trip out of your way even if you're not a Cammeray local.
Really enjoyed my lunch. Many options for adults and kids. Healthy side for drinks so no soft drink. But offer milkshakes. Healthy fresh meals with excellent service by staff.
Had the variety platter. Big enough for two to 3 people to snack on with a large variety of options. Will be back and worth a visit
Really enjoy this little cafe, excellent coffee and great homemade food! Particularly fond of the banana bread. My husband and I come here regularly.
Had brunch here with a friend last week and we we were impressed by the dining experience. Food was enjoyable, staff efficient and vibe was inviting. Definitely will be a regular here.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and beverage. Hot chocolate was just the perfect amount of sweetness. Kids pancake was a bit dense but very visually appealing. The cheeseburger wasnt too heavy with the broiche bun and pickles. Fries are very crunchy. The bao buns were delicious but felt like was missing a bit of something to cut through the sauce.
A great cafe that has actually gotten better as the owners have changed over the years. Coffee is exceptional and a number of very tasty breakfast and lunch meals. Really good options for kids and all round welcoming atmosphere.
Absolutely a wonderful find. The coffee was excellent and the food delicious at a very reasonable price. Great atmosphere and the wood fire was such a great thing for a freezing morning. Will definitely be back again and again.
I have been to this café twice. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. It’s a small café on a quiet Cammeray street. They do have a couple of larger tables inside but it’s mainly little tables for two or three outside, so be wary of weather conditions when going (would not be good on rainy or extremely sunny/hot days). The food is excellent and they do all day breakfasts which is great if like me, you love brunch! I had to make a swop with one of my meals as I don’t eat pork and had the bulgogi instead and it was great. Highly recommended.
Been to this place a couple of times now and it’s such a cute place!
Very welcoming, a local gem. The cafe is also visually appealing.
The staff are lovely, and the food was great - have had the avo smash & a chicken sandwich, both of which were amazing.
The coffee is also very good, which is a rarity in Sydney
Enjoyed our brunch here. It gets busy but we scored a big table and the staff were very accommodating and attentive. Great selection of food choices and coffee was decent.
Love this cafe. Coffee is really good and food delicious. Can tell the owner/chef puts his heart into the menu and his cooking. My favourite is the pulled lamb with couscous, so delicious! Very friendly place with lovely atmosphere. So good to finally have a really good cafe in the area.
