First time eating a kebab in ages as I'm very very fussy with meat.... all i can say is WOW! I'm very impressed. I highly recommend this place. So so so nice.
Katik is what kebabs are all about and much more. It is multi-culturalism at its best. Men, women and children from a wide background come together in this small shop to share very tasty and fresh food, prepared by staff who pride themselves on their heritage. Long may it last.

THE BEST Kebab shop in Melbourne by far! No joke. I drive 3 hrs sometimes now that i have moved away to come here and there is no other reason to come to that part of the city but a "monza special" =kebab with hommus and chilli. Beautiful ! At times Parking is difficult here also alot of rush at the counter but there is no reason you could hate the food here. Staff is very helpful and friendly. My fav is the Adana and Chicken/Lamb Doner with the cucumber and Hummus dip. Make sure you have the plate there itself hot and pipping. The also provide free turkish bread refills when you dine in. Dine-in can be abit grumpy but absolutely worth it for the food, price and taste.

Dont let the looks of this place deceive you, they have the freshest most delicious adana in Melbourne. Nobody else does an Adana like this. Definitely reccomend coming here. Travelled a while to visit this shop. Staff is also extremely friendly and they take time to prepare your order.
A very humble looking kebab shop but don’t let that fool you. They arguably make the BEST Adana in Victoria. The lahmacun is really good too. Fast friendly service and a favourite amongst family and friends. This is our go-to kebab joint!
The beat lahmacun I have ever had, live in the south eastern suburbs but would definitely go for a drive just to have lahmacun from Katik. It is a very very busy shop, however the wait is so worth it.

I love allot of things from Katik but my favorite is Lachmacun (turkish Pizza) the only place that gets the bread crispy and paper thin. I also love the Adana kebab, there is people that travel the distance to eat this. The food is very fresh and the turn over is insane. They are super busy so be prepared to hang out for your food as they don’t just heat up your pre cooked nuggets.
I don’t love the lamb doner kebab as they use mince meat and I refer this as a fake kebab.
It is so cheap and tasty you can’t go wrong. They don’t accept card and in a world that is becoming cashless this can be slightly annoying but I’ll happily withdraw some funds for your food. This place needs a Reno. 30 years and nothing has changed

I've tried Iskender, which seems similar to Halal Snack Pack BUT they use yoghurt instead and it's not spicy. Instead of potato fries they've laid out their main Turkish bread, which was delicious with tomato sauce 🍅

My boyfriend introduced me to this place and I’ve loved it ever since!!! Despite this place been so busy all the time, the food comes out tasting fresh and amazing every single time. It’s the best kebab place in Melbourne. Best kebab I ever ate. I have no words. Speechless. Lol. Wrap was so fluffy, soft, crisp, great flavor, lots of different texture and flavors. Fresh ingredients..oh it was perfect. I came from the west but we have to go to the other side of the state for this haha. Wow so worth it! Humongous serving and best price! This institution is the pride of the north. The busy and lively atmosphere, combined with its long and well established history, no-frills ambience, instore bread making, and quality yet cheap food options make this place appealing in so many ways. The customer service is at times fun and good natured, yet also confrontational but respectful (reminds of the Soup kitchen in Seinfeld). No extra charges are laid for dip additions (e.g. hummus), making the value for money even more ridiculous. The sizing portion is generous - you can easily halve a kebab (depending on how hungry you are) and have it as a seperate meal. Adana is good on its own. I like my chicken donor with hummus and chilli sauce ($7) and lamb donor with bbq sauce, hummus, and chilli flakes ($6). Lahmacun is also splendid. The place becomes crazingly busy around peak periods (i.e. noon and evening), so I would recommend calling in advance to make an order. Be sure to grab cash as this is a cash only business.

I have been to a few kebab shops here and there before but found this one better than all of them . Tried their chicken doner kebab as well as Adana kebab. The food is delicious but there isn’t enough sitting area, hardly 4 tables, which are always occupied . It is busy throughout the day and you have to wait for your order. If you are a kebab lover , you should try this place once .
Good luck getting a seat here. Most people go the takeaway route as there’s not a lot of space and you are very lucky to score a spot given it’s always absolutely packed. I cannot believe how cheap this place is. They could probably put through a serious price rise and still be just as popular. It’s not fancy but it’s absolutely spot on delicious. They jam pack the thing with meat too. Oh and if you manage to score a table you will end up with some amazing complimentary warm bread

A bit annoying because they are always so busy and the shop is small. I like my personal space. Best Adana kebab I've had. It is big, juicy and flavourful. It's $8. I think they make the bread fresh in store too. If you haven't tried one, your missing out. It tastes like an awesome flame grilled hamburger 😊

This isn't a place you would think to go into. It looks like a regular kebab takeaway place and doesn't look nice, but boy is it busy! And i can see why. The food is delicious, very well priced, and it has the BEST pide I've ever had. Well worth a visit.
Bloody cheap doner kebab for $5.5 and it's very tasty!! The serving size is huge too, full of meat ! Definitely returning. The only downside is living too far away!!! About 50 mins drive :(

I lived a couple hundred meters from this joint and ate here once weekly, mate, once you have a kebab here your not going to want to go anywhere else, any kebab you have after this is just haram. The size the price the taste, they are just the BEST, I have no other words to describe it. This place is like love, it should be entered with abandon or not at all, it is like a combination of magic and meat. You don't need a sliver fork to eat good food, just come to Katik and have a kebab. Halal/10.
At first I was a bit suss but thank the heavens above, this place is amazing, top prices and tasty food. Staff are friendly and helpful but watch out around lunch and dinner as it gets very busy and can be a long wait but use your brain and phone ahead. They even deliver too, I wish I lived closer ☺☺..

Order two Adana each (this will save you having to line up again and order your second one, trust me on this, I've made this mistake once before). As the sweet combination of garlic, Adana, lettuce, onion and fresh Turkish bread hits your palette, you will find yourself ignoring your friends and everything around you. You have a garlic beard. You reek of garlic and onion medley. But it's worth it. And it only cost you $14. Seriously good fare.
Katik's Adana kebab is famous for a reason. This item alone is worth traveling for. Add to that the quality of the lahmacun and other pides and it's not hard to see why Katik is always ridiculously busy. The humus is well worth a try and their overall price point is very reasonable.

Incredible kebabs, the best morsels of meat you will have on the north side hands down! Very generous portions of tenderly cooked beef & chicken spit roasted and perfectly seasoned wrapped within a long roll of freshly baked Turkish bread, yoghurt garlic sauce , lettuce and tomato. The serving size is not for the faint hearted and don't let the queue put you off as this means they are constantly cooking up fresh batches of everything on the menu with the fast turnover. The iskender plate was a served with a mountain of tenderly shaved beef and chicken laid on a bed of cut up Turkish bread and yoghurt sauce , definitely one for the meat lovers. All this for under $18 is daylight robbery. You will not be disappointed .

One of the best kebabs in Melbourne - they make their own bread, which is not as puffy as other Turkish places in general. That way, you've got room for the Lebanese pastry from Sweet Inspiration over the road.
It's small, so take away is better; park out next to the railway line and watch the trains pull into the final stop on the Upfield line. The Adana here is so good I am often tempted to put my head on the tracks and let it be my last meal.
Katik is a cheap, small & modest takeaway place that packs a punch with its bread and Adana Kebabs. The lahmacuns are also a good choice. I wouldn't eat here with the family though, very noisy and busy with limited seating. Order the food takeaway and eat at a local park.

Adana Kabab. I met a Turkish bloke at work the other day who swears Katik's Adana kebab is the best in Melbourne. He knows his kebabs -- been to almost all of the places I've been too, was telling me fine points about how they're made, such as grinding red capsicum into a slurry to mix with the lamb, all sorts of stuff that made me respect his judgment. I love a good kebab, even when I'm not drunk, so I rode the Upfield train to the end of the line just to eat here.
As other reviewers say, Katik's Adana is a loooooong kebab -- stretchier than a foot-long hot dog, I reckon. Katik's grill men lay the skewers over open charcoal -- not even a grill grate -- and they get a bit of smoking as they heat. There's a bit of char on the outside, but not as crusty as some I've had. The The mince is seasoned with capsicum, paprika and other Turkish flavours, but not super-hot. The wrap version is served on what I think of as Afghan bread -- flat yeast-risen dough, not puffy like Turkish rolls, but not pancake-y like pitas. It has springy, toothsome resistance when you bite it. I mean that in a good way. The salad has a hit of parsley in it, which makes it more interesting than the typical lettuce/tomato/onion kebab mix.
Is it the best? I rate Katik's Adana as superior to most that I've had. Lots of times, Adana kebabs are like Turkish versions of hamburgers. If I had to pick one, though, I'd go with Arto's in Hampton, for the spiciness of his meat and how he grills it over wood chunks. Katik's a winner in the price category, though -- only $7 for this great sandwich.

The Adana is to die for and is worth the travelling from anywhere but the parking is aweful eg.our last kebabs cost us $148 ouch, but we will always return. ADAAAANNNAA!. Their food overll is not bad, typical of turkish places. Yoghurty dips, chicken & lamb fillet skewers, salad. These are okay. BUT, the Adana kebabs (Mince lamb pounded with herbs, capcicum, onion, Garlic & Chilli). It is fantastic...great flavour, cooked well. Come here to try this Typical dish of south West Anatolia...You won't be dissapointed!

This is one of the best "kebab" type places I have been to. Their chicken is deliciously seasoned, the lamb is in interesting long slivers and the adana itself is a minced lamb creation that is grilled over charcoal. They're generous with the salads and sauces, making this a very filling meal for THREE people.
Although their name is "Take Away" due to the small size of their store, there is a limited opportunity to sit down at their dining booths. It's efficiently delivered.
Katik's is worthwhile going to if you're in the area.
The adana had just the right amount of spice. The meat was cooked perfectly and it was just so juicy. About $16.50 with the fermented spicy carrot drink. Definitely worth the big hype that everyone was talking about.

The kebabs are great as well but Adana is my favorite item here. The bread used for the rolls is not too thick and not too thin. They got it just right. I do believe the bread is made in-house. The Adana might be from a local supplier (I've heard itsfrom Tek Foods). Regardless, it's very nice. The sauces are also spot on. $9 for the Adana roll, an excellent deal in my books.
It doesn't get better than Katik. Fresh, amazing food to die for. The prices are fantastic and the service is extremely quick. I would recommend to anyone who thinks they've had the best, because this sets the standard. Nothing compares.
